Of course it's hard to say much after just one relatively short chapter but since reviews do tend to motivate writers I'll write one anyway :P.
First of all, well, you changed original "Maria" ending to the two splitting up. Neither a bad thing nor a good one - it's a fanfic, so it's something you may do.
Second of all, and it's a good thing, you mantained a slightly psychosis-inducing atmosphere that we oh so love in the first Silent Hill games, perhaps especially the second one. James' letter to Maria... is it supposed to mirror something ? ;)
Third of all. It's a good thing. I like James&Maria pairings, so I hope it'll turn out well. Have fun writing ;).
