Reviews for A Pact of Earth and Life

    Where to start.

This fanfiction - a word whose status is raised by this entry - is wonderful. Equal parts smutty and serious, it achieves a near perfect balance. It brings new life to an obscure little village in an old and outdated world, long forgotten. Vivid descriptions of the 'dark, olive-coloured leaves of the terrokar trees' are so skilfully woven, the deep love and knowledge is evident.

The author has a particular way of describing something as simple as a speech pattern that just makes sense. 'When he finally spoke, it was with the weight and wisdom of all his kind, and with words that seemed to come from a train of thought that had been long in the making.' Phrases like these create such an accurate image that you're never struggling to envision what's being told to you.

'Never struggling', in fact, covers most of the points I have to make. No finicky wording to get caught on, no lack of clarity as to who is speaking, no lack of vision of the world around you - and yet, somehow, not overly descriptive, messy, or bloated.

An absolute pleasure to read. As soon as I finished, I had to fly over to Ruuan Weald to explore the world I'd been reminded the beauty of. I hope you continue writing with such passion for as long as you enjoy it.

Chapter 2... utterly delicious dragon sex! This is why I've missed you, waddict. I adore the wealth of pure sensation, and the lush attention to every nuance of sex, the feel of skin against skin (or scales, as it were), the scents, the tastes, the sheer physicality of coupling. It's glorious, and I'm remined of how jealous I am of your skill.

So, yes, more, please! (And there, I've asked nicely...)

I have missed reading your work, you know. And already, one chapter in, and I'm well and truly hooked. Antelarion is wonderfully mysterious, and all the hints of secrets he holds are enough to make me eager to read on. Mosswood is wise, and Faradrella is a delight. And yes, while I still haven't let myself get sucked into WoW (I have NO time!), you're quite adept at making even newcomers like me comfortable with the lore.

So, my vote is for more, please! But then, I've always been a greedy wench. :D
