Still reading this as I review this. It's looking good so far, but here's a few minor criticisms. The dialogue is really long-winded and stilted at times. Often, it seems as though the story would be no different without a few chunks of dialogue here and there. Sometimes, more is less. Another criticism I have is that there seems to be a lot of setup and unnecessary exposition that really seems to bog down the story's pace. Again, more is less and showing is better than telling. Still, the plot seems very interesting and I'd love to see where it goes.
