I may be late to the party, but I did suspect Amy, especially after the chapter with her and Sonic exploring, but the second I couldn't figure out. I suspected him a little but not much more than anyone else. Although the little hint in the author's note near the end did make me a bit more suspicious, I was still pretty doubtful. I was like "ah, it couldn't have been him... no way.."
That said I thought it was damn good, and wouldn't mind seeing another if you ever have the gumption.

Pretty awesome. I'm glad I was wrong, I got a surprise ending! Though, Tails is fuzzy and cute and he was more of an anti-hero vigilante in this story, stopping Gerald from selling highly advanced technology to the government. Even if he did have totally different reasons of wanting to kill Gerald, he did do some good in his actions (which is pretty much the definition of anti-hero). So, I'm on his side, actually and I feel bad for him, since he'll probably go to prison for being a good guy (at least in my eyes).

Amy's a bitch! Hope she dies and I hope Shadow turns alright.

It's a good story and I hope you make a sequel! However, this might sound offensive right here, but I have to say it. I've been neglecting to review as often as I normally would, simply because you ask me to review in your author's notes in your stories so much. You know you're good authors, you don't need us to say it every five seconds. It feels like you're trying to make me feed your ego and I'm not up for that.

Hm. What about Rouge's (presumably loaded) gun, and Shadow's mention of Gerald's death in his creepy letters? Red herrings? Plus, Amy doesn't strike me as the impulsive/opportunistic murderer type - 'Amy just didn't like her' doesn't really cut it when you consider the others' more concrete motives.

Nice work. OOC all round, but it's obvious you've put quite a bit of thought into this. Plus, instead of violent horrible rape there's a daft yet brief Sonamy streak - gold star :)

Terrible terrible. The obvious guy is never supposed to be the actual killer, thats what people expect! Oh well Tails' case could probably hold up in court or at least provide a week of T.V. drama but Amy is just screwed. I wouldn't mind one more chapter giving the details on what becomes of them all.

The most obvious one is definetly Tails whom not only has a possible strong motive, strong evidence against him, but also the most important to me the opportunity to kill them both and not just one or the other that conflicts everyone else. Even if he isn't the killer (cmon it's never the obvious guy!)with this evidence and no proof to substantiate his alibi he would be the easiest one to pin it on. However all the clues given can easily be shifted
around to make any of them the murderer so I can't really guess who did it but Tails is the most obvious choice or one of them is trying really hard to make it look that way.

My guess is that it was two murders. Shadow murdered Gerald so he could get Maria, while Eggman murdered Maria so he could inherit the money. They did not know that the other was going to murder on the same day, it was just a coincidence.

It really comes off to me as Rouge and Knuckles being the most likely to have done it. During the initial part of the story where everyone's pointing fingers at each other, Rouge and Knuckles neglected to blame each other. They also coincidentlly got put together with Robotnik in a group, which I personally assume Robotnik is smart enough to know they're likely to work together and would want to keep an eye on them. Knuckles had blood on his glove and his fists are huge to smash things, Rouge can fly and so she could drop Maria in the pool without being wet. On top of that, they're married and thusly have high reason to communicate together to form a plan.

Hopefully I turn out to be wrong just so I can enjoy a surprise twist ending, but that's how it seems to me so far.

True... Perhaps it is him. He might have killed Gerald first, then accidentally cleaned the mess off in the pool. That said, wouldn't he be smart enough to realize this, and get his gloves dirty? Or just go back to work after killing them? Frankly, it's far too easy that he just decided to change gloves to a clean pair before investigating whatever was going on.

Not going to point at who the killer is exactly, but Tails is my first suspect. Since he was tinkering with machines, and his overalls were covered with grease, why would his gloves be clean? (this was mentioned somewhere in the first chapter) That is,unless the gloves were used to keep Maria underwater as she drowned. If Tails DID kill Maria, I'm still not sure if he's the same person who killed Gerald. Keep the story going, please. XD

Interesting... Robotnik is the obvious candidate, but admittedly that is mostly because of bias from the games. Plus, he is supposedly a genius and must have realized how obvious a choice he would be. On the other hand, he may well have assumed he could fool any investigators. But no, I think he's too obvious.

Sonic... It depends on how closely you stick to the actual personalities. While yes, he has the speed to kill both people, hide the bodies, clean up and still be around to look like nothing happened, the personality doesn't fit. Sonic may be a jerk and something of an anarchist, but he's not a killer and murdering simply for money doesn't fit. Especially since it's well-known that Robotnik gains the money from the will, making changing it extremely risky.

Tails is possible. Childish, but a genius- and genii are well-known to be ostracized for their talents. Combine that with his "mutation", and you have a perfect set-up for a whole lot of resentment... Still, the methods employed for murder are a little unlike him. Being a genius, I'd expect something smarter- or at least a weapon involved. Simply bashing Geralds head in and drowning Maria? Rather brutish for his tastes- and ability. Also, as you say, he's wealthy enough in his own right, making murder something of an extremity for revenge. Public humiliation, lawsuits... That I could understand. Murder? A little too far, methinks.

Amy is looking verrrry possible. Her personality isn't really known much beyond her obsession with Sonic- which is in itself a black mark, showing her to have an obsessive tendency. Her past crimes don't do her any favours either, and if she really was having a shower, why wasn't she dressed appropriately? Surely she would've come running with a towel around her at the sound... Also, it's noticeable she immediately tried to deflect the matter of Maria's death away from the possibility of murder, then "went with the flow" when people's minds went in other directions.

Shadow... Shadow I could see killing Maria out of a stalkers jealousy (though it's unlikely), possibly in a rage which he then forgets, making the screaming fit a "what have I done?!" thing. However, I can't see him killing Gerald as well, a forgetful rage would be more focussed. That leaves the fit to be acting- I don't think Shadow is that good an actor. I find him to be possible, but unlikely.

Knuckles... The method fits. Bashing Geralds head in is a brutes method, and he's strong enough to hold Maria down, as Amy pointed out. He also seems more concerned with defending himself and inflicting pain and threats on various people than actually sorting it out, which might be just his usual anger or might be something more. Either way, it doesn't speak well of him. He's also well known to overreact to insults, but usually against people who can handle the consequences- Sonic, Robotnik, etc.

Rouge is at the same time possible and impossible. It's possible because she's a thief, fairly ruthless and clearing away the evidence does fit her mindset- she has shown degrees of cruelty in the past. However, the method most certainly does not fit. Bashing and drowning don't seem her style. Now, if it were a wound from something precise, such as a stiletto, that I could believe. However, there seems to be no circumstantial evidence on her, but that in itself can be suspicious. She might have cleaned herself up rather too well after the act... Overall, no, I don't think it's her. Not directly. I wouldn't rule out her manipulating Knuckles into doing it though.

Overall, in my mind it's a tie between Amy doing it, or Knuckles doing it while being manipulated by Rouge.
