Disclaimer: I do not own Fallout 3. i wish i did but thats not the case. i also make no money from this story. it is just entertainment written by a huge Fallout fan. |
It was night time in the capitol wasteland. On the air there was the soft sound of frogs and crickets. The night sky as clear as ever. Andrew Ross slowly entered the giant steel gates of Megaton and brushed the steel of what would become his permanent home. Away from the vault. Away from his childhood friends. Away from that bitch of a traitor Amata. Away from every childhood memory he would ever have.
As Andrew walked down to the undetonated and now, thanks to him, inactive atomic bomb that gave the town its name, he was filled with an overflow of emotions. But at this moment the most dominant were sadness and regret. Jenny and Gem were sitting at the outdoor bar in front of the former’s restaurant, drinking colas and talking quietly. Andrew took the seat next to the two and as they realized who it was, they both wrapped him into their arms chattering about missing him. Andrew tried to keep his true feelings away from the two, especially the young Gem and so he smiled and talked with them until Gem went home to Gob, leaving Andrew sitting on the barstool next to Jenny. “How did it go?” Jenny asked, placing a hand on Andrew’s. “like you would expect.” was all Andrew said. “that bad huh?” Jenny said, sympathetically squeezing his hand. Andrew nodded. “I don’t get it, I saved her vault. I talked her Overseer father into stepping down and giving the mantle to her. And the last thing she says to me is that I don’t have a place in the vault anymore.” Andrew said. Jenny’s smile faded, replaced with sympathy for her friend Andrew. She placed an arm around Andrew’s shoulders while he silently cried. “She used you?” Jenny said looking up at Andrew. “Yes.” was all Andrew said. The two sat in silence in each other’s embrace for a time. “Jenny?” Andrew asked quietly. “yes?” “what would you have done in my position?” Jenny had to think for a moment before being honest with herself and with Andrew. She took a breath before answering. “I probably would have killed her.” she said with a hollow voice. She regretted the words, however, Andrew just nodded. Jenny chose her words carefully. “Is she alive?” “She is.” said Andrew after an uncomfortable silence. “then you have more willpower than I do.” Jenny said. Andrew looked over at his friend. “want to stay with me tonight?” asked Andrew. “I would want nothing more.” Jenny said, smiling and kissing his cheek as the pair stood and made off toward Andrew’s home. @ @ END @ So i hope that you all enjoyed Andrew Ross' tale of being kicked out of vault 101 and thrown into the harshness of the wasteland. a sequel will be coming soon chronicling Andrew's quest to find his father, the deepening of Gem and Gob's relationship and dealing with the bigots of Megaton, and the development of Andrew's relationship with his friend Jenny Stahl. this of course is my very first AFF submission, so if you would like to comment or criticize i welcome both. please drop me a line at kmac1986@yahoo.com. thank you AFF dot com. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
