Reviews for Legend of Zelda: Book of Mobius

Been awhile. Y'know, I still look in on the Zelda section just about every-other visit to the site in hope of seeing this updated. I also hope you haven't lost interest or something, though I wonder how that original story turned out and if that might be the prime suspect behind the long break >_>

Seems a lot of the old stories I followed back in '08 and longer haven't seen much action in the recent times. Anyhow, good luck with what you might be up to these days, and yeah, still looking forward to seeing and update for this story someday Sealinkchan. Good luck!

I am very much sorry to have not reviewed the last two chapters sooner.

I'll admit it, I browsed through sections instead of reading them entirely through out both updates, but that doesn't mean anything beyond this: I simply held no interest in specific areas. I'm more used to the usual LoZ routine, but you're changing that up with the story in the way you write it, envolving more characters directly related to the plot and working with Link(Hask and the rest).

Something I am hoping for now that I've read that bit about the Sages betraying Link, is that Link sides with Ganon in the end. Screw 'em all over! That'll teach Monk a lesson or two.

Was the Paradox device your own invention or from one of the newer LoZ games? And good job getting Link in a hat, BTW.

All I have to say, is that this is one of the greatest fanfics I've ever read, deserving to be a standalone story of its own. I just hope the author continues it!

So happy to see this continue! I love the story, love the characters, love the entire world you've created. And seriously, Viscen was the shit in MM, but he's totally amazing in this story. Link as well! Another excellent job.

The comment about God was Links personal outlook. With a character that has to rely on his own skills to keep him alive may have more confidence in those than an unseen being who's actions are not directly visible.

Also if you remember Hyrule has Godesses rather than Gods...so any mention of a God in relation to that world is a false God.

This is not a personal outlook of the author's.

Very intriguing, and it shows lots of promise. It's very refreshing to see other original stories around these parts. Between the modern, industrial setting, and the engaging characters, I'm definitely going to be checking on this fic's progress. In this first chapter alone, you managed to add numerous layers to both the characters of Link and his Grandfather. In addition, your style is eloquently brief and descriptive at the same time.

While on the subject of style, I think it would serve the story well if thoughts were put in either quotes or italics, just to set them apart from the rest of the story. On top of that, I just want to make a comment about all the name drops you had. We saw Mido, Ruto, Rauru, Darunia, Impa, among other things, and they were all in reference to geographical locales. They were definitely a nice nod to various Zelda characters of old, but take care not to get bogged down on them. You dropped quite a few names in this chapter alone, and while they were definitely welcome, they started to get a bit distracting and predictable.

Alas, you're in charge of creating this modern countryside, and for all we know, these names are all that remain of a Hyrule mostly forgotten by its current inhabitants.

Overall, well done so far. Like I said, it shows promise, and it stands out. Keep up the solid work.

P.S. Hooray for the frantic fight with the Iron Knuckle! Monsters possessed by magic? Hogwash! Magic does not exist!

    ...or does it?
