Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you again for sticking with the story. I guess if you have been keeping up I must be doing something right. Still taking requests/suggestions on what pokemon Kenshi should run into and ram into.

Regional Recovery: One reason Johto has recovered so well is largely due to the powers and locations of those who protected it's Pokemon. The guardian of fire was able to scorch the dead plant life to a state of ash which to fertilize the ground. The guardian of water was able to purify the inland rivers, ponds, and lakes to where they supported pokemon returning to them. The Gurdian of Thunder was able to call forth mighty storms to wet the land and further rejuvenate the soils. Lastly the guardian of the forest was able to spread the seeds from the forest on the winds caused by the Guardians of thunder, Sun, and Sea. This has resulted in most maps of Johtos Pre cataclysmic forestry to be fairly accurate if not actually behind in terms of how far the forest has begun to encroach.
Post Bunker Plans: Most Bunkers where given similar instructions to follow once the world became reclaimable. For New Bark and presumably all others, the first major instruction was to be gathering or producing as much building material as possible. This includes Stone, brick and mortar, concrete, iron and aluminum. Materials like Wood and Glass would be producible above ground, as wood should have been presumably easy to come by. Similarly they where tasked with improving on recycling methods, as they where going to have to make due with what they already had or could gain from the bunker. This was to help insure that any surviving structures would in turn be used for the new world, as a part of the effort to both reclaim the old world, but forge their own path heading forward. There was also a plan to create more direct paths through the routes between towns. This would make it easier for them to transport materials and avoid unnecessary run ins with pokemon, as pokemon haven't seen humans in over 80 years, and thus very few would be familiar with them.

The Reclaimer of New Bark Bunker: Chapter 9: Old interests.
Kenshi would be eating with his team getting ready to explore Ecruteak city after his day of fun and rest. He would get his Reclaimer Nav out having left it silent during his trek and fun. He had two messages, One from the day the Goldenrod Bunker opened, and one from yesterday. Starting the first message he would sit up against the back of the tent. “Hey Little bro, I guess you've become aware that the Goldenrod Bunker has been opened. It was good that you where able to find that problem with the hatch. From what I understand it kicked the people of the Bunker into wanting to get out, and has helped their spirits considerably. It seems that their people where starting to feel the effects of being stuck down there. With their bunker also Open we've been contacted by the Blackthorn Bunker and they ask that you try to make a path straight to them. Wanting to know if it's safe to come out, and fully bring all of the Johto Bunkers back into play.” Kenshi had a grin spread across his face feeling pride in his efforts. Knowing that they wanted his help and that he was helping people.
“Don't feel the need to rush though, There's a big town between golden rod and Blackthorn that I heard you where already heading to by the Goldenrod Bunker. So take your time. I've also attached data to this message, plug it into your pokedex to download it. Be good kiddo, and be safe.” Tamius smiled as the message ended. Kenshi would plug it into the dex. He would look at the new data, before he coughed in shock as a flush burned quickly across his cheeks all the way up to his ears. It contained data on breeding habits of pokemon. Explaining that pokemon in the wild had different habits then those tamed and breed by humans. It also had a section provided by apparently the first pokephiliacs of the bunker on what pokemon where good for wild sex. Though not all the pokemon had sections like this due to it being strongly tied to pokemon in Johto. There where those in Kanto and Kalos as well, which would make sense as Kalos and Kanto had kept strong ties with Johto, so it's possible their Pokephiliac communities would of as well. Still it was neat to get and Kenshi definitly intended to read some of them while just treking along later on. For now however he had another message to listen to and then he was going to get the recorder out, and atleast check on w hat was left of Ecruteak city before starting a power march for Blackthorn.
“Hey little bro, Hope you're okay. You haven't reported in and I would of expected something by now reaching a town as important as Ecruteak. Speaking of the Blackthorn Bunker is willing to give up the original bells that had been used there if the Bell tower is still standing. Also while they do want you to get there, they want you to check out the lake of rage as well. From what I was told one of the Guardians is likely there. Given the whole lake thing, I'd hazard that it's Suicune. Best of luck bro. Remember to check in.” Kenshi would check the map, lake of rage wasn't to far out of the way. Infact he could probably reach it by the end of the day if he didn't really run into any issues along the way.
Invigorated Kenshi got dressed and left the tent only to find a whole bunch of things sitting around it. Boxes and books and such. “Wha?” Asked the confused trainer. Serenity would be flushing standing next to him mouth agape. “Uh, S Striker said that the natives of the city left these, last night, after hearing us.” Kenshi blinked. “Natives?” Serenity nodded. “There was a Ghost type gym in the city and uh it had strong ties to ghost pokemon outside of that.” He would flush, had they been watching him and his team? There was a bit of embarrassment but also kind of a thrill. It was all very confusing. He would open up one of the boxes and feel the burning in his face intensify. It was all pictures of, well, people and pokemon, doing the thing he had been doing yesterday. Kenshi decided to just pack all of it into his backpack and sort it out later. He had things to do! He had to, stuff!
After packing up all of that into his backpack he would pack up the tent and gather his team. “Alright guys. Our first goal is to do a quick look around ecruteak but we are going to head out and not do the deep search. Blackthorns asked us to head to them and make sure it's safe, and also wants us to check out the lake of rage so, we are going to do that!” They nodded as he got out the recorder. “Reclaimer yakato reporting in, Day...” he did a quick check on his nav. “Nine, I've been in Ecruteak city for a day after an run in with the Thunder guardian, which has been in the National park.” He would walk around. “The buildings seem in good shape, and the Tower is standing. It seems to have become a bit over grown but for how long it's been here it's standing and looks stable. I will begin my trip to reach the Lake of rage and hope to be close by days end. Reclaimer Yakato signing out!”
Kenshi would head east, focused on his task of reaching the lake. When he passed through he would notice instantly the large moutain and water way near where he was standing. “Mt. Mortar,” Kenshi would check his map. He was surprised, he could stil see through the path fairly well. And he could even see the edge of the next town over. The key was getting across the water. “Why not have Typhoon carry you over Kenshi?” Serenity offered. “It's not very far a short flight over each of the rivers shouldn't be to bad. Not to mention his sheer size he could probably fly you all the way back home without to much trouble.” Kenshi would consider this and after a few minutes it definitely made sense. “Alright, Typhoon!” the large pidgeotto would come from it's ball as he would get down as Kenshi carefully climbed on his back. “Alright, Just, be careful.” He was not use to flying and was a little scared as he called back Serenity and Striker.
Kenshi held on tight when Typhoon suddenly shot into the air as a harsh blast of wind hit him in his young face as he shut his eyes tight as he felt a Thud. He would open his eyes and look around. “Whoa..” he looked behind him seeing that Typhoon had just blown through the entire route quickly. They now sat not far from the path into Mahogany Town. He got off Typhoons back patting his side, “Thank you Typhoon.” The large bird puffed it's chest in pride. Kenshi would notice a small clearing to his right, the southern part of the path had a large apricorn grove growing, with green yellow and pink. He would call his team back out so they could quickly gather up the harvest from the grove, he would then head into the small little town with them, eager to see what stood.
That Proved to not be much. The gym was just ice over and the Center looked to just be empty. The rest of the buildings seemed to have come down from time though he noticed there seemed to be a path leading down that had been collapsed in. The pokemon center was just as empty and abandoned as most of the others. Kenshi had to stop and think. His young mind raced remembering the towns so far. Only Goldenrods Pokemon center had been over taken. He had spotted other pokemon in the margins between buildings there, but for the most part the towns where empty. Left to be consumed. Why? The second time he really had interactions with pokemon in town was Ecruteak due to the ghosts living the books and boxes, but they didn't really interact with him. Though he realized he hadn't really tried to having run out wanting to help blackthorn as soon as possible. Now the Gym was just coated in ice. The map said the gym had been Ice type so, where there Ice pokemon living in there? Somewhere they had a small haven in Johto which didn't have a lot of areas naturally hospitable to ice types? Had the Guardians more or less taught pokemon to leave these areas alone for the most part? Where they just naturally scared of buildings? That might make sense, large blocks of wood, stone, brick, and iron just, arranged together in odd groupings? With these large odd tunnels surrounding them? That would probably scare off pokemon.
That would explain the Ghost pokemon. Of all pokemon to still remember what towns and cities where, it would be them. Goldenrod he wasn't sure about, he could only assume it was so big that some pokemon had to eventually start resettling there. He'd have to backtrack and check Olivine and if possible Cainwood to see if this held up in other towns. For now though he had his focus. Typhoon had cut a good couple hours off so he would head north. As they got past the gate way to the Lake he noticed it was drizzling. Kenshi stopped feeling the water hitting his skin. “Is this.. Rain?” His whole trip out here he had yet to really see rain clouds or anything that odd. It had been clear sunny days and clear beautiful nights, with the odd cloud here or there. But having been focused on moving forward Kenshi hadn't seen either the existing cloud cover, or the cloud cover that had rolled in. He would quickly call River out to join Striker and Serenity, and peeled his hoodie off packing it into his backpack quickly and zipping that up making sure it was secure. Once it was he would continue onward with his pokemon.
River was enjoying the rain as it soaked into her skin refreshing her, while Striker was not as pleased. Serenity gently teased the Dark type about the way his hair was now stuck to his face in a rather ridiculous manner, only for him to flick his head and catch her in the face with it. River would snicker at their antics as Kenshi turned blinking wondering what was going on, only to see Serenity huffing. Kenshi shrugged heading onward to the lake, confused but ultimately seeing that it was harmless, what ever it had been. Once he reached the edge of the lake he would kneel down touching the water. By now the drizzle had turned into a light but steady rain, and his skin felt the wind blow through chilling him a little. That all didn't matter much now, touching the water sent off some kind of chime that made the world feel still.
Kenshi slowly stood looking out towards the center of the lake, sensing it. The same feeling of power he had felt at the National park. Though unlike the park it wasn't as crushing, he didn't feel nervous like he was being judged. He saw it standing there, the soft billowing of it's mane and ribbon like trails. It's beautiful blue fur and crystalline shaped head piece, as it slowly walked towards him. “Welcome to my domain Human,” the sounds of a soothing, motherly voice called through his mind. “You are the first living Human I have seen in a long time.” Kenshi nodded “S suicune!” He felt excitement like he had with Raikou but without the crushing sense of judgment to quell it. “Yes child, I am the first Suicune, reborn from the power of the Mighty life bearer of the rainbow feathers.”
Kenshi would give a little squeal in excitement then stopped. “Wait, First? As in, there are others?” The mighty beast nodded, now close to the shore. “Yes, my children born after the great Cataclysm wander the lands seeking places to help heal the world.” Kenshi perked up, Yes, of course! She was female she could breed more suicune! That's how pokemon breeding worked right? Then he would let that thought lead him to Raikou. “So there must only be one Raikou though, right?” The Suicune raised her eyebrow a bit confused. “Why do you ask that child?” He would straighten himself some coughing into his hand. “Well with pokemon breeding the egg always takes on the mothers species unless the 'mother' Is a ditto.” He explained as he figured she would know he ran into the Guardian of thunder. “Ah, Yes the ones not of our,” She paused, “Stature, For us the Father can in fact over ride the mother.” Kenshi would perk up. “Really? How?” He was curious, there was nothing on the breeding of Legendary pokemon.
Kenshi would be pull his Dex out as the rain seem to ease some around him as he got it out and closed his Backpack again. “Alright young one, Firstly the Male must fine a compatible mate. Their species must be receptive to our own. Then he must find one of these potential females that is extraordinary strong. If the Female is not strong enough they will not survive birthing the egg.” Kenshi was writing this down into the dex as he would look up. “Oh, yeah that does make sense, considering how much stronger your kind are from normal pokemon.” The Water Guardian nodded. “What about for you, as a female?” He wondered, “Do you simply need a strong male to mate with and lay the egg yourself like normal?” She was happy to see that the human sent out to explore the world was well taught, even if he was young, “Yes young one. It also has the benefit that I can produce more off spring then my Brothers.” Kenshi nodded. “Where is your brother of fire? The one called Entie?” The motherly beast signed, “He spends most of his time at ruins inhabited by odd pokemon that make up a language that humanity learned from long ago.”
Kenshi blinked, The only ruins he could think of where... Alph! He had passed them due to the oddly pristine condition of the path leading there and the odd sense that something was there. It had been the third Guardian beast? If his knowledge from old records plus what he had seen this would mean that the guardians of Johto where at, the lake, the park, the ruins, the islands, the forest, and Probably either Mt. Mortar or close to it so they could return to the old Bell Tower. “My brother said he sensed you passed, and the one closer to me Said you passed through his territory. I was filled with joy to hear that a human was traveling the land again, as the last humans to come out fell ill and perished trying to get home. Even with our power we cannot of saved them. We had to stop them from entering their safe houses and risk spreading the illness inside.” Kenshi would listen. The dented bunker door? That had been them? He sat down taking that in. The first reclaimers had left to early, only to suffer the same fate of all those who had been caught outside the bunkers when the Cataclysm struck. The motherly beast would gently nuzzle his cheek. “I wish there was more to it, I'm sorry if that isn't closure enough for you young one.”
Kenshi would smile some at her nuzzling. “Thank you, it will be nice to inform the others about all of this.” He would gently put a hand on her cheek. “If you do not mind, I would like to show the bunker that you are here.” She would nod stepping back a bit as he got his recorder out. He turned it on smiling. “This is Reclaimer Yakato, Still Day 9, currently at the Lake of rage with the Mighty guardian of water. Here we see the beautiful clear water of the lake, and the still very lively forest and grass surrounding it. Similarly the Guardian has informed me that her Brother of fire resides near or in the Ruins of Alph, and I have seen her Brother of thunder in the national park.” he would quietly turn the camera to himself. “But, I have to inform you all of something important. The fate of the previous Reclaimers. They sadly left to early, and became sick, to something still not quite passed from the Cataclysm. Because of this, The guardians made it impossible for them to return to the bunkers, worried they might spread the sickness to those inside. I suspect this means that Blackthorn Bunker has a bent hatch as well. If so I would prepare a strong pokemon to break it open. Otherwise it seems like Johto is ready to be rebuilt. This is Reclaimer Yakato, Signing out.” he turned it off sighing. Sitting down as he put it away.
Suicune would quietly nuzzle up to him wrapping her legs around his small body to comfort the boy, who quietly rested his head against hers and let go as tears fell from his eyes. He wasn't sure why he was so sad, he didn't know the reclaimers, they had died long before he was born. It still was sad to him, that they had left to help their friends and family, only to have to stay away from them to avoid not getting them sick and possibly killing them all. It was upsetting to his young mind, it didn't seem fair. Serenity would gently cuddle up to his side as River and Striker would lay in the grass watching quietly. Kenshi would gently sit up, “Thank you...” She nodded nuzzling his cheek. “I will be glad to answer any remaining questions young one.” He nodded getting the pokedex back out.
“So being able to communicate with me, is that an ability of all legendary pokemon?” She would lay on the shore. “Only among the progenitors. All of us who are the first gained this power and where taught to use it by some of the best of us. Our offspring do not all have this ability mostly the naturally empathic or those who bond to a specific human much like some kinds of pokemon humans use to train.” He nodded writing it in, “Do you have any other abilities?” She nodded, “One of the strongest ability the Progenitors have though was taught through the dragons of the Unova region, is the ability to give power to Humans to help them on their journey.” He blinked looking at her, “Power? Like what?” His mind raced with ideas of him wearing a cape with the power of the Mighty Raikou using thunder punch and knocking out bad guys. “Yes, we can instill a part of our essence into a trainer, making them more resilient, and enhancing their abilities. As the trainer grows older with this it can also give them slight powers. The biggest benefit a Human of your age would obtain is being able to withstand more from nature and pokemon, enhanced stamina and endurance and, a bit more control over, parts of your body.” She said trying not to be blunt about it. A flush Burned across Kenshi's cheeks as he nodded. “Alright.”
“It grows late young one, I suggest you find a place to rest.” Suicune stood up as Kenshi nodded as he got out the tent deploying it. “I came prepared, hehe.” he smiled as the Suicune nodded lightly smiling. “Sleep well Young one.” She would head back to the center of the lake. He would smile getting in the tent with his team as he would lay out listening to the soft patter of the drizzling rain as fang used his flames to dry his soaked absol friend. Kenshi and Serenity where able to dry off easily not having thick fur. Kenshi would gently fall asleep, as out on the lake a bright blue light was shining that just barely reached the shore. Serenity would notice quietly as a soft blue glow coated Kenshi as he slept. After a bit it faded away as Serenity would smile, cuddling up to Kenshi's side.
