A/N: ah, my second Mundus/Sparda fic! I must say, I don't think I wrote this very well, but I also have little idea on how to improve it. I hope there isn't too much OOC... however, since so little is known about Sparda, Eva and Mundus, I think I can bend their personalities a bit.
Pairings: Sparda/Eva, Mundus/Sparda

On Saint Valentine's Evening
By Birdie
"Why can't we have a normal dad?" Dante mumbled bitterly.
Vergil frowned. "What do you mean?"
The young twin shrugged and pressed his cheek against the banister. "I dunno... I mean, our dad isn't like everyone else's, is he? While other dads are buying red roses and cute heart-shaped cards for their wives..."
Both boys turned their heads cautiously to Sparda's study. An eerie wind blew through the hallway.
"...ours spends his time explaining the importance of Saint Valentine's sacrifice and how this entire day is now nothing but a marketing scam."
"Well, he's got mother something this year, hasn't he?"
The twins rotated their heads back to peer down the banisters; they saw Eva hissing quietly down the phone to someone (probably a female friend -- the poor lady).
"It'll make mom happy." Dante muttered. Sparda rarely gave presents to anyone.
Vergil, who somehow had more experience, scoffed. "No, it would just make her tense. Mother doesn't like father giving gifts."
Dante considered that and nodded. "He gives people really weird things."
"Remember the time he said he gave his best friend a three-headed dog?"
"Oh yeah, on his friend's birthday because Valentine's Day hadn't been thought up yet. That was weird..."
"Apparently the friend actually liked the gift."
"Now that's even weirder..."

"Happy birthday Mundus!" Sparda grinned and put a large wicker basket on the writing desk. Mundus slowly shifted his red eyes from his lover's smiling face to the wicker basket, and then he exhaled. There was definitely no way he would finish his writings now... but no matter.
"Sparda, why is the basket shaking?"
The silver-haired demon raised a thin eyebrow. "Why indeed? Open it."
Mundus cast Sparda a suspicious glance, but with claw-like fingers he carefully opened the box. For about ten seconds, there was no reaction. For the next five seconds, there was just a series of blinking actions.
"Woof!!"
Finally, the words came: "Sparda, what's this?"
"It's a puppy." Came the pleasant reply.
"It has three heads."
"It's a special puppy."
Mundus rolled his red eyes and forced a smile. "It most certainly is..." he paused, turning his head from side to side to see this "special" dog better. "Ugly little bugger. It's blue in colour, if I'm not mistaken."
"Again: special puppy."
The demon world's emperor snatched his finger away just before canine teeth sank into flesh. "Vicious too." He breathed venomously.
Sparda walked around the table and put his hands on Mundus' shoulders. "You like?"
There was another pause. "Sparda," Mundus put the lid back on the wicker basket carefully. "I already have a horny organism trying to hump my leg every so often, so do I need another one?"
"I thought it would be good protection."
"And what of my 7 foot sword?"
"It can breathe ice."
"Not interested." Although the concept of a frozen statue of naked-Nevan did flit across Mundus' mind for about half a second.
"It came with a chain!" Sparda's voice was almost excited. He held up the object and gave it to the dark haired demon.
Suddenly, the dark-haired emperor seemed curious. He took the chain from his lover's pale hands and stared at it, then he yanked it from both sides. A low clang echoed through the study.
"This is some strong shit! Where did you get it from?"
"Same place as the dog. Apparently it's the same chains that held Sisyphus in the underworld."
Mundus looked into Sparda's ice-blue eyes with boredom. "You and your obsession with the human world..." but he smiled, and kissed Sparda gently on the cheek. "But I shall put this gift to good use."
Before Sparda knew what was happening, he was forced onto the table with a lip-bruising kiss. Writing equipment flew into the air, the wicker basket fell on the floor, and the puppy broke free of its container. It pounced towards Mundus with a furious zeal, but missed the demon emperor and crashed out the window.
"Is he...?" Sparda leaned up on one elbow in attempt to go check the mortality of the dog, but Mundus ground his hips to Sparda's, and the silver haired demon lost all sense of balance.
"The dog will be fine," the brunette whispered huskily. He nipped at his lover's pale ear and smiled as his actions were replied with a sensual moan. "Nothing that ugly can be killed so easily."
Sure enough, from outside the window came the screams about a rabid three-headed blue dog. However, neither Sparda and Mundus heard the cried clearly, as they were both too busy listening to the sounds of their own laboured breathing.
"Mmmm...! You're wearing too much clothes!" Sparda impatiently ripped the collar of his love's tunic into shreds with one hand.
Mundus stared at him in mild shock. "When did you become such an animal?"
Sparda wiggled on the table, his arms stretched above him in submission and his legs wrapped around Mundus' waist. "When you said I was a horny organism who humped your leg every so often." His voice was so soft it sent chills up the emperor's spine.
Mundus' lips curved up into a sly grin. "If you say so." Kissing the demon under him, he moved his hands up to stroke the blonde's strong wrists.
"What in hell--?!" Sparda pulled away as he heard the familiar clanging of metal against metal echoing through the study. He tried to pull away but was held down by his arms.
A low cackle rose from Mundus' throat as he kissed Sparda again passionately, his fingers pinching at each nipple. Sparda thrashed against the chains of Sisyphus, only to be held down by the weight of his lover over him.
"Tell me..." Mundus nipped at Sparda's bottom lip. "Do you want me inside you?"
"NO!"
The dark-haired demon sharply sharply. He suddenly realised the sight of Sparda was heartbreaking.
"Please, stop it!" there were almost tears in Sparda's eyes; he rattled against the restraints fiercely. Mundus could see a thin line of blood at his wrists. "Please... I can't do this..."
Slowly trailing his hands off Sparda's chest, Mundus sighed and let go of his end. Sparda pulled away from his bondage in anger.
"Sorry..." the emperor mumbled, wrapping his strong arms around Sparda's shoulders. "I didn't think you'd reject to it that much."
"I just don't like the position," Sparda breathed. He turned to Mundus and smiled a wolf's smile. "I prefer something more on the lines of... this!"
Before he could cry out or even contemplate anything, Mundus found himself crashing onto the floor. With Sparda straddling him. And his hands in chains.
"What the FUCK!?"
Grinning, Sparda planted a sweet kiss on Mundus' forehead. "Sisyphus' chains indeed: the prisoner is now imprisoning others."
Mundus growled, bearing his sharp incisors to terrify. However, he didn't seem truly furious with his current predicament. "I suppose I'll let you lead this once..."
The dark knight laughed. "Alright, my present to you. Happy birthday, Mundus. Te amo."
"And you too, Sparda," the emperor paused briefly to snake his tongue into Sparda's hot mouth. "Mmmm!" he couldn't help but express his pleasure as Sparda stroked him through his tunic. "This is so much better than that fucking dog."

Dante and Vergil turned their heads sharply to the sound of footsteps in the hallway: Sparda strode out of his office with a small rectangular box in hand. The twins let themselves be kissed on the forehead by their ever-optimistic father, and watched him with suspicion as he walked down to greet his wife.
There was a click on the phone as Eva abruptly finished her conversation with the friend (the last words were heard by Vergil as "Oh shit, he's here. I gotta go"). Peering from the banister, the two boys watched their father whisper words of affection into their mother's ear, before the box exchanged hands. The blonde woman opened the present slowly, hesitantly -- she had no idea what she would get.
And what she finally got, she did not expect.
"Sparda," Eva's voice had a hint of disbelief to it. The tone of voice seemed awfully familiar to the demon... "What's this?"
"It's the key to Saint Valentine's cell. You remember? The cell in which he died in?"
Eva nodded her head slowly; her lips seemed to have tightened. "Yes, I remember..."
"You like? I spent all week hunting it down in an underground cave."
"...well, it's not conventional, but it's a nice gesture..." what else was she to say?
"Well that's wonderful!" Sparda swooped down and kissed Eva on her crimson lips. "Happy Saint Valentine's Day, darling. I love you."
Eva sighed and genuinely smiled at her lovely husband. "I love you too."
