Reviews for Ephemeral Permanence

I finished reading this yesterday and to me, this is just one of the most brilliantly written RE fics I have seen in awhile. I have grown really, really sick of the typical portrayal of those two's relationship (As in serious psychological torture, abuse and hate sex) and I found this to be a fresh new take on it all.

I feel like such a weakling too actually, haha, because I wounded up crying for quite a while after finishing the end. I never cared much for Excella, but now I have grown fonder of her because of this story, and Wesker... it was just all so painful to see him go through all that, I just can't get over it, your portrayal of him has brought me to tears, he was just so human, so filled with emotion, that I can't truly describe how awed I am of it all. And the bit with Chris... my heart is still aching over it, it went by so swiftly and harshly, just breaking up with him like that...

I wonder where they will go now, I keep hoping that they will move on somehow, tch, I know they are fictional characters but christ you really have given them so much more character than I ever could imagine. They only wanted to try to do what's right (More for Wesker's case), only to have it all thrown in their faces... I just feel like they don't deserve eternal damnation once the full story is known.

You can create such feeling within just a few sentences, you don't have to go nutso on every single detail, and in huge longass paragraphs... and so I adore your writing style.

Amazing work, now I'm tearing up again...

I really enjoyed this story - you added new layers and depths to Wesker's personality, whilst keeping him in character. It's a quiet, sad (thwarted)love story rather than your usual Wesker/Chris hatefuck porn or OOC fluff, so depending on your proclivities this might not be your thing. It's undeniably well-written though, and if you like your erotica a little more plot-driven, this is well worth a read.

I noticed the odd typo, and I'd have liked it to be longer (in the sense of developing the Wesker/Chris relationship further - the ending is great as it is!), but that's really nitpicking.

Well done - please write more Wesker fic, you're doing great things with the character :).

Suffice it to say, this did not go how I thought it would. I didn't expect the story to be based in the afterlife, nor with Excella, and I certainly didn't expect such strict adhering to the storyline of Resident Evil itself. I'm not one for reading stories in this format, but from the beginning I was hooked and intrigued as to who the woman was and what was going on with Wesker. Thats what kept me reading at first. But when I found out, it was too late to simply stop reading and continue on with my own story, I wanted to read because you put Weskers life into his perspective, gave him a personality other than the bad ass, virus ridden former Captain. It was interesting to see where he began to change and see his vulnerabilities evaporate. In the end, I was shocked. I expected something to happen but I didn't know what.

My review summed up? Definitely a story worth reading for the plot if you could truly call it a plot.

Definitely a different way to view Wesker. It's interesting to think he did all that terrible stuff because he was a very sad and hurt man. Nice work :)
