Good job fitting it all into the drabble format. Very definite ending there... I kind of wonder how it would sound delivered in a death metal growl as opposed to a sombre poem reading voice.

It's a beautiful poem even if it is about the death of a beloved comrade, especially for just that moment when the feeling is captures. Though so quick, you know it stays with the character forever. Though for a warrior, that's a great last image to keep and cherish, even in its grimness.
