Pretty fast update, lol. Hope it's a good one, I'm making these last three chapters quick and juicy, full of content and hopefully information too. I really wanna get into the stuff I have planned, as soon as possible. I mean, I often find myself awake at 4AM because I was woken up by an amazing idea for the story appearing in my dreams... It's true.
Chapter twelve- Veni Vidi Vigo, the Sunstone chronicles.
Time, next morning.
Last night Triss and Geralt had talked for hours and then they made to love to each other passionately, more full of love and devotion to one another, than lust and desire for each other, that's the way they always are together. Love, Lust, Desire, Devotion... For them they cannot have one without the other three, three without the forth... And they wouldn't have it any other way.
(A/N I know that you aren't supposed to start a sentence with 'And,' but like... Remind me, who the fuck cares? lol:)
Geralt ran his hand along the smooth elegant curve of her side, down to her hip and kissed her shoulder, with a moan she awoke. Rolling over in the bed halfway to kiss him, and give him a good view of her.
He eagerly kissed her back, their eyes connected sharing their love, he reached his hand up to cup her breast and knead it in his hand.
She mewled into the kiss, clearly enjoying his hand on her, more than enjoying it.
"Triss, what were you writing when I walked in yesterday?" He asked her, curious.
She sighed in dissatisfaction, wanting him to have continued what he was doing to her, and more... This is what he did to her, wound her up like a top, then instead of letting her spin, he just layed the top on the table not letting it spin, Argh.
"I was writing a letter to send to Kovir, in reply to King Tancred." She said the name with respect, in the same voice she used to talk about Foltest with, before he fucked his sister that is...
"Oh? What did his majesty want?" Triss was the mage advisor to Tancred, she wasn't in Kovir to take the position yet, but she was, so Tancred was Geralt's... liege? He's a witcher, he doesn't have a king. He respected, followed, and protected Foltest for the sole reason of being able to be with Triss by proxy, that's it, and it made it more than worth it to him. He still hadn't liked having anything to do with politics one bit, especially having to be Foltest's personal body guard... But he'd never have asked her to give it up, just as she'd never have asked him to give up being a witcher.
She looked slightly impressed, pleased at his response. "He wanted to know when I would be coming to Kovir, to take the position of mage advisor to the King." She finished.
"Ahhh, his majesty is needing his advisor." Geralt said. He toyed with her nipple with his finger, playfully, looking into her eyes.
She purred.
"Mmmhmm, he'll have to wait a while longer though."
"What did you say in the letter?" He asked.
"That I needed to finish defeating the Wild Hunt in the north, and then I will be able to come to Kovir, and that I'm bringing my witcher friend."
"You really tell him about the Wild hunt? You think he'll believe you?" He asked, curious.
"Well, he did offer me the position to be his personal mage advisor, so I assume he would believe what I say? If not we're gonna have problems, haha." She laughed at the last part, jesting.
Geralt chuckled too, "You certainly will, but I can just picture them all at court right now blabbering about how the Wild Hunt isn't real and is just a legend." He chuckled.
"To be completely honest, I can too, maybe I can make a part of the battle into a megascope crystal and bring it to him as a gift?" She inquired.
"Could you? Is that even possible?"
"Yes, it is, especially for a one of a kind incredible powerful and talented Sorceress such as myself..." She said with pride.
"Geez, don't swell too much, any more and you'll be kissing twenty-two inches byebye."
She laughed loudly at that, "haha, Geralt, very funny!"
"I thought it was too, glad you agree." He said with sarcasm.
"But whatever part of the battle I chose to record, I have to be there, so it won't be the specatcular moment that you cut down Eredin... Unless I am there with you."
"No way, I have to fight Eredin alone."
"I know, and I understand, I won't be sitting on the side line though... I am plenty capable to fight them myself, I imagine Ciri will want to as well."
"She shouldn't, it's too risky, I worry for you to be honest."
"I know you do Geralt, I will be alright, you better take care of yourself though."
"We will win, and we will survive this. Together."
She just kissed him hungrily and passionately, no words needed.
"Geralt?"
"Yes, beautiful." He smirked.
She blushed, "What did you mean when you told Yen she needed to tell Ciri before she finds out? What about?"
"Ugh, well... When I was on Skellige, with Yen, searching for Ciri on the island. We came across a village, Lofoten, on Hindarsfjall. The Wild Hunt had attacked the village, and Ciri had been there, she met a young boy named Skjall that helped her escape, but by doing so he was cast out as a coward, a craven."
"Uh huh?"
"Well, he was sent to a garden, to fight Morkvarg, a man turned into a werewolf by a curse... Forever going hungry, the usual."
"Mhm."
"Well we found him, we had hoped to find him alive... But we of course weren't so lucky, I had told Yen as much, before we arrived at the garden. But she didn't seemed concerned, which I thought was weird, but it's Yen..."
"Yeah, she's weird like that."
"Mhm, anyway... She told me to bring the corpse up by her, and she wanted to use Necromancy to get information out of his dead corpse..."
"That bitch has no regard for the rules..."
"That's what I said, not like that of course... But she didn't listen, and we found out that Ciri had fell out of the sky, with her Elven mage friend, who is Avallac'h of course. Wounded, badly, and she had rested there to heal, met the boy, taken a good liking to him and that's when the Hunt attacked."
"Damn, poor girl... If she found out that Yen used Necromancy on him, she'd be furious."
"Yes, she would, and Yen didn't feel bad at all. When she got in trouble with the priestesses, the garden was destroyed of course, it was a holy garden of Freya... At least she had the decency to take full responsibility for it, even when she could have forced some of the blame onto me, she didn't."
"I can't believe that, I mean... I could imagine her doing it just because finding Ciri was paramount, but she could have at least tried to find another way. That's just horrible, and ugh." She shivered.
"Yeah... So that's what she needs to tell Ciri, it's a horrible secret to keep, and she will find out eventually... You know what I mean."
"Yes, I do..." she shivered again.
"You look cold, maybe I could heat you up?" He asked her, genuine.
She looked at him, then shook her head, "Sorry Geralt... But talking about Necromancy has ruined my libido like dropping a dead fish into wine."
"I get it, we should go see the others, we should be leaving for Skellige today."
"Mhmm, let's go."
With that they got out of bed, put their respective clothes on, not without wandering eyes though of course... Then they walked downstairs.
"So are we ready to leave?" Geralt asked everyone.
Everyone was gathered in the Chamelion... Francesca, Yennefer, Rita, Phillipa, Ciri, Avallac'h, nd there were two new faces as well-
Flashback
The megascope hummed to life in front of Francesca, it was Triss's, they had gone to her old house and it was actually still there...
Ida Emean Aep Sivney appeared in the hologram, she was wearing her usual Evlish attire.
When Ida saw Francesca standing in the projection, she immediately got down on one knee and bowed her head.
"ceádmil, me rhena, how caen I be ar service?" (Greetings, My Queen, how can I be of service?) She said respectfully, all in Elder Speech
"ceádmil Ida, please, get up, we're sisters after all."
"Of course, Aen Saevherne, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I have ultimately decided that defeating the Wild Hunt is paramount in ensuring the health and safety of this world, and my realm, so I have come to assist the Lodge and the witcher in protecting Cirilla. I called to ask if you would be able to come as well?"
"Hmmm, if it is truly this important, then I will come and help as well."
"It is important Ida, if Eredin takes Ciri, then the conjunction will begin again, and the entire world will be wrought with death and destruction."
"Hmmm, yes you are right, very well, Francesca, I will be there soon. Va fail."
"Va Fail, Ida." (A/N- Shitty exchange I know, but in case it's not obvious, I don't exactly know the character arcs of these two characters very well... lol. I'm making it how I want as I go.)
Geralt noticed that Ida was talking with Francesca and Avallac'h, no doubt being briefed on the situation and the importance. Geralt was pleased that the old sage actually came, good.
Geralt then looked to the other face in the crowd, or more accurately, the one standing in the far corner with his arms crossed, looking unimpressed and brooding. No one was getting very close to him, and he seemed to like it that way.
"Geralt! Who the hell is that?" Triss said to him, worried.
"Uhm, A witcher I met on the path, long story, I'll tell you later..."
"Pfft, fine, imma go talk to the sages."
"Alright, see you later."
"Mhm."
They separated and Geralt went to talk to the witcher.
When he got close the witcher looked up, and nodded.
"Well, nice to finally see a familiar face, greetings Wolf."
"I must say this is quite the surprise seeing you here, greetings, Gaetan."
(A/N- GASP!)
"Yes, I didn't think I'd end up here either, but here I am. Want the long story or the short?"
"Short, of course."
"Course, anyway, I was on the path and I ended up in Novigrad, this seemed like the best Inn around and I opened the door, and I am greeted by the sight of 3 Elven Sages, three famous Sorceresses, and a very interesting white haired girl with a sword on her back. Most noticeable thing, was the Cat school medallion on her waist..."
"Of course."
"Yeah, me a cat and all, anyway, I was a bit hesitant but the curiosity was too much, so I eventually walked in and asked her."
"Did she even tell you? That's a harsh story."
"No, not the whole thing, just said she got revenge on someone who had wronged my guild."
-WARNING, HUGE SPOILERS-
Spoilers for book, skip ahead if you don't want to be spoiled.
"And that's true as well, Ciri killed Leo Bonhart, an assassin that was unmatched with the sword. Had killed 3 witchers in his time, one from the wolf, cat, and griffin. Very impressive, but highly offensive to you and me, without the details, Ciri slaughtered him for abusing her."
"Damn, won't mess with her... So few cat school witchers left, I'm glad she got revenge for my brother."
"Me too, very few wolves left as well. We lost our master witcher recently, had been around since the beginning."
"Damn, I'm sorry to hear it, we're going extinct..."
"Yes, we are, slowly but surely."
"Anyway, why did you decide to stick around? You gonna help us with our little expedition? Or just hear for a drink?"
"Both, I figure I gotta see this Wild Hunt for myself, your sorceresses informed me of the situation, and that you were here. I said that I was curious, and I'll wait to see what you got to tell me. I gotta do something to right my wrongs..."
"We're doing this for Ciri, Eredin can't get his hands on her."
"Do it for her too, grateful for what she did."
"Mhm."
"I heard of the rumors of how you prefer sorceresses to normal women, but damn, stories sure as hell weren't bluffing... What is that? 6? I think I see some big names in that crowd too."
"Haha, yep, Phillipa Eilhart, Margarita Laux-Antille, then Yennefer of..."
"Yeah I know."
"Ha, and Triss Merigold, the fourteenth of the hill."
"The male sage is Avallac'h, then Ida Emean and Francesca Findabair." He finished, pointing to each.
"The Queen of the Elves... Wonderful."
"She's not too bad."
"Pfft, damn Lodge."
"Yeah, damn Lodge..."
"So, when we leaving for Skellige?"
"Should be today, gotta find an artifact called the Sunstone, and free Fringilla Vigo, hopefully."
"What's the Sunstone?"
"Elven relic that we can use to lure Eredin into a trap."
"hmm, sounds useful."
"Definitely, it's good to have you on board, we need all the help we can get, and another Witcher is perfect."
"Thought the same myself, be glad to help out, maybe I'll even end up in one of those ballads from Dandelion..."
Geralt laughed at that.
"Alright, I'll go ask the sages if we are ready to set out. We got a boat in the harbor."
"Sounds good, Wolf."
"Great." With that he walked away to go talk to Avallac'h and Francesca, and Triss.
"We ready to head out?" Geralt asked them.
"It would appear so," Avallac'h said.
"Who is your witcher friend?" Francesca asked.
"His name is Gaetan, he's a cat school witcher, and he'll help us defeat the hunt."
Francesca nodded.
"Let's get everyone headed that way then," Geralt said.
"Mhm," they all agreed, and started letting everyone know they are heading out.
"Listen up team, we're setting sail to Skellige in three hours, the ship is in the harbor, by the warehouse."
Murmurs of agreement went through the gathering, and they all started heading out.
Phil and Rita teleported out, Yennefer decided to walk, Francesca and Ida teleported out, Avallac'h teleported out with Ciri. Triss, Geralt and Gaetan all decided to walk the way there.
"Geralt, do you trust him?" Triss asked, quietly.
"I dunno, don't really know him all that well. He has his problems, but he's not a crazed assassin like the other cat school witchers."
She seemed a bit skeptical. "You know how I am about witchers from other schools..."
"I know, Gaetan isn't like Letho, like just look at him. He's a fishbone, Letho was like a mountain."
"Pfft, you're right in that aspect..."
"You wanna know how I met him?"
"How?"
"I was traveling to honorton for a contract, I get there and everyone was gone, alghouls eating their fill... There was a young girl that said a bad man with cat eyes had killed everyone... Now before you jump to conclusions, yes it was him, and you know why?"
She didn't look impressed, but said: "Why?" In a "No matter what you say I won't be happy," tone.
"He had killed the monster that had been terrorizing the village, but when he went for payment they only wanted to give him 12 crowns, when he pushed for more, they told him they had more in the barn and to follow them... That's when they tried to kill him, stuck a pitchfork in his gut, how he survived is a miracle."
"gods damn, that's fucking ridiculous. If they didn't have the money to pay, they shouldn't have put up the contract! Then trying to kill him? Just for wanting the money that was promised for killing the monster, after he had done it... That's pathetic." Triss said.
"Yes it was, you know how I got my name the: "Butch of Blaviken," so it wasn't my right to judge him, and in that story there was wrong on both sides... The reason he spared the girl, was because he said she reminded him of his sister."
"Wow, you're right, wrong on both sides, probably more on the villages than the witchers."
"that's what I thought. Anyway, I took the girl to her aunt in Oreton. Gave her a pile of crowns to take care of her... Her name was Millie. Later she gave me a thank you drawing."
"That's so sweet, you really have a good heart, Geralt."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, love. Look! We're here already."
"Mhm, let's get going."
5 hours later.
"Well, that just proves where Emyhr is held up..."
"What is he doing attacking Skellige? Those are my friends!"
"He wants to give the isles to you."
"He never learns!"
"Nope, but at least we know where Fringilla is. How do we get her out?" Geralt said.
"I don't know..."- Triss
"Can you teleport me onto his boat?"
"gods no! He's better shielded than the emperors alcove..."
"But we could try to force our way through, we have Francesca and two other sages..."
"We need Fringilla in one piece," - Avallac'h
"I'll get on the ship myself," Geralt said.
"How You want to swim? With swords on your back? You'll get shot up like a duck before you can say "The White Flame Dancing on the Graves of its Foes." Triss stated.
"Don't panic, he'll find a way!" Yen said.
"I can see you fucking care..." Triss said to her.
"Alright, I'll go talk to Crach and see where Ermion is to talk to him, he should know where to find the Sunstone... Then I will go rescue Fringilla." Geralt said.
"Pfft," Both Triss and Yen snorted.
"Oh, grow up already." Geralt said to them.
"Be careful Geralt, please." Triss said to him.
"I will," he kissed her then he was off.
Geralt had talked to Crach, Ermion was meeting with Lugos, so he went there... Had to kill Lugos's entire soldier outpost, then talked to Ermion and he said to talk to a guy named Fishlung.
Geralt went to talk to him about the Sunstone, it was in a cave near Kaer Trolde. He set off to tell Rita so that they could go.
Actually scratch that, he is going to go sneak onto the Emperor's ship and get Fringilla, it will be dark by the time he gets to either place, so he might as well do the one that the needs the darkness for it.
"Guards! Bring me Fringilla Vigo... You may remove her dimeritium shackles."
...
"No introductions are needed from what I've heard." - Emyhr
...
"Fringilla... Been a while."
"We could take a boa-"
"I am sick and tired of boats," she replied and opened a portal, he said: "And I detest being teleported, but have it your way..."
"Fringilla..." Triss said, greeting.
"Triss... Where's Yennefer?"
"She'll be here soon, and I'm sure she'll want to talk to you."
"
"Yes, I am sure."
"Rita, I know where the Sunstone is, it's in a cave on the north side of the Isle near Kaer Trolde."
"Excellent, let's go!"
"Let's."
"I say, look at this..."
"Elven tunnel entrance, a crypt."
"Yes, let me open the passage."
She raised her hand and it glowed green, the door opened like he had used Naheleni's eye.
"Let's go."
"How far down in this tunnel do you think it is?"
"I dunno, I don't even know how long this tunnel is, let alone how far we'll have to go..."
"Wonderful."
"Rita, what was Triss like in school?"
"Hmmm, she was very polite to all the other girls, never starting any fights or arguments, but she would defend herself if they ever started..."
"Sounds about right." Geralt pointed out.
"Yes, she worked day and night, rarely getting any sleep, wanting to graduate as best she could." She said.
"When she starts something she works at it until she drops of exhaustion..." Geralt put in.
"Haha! That she does. She passed every test with flying colors, always at the top of her class, always doing everything correctly, scolding herself if she did it wrong."
"Then she hasn't changed a bit."
"Nope."
They got to an open part of the cave.
"Siren, and drowners." Geralt said.
"What? Then kill them!" Rita said.
"Mhmm, attack the ones you can."
"Not very good with offensive spells, but I'll try."
"That one of the reasons you got captured?"
"Mhmm," she mumbled.
She opened her hands, and they glew white, she muttered an incantation and made as if to throw the something... It hit the Siren flat, and like a bomb exploded outwards in a white sphere. (Like the ones Eredin cast down onto you?)
The Siren and the drowners got caught in the blast and instantly died.
He looked impressed, sheathed his sword and looked back at her.
"Not good with offensive spells, my ass!" Geralt mocked to her.
She just looked at him and shrugged.
He chuckled.
"Let's go." Geralt said and they moved on.
They continued through the carrion, he drew some power from a glowing rock on their way back.
They got to stairs, and they were collapsed.
"Can you..."
"The stiars? No need."
She moved her hands and chanted something, and the stairs magically appeared again, a master illusion.
"Wow, you a master illusionist?"
"Well technically all sorceresses are, some just are better than others, I'm one of those that are better. Come on."
They continued through the cave, killed a golem standing guard, and made a blood offering to a stone door... They got to the Sunstone room.
Geralt shifted a few mirrors, killed a few ghosts, must be a cave base of the Wild Hunt...
They got the Sunstone and teleported out, nothing real special, just some tomb raiding...
When they got back they saw mostly everyone gathered on the deck, Rita and Geralt announced the four words everyone has been waiting to hear, the four words that will give everyone the assurance they need that they CAN defeat the Wild hunt:
"We have the Sunstone."
A/N Let's go! Another chapter in 24 hours, I am insanely good! When I get to writing, I just don't stop, my super fast typing just takes off and it's liking printing my mind onto this page, it just never stops! Gaetan is on the crew, I hope that is a nice surprise, I mean... He's actually a pretty cool witcher, like, he's the only witcher other than Vesemir that has special swords, hint hint TEIGER! R&R, till next time! Please review!
