A faint rumble in the distance drew Rui’s attention from her magazine as well as woke Espeon from her sleep on the redheads lap “what was that?” Rui pondered whilst Espeons whiskers started to twitch sensing a change in the air pressure, glancing out the window she noticed that the endless waves of blue sky were cut off in the horizon by jet black clouds “are those….rain clouds?”
Putting her magazine down as Espeon hopped off of her lap Rui made her way to the window feeling the soft breeze that had been coming through it begin to change into a slightly colder and stronger one as she stared at the clouds with almost confusion, it almost never rained in the Orre Region, the entire continent getting its moisture from underground reservoirs and in the six years she had spent with Wes since meeting him she couldn’t recall a single day when it wasn’t filled with blazing sunshine, Wes had even told her himself that Orre was a desert Region simply because it was the first continent made by Groudon and being so made it its favourite and in its eternal feud with Kyogre cursed its land so that rain could never settle upon its soil
As she continued to stare at the approaching clouds Rui heard the garage door open and shortly afterwards Wes was stood in the doorway with a strange almost excited glint in his eyes and a wicked grin on his face “wanna go for a ride?” he asked as his eyes seemed to keep darting to the window
“A ride? You mean on your bike? Why?” the redhead replied with suspicion in her voice “if it’s going to rain shouldn’t we stay inside?” she asked to which Wes just insisted that they go out prompting Rui to relent with a sigh following Wes to the garage thinking that he probably just wanted to go to Pyrite Town or Agate Village for something
