After several seconds of diagnostic testing the camera unit activates, revealing a lowly lit yet shaking room. Dark red lights covered every surface and the chatter of a pilot filters through the audio sensors. In one corner of the small craft a man in a skin-tight suit leans into the darkest part of the drop ship preparing his rifle for action. As more comes into focus blood covers the floor of the drop ship, several marines lay crumpled in their seats with several dozen hydralisk needles protruding from their armor. One single survivor lay screaming on the floor, begging for his mother to remove the quill from his stomach, and to place his intestines back inside his body. As the camera focuses on the man in the shadowed nook, the drop ships pilot bellows over the cries of the dying man "We're just 'bout to the drop spot, you'd best be carryin' sometin' heavy to cut through these Xenos!" responding to the pilots question the man pulls out an odd bone-laden balisong, twirling it as if it were the answer to everything. Minutes later the landing hatch opens, daylight fills the area to show that the man was covered in an odd type of armor, pulsating red and masked with baleful red eyes. He was a spectre, and his job that day was to deal death to all that opposed him.
Jumping out of the hatch, the spectre darts from the open area to a small outcropping of rocks. After several seconds the spectre addresses the camera-bot, his southern drawl whispered softly "Grim Reaper: startin' mission log, Pass-code: Pale Horse. It has been bout' four days since this place has been infested by the Zerg, and in this short time the locals have mostly been killed or used as food for the young'uns. Mission objective confirmed, destruction of settlement and hive commencin', may they find peace in the river styx...." Turning swiftly, finger tracing his trigger as a small pack of zerglings charged from the settlement. Coughing a silent rain of death, all six were dropped with minimal ammo expenditure. Arcing electricity for a few moments Reapers cloaking field kicked in, his figure becoming a blur. In the corner of the cameras view-finder the words "Cloaking mode activated" were flashing as it continued following the spectre. Seemingly unseen to the enemy, yet visible to the camera he stalked to a vantage point over the hive and settlement. Pulling out a small device that he affixed to the end of his rifle he sat there and aimed, an infrared scan showed that the device emitted a laser aimed directly at the hive, several seconds went by turning slowly into minutes. Ten minutes later, a chime on the spectres armor caused him to rush back towards where he had landed, taking cover in a small cave and bracing himself flat against the rock surface. "Tactical nuke deployed, Suvivors: none, chances of retaliation, slim. All n' all, a good days work for shit pay." Moments later a large explosion is heard and the camera goes dark. Several hours later the camera is shown to have rebooted, pointed towards where the settlement used to be was nothing more than a glassed crater. Dozens of bodies lay strewn across the desert near the spectre as he takes in the scent of the air for the first time during the mission, pulling a tooth-pick from his belt he sits there chewing on it surveying the marvelous carnage. "Nothin' like a good nukin' to wake a man up'n the mornin... Eh boss?" After a few moments of static the camera shuts down. After several minutes of black static and fuzz the cameras diagnostics are ran again, an ancient funeral procession song playing in the background indicating exactly which agent was being watched. After the diagnostics finished running, the camera spots Reaper laying down a blanket of fire in a supposedly organic structure. Inhuman screams and wails echoing throughout the halls as each bullet finds their mark, bodies lay strewn across the floor in various states of dismemberment. Continuing a snails pace further into the odd structure the wall nearest Reaper detached and revealed a hydralisk rearing to fire his spines into the unaware spectre. As if tipped off by something other than his eyesight he shifted his rifle to one arm still firing into the wave of gnashing teeth and slashing claws, reaching to a bone shaped handle on his back. In one smooth motion he pulls out a cruel, and serrated blade disemboweling and decapitating the hydralisk in one complete movement, a cold heartless laugh echoing as he did so. As he continues firing a small picture of a brain with lighting coming out of it is seen on the corner of the screen "Grim Reaper: Mission log update, Pass-code: Pale Horse. It's been over a month since my last mission, this'uns a real doozy. I've been sent by the brass to back up a squad of good ol' boys attempting to rescue some farmers... or scientists... shit I really just don' give a fuck, as long as I get to give the zerg some of my good ol' fashioned lovin' in the form of a good dozen lead supplements to the skull! However an issue 'rose 'bout an hour ago, in the form of losing contact with the grunts. Now, that means any of about three things, one they got careless and got killed by some Zerglings, two they got bitten by some Hydralisks, or three and I REALLY hope it ain't three... They got torn apart by a pissed off Ultralisk... so now, 'stead of being out here for a lesiurely stroll and detonation, I'm stuck supporting them INSIDE the buildin. That is, if the armor-jockies can even make it out alive..." Still firing into the crowd and occasionally dealing with one that gets too close with his "Scythe" he slowly makes his way deeper into the pulpy, fleshy mound that once may have been some bodies house, continuing to fire the crowds lessened, and the blood slowly started covering the first few corpses that were made. Arms and legs strewn everywhere, skulls and stomachs torn open by the terrible work of his armor piercing and explosive rounds, some turning into literal pulp and unidentifiable masses of twitching, still occasionally screaming bodies. Digging deeper into the mound Reaper finally found where the squad had been lost, a human head still partially covered by the visor of a marine stared with its dead eyes up at the operative, a loud trumpeting roar signified which of the three it was. "Well, well... I guess I gotta' deal with a blade-mammoth now.... lazy ass marines..." Before he could continue the Ultralisk charged, bearing down on him with unnatural speed. Vaulting higher than a human should have been able to, and running along the back of the enraged behemoth Reaper turned and fired three rounds into the back of its head, irritated and having part of it's scalp missing the ultralisk turned only to fail to realize what Reaper had actually done. Pressing the detonator the Ultralisk turned from a hundred tons of threat to a large fiery, pulp as the building demo charge went off in the exact middle of the beast. Reaper walked towards the distress signal the grunts were following only to find a wall of creep covered Neo-steel and a large containment door. Opening the door and finding only a single survivor Reaper seemed irritated and signaled a evac, seeing to the young woman only to recieve a metal pole to the head and to subdue her with a quick back hand before setting out to make a sky-light, grabbing a cluster of grenades from the marines and throwing them to detonate the ceiling, creating a way to evacuate without having to deal with more zerg. "A group of good ol' boys dead, and for what... a young girl with some serious psi readings and a ungrateful attitude to her savior?... Not worth it I swear.... Rest'n peace boys, Rest'n peace! End log, Pass-code: Apocalypse" One second later the camera shuts off, leaving nothing but static again. Static remains for several minutes before the funeral music plays again, indicating a new mission. After running the diagnostics the camera sees a crowded market in some rural back-water planet, following a man with a clean shaven face and a wild eyed look. Following silently for several moments the camera notes the location of three other camera units and what seemed to be two men and a woman with a similar look, all heading towards the same building, a similar brain symbol shows up in the corner. "Grim Reaper: start mission log, Pass-code: Pale Horse. Me and a group of other spookies have been stuck here on this back-water, one horse planet in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere. It wouldn't be so bad if'n I weren't here on orders to bring in a suspected shadowguard. Out of obligation I need to list the call-signs of my spectre brothers and sister. Short and rusty over there in red is 'War' Tall and bald in white next to the ginger is 'Conquest', and the emaciated woman in green is 'Pestilence'. Guess that makes me Death... suited I s'pose, our assignment is to track down and bring in any shadowguards, ghosts, or hell even civvies with high PSI ratings. Guess the bosses want to make more of us... wonder why?" clearing their way through the crowd they reach an alleyway that leads to their destination, a bunker-like building with three guards watching for any signs of hostility, the symbol on their uniforms marking them as members of the Umojan Protectorate. Imediately they spotted the quartet and aimed their rifles at them, but before they could fire a trio of small barks filled the hall and the protectorate thugs head were riddled with large holes the size of golf balls, viscera and bone-like material still visible through the newly made viewpoints. "Pestilence you're on spotter duty, keep us posted. Everyone else suit up and prepare to drag those Psi punks out one by one!" Conquest as always making an ass out of himself by spouting orders took point when they were disguised. "An' this is why I fuckin hate Conquest, a glory hog and someone who thinks they can control all other spectres. Hell his psi ratin' is only 'bout eight, barely a teek while out of the four of us Pestilence an' I have the highest at solid tens." All four cameras still cloaked followed their spectres deep into the building, Kerabos following Reaper ever-faithfully. Half-way through the building the group splits up, covering more ground and ready for a fight, Reaper gliding down the corridor without an issue under the guise of "Tobias Reiper", his security badge spoofed to look like him. Finding a small dorm-like location hidden behind a high security vault Reaper stalked down into the dorm only to feel almost a solid wall of psionic activity, tapping the comm in his ear he relayed directions to the rest of the team and also called in the strike squad that the spectres were to use to get the psionic toys out. Stalking into the room of a rather unimpressive five point four scale teep, Reaper was able to see his soon-to-be captive, sleeping in her bed calmly and unaware that a being of nearly double her psionic ability stood over her prone and to his surprise naked form. While her psionic potential was not exactly great, Reaper seemed utterly infatuated by the woman in front of him. If she were standing she would have been about five six, only about one-eighty pounds and a very fit and trim body as was seen through her covers. As if wanting to see more, Reaper waved his hands over her blanket, an invisible force slowly drifting it off her. His minds voice whispering to the cameras psionic detector "Day'um, If only I had more than five minutes.... Oh well, looks like I gotta break this kitten and enjoy a nice.... Mentor slash student relationship... heh, heh, heh...." Despite being whispered the woman seemed to hear him, waking startled and attacking without much warning she slams her heel into Reapers stomach, but to her dismay it only yielded and he slammed her back down to the bed with a forceful blast of Telekinesis "Now kitten, you should know better than to flash claws at a tiger... now I'll give you two options, come with me peacefully.... or try to resist again!" emphasizing his last words by pointing his needle gun at her head, finger primed. She seemed to consider her two options for a while before letting her leg go slack, naked and vulnerable against her cot Reaper had a hard time not forcing himself upon her, reminding himself there would be time for that later. Staring into her eyes Reaper entered her mind and forced it to freeze, using his Psionic Shock to stun her and going deeper to use one of his unique abilities "Psionic Imprinting" in which Reaper would be able to use her own mind against her more or less making her a perfect "student" for him. She slackens even further, the shock taking effect and causing her to be frozen within her own mind, her last thoughts were read to have been absolute terror. "This little kitten will be indoctrinated into the Spectre corps, such promise from such a weak PSI index. She is a five now, but after the terrazine and jorium she will be put even further than Conquest potentially. I am going to be honest in saying, I want her for my own... and I will sabotage anyone else who tries to take her from me. This kitten is the perfect little toy to become my newest... 'Scythe'..." After dressing her in a uniform he found in her drawers Reaper sat there and maintained the shock much to the dismay of the poor woman, almost out of nowhere a timid knocking sounded from outside the door. Startled Reaper sat there and scanned the new presence, a woman about the same age as his "Kitten" but possessing a greater psi index of seven-point-five "Talina.... l..look I'm sorry about earlier, I had no idea that you were trying that in training.. can I please come in?" Reaper padded over to the door and unlocked it, letting the woman in who was not even aware of his presence. Moving quickly he knocked her out with a blow to the back of the head, laughing coldly in his mind as he entered the new womans' mind and imprinted on her too. Four and a half minutes later loud explosions rocked the underground academy, marines from the tac-squad rappelling in and opening fire on the students with a mix of stun and live rounds. "Looks like our fishing was a success, Pesti head into the building and rendezvous at our location." Conquest sounding full of himself chattered over the radio, "Looks like we got a bunch of recruits, also looks like this will be the last recording with you Kerabos... you've been a good companion over the past few months, goodbye... End log, Pass-code: Apocalypse" Static, and then nothingness...While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
