Princess Kitana found her mother, Queen Sindel, standing on the balcony of Edenia Castle, seat of government in the world formerly known as Outworld. She looked worried, moreso than ever.
"What troubles you, Mother?" Kitana asked.
"That." Sindel responded, gesturing with her chin, while her hands remained behind her back. Kitana looked down into the courtyard, where a young Chinese girl paced back and forth under the giant tree which marked the center. Her hair was long, kept out of her eyes by a long headband that matched her practice gi and seemed to emphasize her beautiful, young face.
"A girl troubles you?" Kitana asked. "I don't understand."
"She is Li Xiang, Liu Kang's apprentice." Sindel said. "She has no more idea of how she came to be here than anyone else but me."
"What secrets are you keeping, Mother?" Kitana asked.
"Not a secret, only a prophecy forgotten for ten thousand years. Back then, I r I ruled alongside King Jarrod, before Shao Kahn killed him, took me for his bride, and adopted you as his daughter, there was a prophecy that the zeal of a conqueror to own all of existence would result in an unraveling of the fabric of what is." Sindel stated. "Now Li Xiang has fallen through a hole in the barrier between the Earth Realm and Edenia, and I fear that that unraveling has begun, and that it will leave both our worlds open to some terrible fate."
"Your fears are not groundless, Queen Sindel." a gravelly voice said, and both women turned to face Rayden, of the pantheon of Earth's gods.
"Rayden, Thunder God of Earth? You are here?" Sindel asked. "Then it's true. The barrier between our worlds is unraveling."
"Not just that barrier." Rayden replied. "Noob Saibot roams the shadows, indicating that the gate to the Netherrealm is also breached, which could mean that the banished Elder God Shinnok could once again rise to power."
"Don't these prophecies usually have an ending, Mother?" Kitana asked. "What does the prophecy say about what's to come?"
"I don't know." Sindel said sadly. "The tablet is incomplete, and has been since the time of the Elder Gods, who refuse to speak of it. It says 'The zeal of a conqueror for mastery of all that is shall be its unraveling. A seated god of Earth's pantheon...' and there it is broken, shattered with only the warning intact, not the result."
"I'm not giving up without a fight." Kitana declared.
"You'll need my help, Princess Kitana." Jade called, entering the room, already dressed for battle.
"Jade!" Kitana cried welcomingly. They approached one another, embracing fondly. "My old friend, you have been too long scouting the Wastelands for Baraka's rebel mutant bands. I've missed you."
"I've brought your battle att Pri Princess." Jade said. "We will leave as soon as you are ready."
"For where?" Rayden asked. "It is foolish to rush off without a plan. You don't even know where the threat is coming from."
"Rayden is right. But I will not twiddle my thumbs waiting. We will be ready."
Elsewhere:
Mileena gawked at the scene before her. Her partner, Baraka, had been thrown high onto a pillar of spikes, many of which even now jutted through his flesh. His bald head, beady eyes and needle-like teeth remained unmarred, however, having hit in the middle of a gap in the spikes. Only his torso, and the white tank top he was wont to wear, were perforated.
Who? she thought. Who has done this? We were to rule Outworld as King and Queen, and would have were it not for the interference from the earth fools!
"How touching." a voice said. "I suppose he was an animal in the sack, considering he was an animal in almost every other respect." Mileena whirled in rage, her sais at the ready. She snarled when she saw Tanya, Edenia's chief diplomat. Something gave her pause, however. Tanya's expression was strange, as if she were...horny. "It's a pity he wasn't smarter, he could have been a real threat instead of a nuissance." Mileena charged, crying out in rage and grief. Tanya batted Mileena's sais aside and held her arms pinned against her. Mileena struggled for release, but couldn't even budge.
"It's no use struggling." a strange, male voice stated. Mileena was turned around to face the new arrival. He was a handsome man, dressed in a mage's cassock, but there was something in his eyes that screamed "POWER" in large letters. Mileena steeled herself for a confrontation, if she could ever break free of Tanya's grip. "My control over her triples her strength." the stranger concluded, barely pausing between the two sentences.
"Who are you?" Mileena demanded. "Did you kill Baraka?"
"No, that was Tanya's doing." the stranger said. "He threatened me, and her newfound devotion moved her to intervene on my behalf. She was the first one I encountered upon arriving in this world, and I couldn't have her alerting anyone, so I made her my agent." The stranger approached, caressing Tanya's cheek, and the diplomat of Edenia moaned in desire.
"You never answered my first question." Mileena snarled.
"My name is Shen Kuanghan if you feel you must know." the stranger said. "An ancient fertility god banished to Limbo by the Elder Gods for my habit of impregnating directly those who pray to me, rather than helping their husbands do it themselves. I've never been one for the indirect approach. The Elder Gods feared that my actions would give rise to a race of heroes who would rise up against their tyranny--not that I blame them, I do have a strong sense of justice, and it stands to reason that my numerous progeny would inherit it."
"You won't take me without a fight!" Mileena said, struggling fiercely, kicking at Tanya's legs and feet with her ninja boots.
"Don't do that." Shen Kuanghan said. "She's very useful to me, in more ways than one." He touched Mileena's chest, fondling her breasts tenderly. Despite her better efforts, Mileena moaned in desire. The next morning, at Edenia Castle, the next wave of Earthlings arrived from yet another hole in the wall.
"Sonya Blade," Kitana said as the blonde camouflage-clad woman stepped onto the steps of the castle, accompanied by Jax, the dark-skinned Earth man who also served as her partner. "I am gladdened that the disruptions of the dimensional barriers haven't placed you among enemies."
"Problem is, they did." Sonya replied. "We had to walk here all the way from the Wasteland. Met up with Baraka, who met up with Tanya, who introduced him to the Grim Reaper, and then when Mileena showed up, we kind of left them to their own devices."
"That doesn't sound like Tanya at all." Kitana said, confused.
"No kind words for me, Your Highness?" Johnny Cage asked, striding through the portcullis like he owned the place. He was followed at a discreet distance by Liu Kang and Kung Lao, who acted as if they wanted to pretend they didn't know the tuxedo-clad, Ray-Ban wearing movie star.
"I thought you were dead." Kitana said.
"Bruce Lee's around here somewhere too." Johnny responded. "The afterlife is spewing from both ends. I caught a glimse of Scorpion appearing in Times Square before I ended up here."
"Li Xiang!" Liu Kang exclaimed, rushing to greet his apprentice. "I wondered where you'd gotten to!"
"This could be a chance to see the master in action, no?" Li Xiang asked flippantly, masking her nervousness. "The scouts say Shinnok is coming this way."
"I want you to stay out of harm's way." Liu Kang said. "You are not ready to face Shinnok. He is an Elder God, you are a mere White Lotus apprentice."
"Sensei, don't use the word 'mere' around me." Li Xiang scowled. "I happen to be a firm believer that a person with enough will can do anything they set their mind to."
"Provided you live long enough to learn how." Kung Lao added. "Your master is right. Stay out of harm's way."
"Shinnok approaches!" Jade called from the lookout. She met Kitana and the others at the bottom of the tower.
"How can I prove myself if you won't let me fight?" Li Xiang protested.
"All teachers have a way of seeing more of our faults than we'd like." Kitana said to her. "It's the reason they're the teachers and we're the students. You should listen to him. Not only is he your teacher, he is the Earth Realm Champion of four Mortal Kombats."
"But..." Li Xiang stammered.
"Uh, girls, I'd say the point's going to be moot in about two seconds." Sonya said as Shinnok and Noob Saibot approached the castle. The group ran outside to meet them, but Rayden appeared in their path.
"Shinnok is an Elder God, and far too powerful for you to face!" he said. "I will do it. His servant is yours."
"Better than nothing, I suppose." the young apprentice said, assuming a combat-ready stance. Noob Saibot teleported, and suddenly Li Xiang was falling with him, and he was trying to slam her to the ground. She twirled and got the upper hand, however, and he ended up taking the brunt of the fall. She hooked her legs around his head and twisted her hips, receiving a satisfying snap as her reward. "That was too easy."
"Then allow me to make things more difficult for you." Shinnok said, raising his staff. Kitana, Jade, Sonya and Li Xiang disappeared just as the ground cracked and quaked, splitting so that each of the remaining warriors stood on a pillar of rock surrounded by a lake of lava. "I know not where the women went, but I shall find them as well."

"Where are we?" Kitana asked the darkness.
"A place of safety." a voice said. "Relax."
"How can I relax?" Kitana demanded. She felt a warm, soft, caressing hand moving down her bare body, and her mind was overcome with sexual desire.
"Relax." the voice repeated. "Your Master will take care of everything, you, your friends, your emerging desires...everything."

Shinnok and Rayden grappled, neither willing to yield to the other, even as they teetered precariously on a pillar of stone. Liu Kang leapt from his pillar, catching the side of the one occupied by Johnny Cage just in time to prevent himself from falling into the lava. After several minutes of climbing, he finally reached the summit.
"We can't let Shinnok beat Rayden!" he said. "Too bad your stuntman isn't here to help us."
"Hey, let's get one thing straight, Liu Zer, I do my own stunts." With that, he took a running jump and caught the lip of Jax's pillar. Liu Kang's jump placed him on the edge, and with a little help from Jax, he managed to keep from teetering backward. They both helped Johnny up.
"You shoulda used a stunt man, movie star." Jax grunted. Johnny scowled, but there was no time to waste. Kung Lao joined them on the ledge, and the group began ledge-hopping to the ledge where Rayden and Shinnok battled. Along the way they were passed by Sindel, who had simply started flying when the ground had crumbled.
"Cheater." Johnny grunted. Sindel's mouth opened, and a shrill cry came out, shaking the ledge supporting the two dieties and causing it to crumble. "Supercheater." Johnny said. Rayden and Shinnok leapt from their pillar onto two separate ones, neighboring solid ground. Shinnok rose into the air once again, using his bladed staff to crumble Rayden's pillar as he touched solid ground. "Ubercheater." Johnny snarled, leaping to the next pillar while Rayden teleported.
"Need a hand?" Rayden asked, grabbing Johnny's hand. The world disappeared around them in a flash of light, and then they were on solid ground. Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Jax arrived moments later.
"Now who's the cheater?" Jax quipped. Johnny scowled. Suddenly a stranger appeared, a good-looking dark-haired fellow with six girls clinging to him like he was some sort of sex-god.
"Shen Kuanghan?" Rayden asked. "The Elder Gods banished you to limbo millennia ago."
"Yes." Shen said. "I was once prayed to by young maidens having trouble getting pregnant, and I eagerly answered their prayers by impregnating them, but the Elder Gods saw my actions as a threat, fearing that my offspring would become a race of heroes against their tyranny. Shao Kahn's zealous and repetitive attempts to take advantage of Mortal Kombat for his conquest of all of existence resulted in my liberation."
"What do I have to fear from a fertility god?" Shinnok demanded. "A thunder god might have something to offer me, but you? Ha! What can you possibly do?"
"You'd be surprised." Shen replied. Shinnok's eyes widened, and he grabbed his crotch and fell to his knees.
"What are you doing?" Shinnok cried, his expression pained and surprised.
"Never thought a fertility god could bring you to your knees, eh, Shinnok?" Shen joked. "This is a little thing I invented back during my reign, which I like to call 'blue balls.' Hurts, doesn't it? I used to use it as a weapon against men who lusted for those they were not fated to have, but it works just as well on..."
"GODS!" Shinnok screamed as his agony grew.
"Indeed." Shen said, chuckling. "Lord Rayden, it's your move. I recommend you finish him before his genitals explode and he makes a mess." Shen turned his back on the scene, not wishing to witness one god killing another. The immense energies released by Shinnok's destruction sealed the barriers between the worlds, leaving only one portal open, which Rayden dove through to be back with his own people, before it closed.
Sindel glanced frantically around. Where was everybody? Jade, Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, Sonya and Li Xiang were gone! Had they escaped to the Earth Realm? Been banished?
"Hey, what's the dealio?" Johnny cage asked.
"Holly lly your friends went or were sent to Earth, along with my daughter." Sindel said. "There is a portal in the Tower which will send you there." She hugged Liu Kang tightlyI knI know of your feelings for my daughter, Liu Kang." she said. "If my daughter is on Earth, find her and take care of her for me." Liu Kang bowed to the Queen, and Sindel summoned a beast of the air to take them over the chasm to the Castle.
Epilogue:
"'The zeal of a conqueror for mastery of all that is shall be its unraveling.'" Shen Kuanghan told Kitana. "'A seated god of Earth's pantheon and one who was banished shall restore the seals, and at day's end the banished one's followers shall number six, and they will only multiply.' That is why the Elder Gods shattered the tablet on which the prophecy was written, leaving only the warning, not the result."
Kitana gave a happy coo. She was well pleased with the result, and snuggled against his leg to show it. Shen caressed one of Kitana's swollen breasts, before moving down to run his hand over her swollen belly. She wore only a collar whose symbols marked her as one of Shen Kuanghan's chosen ones.
"Thank you, Master, may I have another?" Kitana sighed. Shen smiled and caressed her sensitive breast again, running his thumbs over the engorged nipples.
