This absolutely fucking amazing! I don't think I've ever read a fanfiction this good. I can't believe you don't have more reviews. Please finish it? Pretty please?

Hey there. I sent this as an email but since I heard no response, I knew that one way or another, I wanted this to reach you. So I'll just paste it here.

I felt the very VERY incessant need to just stop midway, and tell you, in person (God knows, I can only pray you somehow get this) just how much I am in complete and total awe of your story.

I'll admit, I've never really been the enormous DMC fan that most I meet in the fandom are. In fact, my appreciation wasn't peaked until I played the third installment a few months ago, my interest in the fandom itself hardly even mentionable.

It wasn't really even until an online friend of mine caught my interest, as I solemnly proclaimed that the dmc fandom itself seemed dead, or at best, ridden entirely with 13 year old fanatical eroticism, that I even found your story. You know what she said to me? She said "Camaro, you're an absolute pessimist," to which I gleefully answered with a resounding "welcome to the world of Duh", which was followed by something that really struck me. "You know Camaro, say what you will. I've been to a lot of fandoms, read some amazing things. But only one real story stands out in my mind, and believe it or not, it WAS from the DMC 'world' as you call it."

Thus ensued a very interesting conversation in which MUCH praise and worshipfulness was encountered dealing with Red Nightmares at Midnight.

Now, being my rather negative, overly critical self, I've often found that my interests and other's often collide and clash in a rather ugly scene. I never really like what everyone else does, nor have I often found that "reviews" and "talent" collide in anything practical or praiseworthy at all.

In a world where "sex sells" and the overall vote goes to the least amount of plot and the greatest amount of bodily fluids spewed, I was SO ... SO gifted to have found a story like yours.

But enough of all that, let me sit back a minute and just dote upon you for a bit.

Your story... thus far... is ABSOLUTELY riveting and beautiful. At first, I will say, I had a very hard time relating to Douglass. It seemed her world as a woman and mind, contrast each other so dramatically, I couldn't really sympathize with her as a person. Until the bar scene where it struck me as so... almost uncharacteristic, yet ENTIRELY in character (yeah, making no sense? Join my world haha) that I was just blown away. I found in that short scene, everything I thought I knew about Douglass was entirely cast to the way side and everything I LIKED (or loved) about Douglass was made concrete. She's unpredictable, she's hard and yet somehow (and God so help me in this category) she's soft too.

I will hatefully admit, I like her softness. Or more, her reaction to her softness, her inability to embrace that part of herself, that in its own way, defines her just as much as her inability to fail at anything.

Dante? My God,... there are few times in the Internet world when if you could, you'd give someone a VERY enthusiastic hug and I will admit, this is one of them. I LOVE how you've portrayed Dante. My biggest complaint in the fandom is the complete, apparent inability to build on his character, his trademarks being overwhelmingly overdone, thus the immense focus on "deeerrr.... he loves pizza and he's cocky"... Enter Camaro's galaxy of "Just don't give a fuck".

You are... amazing. I think sometimes, or more, I will say honestly, that as a writer and a reader, I've always prided myself on the ability to read ONE paragraph, and decide a fellow writer's gender. You..? You have me SO stumped! hahaha All of my "theories" are amounting to prostitute piss at the moment!

At first? Oh.. I figured, you must be male. The attention to "manly" details such as weapons and precise moves in battle told me that with regards all that, you HAD to be a man. But then? My ideas were completely "shat" upon and as I read your descriptions of Douglass's emotions, of her inner battles and the descriptions of a woman's fluctuating feelings and heart made me think, perhaps you're female?

And now? I think I've actually progressed passed all that and can clearly tell you, no holds bared, that it doesn't matter to me WHAT gender you are. The means with which you write, the power of your words.... you have a gift that I've seldom EVER (if ever to be straight with you) come across. You FEEL so powerfully, to put yourself essentially in the heart of a character. Sometimes, I think when you write so unpredictably, you were FEELING a certain way at that juncture of the story, happy, or sad... and your moods were as readable to me as Dante's.

Maybe, I think you must reread that story and see it as your own personal journal, or diary, of what you were going through at the time, so amazing and powerfully you depicted emotion and heart in your words.

You made me laugh, you made me blush, you ACTUALLY made me hit the wall I was SO enthralled with the opera scene and romantic little innuendos thrown in, you made me cry aloud when Dante would smack her butt (haha) and I suppose, most importantly, you moved me to tears.

I've already learned from my friend that the story has not been finished and after reading the first few paragraphs, (despite my self promise never to begin reading ANYTHING unfinished) I know, undoubtedly, I will progress to the end of what you HAVE written. It horrifies me, the lack of reviews or praise you received when FUCKING GRACING the fandom and the internet itself with your work. But then, what real artist is ever truly appreciated at the time eh?

I will end this saying a few things. One,... It has been... MY HONOR to read this story thus far. Two.... I can only THANK you so much for restoring my faith in writers and three, for restoring my faith, my inspiration and my love for writing and reading literature as a whole. You are a very talented, gifted person and I'm only so grateful that I have had the opportunity to get a taste of what you have given us all.

My respect and best wishes to you always,

    Camaro

It took me a week to read all the way to chapter 21, and by the Gods it was well worth the loss of sleep and time spent. Excellent!
