Alright~ *sigh* It's so nice to return to this project after awhile ^^ So, this continuing where story takes place after 5th chapter. Oh, and that's right! Now bringing a new arc - Unreachable Sin. Well, in this arc planning to introduce new characters and further explore the lore of this au. Maybe this arc could be a beginning of something nice. Back to the presence. Nearly a couple of weeks had passed since Kyo had tasted the blood of the vampire hunter.

That sweet taste… It still tingles his tongue to this very day, but it’s not enough for him. Surely, it may be enough to satisfy his hunger. However, something has changed inside him. Something he cannot really put a finger on.

He was not a fan of hunting his prey unless he was hungry. But now, if he attacked any human, their blood had lost most of its flavor, by his standards, and blood was nutritious and of decent quality.

Perhaps his was only enough to satisfy his hunger, but didn’t taste so good, and he hoped that he only imagined things.

However, recently, he felt more side effects of drinking Yagami’s blood.

Today, in the rented hotel bathroom, when he accidentally brushes his hand against his chest, the brunette feels a sharp pain as if it tears his skin and whimpers.

When the brunette opens his eyes, he feels something warm running along his side and notices the left scratch marks on him as if it was done by a wild beast.

After Kyo lifts his hand, he sees his fingertips are dyed red and sharp, long nails dripping that liquid.

What catches his eye is that these scratches heal faster than usual.

Even low-surface wounds used to take nearly five minutes to heal completely. But this one? Just a bare minute.

That never happened before to him in the past, neither after losing to that bastard demon.

One thing is for sure, he needs to tell that weird hunter as soon as possible. Maybe he knows what is happening to him.

After wiping his bloody palm and previously injured chest, he throws away the antibacterial tissues into the trashcan.

Strangely, the scar, which was left after the fight against the demon, is still here. The same white, round scar in the middle of Kyo’s chest reminds the moment when his pride as a vampire and power were stripped away. That sun circle-shaped scar the same size as the incubus’ fist – it was a mark of the vampire’s failure and arrogance.

Just glaring at it in the mirror makes Kyo feel that unbearable pain of humiliation again.

But enough of that. The brunette thinks before closing his eyes and turning away from the mirror.

One might say – how a vampire can see their reflection? However, there is a simple answer to that.

There are still some mirrors left in this world that do not show the image of an unholy creature like a vampire.

However, these are made from silver, and the Kusanagi heir heavily dislikes them. Besides, there is no bigger inconvenience than being unable to see yourself in the mirror.

Nevertheless, vampires are intelligent beings capable of solving most issues in modern human society.

Fortunately, as soon as this issue appeared, it was solved quickly. It seems only a pure metal like silver has declined the noble creatures of the night and is dangerous to them.

On the other hand, other known metals still show perfectly their reflection. Thus, as one of the alternatives, vampires used aluminum mirrors. Besides, even these foolish humans don’t use silver mirrors because they are expensive and not worth their cost.

But what about the water? It is a different and painful problem.

Even in his human form, Kyo dislikes water because it irritates his skin. That’s why he had to learn to use one of the most tolerable methods of cleaning himself.

That’s right; these wet tissues are one of them, but there are cases when they won’t cut it off! Hell, he isn’t like one of these dirty dogs. Or so this is what the brunette calls werewolves, who can enjoy the water to their full heart content.

So, vampires are noble and superior species? What kind of nonsense is that? Kyo always rolls his eyes and facepalms at such a thought.

Yes, vampires might be the most powerful and fearsome rulers of all monsters, but only during the night.

Even these human nerds are nearly similar to vampires. Cannot go outside, have limited food, which might not be the best, and at the limited time, lastly, pure water… Urgh, and on top of that, like true introverts, they never intrude unless they are invited.

Whether this nocturnal creature wants to admit it, if he wants to stay clean, he has to use that nasty liquid.

Fortunately, humans are smarter than how they look, and Kyo has borrowed one of their ideas.

One thing that he is grateful for is ethereal oils. Just mixing it together with water feels so relieving that even staying in the shower for a longer time has become enjoyable.

Plus, some herbs have a pleasant scent and leave his body slightly energized or calm his nerves. So, it depends on what oils the vampire uses.

In any case, the brunette will seek out the vampire hunter. Thus, after he returns from the bathroom and puts on his clothes, he fixes his jacket.

Suddenly, he feels a sharp pain through his fingertips as something stings him and gasps.

When he closes his eyes and breathes, his hands are shaking.

A few moments later, Kyo slowly opens his eyes to see what was happening to him.

Just when he checks on his palms, he notices his long, sharp nails have returned to his human ones, but blood bleeds around the stings of his nails.

When he wipes his bloody fingers and leaves red stripes on his white jacket, he throws it away and clenches his palm.

Just what the hell is going on with my body? I don’t like these new sudden changes at all, and it never happened even before my encounter with that twisted demon. Yes, it wouldn’t be surprising if I were using the awakened vampire form. But now? Does the vampire hunter’s blood have such a strong effect? Kyo bites his lower lip and curses his human form.

Apparently, when this creature of the night used his awakened form, his sense of pain was numb and the wound healing process was pretty quick. It perfectly served on the battlefield where even the slightest distraction could cost one’s life.

On the other hand, his human form… It is like a two-edged sword. Besides, there is a balance for everything in this world, including his vampire and human form.

When the pure-blooded vampires stay in their human form and use it wisely, they can live among humans. However, the vampire has to accept this form for what it is.

It means that all their senses are sharper than any ordinary person’s. In the best case, it can be even up to three times. That’s right, and the brunette’s senses are as sharp as that. For better or worse, he doesn’t really care.

At least, the strong smell sense is useful to track down potential prey and thanks to it, it’s easy to tell who is nutritious and has a better taste.

Although, as a vampire, Kyo has no need for human food, it’s simply tasteless and his body cannot digest it. In other words, it’s as good as a carnivorous beast eating grass.

More so, he learned it the hard way when, one time, he was treated by a human. Of course, he didn’t want to be rude, and he accepted the home-made food.

After that evening, he rushed to the toilet to throw it all out because his body was aching to reject it.

There is a saying that if you feel pain, you know you are alive. For humans, it’s like a triggered self-protective reaction to a dangerous factor.

However, while being more sensitive than anyone else, it only worsens things for this noble creature of the night.

Sometimes, after more serious injury, Kyo can only lie down and curl because of how that pain soaks deep into his brain. But most of the time, it makes him helluva discomforted and irritated.

And that’s how the human form works for a vampire.

But for now, Kyo returns to the bathroom to wash his palms dyed in red. It’s not the most pleasant experience. After that, he rubs his hands with hand antiseptic.

His fingertips feel burning, but the urge to know what is happening to him is more important.

That Yagami person surely should at least know something. In any case, it’s that stupid hunter’s fault. So, he owes me some answers. Or so Kyo thinks.

Besides, I didn’t cause any trouble recently. So, having a drink from the direct source of that amaretto-scented liquid sounds pretty reasonable. That’s right, as an apology, Yagami should be more than willing to offer a suck from his neck. The vampire’s eyes glow in a bright crimson. After licking his lips, he swallows the saliva.

Trying to calm himself, the brunette changes his jacket to another, but this one has multiple pockets on the front side and sleeves. At least, a pair of dark blue jeans is still fine.

Before taking his leave, he checks his nails and sees that the left wounds around the nail stings are healed.

To think of it, he barely knows Yagami. It cannot be helped that he has no idea where to look for him or where to start.

On the other hand, a murder took place at a bankrupt bar and the victim’s decapitated remains show that it was done by a wild beast. Or so the brunette heard the recent rumors.

Without a doubt, that stupid hunter is suspecting a vampire kind! So, he might be there, and Kyo is certain about it. It can’t be otherwise!

And so, with bright determination in his eyes, he departs while his hands are resting in his jeans pockets.
