Azran and Gharni had taken Felidorae's fainting spell as a sign that they should make camp. Azran had picked up the elf's senseless form and carried her up the hill he and Gharni had come down and held her while Gharni and Xlandria the old hall suitable for living. Azran laid Felidorae upon the blanket Gharni had laid out for him inside the upper floor of the dilapidated town hall in the ruins of Tranquilen. Azran, Gharni and Xlandria regarded their new acquaintance as she lay upon their bedding.
"She shouted something as she collapsed," said Gharni. "What does 'asren' mean?" "I don't know," replied the Warlock. "I thought you were fluent in both of the elfish tongues," said Xlandria. "She was in the middle of a faint," said Azran. "It may well have just been gibberish no matter what the language." "Azran, that ring on her finger; it's identical to the ones you gave to me and Xlandria. Where did she get it from?" "I don't know," said Azran. "Is it possible that she meant to say your name as she fainted?" asked Xlandria. "She seemed to know you and fainting is a rather odd reaction to meeting a stranger." "I don't know!" shouted Azran. "I'm sorry my ladies but I'm as clueless as you are as to what this all means." "Azran…" began Gharni. She hesitated, fearing she would not like the answer to her questions, but knew they must be asked. "You told us that you once lived in this land; did you know many of the High Elves who lived here? Is it possible you knew this woman and simply don't recognize her?" "I… I don't know," he replied. "So it could be possible?" asked Xlandria. "No… yes… I mean…" Azran sighed. "I mean I don't know if I knew many of the inhabitants of this land." "What do you mean 'you don't know'?" asked the now indignant Orc. "I mean that I can't recall most things from my life as a human," said Azran. "I remember the skills I learned in magic and the sciences and trades, and I remember the land and the towns I traveled to and from, and I remember speaking Thalassian and the human's Common tongue, and I remember… I remember being run through by the blade of a skeletal warrior. I remember dying; I just can't remember living. It's like a faded dream which leaves behind only a feeling, an impression, but no details." Just then Felidorae began to stir. She awoke to find the trio standing over her. Her eyes immediately went to Azran. Felidorae was suddenly bolt upright on her knees before the Warlock and began clenching the folds of his robe in her fists. "Anar'alah Asren!" she cried out. "Ni shando diel thus shinde lo fallah zaram!" Tears began to stream down the elf's cheeks as she pressed her face into the folds of his robes "What is she saying Azran?" asked Gharni. "We need to know!" Azran looked at his brides. The desire to know the truth before his lovers was strong, even if only to put a stop to the confusion the situation was likely to cause, but he knew that if their bond was to last that he could not keep secrets from them; even secrets he was not aware of himself. "She said 'by the Light Asren, I thought you had fallen to our enemy's blade'," he translated. "Asren seems to be a name… my name if I was who she thinks I am." Azran continued to translate for Felidorae as she spoke. "You've come back to me my beloved. Please hold me, hold me in your arms as firmly as you did the day we were wed." Gharni clenched her jaw, fighting the urge to shove this interloper away from her newly wedded husband. Suddenly she felt the sensation of two soft breasts being pressed into her back. From behind Gharni, Xlandria wrapped her arms around the shoulders and waist of the orc who, for the first time in her life, felt the pangs of true, romantic jealousy. Though Xlandria herself was incapable of jealousy she was quick to recognize it in others and knew that the last thing the situation needed was an angry orc added to the mix. "Azran," said Xlandria, drawing her lover's attention from the sobbing elf at his feet. "You need to do as she asks. Hold her until she can calm herself." As Azran knelt and enfolded Felidorae into his arms Xlandria whispered into Gharni's ear. "Shush my love. If what Felidorae says is true then she is about to suffer in horrible agony and there is nothing we can say or do that will alleviate her pain. Azran's presence has reopened a wound in her soul which had long since become a scar." With this, Xlandria pulled Gharni gently to the ground with her and the two sat, watched, and held each other. After a time, Felidorae's sobbing diminished and Azran loosened his hold on her so that he could look her in the face as he spoke to her in Thalassian and then again translated his own words for Gharni and Xlandria's sake. "I'm sorry my lady, but I did indeed fall on on the field of battle when the scourge invaded these lands. I'm afraid that I do not remember my life before then. Even if I was once the man that you think I am, I am no longer. The man you knew died that day." "No! You are my beloved; I don't care what you've become!" Felidorae held her right hand out to Azran displaying the sparkling amethyst and silver ring on her finger. "You promised yourself to me for all eternity, not just until death. I am yours and you are mine; forever!" Abruptly, Felidorae stood upright and flung her shield at Gharni. It bounced off of the orc, then struck Xlandria and finally Frekaz, momentarily stunning all three of them. Felidorae was then surrounded by a golden bubble of energy. She drew a small, white stone from her pocket and wrapped her arms tightly around Azran, pinning his arms to his sides. A breathy, arcane sound could be heard as Felidorae's hands began to glow with a green light. "You are mine… FOREVER!" declared Felidorae. Azran's companions regained their senses and began to attack the elf in an attempt to pry her away from the warlock but their actions had no effect. Suddenly, Felidorae and Azran faded from sight. Xlandria, unable to maintain her connection to her master, faded away a moment later leaving Gharni in the dilapidated hall, alone save for a confused worg. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
