Ace slowly walked into New Reno. Her eyes were bloodshot from exhaustion. Penelope walked tiredly with her, as well. A few people looked at her as she walked down a street, heading into a mostly destroyed building. "Before I start looking for Dawn or Kid, I need to sleep!" She thought, the thought hardly registering in the shadow of her constant and overwhelming desire for sleep. The building was in a state of decay, the walls crumbling and what furnishings there were to be very ramshackle. The building had a few junkies in it, some high as a kite, some angry and craving their next fix, looking at Ace, eyeing her up, probably wondering if they could mug her and get away with it. She raised up her sawed-off, pointing it at the nearest junkie, catching the attention of them all. Penelope seemed to catch wind of Ace's feelings, growling menacingly at a nearby man. "Everyone out." Ace commanded simply.
The junkie looked at her with wide eyes, it being apparent that he was already high. Nobody did anything for a few moments. Ace pulled the trigger to her sawed-off, blowing open the left side of the junkie's face, his dead body falling to the floor. "Did I fucking stutter?! Get the fuck out, now!!" The junkies all jumped to their feet and began to take off, racing away. Ace spotted a mattress nearby, the mattress simply lying on the floor. Hasty footsteps ran into the building. A man in a leather jacket and dark pants came in, a hunting rifle with a scope to it in his hands, the man saying "What the fuck is going on in here?" He looked at the corpse of the junkie, a disgusted face crossing him. Ace took that opportunity to race closer to him, holding up the sawed-off into his face from below his chin. "Leave, now. Nothing to see here." She snarled. He narrowed his eyes, his left hand shooting behind his belt, grasping a knife he kept there, the man apparently believing that his rifle would be too cumbersome for such a close opponent.
Ace turned her head to the side, pulling the trigger, feeling blood and gore hit the side of her head, over her hair. A thud sounded out as the man's body hit the floor. Ace tiredly fell to her knees, grabbing the man's rifle, tossing it over to the bed. She began to search him, being pleasantly surprised by what she found. The man may have been a drug dealer of some kind, as he had four canisters of Jet on him, as well as a small satchel holding about three Buffout pills and several caps. He had about ten spare bullets for his rifle. Ace took it all, laying it by her bed, leaving his body where it was. She fell onto the bed, her mind already beginning to blacken with sleep. Penelope lay down beside her. Ace closed her eyes, immediately drifting off into sleep as she did so, the quickness with which she fell asleep almost being like she had been knocked out.
Within a few minutes, Keith Wright had several men and women lined up inside the Wright manor for Dawn to pick her team from. Dawn saw several old, familiar faces, and several new ones. Dawn began to pick people she remembered. "Stitch, Ice, Joey, Krypt..." Dawn looked to the side, to the girl that had helped her, the one with the H&K CAWS shotgun. "...And you. Lana, was it?" The girl nodded, smiling gently. "Yes, that's it." She said, confirming her name as "Lana". A few of the soldiers looked relieved not to have been picked. Many thought Dawn's mission was suicidal. A few seemed a little disappointed to have not been picked. Keith clapped his hands a few times, getting everyone's attention. "All those that Dawn didn't pick, go watch your zones, make sure the Bishops don't try to come back." The room was emptied of those not picked to help Dawn. Dawn smiled at the familiar faces. "Dawn, it's great to have you back, lookin' forward to gettin' some payback on those Bishop motherfuckers." The one named Joey said to her.
Dawn nodded at him. "Hell yes, payback's coming, all right." She said. Keith said "I remember you working with these guys a few times way back when. Guess you're picking them because you trust them?" Dawn nodded confidently. "Exactly. I know these guys can hold their own in a fight, I know I won't have to drag them through this. I need strong people for this kind of thing." Dawn looked along them all, taking in how they all looked, her old friends having changed a little since the last time she had seen them. Stitch was a short man, looking like he was perhaps in his late thirties. A horrible scar covered almost the entire left side of his face, like he had been licked by fire or perhaps caught in an explosion of some kind. He wore a light brown leather coat, no shirt on underneath, revealing that the left half of his chest had been burned, as well. He wore dark camo pants, the designs being coloured green and a darker shade of green. His large hiking boots were untied and loose. His clothes were sort of dirty, a light dusting of wasteland grit about him. A medical bag hung by his side slightly, a strap going over his shoulder to keep it in place under his left arm.
Ice was a tall amazon-like woman, looking to be in her early twenties. Her skin was dark and chocolate-toned. Her face almost always had a severe expression to it, like she was displeased. She was rather toned with muscle, but not disgustingly so, still retaining femininity. Her body wasn't very curvy, but she didn't seem to care at all. She wore a makeshift tribalistic bra of fur, a tribal necklace of bones and small stones going around her neck, a few shiny rocks, like gems, going with the normal-looking rocks. She wore a tribal's woven skirt, almost looking like a loincloth of sorts. She, too, had a light layer of wasteland dust and dirt on her. Joey was a tall man looking like the stereotypical mafia gangster from the days before the war, with slicked-back black hair, wearing a dirty black dress suit with a slightly-burnt red tie. His eyes were hidden due to a pair of salvaged sunglasses he had gotten from some long-forgotten ruin in the wastes.
Out of them all, Krypt was most definitely the most frightening, visually, at least. He was tall and pale with a lean body. His face was shadowed due to the large hood he wore from his hoodie. His chin was visible however, jagged scars running along it. The sleeves of his hoodie had been torn off from some old battle. His pants were stained with blood, all along the pant legs. They were all already armed, Stitch with a FN FAL that had been upgraded with an old night-sight scope. Ice was armed with a strange weapon, Dawn recognizing it however, knowing it as a XL70E3, an old experimental assault rifle from before the war, not very many copies of the weapon surviving the nuclear fires. She also had a combat knife in a sheath in the belt of her makeshift skirt. Joey was armed with a sinister Thompson submachine gun, complete with a drum magazine.
Krypt seemed to be the one with the lightest equipment. A blade was pushed into his pants from the side, Dawn recognizing it as a Yakuza blade, known as the Wakizashi blade. His left hand was concealed in a metal glove of sorts, the glove looking like a mechanical gauntlet from ancient times. Some of it appeared coated in black leather, perhaps to try and disguise it. Dawn knew it to be a called a Power Fist. Despite it's ancient appearance, it was actually a rather recent weapon, made to increase someone's unarmed damage exponentially with each hit. It ran on Small Energy Cells, but Dawn noticed a set freshly charged into it, giving it full power. Dawn nodded once she had taken in how everyone looked. "You, all of you, are part of my team for this. I picked you because I trust you, we all go way back, except for you, Lana. I'm giving you a chance because you helped me. If it wasn't for you and your Super Stimpack, I'd probably be dead right now. With me included, that makes a team of six. Any objections to the mission? None? Good, you guys are good. This will be easy if we do it right."
Everyone nodded at her words. Ice spoke with an accent that conjured up images of southern islands in warm, tropical climates. "We be with you, Dawn. Just lead da way." Keith looked at Dawn. "I trust you totally, Dawn. Keep the assault rifle, you've more than earned it. Take some ammo for it, everyone will be stocking up before you all leave. And take care, huh? You just got back, I'd hate to hear that you finally kicked the damn bucket up there." Dawn smiled, raising an eyebrow. "I don't plan on kicking it any time soon, but life isn't exactly kind out here. Who knows what could happen?" A raspy and dark voice cracked out. "No man knoweth the day nor the hour..."
Everyone looked at Krypt. Joey made a face. "Thanks Krypt, we really needed to hear that just before going off. Now I'm paranoid a giant whale is gonna fall outta the sky and crush me or some shit." Krypt smirked slightly. Dawn raised her eyebrows for a moment before looking back to Keith. "Don't worry, we'll take care of things." She said. Keith nodded and said "Give 'em hell. They can't get away with this shit." The team began to leave, grabbing several clips of ammo for their weapons, receiving words of encouragement from many members of the Wright family as they left the manor, heading down a nearby street, going deeper into New Reno, serious faces along them all as the continued heading for the Shark Club.
Within thirty minutes, Dawn and her group neared the core of New Reno. Dawn ignored a mugging that took place on the side of the street that they all walked along, junkies desperate for caps to buy clean water and, of course, Jet to fuel their addiction. The only person that even looked over was Lana. Stitch looked to Dawn. "Hey, Dawn...You don't have any armour..." Dawn smiled a little. "Correct you are, Stitch. But neither do any of you, and neither does any of Bishop's men, if memory serves me correctly. Think of it as a game of "elimination dodgeball"...You get hit and you're out of the game. Hit the other team's players, and they're down for good, too." Dawn looked over her shoulder with a small grin, looking to Lana. "Take down the leader of the other team, Bishop himself, and we win the game." Lana nodded, saying "Don't worry, I understand...I can fight."
Dawn nodded and looked forward once more. "Glad to hear it." She said. Joey looked at her with a bit of a smile. "It'd be a damn shame for your beautiful figure to be ruined by all the bullets that'll be flying around, Dawn. "Bleedin' swiss cheese" ain't exactly an attractive look on a pretty lady." Dawn smirked at him, raising an eyebrow. "Hardy har har, you're a funny guy, Joseph. Don't be concerned over my well-being, think about yourself, first. And do me a favour, don't mention my body to me again, especially not while we're on a mission. Got it?" Joey raised his eyebrows, smiling as he said "Chill out babe, just trying to show how much I like it with my words." Dawn narrowed her eyes a little and looked over at him at the mention of the nickname "babe". "Don't call me "babe". Showing your appreciation with your words is as far as you'll get Joey, I don't mess around with greasy bastards with undoubtedly tiny dicks, greasy guys with big ones maybe, but not small ones. Small is a turn-off to me, you know." Stitch raised a hand to his face in a mocking manner towards Joey, taking in a long, sharp breath of air, saying "Oooooh!"
Joey gave him the finger, making a bit of a face in annoyance. Lana raised a hand to her face, hiding her smile, trying to stifle her giggling. Ice rolled her eyes gently. Dawn ejected the magazine from her assault rifle, checking how many bullets were in it, quickly popping it back into the weapon's frame. She suddenly seemed rather serious. "Everyone get ready. The Shark Club is just down the street." Everyone readied their weapons, checking them for a few moments. Lana looked at Dawn with a sweet little smile. "So, how are we going to do this? Storm them from the front guns blazing or try and sneak our way in to Bishop himself?" Ice looked at her and said "Dat be de only way, Lana. Dere be men dere dat'll recognize us. Stealth is not an option." Dawn nodded at Ice's calm words. "She's right, Lana. Bishop's men will surely recognize us, plus they're certainly expecting a counterattack. This isn't a situation we can sneak through, we'll just have to attack them head-on." Lana nodded slightly. "Well, alright..."
Vlad wasn't having the best day ever. All morning, he had been trying to woo a girl into sex, but to no avail. Then some tourists began to complain that their drinks were warm. "Well, what did they expect?" He thought. "We don't have the electricity to make our fridges run really strong." His blade rested in his left hand lazily, a shot of Rot Gut in his right, his back against the bar. Someone suddenly let out a shout from outside, a shout of warning. Vlad dropped his shot of alcohol, dropping to the floor.
Dawn and her friends stood in a line in front of the casino, much like a firing squad, raising their weapons up and firing like crazy, mowing down several of the bouncers that stood by the front doors, including the one that had shouted out a warning. Their bullets tore through the front doors and the windows of the establishment. People cleared the streets. Krypt slunk off into a nearby alleyway. The silhouettes of people all fell from their bullets, dancing with death inside the casino. Joey let out a sadistic laugh as the muzzle flashes from his Thompson submachine gun lit up his face. Everyone paused after another minute or two, reloading their weapons. As they began to reload, a furious voice from within shouted "Kill those cocksuckers!!"
Bullets began to fire back at them into the streets from within the casino. Dawn dropped, pulling Stitch and Lana down with her, everyone ramming into the pavement. Lana was shot in the right shoulder, a cry of pain coming from her. Joey got hit in the left arm as he dropped down, Ice pulling him close as they lay on the cement, Joey gritting his teeth as his wound rocked his mind with pain. Dawn helped Lana grab a stimpack from one of her medical packs, Stitch grabbing one from his and passing it over to Joey as the bullets continued to spray out. Dawn muttered loud enough for her team to hear her. "Wait for them to start reloading, then start shooting and heading towards the doors. The Shark Club has three floors, and Bishop's on the third. We have a bit of work ahead of us." Everyone nodded in understanding.
Krypt, heading through the dark alley, quickly yet stealthily approached the Shark Club's rear entrance, being a simple wooden door. He heard the gunfire continue. He knew that his next action wouldn't be picked up by anyone within the casino, not with the constant shots ringing out. He raised up his fist, his Power Fist letting out a sharp mechanical hum as he shot his fist down, the doorknob being blasted off with a single blow, bouncing against the ground for a moment. He pushed the door open slowly, creeping in, pulling out and holding his Wakizashi blade tight in his right hand. He was in a dank hallway, a doorway on the far end. He stealthily ran towards the door ahead of him, hearing shots to be coming out directly on the other side. He gripped the knob of the door, slowly trying to turn it. It was unlocked, the knob turning gently. He slowly pulled it open, seeing a good four men ahead of him by a staircase, firing out of the two front doors of the casino.
Dead bodies already littered the inside of the casino. Krypt slowly began to walk up to the nearest one, his face slowly turning to a snarl. He raised up his blade, plunging it down into the back of Vlad's neck, killing him almost instantly. The other three men noticed Krypt, turning their guns to him with wide eyes. Krypt punched the nearest one in the stomach with his Power Fist, the man vomiting into his mouth almost immediately, kneeling over in pain. Krypt forced him up and used him as something of a shield, the remaining two men firing at Krypt, his meatshield taking their bullets. Outside, Dawn could tell that the men inside were now firing at something inside the casino, having turned their attention away from the street's gunmen. She got up and raced into the casino's first room, seeing two men firing at a standing piece of bloody meat. She raised her assault rifle and fired four shots into the closest man, killing him. The last man realized he was alone, dropping his gun and raising his hands.
Krypt dropped his meatshield. The rest of Dawn's team walked into the casino. Joey walked up to the last remaining man, shoving him to the ground, to his back. He stomped down on the man's stomach, listening to him beg for mercy, Joey's stomp knocking the air out of him slightly. Lana looked away as Joey ignored the man's pleas, raising up his gun, the Tommy Gun letting out a few flashes as it fired ten rapid bullets into the man. "Everyone, reload your guns, there's gonna be more on the second floor." Dawn said. Everyone checked their guns, reloading them and readying them to deal out death. They all marched into the nearby room by the bar and caged comedy area, seeing the room to be empty of life. Several corpses littered the floor. "We killed a lot of innocent people..." Lana said a little quietly and regretfully. Stitch shrugged. "We can't help them, Lana. They were at the wrong place at the wrong time, that's all there is to it." Lana murmured out "...I guess..."
Dawn said "The staircase goes downstairs and upstairs, but nobody's ever in the basement. Just an old boxing ring that nobody uses anymore. Upstairs has a few rooms and a bunch of guys, so we'll have to be careful. The third floor only has about four rooms, along with a big pool. The third floor is the personal bedrooms of Bishop and a few other close people to him." Joey looked at her. "How do you know all that?" He questioned. She smiled knowingly and said "How do you think? I turned into a little bird and flew up there to see when you weren't looking!" Stitch let out a chuckle. Joey made a face, looking off to the staircase going up to the second floor. "Fuck it, I'm checking it out, everyone come on." Dawn raised an eyebrow as Joey quickly walked off to the staircase going to the second floor, everyone following him. "Hey, Joey, I was kidding, relax. Wait for us, you have no idea what's up there." Joey walked up around the middle of the staircase, looking over his shoulder, saying "And you do? You've been gone for ages! Things have changed, Dawn." A gun suddenly peeked over the side of the staircase from the second floor, Dawn's eyes widening. "Joey!" Lana cried. Joey's blood sprayed out as a good five bullets punched through his suit through his mid section. His body fell down the stairs, stopping near Dawn's feet. The look in his eyes made it clear. He was dead.
Dawn raced forwards, bursting her assault rifle at the top of the stairs, running to the top while firing. Stitch shouted out her name. She saw the man that had shot Joey. She shot him dead right at the top of the stairs. A veritable wall of bullets began to fly towards her, Dawn taking cover behind a nearby wall. Lana got to the top of the steps, pointing out her H&K CAWS. It's shots sounded like the clapping of thunder as it quickly fired powerful shotgun shell after shell, spraying pellets in all directions. Dawn was surprised Lana would take such a risk, running out into the open. Lana must have downed several people, shouts and screams of pain sounding out before Lana was finally hit in the hip with a bullet, her finger releasing the trigger for only a moment, but that moment was long enough for more bullets to begin flying once more. Lana was quickly hit another horrible seven times, her body falling to the ground. Dawn thought she might have been dead, but that was not the case. She was gurgling blood and shaking slightly. She was on death's doorstep to be sure, but quick and speedy help could bring her back if she had powerful enough chems put into her.
Dawn roared for her team to come up the stairs and grab Lana. Stitch ran up with Ice, the two of them providing cover for Krypt as he grabbed Lana by the arms. Krypt grunted as a bullet hit him in the side, Stitch taking a bullet to the leg. They all got behind cover. Stitch ignored the pain bursting in his leg, pulling out a Super Stimpack from his medical bag. "Use it on her!" He said, passing the Super Stimpack to Dawn, firing around the corner at a Bishop soldier that had tried to sneak up on them. "You brought me back from the brink..." Dawn said quietly, fastening the Super Stimpack to Lana's upper left arm. "...Now let me return the favour." The Super Stimpack's needle shot down into her flesh, making a small hole and piercing through her armour's sleeve, injecting it's medicine into her. Dawn held Lana steady as she began to shake and tremble violently. Lana's eyes were wide, but it's like she could see nothing, just staring at the ceiling of the room they were in blankly.
A few chairs sat near the staircase, the staircase having a metal railing around it. The room had a doorway in it, leading into a hallway. Bullets continued to ring out, Dawn staring hard into Lana's face. "Wake the fuck up, Lana!" Dawn commanded. Lana began to grit her teeth, suddenly shutting her eyes. She gasped loudly, sitting up slightly. Dawn smiled with relief. Lana felt along her chest and stomach, feeling her bullet wounds slowly begin to close. She sighed with fading panic. "Thank you so much!" Lana said, looking into Dawn's eyes. Dawn nodded for a moment in acknowledgment before jumping to her feet. A few men began to charge towards the staircase from the hallway. "Take them down!!" Dawn shouted, raising up her assault rifle and pointing it towards the doorway, Stitch and Ice stepping over to it and getting ready to fire. They stepped out into the doorway, firing a hail of whizzing bullets, taking the chargers down. They got behind cover once more.
"How many are there?" Stitch shouted over the din of fire. Dawn shook her head. "I never got to see, but there has to be a lot!" Krypt suddenly dashed into the hallway, Ice calling out his name in worry. Krypt ducked behind objects as he raced down the hallway, heading for a man standing just at the end of the hallway, in the doorway of another room. He jumped up and smashed his Power Fist into his face before diving into another room nearby, through a doorway close by. The man's jaw broken, his head twisted to the side, he fell down, apparently unconscious. Bullets fired at Krypt's room at an alarming rate. Dawn got up and said "Hallway's clear! Let's go!" Lana grabbed her H&K CAWS and followed the quickly-moving trio as they went down the hall. A few doorways were on either side of them, but they knew Krypt to be in the last one on the right. Heavy footsteps suddenly ricocheted around the rooms. A menacing low hum sounded out, quickly picking up speed. Dawn's eyes widened.
"Someone's got a minigun!" She said. Hardly a second after her words had left her lips, a quick bursting of bullets sounded out, the bullets flying out and crashing through the weak walls of the building, going out in a line of death and mayhem. Dawn crouched and ran down the hallway, bullets passing through the walls just above her. Krypt got low and behind cover in the room he was in. She looked around the corner of the doorway. The next room was large and had a few billiard tables, along with another staircase leading upwards. The man with the minigun was large and muscular, dressed in green combat armour. A good ten men stood behind him, letting him fire without them getting in the way. Dawn narrowed her eyes as got back fully behind cover. "I have no idea how we're going to get past this one..." Dawn thought.
She felt someone crawl up beside her, it being Lana. Lana, almost as if she could sense Dawn's thoughts, said "I...I have some Buffout and some Psycho, I could take them and rush them all...It'd make a good enough distraction for the rest of you to get a shot at them..." Dawn looked at her, quickly saying "I'm not throwing anyone at these guys, we don't need to sacrifice anyone to do this!" Lana coughed as some dust from a wall floated by her face. "Dawn, we can't sneak up on these guys, and there's no way we can just run into the minigun, it'd cut us in half!" Dawn said "Look, he's going to have to reload eventually!...But...Then the other guys could just cover him...Fuck!..."
Coming up with an idea of sorts, Dawn began to crawl backwards, heading into a nearby room. She stood up. Just on the other side of the wall was the man with the minigun. He hadn't shot through the wall to his immediate right, so Dawn was safe for the time being. She raised up her assault rifle and pointed it at the wall, where the main din of fire came from. She squeezed and held the trigger, a determined look on her face as her bullets began to tear through the wall. A shout of warning came from one of the men behind the minigunner. The minigunner began to turn to the side, firing into the room Dawn was in. Dawn moved flat against the wall to her left, narrowly avoiding a few bullets. Lana leaned around the corner, firing a few shotgun blasts, downing one of Bishop's men. The minigunner turned his attention back to the direction of Krypt's room, to the hallway Lana stood in.
Lana ducked down as the hail of fire returned. The wall more or less destroyed, Dawn gave it a quick kick, busting open a hole in it. She opened fire, hitting the minigunner with a few bullets, his armour stopping them. He turned his attention back to her, stepping over to the small hole in the weakened wall, kicking it open with a few hits. Dawn's eyes widened as he stepped inside with a dark grin. Dawn ran up to him, punching him across the face. He grunted, beginning to warm up his gun once more, the barrels slowly starting to spin. The rest of the men began to flood into the hallways, Stitch running to Lana's side, the two of them opening fire. Krypt ran out of his room finally, stabbing a man in the neck from behind. Stitch shouted in pain as he was shot twice in the stomach.
Ice threw her spear at the man that had shot him, the spear striking him clean in the chest, going through him and sticking out his back from the mighty force of her throw. Lana finished off the last of the men. Dawn shot the minigunner's hands and arms, but the gloves of his combat armour stopped the bullets. His gun was spinning fast enough to fire, but nothing was happening. That was when he suddenly realized that no bullets were coming from it because it was empty. Dawn grinned and tore the man's helmet from him, pointing her assault rifle into his face. He swung a mighty fist at her, Dawn nimbly jumping back and dodging him. He swung again, Dawn rolling to the side, his fist hitting the wall behind her. He groaned in pain. Dawn snapped a foot out, hitting the man behind his knees, forcing his bulk to fall. She smashed him over the back of the head with her assault rifle, and, as he fell, fired a few rounds into his face. The behemoth had finally been slain.
Dawn asked "Everyone okay?" Ice called out "Stitch's been hit, he's bleeding bad!" Dawn ran over to where her voice was. Stitch lay on the ground, his hands to his stomach, his face pale. He was bleeding profusely, his hands coated in dark crimson. Lana was pawing through one of her medical bags. "I have one last Super Stimpack, let me use it on him!" Ice and Dawn stepped back from him, Krypt walking over to Dawn. He got close to her and whispered "Dawn, I can hear a bit of movement upstairs. Bishop probably has a few personal guards with him. No telling what kind of weaponry they're carrying." Dawn nodded, eyeing the minigun that the big guard she had killed had dropped. The man might have had more ammo on him, and if so, one of the team might have been able to use it. Dawn said to him "Go and check the big guard for any more ammo for his minigun. If he does, load it in. We might want to use it."
Krypt nodded as Lana fixed her Super Stimpack to Stitch's left forearm. It's needle shot into him, Stitch gritting his teeth and closing his eyes tight as the medicine began to run through him, his body quivering a few times before he calmed down. The Super Stimpack spent, Lana unfastened it from him, dropping it by his side. She helped him stand up. "You okay?" She asked. He nodded. Krypt walked back out to Dawn. "He had some ammo, I loaded the minigun up with it. Now what?" He asked. Dawn nodded gently as she said "I'll use it. Stitch would have been my first choice, but he'll still be weak right now. I don't like the idea of rushing up those stairs blind, but...I have an idea. Lana, you still have those drugs you mentioned?" Lana nodded. "Buffout and Psycho, yeah." Dawn's face was serious as she said "Give them to me." Lana said "Dawn, you're not thinking of-" "Give me the damn drugs, Lana." Lana slowly reached into one of her medical bags, pulling out a strange and thick syringe of sorts along with a few small green pills, the pills having an "X" designed into them. Dawn took them and said "Krypt, think you can get that guy out of his armour?"
Krypt nodded, walking back over to the large man. Lana reached into her pack and pulled out another item. It looked almost like a red pill of sorts, large and flat like a poker chip. "Here...It's a Mentat. Psycho makes people pretty stupid, so...The Mentat will help keep you as yourself." Dawn took it as well, nodding. Stitch raised his eyebrows as he said "That's an awful lot of chems, Dawn..." Dawn shrugged. "At least I'm not taking Jet." Everyone sort of nodded a little in agreement. Krypt walked back over to her. "He's out of his armour, Dawn." Dawn nodded and walked over to him. She began to get dressed in his armour, telling them her plan while doing so. "I'm gonna take these chems, and with the armour and minigun, I'll basically be unstoppable. Whatever Bishop has up there will be no match for me. I want you guys to just stay behind me, because the Psycho will make me get pretty crazy. With the armour though, I should be okay from whatever they throw at me. Alright?" Everyone nodded. "Just try to stay safe." Lana said.
Dawn nodded. Dressed in the green combat armour, she pulled the helmet on, letting her long hair flow free behind her from under the armour. She quickly swallowed the Buffout and Mentats pills, injecting the Psycho into her wrist, throwing the spent syringe to the side. She didn't do anything for a few moments. Suddenly she let out a pained grunt, falling to a knee. Stitch stepped closer to her. "She okay?" Ice asked. Dawn punched the floor roughly, calming down, letting out a loud breath. "Never better..." She muttered. She blinked a few times as the drugs continued to take deeper effect. She grabbed the minigun and hoisted it up, everyone surprised at her Buffout-enhanced strength. She was breathing heavily, her eyes alight like insane fire. She quickly walked towards the staircase, beginning to warm up the minigun, the barrels slowly beginning to spin.
Rushing up the stairs, Dawn's mind was swimming in a drug-induced rage. "She's got the Avenger! Oh fuck!!" Someone cried. "Take the fuckin' bitch down!!" A man shouted before rushing into a nearby hallway. Dawn was faced with ten more men, all beginning to open fire on her. She began to fire the minigun, it's bullets tearing through the air. Men cried out in pain as the bullets hit them. A girl tried running close to Dawn, ending up being split in half along her waist from a line of bullets, her innards spilling to the ground, her two twitching body pieces collapsing in a heap. Dawn's eyes wide, she let out a maniacal laugh, mowing down Bishop's personal guards. She marched forward as soon as they had all been killed. She kicked open the door leading to the hallway, seeing three doors to her left in the hallway, a large pool actually filled with clean water to her right. Dawn kicked open the first door to her left, finding the room to be empty. She walked down the hall to the second door, ramming into it, opening it. The room was empty, as well. She was gritting her teeth with rage. "Where are you, Bishop?!" She shouted out.
An angry voice called back to her from the third room. "In here, cunt!" Dawn narrowed her eyes and ran to the third door, ramming her shoulder into it, a "beeping" sounding out. An explosion whited Dawn's vision, her body flying back, dropping the minigun as she flew into the pool. Her mind went dark. Stitch rushed into the room, seeing Bishop standing there, being an elderly man with a cane in one hand, a .223 pistol in the other, dressed in a fancy suit. Stitch rolled to the side as Bishop fired out a shot, the bullet leaving a rather sizable hole in the wall behind where Stitch had stood only moments before. Lana dove into the pool, swimming after Dawn as she began to sink. Ice rushed into the room, shooting Bishop a few times in the legs, the man letting out a pained grunt and falling down. Stitch ran over and stomped on his hand, the one he held his pistol in, the man crying out in pain. "Fuck you and the fuckin' Wrights! You fuckers are gonna rot in a pool of the devil's own piss, grargh!" Stitch hoisted him up to his feet and grabbed him by the collar of his suit, leading him over to a window in the room. Ice shot the window open for Stitch. Bishop looked over his shoulder.
"You fuck!" Stitch narrowed his eyes an wrath. "Have a nice flight, you son of a bitch!" He said, pushing Bishop through the window, Bishop shouting out as he plummeted the three stories to the pavement below, a slight crunching sound coming out on the air. Lana pulled Dawn out of the water and to the side of the pool, tearing her helmet from her, pulling off the armour covering her chest. It seemed as though Bishop had placed some plastic explosives directly in front of the doorway and detonated them as soon as she opened the door. She brought the side of her face down by Dawn's. She wasn't breathing. She had inhaled a lot of water before stopping her breathing, too. Lana began to breathe air into her lungs, pressing down on her chest, manually forcing her heart to beat. "Come on Dawn, I've already saved you once today, don't make that pointless by dying here!..." Everyone watched as Lana continued to try and resuscitate Dawn. "Wake up, come on, breathe...Please!" Dawn didn't react. Lana kept trying, everyone losing hope with every passing second...
"Dawn, wake up...Please..." "This can't be the end of her!..." "Fuck, try a Super Stimpack!..." "It has nothing to do with being hurt, she just inhaled a lot of water and stopped breathing..." "...Super Stimpacks can't fix that!..." "...I don't think she's gonna make it..."
Dawn suddenly opened her eyes, sitting up, looking forwards. A cheer rose up. Dawn looked around. She was in a large room in the Wright manor, lying naked in a bed. Luckily, the bed's sheets were raised to her neck. Keith, her team, and many of the Wright soldiers stood around her bed. Keith was grinning as he said "You did it Dawn, you took care of that fucker Bishop, I'm so proud of you! We were all so worried, you were out for a few hours! I can never thank you enough! Anything you need, anything you want, just name it!" Dawn smiled and raised a hand to her face slightly, closing her eyes, "Well...I'd like some food to go, and some drinks...Nuka-Cola only though, no alcohol...I hate to rush out of here, but I'm tired, and I have someone to see...I can talk with you all tomorrow...Okay?..." Keith nodded, a few people beginning to leave the room. Keith said "It's unfortunate that Joey died, but he knew the risks." Dawn nodded. "I know, Keith..." Stitch grinned and said "It was great to work with you again, Dawn!" Krypt nodded, Ice saying "You're da best fighter I've ever seen." Dawn smiled slightly. Her clothes were by the bed. Everyone began to leave to let her get dressed, the last to leave being Lana, Lana closing the door behind her.
Dawn got up with a sigh, getting dressed quickly. Her assault rifle lay by her bed, as well. Her head throbbed with pain slightly. She grabbed her assault rifle before opening the door, stepping outside. More congratulation followed before Dawn was handed a bag of food by Keith and finally being able to leave. She just wanted to be with Kid by that point. The Wright family was swinging into a full-blown celebratory party, and Dawn would have loved to stay, but Kid was much more important to her than a party, even one as awesome as that one was sure to be. Besides, she was rather sleepy in the end, anyway. Just before she walked through the front doors, someone tapped her on the shoulder. Dawn turned around. Lana stood there, outside of her armour, wearing a blue tank top and a pair of ripped and dirty jeans.
She was smiling shyly, looking into Dawn's face. Dawn raised an eyebrow, saying "Oh, hi, Lana. I was just about to leave." Lana nodded, saying "I know, I'm not trying to stop you, I just wanted to...Um...Please don't freak out..." Dawn kept looking at Lana curiously. Lana suddenly closed her eyes, blushing and bringing her face to Dawn's, kissing her passionately for a moment before pulling away. She took a few slow steps backwards before blushing more and saying "You know...For saving me...Thanks..." Dawn blinked and watched her back up, a bit of rose entering her cheeks before she raised her eyebrows, Lana turning and walking away, Dawn stepping through the doors and leaving the Wright manor...
Kid was feeling deeply hungry. He heard footsteps approach the door to Dawn's room from the hallway beyond. A knock sounded out against it. "Kid, it's me..." Dawn's voice gently said. Kid bolted up from the bed, smiling happily as he unlocked the door. Dawn stood there, smiling happily as well, holding a brown bag in her hands along with an assault rifle. Kid grabbed her in a hug, grinning, Dawn holding him back happily, closing her eyes. They embraced for a few more moments before Dawn got into the room, closing her door and locking it behind herself. She handed Kid the bag, Kid opening it up. There was some wrapped up Brahmin steaks within, along with a few bottles of Dazzling Blue Nuka-Cola. Dawn began to feel famished, the two of them eating heartily together, finishing up the food in hardly three minutes. Dawn undressed, sighing softly as she lay down on the bed by the already-nude Kid. They lay close together for a few minutes before Dawn softly said "I almost died today...More than once...I lost a friend, too...I nearly lost more..." She sighed softly.
"I'm glad you're okay...Did you go out and do the thing you wanted to?" Kid nodded. "Yeah...I did..." He said softly. Dawn nodded. "That's good..." Kid got closer to her, getting over her slightly, keeping his face close to her's. "I was worried about you....You were out for so l-long..." He murmured. Dawn smiled. "Sorry...I was caught up in a lot of things...And now I'm just dying for some sleep..." Kid looked a little disappointed. Dawn remembered that she said she would want to make love with him once she got back. She hugged him tight and said "I'm so sorry Kid, but I'm exhausted right now....First thing in the morning, okay? I'll make it worth your while if you wait!" She smiled and winked at him. He smiled and blushed a little, saying "Okay...I can wait until th-then..." Dawn smiled more and said "Good...Now...Let's get under the sheets...I want to hold you close..." Kid got under the sheets with her, wrapping his arms around her ribs lovingly, the side of his face just above her large breasts, under her chin by her throat. She wrapped her arms around him in the darkness, quickly slipping into a deep sleep with him close...
