His eyes burn and there's barbed wire around his wrists and fuck it burns.
The kid's skin is turning colors and he's looking straight at him.
Barbed wire on him, all over.
They're playing carnival music and the women are crying off key.
Shit, it burns but those eyes are begging help or high water and he's never been one for getting wet.
Someone's singing "Hey, Jude".
Those women are getting annoying, but the gunshots start shushing them and they aren't wet or barbed wire, but those eyes are traps.
He brushes his hair back uselessly and pulls out the wire cutters.
-Socially condemned clothes.
Chains.
Piercings.
Tattoos.
White teeth.
Too-green eyes.
Jagged, frozen fire for hair.
Flame made flesh.
Axel.
-"Damn it, I need a job."
-Axel stuffs his lighter in his pocket.
No wallet.
He doesn't have any cash, so what would be the point?
Baggy black pants slung low.
Ratty black long-sleeved shirt.
He adjusts his clothing, hisses at the cat from next door—
Vindictive little bastard.—
And leaves.
-He stops as he spots a new store, tucked into a corner.
The paint is dark.
The people look like his stereotype.
We must all hang together or we shall all hang separately.
There's a HELP WANTED sign in the window.
-He meets the owner's nephew—Sora—two days later.
He can be sugar or acid in a given moment, and he likes Axel's thinking.
He's the sky, his skin is cloud soft, but his eyes are the ocean.
For the first time, Axel wants to get wet.
-Sora watches Axel light up the night, the metal cold in the taller teen's hand.
Everyone else thinks Axel's insane.
Sora watches the different colors Axel makes with different things.
He tells Axel that he's always wanted to see purple fire.
-Axel asks Sora about himself.
Sora tells him enough to keep the world spinning.
Axel memorizes it all.
-
When Axel finally tells Sora he loves him-Needs him-
Has to have him-
Sora asks "For how long?"
"Two days before I met you."
-It's amazing what a pyromaniac can do in bed.
-
It's easier to afford rent when two people split it…it's amazing when mind blowing sex comes with the package.-There are quite a few interesting décor opportunities for barbed wire.
-Axel is naked, covered only by a sheet, and playing with Sora's hair.
Sora rests his head on Axel's stomach and sings quietly,
"Hey, Jude, don't make it bad…"
Axel sings along.
A/N:This came from a challenge. I hope you enjoy it. It's still one of my favorite pieces. The quote referenced as to hanging belongs to Benjamin Franklin. The song quoted is "Hey, Jude" by the Beatles.
