Heart felt conversation with Triss/ Searching for the Sunstone (surprise coming there.)/ Then the final battle.
That's the next 3 chapters, then we dive into the deep end of my earth shattering original plot, it's gonna be epic! Hopefully. Anyway, these next 3 are probably gonna be real juicy and short. Enjoy!
Chapter 11: Reason of State.
Time: Same time.
Geralt and Triss stopped when they saw the sight, Francesca had her Queen's crown on her head, Avallac'h was simply glaring at her.
"This is my world, Aen Elle! You will bow to me!" She told him.
Like you snuffed out a candle, the tension in the room dispersed, because Avallac'h, with visible reluctance... Accepted that Francesca was the Queen in this world, and with him being a resident of this world for centuries, she was his Queen... And he bowed to her. Not full blown boot kissing of course, he just bowed his upper half a foot or so and bowed his head. You could hear the audible sigh come from him, though...
"Francesca?" Geralt said.
"Yes, Geralt?" She said as if everything was perfectly fine, she actually had a tone of satisfaction in her voice.
"You seriously had to make our Elf friend here bow to you?" Geralt asked, sounding intrigued.
"Of course, he's an Elf, like me... Though still as different as can be, I am Aen Seide, he is Aen Elle... "
"I know..."
"And I am the Queen in this world, of the Elves, Avallac'h has called this world home for a very long time, so he must bow to me. All Elves must, even Ida bows to me."
"Hmmm..."
"I did hear him call this world the "World of the Aen Seidhe," once."
"Indeed I did," Avallac'h chimed in, "Because this is the world of the Aen Seidhe, like the world that we visited, which was the world of the Aen Elle..."
"Yeah... We went there, that's enough for me, if I want you to tutor me like you do Ciri I'll let ya know."
Triss stifled a laugh at that.
"Anyway, I never took you for the boot licking type?"
"To be candid I had no desire to bow to Fran- Her Majesty..." Francesca grinned, Geralt thought she got way to much enjoyment out of this... "But Geralt, Elves live by a code, Aen Seidhe or Aen Elle, we are all Elves. Those like me that refuse to bow to a murderous maniac like Eredin, and can get away with it, end up here. And I'd rather bow to Francesca than to Eredin, because I'd rather die than bow to the later. Elves live in two worlds, two rulers, here and Tir Na Lia, eventually you have to bow to one of them..."
"I can't believe it, you said 5 sentences without asking a single question!" Geralt mocked, "But I understand now, if it makes you feel any better, Francesca is a good Queen, if I was an Elf and I had to bow to anyone, it'd be her..." and I believe it'd be a serious insult to compare her to Eredin."
He stopped, used his witcher eyes to glance at Triss's expression from the corner of his eye... She had her arms crossed, eyes narrowed.
He grimaced, "Anyway, I believe it'd be a serious insult to compare her to Eredin."
"Yes, I actually agree..." Avallac'h said.
"I don't know much about this Eredin usurper, all I know is that he is a murderer, and not supposed to be the king." Francesca chimed in.
"I could tell you the whole story if you wish, somewhere more private..." Avallac'h inquired, looking around.
"Yes I do believe that'd be helpful, thank you, we may yet get along..." Francesca said.
"We need to begin planning our move against the Wild Hunt, we know that we need to find the Sunstone and lure Eredin into a trap using it."
"The Sunstone you say?" Francesca piped in, intrigued.
"Yes, an arti-" Avallac'h begun but was cut off.
"I'm a sage too, I know the story." Francesca said, slightly impatient.
"So you know that it is perfect for what we plan to do, can you help us find it?" Geralt asked.
"Yes... you sound as if you know where to start?"
"Yes, it's on the coast of Ard Skellig."
"May I ask where you acquired this knowledge? Couldn't have been from Avallac'h..."
"Another time, Another place, Francesca, it's... sensitive information." Geralt said.
"Fine, good, if you wish I can accompany you to retrieve it?"
"You sure you wanna go trecking through carrion with a scary old witcher?"
"Of cour..." She started but was cut off.
"No, I'll be going with Geralt to fetch the sunstone."
Everyone turned toward the stairs where the voice came from, there was Margarita standing with her arms crossed, looking confident.
"Rita?" Triss said.
"Never took you for the tomb raider type..." Geralt inquired.
"Me neither, although I'm intrigued... And besides, the old recrtress still has some tricks up her sleeve!"
Triss actually laughed at that.
"Alright, you'll come with me then, should be fun..."
"Pfft, fine, go with her..." Francesca grumbled.
"Not like your missing anything, your grace... Just mud, drowners, and collapsed caves."
"Yeah, have fun."
"Waaait, drowners?" Rita said, slightly apprehensive.
"What? Afraid of a few stupid drowners?" Geralt mocked.
"Ahhh, no..." She said, not fooling anyone.
"You'll be fine, Margarita. You'll have me there too, for me killing a drowner is as easy as breathing."
"I can testify to that..." Triss chimed in.
"When do we leave?" Margarita asked, patient.
"We gotta figure out the rest of our plan first, and I need to do something in town. Besides, we'll all be leaving for skellige at the same time, on the same boat, so 2-3 days?"
"Yes you're right... Do we have a boat reserved?" Rita stated.
"Yes." Avallac'h said.
"It's waiting in the harbor," He continued.
"I don't see what's stopping us from going now..." Francesca said.
"Well, first we need to find Fringilla Vigo." Triss said.
"And, Francesca?" Geralt asked.
"Yes?"
"You think you could get Ida to come help us?"
"Hmmm, yes, although I doubt she'll be happy."
"We already contacted her, she didn't want to help." Triss said.
"With a bit of convincing, or Queenly suggestions, we can get her to come help." Francesca put in.
"Good, we need all the help we can get." Geralt said.
"Do we know where Fringilla is?" Avallac'h asked.
"She's being held in the Emperors dungeons, chained in Dimeritium." Came a familiar voice from the stairs. Yen.
''WHAT?!" Triss exclaimed.
"Yes, it's bullshit. I secured amnesty for the Lodge, but yet he just happened to leave that detail out!"
"Well we need her, and we definitely can't let her be executed by the emperor..." Geralt said.
Now maybe his concern for Fringilla would have raised some jealousy in Triss, or maybe even Yen... But Yen had no right to be jealous of anything about him anymore, and Triss was too busy revisiting the nightmares she went through at the hands of the nilfgaardians to be jealous.
Geralt, noticing Triss's down fallen face, walked over to her and hugged her. She hugged him back and thanked him.
"That's so sweet, but what's her problem?" Francesca said.
Geralt, Yen, and Rita all stared daggers at her, if looks could kill, she's be an ash pile.
"Ok, ok, I'm sorry, something bad obviously happened..." She attempted to climb out of her hole.
"Yeah, so just don't say anything." Geralt corrected her.
"So, we set sail tomorrow then?" Avallac'h said.
"What's going on in here?" A voice called.
It was Ciri.
"Hey Ciri, we were discussing our game plan for the next couple days, getting ready to fight the hunt."
"Hmm, without me? figures..."
"Wasn't planned that way, we are going to sail to Skellige either tomorrow or the next day, and while we are there me and Rita will search and recover the Sunstone, then we'll decide whether or not Fringilla is reachable from your father's clutches." Geralt summarized for her.
"Pfft, that old imbecile is about as much my father as the sky is black." She said.
"I understand..." he said.
"Anyways, what do you think Ciri?"
"Who's this?" Ciri asked, pointing at Francesca.
"Queen of the Aen Seidhe, and all other Elves in this world, Francesca Findabair, Elven sage, co-founder of the Lodge of Sorceresses." - Avallac'h deduced for her.
Ciri just raised an eyebrow.
"I'm here to help you, Cirilla." Francesca said to her, kindly...
"It's 'Ciri,' and I trust the Lodge about as far as I can throw them, so don't hold your breath." Ciri told her.
Francesca sighed...
Avallac'h just raised an eyebrow.
Ciri blinked, and dissapeared in a flash of green.
"Don't take it personally Francesca, you only have Phillippa and Yen to blame for her distrust." Triss said to her.
"Yes, I didn't expect her to jump into my arms and hug me, that's for sure, the Elder Blood is strong and fierce... That's good."
"Well, I am going to take my leave for now, Avallac'h... I'd still like to hear that story, so drop by if you don't mind? I got the room on the far end of the hall." She said and dissapeared in an orange spiral.
"Well, I also need to get going." Geralt said, and turned to Triss.
She kissed him, and told him to be careful, and she'll be upstairs.
He kissed her back and turned to walk to the door.
Triss dissapeared in a spiral, Yen did too, Avallac'h just walked upstairs.
Which concluded their meeting.
When Triss appeared in their room upstairs, she didn't lay down for a nap, she started on a project of her own.
Geralt walked toward the warehouse on the far side of Novigrad, he was going there to meet some colleagues to discuss plans.
(A/N Yes I skipped it all, you know how it went... Geralt assisted Roche in dealing with Djikstra.) Time skip: A few hours.
Geralt walked up the stairs to his room in the R&T, it was getting late, he opened the door and walked in.
Triss was sitting at her desk, scribbling away on a piece of paper.
"Welcome back, what'd you do?"
"Can you put a sound spell on the room?"
She looked interested, and she put the spell on the room.
"Hmmm, you're going to like this..."
"Oh?"
"I just got done helping to assassinate Radovid." Geralt said, perfectly calm.
She gasped, smiled real wide, and ran up to jump up and give him a hug.
"You really did? The fucking degenerate is dead?"
"Yep, I didn't kill him myself though, I am not a kingslayer, no matter how fucked up they are." He said.
"I know, I wouldn't have ever asked you to do it yourself, we have too much bad history with killing kings..."
"Oh? You mean me?"
"Yeah..." She looked sad.
"haha, once in a while I have someone walk by me in the street, saying "What is it happened to foltest again?"
She laughed.
"Yeah, it gets old."
"I bet, anyway, how'd it happen?"
"Well it started with me meeting Roche, Djikstra, and Thaler in the warehouse on the other side of Novigrad... Then I went to lure Radovid off his ship, with Phillipa's help, she agreed to be the bait and she gave me a ring to prove I was telling the truth to Radovid... Which I wasn't."
"I got him off the ship, we went to the bridge, he was like: "Where's Phillipa?" The retard."
*Giggles.*
"So I said: "on the other end of the bridge," or something close to that... Then he said some garbage and said to kill me."
She gasped.
"Course it didn't work, because then roche showed up and the ambush began, in the end Phillipa killed radovid."
"Wow, Phil always hated him... She honestly deserved the payback."
"I know... Roche wasn't happy, so then we went to madame irina's stage to discuss what happened and celebrate. Which was when Djikstra turned on us, and though that sending 5 of his goonz was enough to kill Ves, Me, and Roche... big mistake, Roche wanted to make a deal with Emyhr, to get their country back... Djikstra didn't."
"Damn, you had a fun and dangerous, evening... You should have let me know! I would have helped you!"
"Couldn't, I wouldn't put you into that danger, and there wasn't need."
"Pfft, don't die on me."
"I haven't yet... Except that one time."
She laughed and they went to lay down, he told her about all the details, she likes politics...
"Thank you, Geralt. You did a great service to the Mages, thank you."
"Wow, so formal? That was the intent, I only did it for you, though."
She kissed him.
"Thank you."
"Anything for you, my beautiful sorceress."
She just purred.
"Wait, you never told me what Ciri though I was feeling during that night... You know the one."
"Oh, that's right, I didn't... Since we were interrupted."
"Yes."
"Alright, well, I'll tell you... But again, don't get all offended when I start acting all proud and stupid."
"Pfft, try me."
"Haha, anyway, she said that you had just accepted your fate, and that you had screwed up. She also said the reason you were afraid of me, was because you saw me as your 'god' and he had just turned his wrath on you." He eleborated, sounding a little ridiculous.
"HAHA! Your voice when you said that... oh my gosh, *Giggling*, well she was completely right, that's how I thought."
"I never wanted you to be in that situation, Triss, my anger was at Yen... Not you. You just got caught in the middle."
"I know, and I accepted that, I also accepted that I had made the grave error of agreeing with her plan to begin with... And that almost lost me you."
"But it didn't, so let's not talk about it..."
"Agreed, let's get some sleep. The next few days are going to be tough."
"Yes they will be, they will be... But we will defeat the Wild Hunt, together."
"That we will, you can be sure."
A/N, ok quick chapter, short and not too shitty I hope... this was typed very quick because I want to get this done quickly, then we can move onto the stuff I have planned for this story. Till next time! Please review!
