Hello all. This story was originally published by myself on Hentai Foundry in Christmas 2009. It's a shortie, but hopefully a goodie. The plot is a little dark, but what do you expect from a zombie apocalypse?

She couldn't hear her own thoughts over the sounds of gunfire. A large muscular ape-like creature came lumbering around the corner, producing a horrible roar that hurt her ears. It focused its small dead eyes on its prey. Zoey ran the other way, her new friends right behind her. She turned her head only to empty a clip of SMG bullets into the beast. The old man stopped for a second to throw a bottle with a gas soaked rag behind them. The bottle burst into flame on the ground and the thing ran right through it, fire now burning its rough hide. Up ahead was a large building (it looked like it was once a shopping mall) which had a heavy iron door that had been left open.
"In there!" Bill shouted. They were all firing behind themselves as they dove into the door and Zoey slammed it shut behind them. She then locked it and threw her back against it. They all listened as the door shook violently at first, then less and less until they heard nothing. The collective exhale of the four survivors was the first comforting sound she had heard all day. After a moment of silence, Louis spoke up.

"So, where to next?" Bill held a cigarette up to his lips and lit the end. His hands were steady.

"To the airport. The hell with the military. If we can get a plane maybe we can find some place in the world that's not overrun by those things."

"Can any of us fly a plane?" Zoey asked.

"I can," Bill said. "You're all glad I was here when this started. Let's set up camp here for the night, I'm sure there'll be some food and supplies around. And don't worry, this place was quarantined early on so we won't be getting any surprise visitors in the middle of the night."

Despite what he said, the mere mention of such a possibility made her shiver. She had been in her sophomore year at College. Now it seemed, she would never graduate.

I always remember feeling like I had no idea what guys like him went through--that I'd never truly be able to comprehend it. Now, I think I understand.
