Chapter 1-Intro
(Bear with me, its just the into and the setting) It was another bone chillingly cold night in the land of Skyrim. A lone figure rests comfortably against a nearby oak tree, barely visible in the darkness. It is hard for darkness to touch the land of Skyrim, as much of the land is covered in snow and ice, but tonight seemed different. The figure rises to his feet, his name is Primus Cato. He is a proud Imperial young man of no more than 18, and yet his face bares the signs of many battles. He is clad in his Imperial studded armor, that his father and his fathers father had worn before him. Being a legionary ran in his blood, and he would sooner die before he let his family down. Primus brushes of the snow that has accumulated on his shoulders while he kept watch. Judging by the angle of the moon Primus guesses his time on watch is just about wrapping up. This thought is furthered by the rustling behind him. Primus turns slowly and calmly to see another legionary coming to take his place. They share a quick nod before progressing silently past each other. The other slightly older legionary takes a seat in the now snowless patch where Primus had just been resting. Primus now free of watch duty, takes a seat around the fire with many other legionaries, all listening to the oldest of their group recount stories of the Great war. Primus removes his helmet, letting his short, blonde military hair cool off in the chilling air. He was a broad young man, not monstrous like many of the barbaric Stormcloaks, but sturdy from years of fighting. He removes his bow and quiver from his shoulders and lets himself relax, setting the weapons down carefully on the ground next to his warm helmet. The old legionary now finishing up his grand story of dragon slaying, and maiden saving, took a seat and the circle around the fire became silent. Primus knew this was the time to return to his tent, the group was scattering for the night and Primus needed his sleep. He walked over to his tent briskly, removed his beloved family armor, boots and bracers, and folded them neatly next to his tent. He crawled into his Snow bear pelt bed and felt himself drift off to sleep. His sword, quiver, bow and helmet resting on top of his armor giving him comfort as he began dreaming of his warm heartland home. Primus awoke well rested the next morning to a sunny day in his Imperial camp, the shadow of High Hrothgar landing just shy of the camp ground. He rose to his feet, men already changing watch duty. Today was a good day to be a legionary. Primus dawned his armor and weaponry, in a good mood when he looked up and noticed a strange woman approaching. She was nordic without a doubt, but she had an air of intelligence about her, as she strode confidently into the camp. Primus knew this was a breach of imperial code and took it upon himself to remind this woman where she was. He strode up to her and realizing his mistake just as he reached her. When Primus was just but a meter from her, he stopped and his jaw went slack. "This is the Dragon Born!" he thought to himself. He paused a moment to long and forgot where he was, in the middle of an imperial camp gawking at possibly the most powerful living human in all of Tamriel. By the time Primus realized where he was the Dragon Bron was speaking to him in a commanding tone "Soldier! You gonna let my though or stare jaw dropped like an idiot?" Primus taken aback by her tone, caught his wits and decided Dragon Born or no she still had to go through the popper channels to gain access to the camp. "Excuse me ma'am but this is a secure Imperial Camp, unless you have business here i am going to have to ask you to leave" exceptionally proud of himself. "Business? BUSINESS? I am here on the orders of your own General Tullius himself!" almost yelling "And if you dont let me talk to the Legate in charge, then your going to have a very bad day" she threatened. Primus now filled with fear, paused a moment to long. She took the chance to respond before he could "Good then unless you have anymore stupidity left in you ill be in the Legates tent." as she bushed past him, her blonde hair flowing behind her, bobbing with each of her confidant steps. Primus could hear the chuckling of the other legionaries, as the whole camp had gone silent while they had talked. Primus broke out of his frozen stupor, and walked over to the grindstone, humiliated, by the Dragon Born no less! Primus sharpened his Imperial sword in his building anger and moved to the work bench afterwards. Primus hammered and tweaked his shield and armor, for what seemed like forever to him. He was just finishing his armor when out of the tent he heard the familiar gruff tone of his Legate "Primus, in here, NOW" Primus equipped his gear and did as he was told, frightful of the Dragon Born and his Legate waiting inside. Primus entered as proudly as he could, hiding his inner fear as he had done so many times before a battle. He strode up to the table, saluting before answering his call with "Legate?" The Legate, a strong hardy Nord with a shaved head and burly build continued as if he and the Dragon Born had been having this conversation just before Primus entered "As you can see, every Legionary here is at full combat readiness." The Dragon Born, who only now Primus was beginning to admire, was clad in Steel plate armor. Primus recognized it from other adventurers he had the displeasure of encountering. Primus hated adventurers, they embodied everything he opposed, carelessness, and a disconnect to family and honor. But like everything else about the Dragon Born her armor was different, it glowed with a faint blue hue, and the intricate carvings showed battle scenes with dragons and drougr emblazen in fire. Primus caught himself staring at her chest, and lifted his eyes immediately, only to be met by hers and an awful sneer across her face. "See something interesting Legionary?" She stated in the most frightening tone Primus has ever heard. The Legate intervened before Primus could defend himself replying for him "Primus, hold your tongue. Id like you to meet Bera Olesthal, the Dragon Born. Now before you speak, you are now assigned to be her protector for the legion."
