Sorry. But with my claim to insanity actually being somewhat legit, I'm somewhat sensitive to people using 'insanity' as an excuse to shout whatever they want on the Internet. It gives us mentally ill a bad name.

BTW, as a result of said near-insanity I also want stories to make some sort of sense, to be even remotely believable. And your story (or at least, almost all of Samus's actions) make no sense at all for Samus. This bugs me a lot since I really like Samus. And I just can't let it lie.

And yes, melee weapons are still being used in the future. By space pirates. But there is no part of Samus's suit that could hold a knife. Nor does she appear to have a sheath somewhere on that blue bodysuit. No matter how much you may disagree with it, Samus stays loyal to her battlesuit, no matter how many times it may lose nearly all its weaponry. Well... except for Metroid Fusion, if I'm not mistaken. But by then Samus has already eradicated every last metroid in the universe.

Actualy Anubis, your review was taken serious, and my first response was not intended to be insulting nor informative, however, because it appeared so I leave this review stating the following...

Whilst you may or may not believe the validity of my mental disposition, it is not of primary concern. Being a bastard however, is one of my favorite past-times. And, to answer again the knife question, it is quite simple. No matter what technology you have, no matter how powerful it may be, it is still just that, technology. Any person of considerable common sense would bring along a tool or object without the delicate requirements that advanced technology adheres by. A knife, one of the simplest, yet most reliable tools, is the perfect item to carry in the event that technology fails. Plus, I think it would be a safer thing to use at point blank that and energy weapon at point blank range. Side effects from the blast exposure could cause numerous afflictions.

I do hope that in the future you remember that I am crazy. So most of what I say is either absolutelty true, or complete bullshit, and that I do as I see fit. I don't care if my literiture (if it can be called thet) is unappreciated, I will continue to post, because it is what I do. Understand.

Well then, I must be off now, and I still consider a fellow author such as your self a friend and allie, this misunderstanding should not come between us. This is CrazyIvan, signing off for now.....

The bad thing about claiming to be a psychotic, insane bastard is that this claim does not hold up against someone who lives with someone who is psychotic and who is technically insane himself. I'm fully willing to believe you on the bastard point, though.

    Anyways...

My review was supposed to be taken about as seriously as the story itself. But... why would Samus take along a 'handy dandy blade' if she's got that kick-ass battlesuit on all the time? And anyways, where the crap would she keep it?

Good for you Anubis. However, I don't care, as you may or may not already know, I am a psychotic crazy bastard. Anyways, I do realise everything that you said is true, but I still don't care, this pos is something I pulled out of my ass in less than ten minutes, I happened to have a urge to write so wala. But, the way I look at metroids, is that they are a polyamorphous substance creature, they can flow like jell, and mold into different shapes, that's how they had tentacles, and as for the knife part, I had a knife implemented because no one in their right mine should travel a hostile universe without a handy dandy blade. This is Crazy Ivan, signing off for now...

Hmm. Well, that was short, pointless and hopelessly out of character. Never mind that Samus actually wears clothes underneath her armour, never mind that she's not nearly stupid enough to get naked near a thawing Space Pirate on a planet that obviously isn't fully secure yet and never mind the fact that she doesn't really have a stabbing weapon.

However, I do mind the Metroids. They don't have tentacles. Only Hunter Metroids do and, to an extent, so does Metroid Prime. Ordinary Metroids don't.

Other than that it was so blatantly ridiculous I couldn't be offended by it.
