"this is suicide, but then again our mission always ask us to do so" said Gusurg "The fort where Emperor is guarded like a treasure. Scouting there without getting spotted even by one person is impossible. Now we got a job to hack in and kill?"
Kurt sigh "it seems HQ don't let us go about our failure but don't want to let us die too easy either. my guess is they really run out manpower, or this is their alternative to get rid of us..."
"not just that" say Imca "around here... it's basically their area. getting caught by Empire and getting shot at was one thing, but do you guys forget our 'contract'?"
Felix mutter "shit, we also count as trespasser. any trespassing soldier who got caught maybe ransomed as prisoner of war. but in our case, we were disposed from Gallia civil record, making us a brigand"
Anastagi sigh "one way to kick a dick i guess"
Kurt thinking about a few plan in mind. The fort itself is etched to the cliff, making it a gate that can't be passed without blowing it or go around unnoticed. it is also open area and may hide numerous landmines and bunker of MG. Kurt plan to infiltrate it by disguise themselves as Imperial while some of them act as prisoner of war. However Kurt aware of his own thought about landmine. If you were real Imperial, how could you don't know there was nasty trap and got caught by it when you claim you're Imperial?
"send some of our scout. observe the gate for sometime to make sure which route Imperial take to enter the fort for supplies" said Kurt
"our target may run off captain" warn Cedric
"not much option unless there's intel hide among them"
"it's nice to have some plan but we don't have Imps uniform and the truck OR paper. you don't think they are nice enough to let us off easy right?" said Giulio
"that can be arranged. i will ask commander Crowe"
Day 1 scouting the fort...
"nothing happening, over" said Valerie
Day 2
"few trucks goes in. they didn't explode or making strange route. over" said Riela
Day 3
"few APC going out. guess there's nothing on the ground over" said Alfons
"is that guts of yours talking or calorie?" taunt Anastagi
"i'm detective not oracle. out" complain Alfons
Day 4, The paper and uniform has arrived
"those truck seems going in smoothly Kurt. as if nothing were asked. over" said Riela
"don't buy that. Empire always aware of their own toy start from emblem" said Gusurg
Finally the trucks has come. Kurt along with Anastagi, Imca and Gusurg taking the seat while some pretend to be prisoner and guarding Imperial. Few complain about rope and weapon conceal, they launch the operation at night.
"Kurt, it occur to my mind just now. Should the Imperial know if there's truck coming at them?" ask Gusurg
"we held prisoner. just answer that if the radio call out"
"roger that"
Once they at the gate, they were stopped just like Kurt anticipated. They ask paper and why they didn't reporting in first. They also ask where they come from in which Kurt reply as the group who assist in kick their comrade at the village guarded by Lanseal student. All in all, everything felt off but the guard didn't think long before allow them to get inside the fort. Once they were there, Kurt and others were ordered to get back to barrack. Nod to his comrade in disguise, they split up to storm the place at the right time.
"we completely in the dark except four of us. now what?" ask Anastagi
"some guard aware of our presence so prepare the fake paper given by the HQ should someone ask. now we need to make sure where the Emperor is and when we done, we find others to make getaway"
"sounds easy but are you sure that gate is open when we go?"
"yes. if not, we make it do. when Emperor is dead, i don't think it take a minutes for guard to sound the alarm so we move fast to where our comrade is held"
"you didn't give them something to do than acting?"
"no but i give them few sneaky tools for them to get out should the heat is too much"
"what a loud assassination this gonna be"
As they enter the building, Kurt now on his own as the other split up.The long hall offer little cover and also many turn and blind spot which made to slowdown intruder like them. Anastagi honestly never do this kind of thing. When it come to kill, he just sneak at the target easy since everyone at prison only care about their well being. But here, he see everyone at ready with guns and ready to go loud at them whenever they like. They take the nerve wracking trip inside the building for hours but found no trace of Emperor until Gusurg told Kurt he found the room possibly where the Emperor Maximillian reside. Unfortunately they can't get close let alone in as the door itself is placed on the long hallway without turn or blind spot. Just thinking to waltz closer alone make them sticking out. Not to mention their paper actually doesn't reach this level.
"Anastagi, with me. if they told you to stop, do it. we knock them cold when they get close" said Kurt
Kurt instinct is right, they told them to stop and just as planned, they knocked cold and give sign to others 2 to follow. As they ready their gun, Kurt and Anastagi kick the door and aim their guns. Only to be greeted with someone who is not Emperor.
"oh what the fuck now, a black squad from thin air?" said the General
"tell us where the Emperor is" demand Kurt
"if i told you, you kill me. if not, you waste time with me. i take number two"
"stop fucking around!" shout Anastagi
"fucking? oh yeah, maybe that's what that boys doing. you bring friends here i heard. you see, i was on patrol till i heard strange noise like woman. There's just one woman here but no way she want to serve men. so perhaps she was yours? just one lady in red though"
"don't buy it Kurt, this guys bluff and loaded!" said Anastagi
"whatever you say. whatever happen to her, not my fault. and those men are not mine so i don't want to stop their fun. though she is quite a catch i admit"
"...where did you hear it?" ask Kurt
"oh you change your mind chasing the prey now?"
"answer me!"
"Kurt you got distracted man!"
"hah! this is fun. well, i just finish my job so whatever. the Emperor you looking for isn't here. tell you what, i told my men to stop firing at you to look around but if someone attack you, those men ain't mine. deal?"
"no shit? he could be sucking you off under that table" said Anastagi
Those words somehow disgust both General and the squad "man fuck you, i'm not swing that way see? now are you guys going to shoot and find the poor hot damsel or what?"
"what now Kurt? if we let him he may warn the guards. he's enemy afterall" ask Gusurg
Kurt thought for a while "why you told us? and why did you not warn others we coming? don't play dumb those finger reach onto something that could be alarm right?"
The General laugh "i'm born for battle, so i rather kill you on the battlefield. General Jaeger, remember that name!"
"something seems left off"
"what if i told you i let you guys off because we're Gallian?" ask the General
Anastagi shrug it off "bullshit"
"yeah it will be great bullshit. now get out here or the guards you knock out will wake soon. not my men by the way so i let them sounds the alarm if they did"
They were hesitant but follow his suggestion. Under Kurt order, the General left alive. Something tick on Kurt mind. Jaeger is one of the renown higher rank at the Gallia. But it could be different man as the record write him KIA in Europa War. And if he did, why does he betray Gallia?
"we search some more" said Kurt
"what about the comrade he mention? it could be Riela"
"i..."
Anastagi shrug "i find her. just find emperor and get out here fast. having someone who should kill you watching your back is unpleasant"
The prison is located deep underground. Thankfully the paper allow Anastagi to get there and inform the Imperial he is new guard here. Some of them told him that this prison is big for nothing as they are executed on next day. That's not a good news if all of 422 squad captured. He asked if they see some prisoner getting moved. The answer send Anastagi shiver.
"there's this lady. drag that beautiful redhead with tight body. should join them but the room is only fit 3. fuck i miss the virgin. oh in case you wondering, those room is beyond any level. those boys are lucky to fuck in the middle of duty"
Leaving them to their dirty mind, Anastagi hastily move to the place where one of his comrade are held. Once he reach the place, all he see is rather beaten up room as if there's explosion here. Nothing stand between him so he help himself inside.
"what the hell...they said the room is only fit 3...this is...uhh" Anastagi look at the letter "lab...orato..ry? laboratory? those are room for doctor, why is she there?"
"Anastagi? is that you?"
And the lady he search for show herself. She seems beaten by the looks but even so, her face shown sign of alertness instead.
"we need to get out here!" said Riela
"ok slow down. Kurt and others still on the hunt"
"no! the Emperor isn't here!"
"really? you sure about this?"
"i hear it from...one of soldier and they laugh at our effort. now let's go get others! Kurt and others is in danger!"
"danger from what!"
Riela seems hesitant "it's not something you believe if you heard! come on!"
Anastagi were surprised hearing the forceful tone coming from Riela but he quickly move along and help others escape. They move hastily as siren goes.
"Riela, you made it!" said Amy
"yeah, thought that they had you for good. what a quite waste if they got you like that" said Gloria aka no. 03
"thanks for your concern but we need to move!"
"what's the hurry girl? it's rare see you like this" said Leila
"There's no Emperor. and apparently, this fort is guarded by very dangerous guards!"
"hey, Alfons, does that radio of yours safe?" ask Anastagi
"yeah, why?"
"tell Kurt operation is bust. no emperor. escape plan B!"
Kurt pull out his radio. When he heard familiar voices, he breath sigh of relief. He received Riela report about her finding and when Kurt asked if she is alright, she somewhat stutter but Kurt thought she just in rush knowing they were caught trespassing. The plan B is using Imperial APC to run. But the small capacity may force them to run 3 APC instead 2. Gusurg and Kurt taking the wheels but what about the other?
"i'm chef not driver!" shout Giulio
"i failed many times" said Felix
"i paid 5000 Dc for parking on a tree. no" said Anastagi
Hearing such wasting time argument, 56 had enough and told them he drive it but he told them he only ever drive Gallian brand so if there's something off, he may left behind. Once they get the getaway car without warning any guards, they set off to the gate without care who they crash into. Seeing the unauthorized APC moving in rampage, the guard focus on the runaway squad in any manner include Lancer.
"god, if i blow to bits, at least not in- whoa!"
"don't talk in a goose chase! unless you want to bite your tongue!"
"Lancer left!" shout Anastagi
As they got closer to the gate, 56 APC crash something so hard it stop the APC on track. As the passenger dazed by the sudden jolt, they ask what happen before the APC got knocked few meters.
"Anastagi what happen there!?"
"don't know, about to check out myself!"
Anastagi and Imca jump out the APC and see it for themselves. It's a white haired lady with red glowing eyes. It's not just her eyes, her whole body is also glow with strange energy. Realizing they were facing unusual enemy, Anastagi take initiative to fire his handgun but to no avail. No scratch let alone bullet mark.
"shit, what kind of fuckery that emperor did now!"
"those are Valkyria..." mutter Imca
"you know about that glowing bitch?"
"yes...in fact, she is what i'm looking for"
Anastagi reminded of Kurt promise to aid Imca in search of something. This Valkyria is her target? That being is surrounded in blue fire and capable to stop full speed APC easily. How they gonna beat it?
"i assume you know how to beat her?" ask Anastagi
"no. but i intend to try!" shout Imca before charging off
Ignoring Anastagi warning, Imca charge at the mysterious lady with such velocity. Most of Imca move could proof fatal if it were human but this is Valkyria, a powerful being. All of Imca attack were blocked and the speed of that Valkyria is beyond lightning, making this battle too much for 422 squad. As the Valkyria block the attack, it finally had enough of Imca pesky attack and with one swing of her shield, she were knocked far off from others. Realizing there's still Anastagi, the Valkyria aim her lance at the APC.
"if you don't follow my words" the lance glowing "i destroy your comrade to pieces and then you"
Anastagi isn't coward, but since his friend is on the line, he got no way about it. "fine, make it fast"
"leave and never return even to catch a glimpse here ever. is that clear?"
"heh, who knows? you may even blast us anyway"
The Valkyria sigh and fire her lance toward Anastagi. She intentionaly miss it but it still close to Anastagi. The power it release leave nothing but cinder.
"final warning, leave and don't even return evermore..." this time the Valkyria let out stern voice
Anastagi click his tounge. After he get Imca, he return to APC and told 56 to move fast.
"Kurt we made...it out...somehow. damn it, never been this scared in my life!"
Gallian Military HQ...
Kurt report about their last battle. The appearance of Valkyria is never been pleasant. Many encounter with her result in crushed defeat. Commander Crowe told Kurt that Valkyria is one of the big obstacle on their objectives. Ever since the end of the stalemate, her appearance is seen more often than before. He told Kurt no matter how much momentum he had, don't even think to fight Valkyria since they capable to destroy whole brigade let alone 422.
"so if you see glowing sexy bitch, turn back. even if it mean to the landfield" said Crowe
"what about our failure? we didn't kill Emperor"
"well you can't kill a thin air either! the HQ intel is slippin you see? guess you still got that devil luck in you"
"this can't go on forever. my squad morale keep lowered due to many fail sir" said Kurt
"then told them they are soldier. if they want to get higher ground, then fight for it, not whine and sit in corner pissing"
"i gotta ask though. Emperor isn't there, then where he is then?"
"who knows?" said Crowe while lit another cigarette
Back in the base, the squad were still in shock after what they just fought yesterday. Some of them told the story of Valkyria who brought peace to the land back in the day. But this Valkyria doesn't seems to bring peace to Gallia any day now. Whatever that is, that powerful being will be the last thing they want to fight beside Ravens.
"i even forget we will be executed if we fail...i just want to run" said Anastagi
"love to call you pussy but i wet my pants too. how is our ace?" ask Felix
"sleep tight. that lady hit her body hard after all. shit, of all thing you want to see dead, a Valkyria?" mutter Anastagi
Meanwhile on the medic tent...
"so just drink this but in case your body still feel hot, quickly see me" said the new member 63 the medic
"thanks Clarissa" said Riela
After the operation, her body felt hot than usual. As if she just fight for whole days non-stop. She let out a sigh and pray it didn't hinder her performance in battle. She still remember the image before had this symptoms. The men were surround her while she were shackled. And there's this woman...who come later after she black out. The mysterious lady told Riela that she's not what she think before leave her in the wake of what should be her traumatic experience.
"take this. it's to control your unstable energy" said the mysterious lady in lab coat while handing Riela a strange equipment
"what...happen?"
"you were cornered by my men in the lab under my order. i sense you got something powerful inside and i force it out from you. i get what i want. take this and leave"
Riela couldn't comprehend what happen. But the moment she take the equipment, she feel the surge of energy coming out from her. However it hurt her as if she were burn alive. She let out scream so loud. It didn't take long fortunately and she let out heavy breath.
"what's this...feeling?" whisper Riela before she spotted Anastagi looking around
The hot sensation still linger until now. What cause her paranoid is when she realize the strange mangled thing surround her after she black out when those men try to get her. She lash out her power without realize it, burn them to beyond recognition.
"this power...i'm not gonna fall for that!" sworn Riela
"Riela!" call out Anastagi "Riela! shit, we gotta warn others!"
"w-what happen? where's Kurt?" ask Riela
"he's back to capital, but now, capital is under attack. real shit! distress signal coming from there! your man is there! let's go! let's go!" shout Anastagi
