Kain stood up and looked at the statue before him. His beautiful Queen, carved in stone looked down at him wth arms reaching towards him, waiting for the embrace that could never come.
Kain sighed deeply and wished more than ever that he had not ordered Raziel into the Abyss. That single act on his part, had stripped him of everything he held dear to him.
He had not planned on telling Mizariah about what had happened, opting to tell her that Raziel had died in battle as the clans clashed. But would she have believed him? He had no idea but he would have done anything to keep her from knowing the truth.
Now she was gone, no thanks to his sons who had been dealt with harshly for daring to tell her what had happened. They should have known that she would take it badly. They all had, even Turel and Dumah who had cast him in, had grieved for their elder brother. They had not shown it when Kain was around but he still knew they were. He could see it in their eyes. He was still furious with them though and he knew that fury would never be quenched.
A ros rose to leave the temple that had been erected around Mizariah’s grave, he made a new vow.
Someday his sons were going to pay for this….
