Unreachable Sin. Part 2 of 18

Alright, like promised, returning with new chapter ^^ *sigh* and yes, you may say ''Mina, of all possible villains you chose this pesky type? Couldn't you pick even more randomly?'' I would tell you one thing. Aside that I had difficulties beating him in Garou by either using Kim bros, either Rock or Kevin. Don't get me wrong, I did liked Garou and had pretty good time ^^ Anyway, I did pick Kain as villain not only because of that. Well, there was a KOF beat 'em up bootleg called Jue Zhan Tian Huang in which he was one of final bosses (for those, who are interested, I talked about this on DA https://www.deviantart.com/kitty698/journal/Jue-Zhan-Tian-Huang-KOF-bootleg-beat-em-up-806403895 and made gif sets on my side-blog https://mina-makes-stuff.tumblr.com/tagged/jue+zhan+tian+huang/page/2)
Besides, vampire hunter Yagami idea came from one image from one Castlevania bootleg on gameboy color. So, yeah, at least these bootleg game serve as good material for new ideas ^^''
Anyway, thank you for your patience and enjoy!

It is a misty night in the city. It slowly devoured even the light of street lamps. However, the stars of the cloudless sky are brighter and keep the company of the lonely moon, which kindly shows a path to wanderers.

Despite being a late hour, the city is awake and ignores the silent waltz of the stars. Now, it is a time when night walkers rule. No, it’s not monsters or demons. It’s humans seeking excitement or pleasure during the glamorous night.

The neon signs of bars, clubs, or new advertisements of various brands are glittering and shining, inviting anyone with open hands who has a nice sum of money or a suit.

Just go, try your luck, and live the moment — it’s hard to resist the temptation and pass through it without glimpsing.

The streets’ air holds a variety of mixed fragrances, ranging from sweet and light tones to overpowering scents of flowers, sweets, and strong spices. It’s difficult to tell to whom each scent belongs.

Of course, one can hear chatting or chuckling couples, or see them being closer to one another.

Along with that, a rhythmic beat from the passing cars quickly fades into the distance. Thus, this is the life of the night city.

For the brunette, it’s nothing too special, but it’s better than silence, and he walks without minding the pulse of the city’s center.

After all, whether a vampire or a human, there’s no difference as long as you blend in with the crowd. So, there is no reason to worry about being discovered.

However, Kyo has no business in this area. So, he heads to the west side outside the city, where is a recently infamous bar.

Hopefully, he would unexpectedly be spotted by that hunter because he sure has a habit of showing up when he fewest wants. Or so Kyo thinks.

Besides, he has no real reason to worry or be afraid. He is innocent and has done nothing wrong. The brunette hopes so.

Although he doesn’t understand Yagami’s motives or why he acts the way he does. If this hunter, like he mentioned last time, only desires to face a powerful foe, why doesn’t he leave him alone and hunt a high-ranked monster who might be a worthy opponent?

But now? That stupid hunter has high expectations for Kyo.

Just what the hell does he know about this vampire? But it doesn’t change the fact that he treats him like a personal test subject for his made-up theory.

What does Yagami try to accomplish by doing this? Hell, he even offers food for Kyo and sacrifices himself.

What if the hunter’s efforts are in vain? Of course, Kyo would never say no to the blood and take it as a kind offer. After all, not every day, you can encounter a human who is, out of the blue, giving him a better treat.

However, he doesn’t understand that Kyo may never regain his former strength and powers.

If this vampire had control over Yagami, he might not be able to hold back, and he’d be drained to the last drop.

So, does he want to make Kyo feel bad for his death because of his nature? Who does he think he is?

Even so, this vampire has to prove that he is not just a blood-thirsty monster who sees humans as a fine dinner.

Hell, if it wasn’t for the minority of the vampires who openly kill and give a bad name to others, he wouldn’t be hunted in the first place or have a bounty on his head.

However, he doesn’t hold any grudge or hatred against humans. Yes, some people are annoying or unpleasant, but not all are necessarily the same. So, it’s not an excuse to behave like a rabid dog.

On the other hand, it’s a pretty complicated case with the redhead hunter, and the only way to get answers out of him is how he insists, by defeating him. Whether it is just a bluff, it doesn’t matter. This condition is fair enough for the nocturnal creature, but in his current state, it’s nearly impossible to face him.

Kyo wants to become stronger than anyone else as fast as possible before meeting him again. But he will not regret it because of his impatience and curiosity. No one has forced the brunette to do as the hunter says, and it’s his own independent decision.

But for now, he is getting closer to the outside of the city. It’s not so lighted as in the center, and only single street lamps show him the way. At least it’s peaceful here, and not a single living soul has crossed his path yet.

When he nearly reaches the abandoned bar, he senses the uneasiness and pressure around him. Soon, he feels like getting choked and silently whimpers.

After looking around, he sees no one in the distance on this lonely path.

It’s probably only in my head… The brunette hopes so and tries to ignore his gut feeling while continuing going his way.

After walking longer, the same feeling still haunts him, and grows stronger. Suddenly, he widens his eyes and bends his knees as the cold shivers send down his spine.

A moment later, he gets up while trembling like a leaf.

There is no mistake — someone is here, and the vampire doesn’t like this at all.

It is the second time in his life that he is scared like this. There is only one person in this world who can awaken his primal sense of fear.

No, Yagami could never do this to him, even if from the first glance, he may look intimidating. Also, Kyo is certain that he will never mock him or torture him for the false crimes and blame him for barely existing.

That twisted and cruel person is somewhere near and Kyo knows it, even if he cannot see his enemy.

There is no valid reason for him to stay longer in this place or search for the red-haired vampire hunter.

Thus, he slowly steps back and turns around before taking his leave. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t know it’s too late for him.

Suddenly, a stinging pain pierces his nape, making him gasp.

After the vampire reaches the aching part of his neck, he grasps a tiny arrow.

Without hesitation, he pulls it out and silently groans.

However, a familiar gentle yet sadistic voice behind him makes him widen his eyes and freeze him in the same spot that he drops the arrow on the ground.

“My, what people do we have here? Looks like you are still alive, vampire.” The mysterious person addresses him.

Finally, Kyo turns his head to face this foe.

That’s right, it’s the same person who sent him to his own personal five years ago, and it seems he didn’t change at all.

For now, the menacing chuckle pierces through the vampire, and he proudly adds. “So, it’s really you, little slaughterer. You are as rotten and disgusting little beast as I remember. However, this time, I won’t be so merciful and kind.”

Kyo instinctively shows his fangs and growls at the long-haired blond hunter, who is calm and unaffected by his behavior.

That person in the snow-white long coat, matching color pants, and long until reaching the lower back golden hair — from first glance, anyone could mistake him for an angel or a knight. However, behind that divine look, there is a darker and more sinister creature than any from the underworld can be. That’s right, it is none other than an old-time member of the Hunter Guild — Kain R. Heinlein.

For now, the brunette’s eyes glow in bright crimson, and upon stretching his nails, he slashes his opponent.

However, Kain is faster and gracefully moves aside, leaving the vampire nearly losing the balance.

Damn. Why it didn’t work? Kyo stares at his nails.

Suddenly, he becomes alerted by the chill voice mocking him from behind. “Too slow. Is this the best thing you can do?”

Without a second thought, his body moves on its own, and he dodges the sword attack.

Upon crouching, Kyo frowns and unleashes the spinning kick.

Unfortunately for him, another failed strike, and Kain is behind the vampire’s back.

“What a sluggish creature you are! Know your place!”

Kyo barely has time to react to his sheathed sword attack, and a strong numb pain on his side makes him gasp and groan.

A moment later, Kyo falls on his stomach, but he tries shakily to get up from the cold pavement. Also, he can swear that his body feels heavier while he can barely move a muscle.

As Kain steps on Kyo’s back rapidly, he mockingly looks down at him. “I’m surprised how you can still move. So, I must congratulate you on that, vampire. However, I do not need a bounty of your head because you have something else what I can use.”

Shit… Why I can’t control my body? The nocturnal creature wonders as he stares at the dirty pavement. If he could, he would have narrowed his gaze and grind his teeth.

It feels like his body is paralyzed, but his mind remains sharp and clear. Here, he cannot fight back, no matter how he wants it.

The blonde only chuckles and announces. “It seems the poison is already working. At least be grateful because you won’t feel any pain. And once I’m done, you’ll be released from your pathetic existence. So, shall we go?”

When the noble hunter removes his foot, he bends down and grabs Kyo by the back of his jacket collar.

Of course, the brunette wants to escape at any cost, but all he can do is curse himself for being unable to do anything.

More so, the suspense of what may happen to him next only makes it worse.

So, is this how I’m going to perish? Damn, where is that stupid hunter? He knows it’s a useless effort to call Yagami’s name in his mind, but this is the only thing he can think of at the moment, even if he is dragged toward the mysterious place where the blonde hunter is probably planning to execute him.
