Part 13 - "Wolf"

Link's eyelids felt heavy. "Can't wait to get some sleep." He thought. Link stood by the small moat, thinking. He tried standing up, and found that not only was he shorter, but that he seemed to be confined to moving on all fours. The sun had already begun to set. His head felt like he had spun around in circles for a few minutes. He tried speaking, but found that only a growl escaped his throat. "What the fuck?!" Link thought. He realized he was still by the drawbridge to the Hyrule Marketplace, so Link dashed over to the little river of water that ran under it. To his surprise, he was able to run much faster than he could before. When he reached it, he quickly looked down into the ripples. The face of some kind of dog stared back at him!
"...." Link simply stared. He had blackish grayish fur coming down from his head to his snout, while the fur on either side of his nose and along his eyes was white. He had a large mane of black fur on his head, hanging back onto his neck. A strange design of white was on his forehead, consisting of a circle with lines going around it on four sides. The left and bottom lines didn't connect, however. It looked like it was in the shape of a crystal to Link. There were two white marks beside the top of his snout, near the design on his forehead. They looked like small circles that had a little tail, curving upwards. They were above his eyes. Link saw that his eye colour had been retained, staying a deep blue.
Link sighed, and his body let out a deep breath of air. Link saw that he had many sharp canine teeth at his disposal. Link turned from the moat, and began slowly walking away from the entrance to the Market. "Is this my karma? Was pleasing all those girls wrong? Is this some kind of punishment?" He thought. He trod along slowly, not knowing what to do. The moon rose as the sun set. Link felt an uncontrollable urge to look at it. It seemed to call him. "Why? Whyyyy!?" Link shouted, almost sadly. He let out a howl, calling to the moon. His head fell, staring to the ground. Link saw that the short fur on his paws was white, leading up his legs. He had sharp claws. "...I see Zant tried taking you to the Twilight World."
Link turned around quickly. He stared at the woman standing in front of him. She was tall, with orange hair. She wore a black cloak of sorts, which had a hood, and left one leg bare. Her eyes were red, with the white of her eyes yellow. She seemed to have some kind of purple lipstick on. She also seemed to wear purple eye shadow. She wore a strange kind of headdress on top of her hood, which had strings attached to it. At the bottom of the strings was a beautiful piece of jewellery, looking like a red jewel with designs around it, leading into a crisscross design that was on the upper part of her nose, between her eyes. There was what appeared to be a ribbon of some kind, on the back of her hood, with two ending parts hanging down on her forehead. Her hair was joined on her chest by a strange collar, almost made out of stone. She had pale gray skin. The cloak was long, and ran behind her body, almost to the ground. The inside was a light green.
The outside had white designs on it, looking like circles. There were only a few designs. Other than the designs, the cloak's edges were trimmed with white. She had a small hoop of jewellery, almost like a belt, going around her waist. It held up a long strip of cloth, which was situated a little bit below her visible navel, and hung down to nearly her ankles. The jewellery was like the one she wore on her head, having three red orbs, along with a small crisscross of what looked like a dark metal. The string had more orbs along it, near her hips. The jewellery hung low, like it would be above her nether area. Parts of her skin were dark, while most of it was a pale white, almost grey. Her left leg appeared to be black, with a glowing green line going around her ankle, and a small circle beneath it.
Glowing green lines could be seen along her right thigh, making beautiful designs in the shape of rectangles with squares inside them. A small portion of black could be seen, rearing up like a talon from the upper right portion of the cloth that covered her legs. Her hands were gray, but her forearms weren't. Up to her wrists, they were black, with glowing green designs on them. The black on her forearms led up to her middle finger, like the point of a spear. Her chest wasn't covered in the cloak, but her skin was black, covering her breasts in shadow. Her nipples were faintly apparent. Two small claw-like lines of black were visible under her right breast, pointing towards the the middle of her chest. Link thought she was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen.

She looked at him with a small smile. "It's me, Midna....This is how I really look." Link's eyes widened. "I knew she seemed familiar!" Link thought. Link smiled, his mouth revealing sharp teeth. Midna looked at him strangely, perhaps thinking he was going to attack her. "Link..." She murmured.
Link sighed inwardly, saying "I missed you." His new body let out a small whimper as Link walked closer to her. Midna's face softened, and she began to smile sweetly. She knelt down again, sitting on her knees. Link walked up, and stared into her eyes. "What the hell happened to me?" Link said, but his body let out a few growls and quiet barks. Link made a face, taking on a more relaxed outlook. Midna smiled, but it soon died. "First, let me tell you why I'm not cursed like before." Link watched her calmly. Midna closed her eyes, and sighed. The moon hung high in the sky, gently washing them both in a dark kind of light. Midna spoke. "Not long ago, I was captured by Zant. He wanted me dead, but I was able to make a deal with him. He was to let me go, alive, but I was to be banished from the Twilight Realm....So...Here I am." Link watched her. She opened her eyes. "I was in my homeland for a little bit, so I was reverted back to my true form. But, now that I'm here, I'm sure Zant will curse me again, and trap me in that small body he had me in before. "The reason you're a wolf right now is because Zant tried taking you to my world, but the Triforce of Courage saved you. It stopped you from being transported to the Twilight Realm, but it had to change your form to do so." Link listened quietly. She said. "Shit." Link thought. Midna smiled. "But, I have an idea." Link watched her stand up. "Now, normally, I wouldn't help someone of the Light...But...I'll make an exception. Midna smiled. "Okay...Here's the plan...I'll absorb your Twilight energy. Doing so will probably hasten my return to my cursed form, but it'll stop you from turning into a wolf." Midna smiled, but sadness still shone in her eyes. "Right...Well...S-See you..." Midna said, vanishing in a small cloud of smoke. Link sighed. "Until the next time..." He said with a hint of sadness. He crawled up from the water, standing on the shore. He saw his clothes neatly folded in a small pile ahead of him. He walked over, and began to dress just as the sun rose into the sky. He heard a cucco crow. The last piece of clothing he pulled on was his long hat. He walked over to the tree, and leaned against it. "Now...Where to go..." He thought.
