"CRAP!" Ester stumbled back, watching to her dismay as the wooden weapon shattered beneath the huge rocky carapace of the Goron. Once she managed to regain her balance, she let out a growl. "Great! Now how am I supposed to defend myself? Well... other than turning into a Goron myself... but that isn't happening at the edge of the Goron Village!" Her cheeks were tinted pink at the thought of changing into a half nude woman in front of the entrance. Especially in front of Chance.
Pulling the map Chance was holding towards her, she pointed to one of the buildings. "Here, this is the blacksmith's shop. I think I have enough rupees for a sword for me, though I'm not sure if you need a weapon too..."
Shrugging, she continued on to the specified shop, where an old, balding man lay lazily on a couch, hardly even acknowledging the customers. "Uh... hello? I need a sword. Something to defend myself with." Ester peeked over the counter, looking at the assortment of blades and handles that were on show. The old man scoffed, "You? I don't give out toys to little girls like yourself. Now shoo! Can't you see I'm busy?" Ester's eyes narrowed, and she slammed her hands onto the wooden counter, making the man jump. "Look! I'm not joking here. I need a weapon. I have the rupees, so show me something I'd be willing to spend them on!"
With speed that Ester had to give the old man credit for, in his seemingly old age, he took one of the sheathed swords off the wall and placed it on the counter. "Here. Full iron casting, iron handle. Well balanced and well made. For just 200 rupees" Ester grinned, looking at the metal gleaming in the lamp light, "Perfect. Here's your money."

Chance smiled. "Now hold up!" Pulling out eight silver rupees (worth a total of eight hundred) he smirked. "What can we each get for this much."
The blacksmith looked like he was going to fall over from fainting. "A-a-a-are you sure sir? My two best swords are yours for that much!" he exclaimed removing the iron sword from the table and handing them each a gold hilted sword with intricate design, and a sturdy blade that shone like it had just come off the fire. Chance smiled approvingly at the swords and said as though thinking it over "We may need shields as well... what do you have?"
This surprised the blacksmith even more. "You couldn't possibly also afford-" but he was cut short when Chance produced four more Silver Rupees. He hurriedly took the money and got two shields out for his new best customers, muttering "If ma' could see me now!" as he did so.
They were very ornamental shields, yet very sturdy at the same time, seeming to be able to withstand even a Goron's might.
"Come back anytime you need those swords sharpened, ya hear?" The man smiled as they left. Chance smiled and waved as they left.
When they got a little ways away from the shop, he noticed how Ester was in awe. "Impressed?" he asked her, strapping his sword to his back, then helping her with hers.

Ester watched all that transpire with an amazed face. Since when did he have so much money?? "That....was impressive" she admitted, taking the sword and putting it on her belt, then helping Chance strap the shield to her back. The sword was much handier when it was within reach, and being at her side was the norm for her now. "Though I'm not sure how shiny gold hilts and pretty sheilds are supposed to keep us from being plowed into by Gorons and eaten by Skulltulas, very nice. I didn't think you had any money." She said as matter of factly as she could, continuing on to the black market shown on the map.

Chance laughed nervously "With me, money isn't really an issue. I am... rather wealthy..." He looked around, trying to hide his face, as his cheeks were betraying his embarrassment. "I don't talk about it because people look down on rich men who can't tell them where they got it. Always saying I steal to get this many Rupees! I was born into a rich family... shouldn't that be enough for them?" He paused, apparently deep in thought. Looking over at Ester, he noticed he was calmed from his anger by her. almost as if the world around him melted away as he focused on h-
~Wait a minute! Ester is Link's Daughter! I can't just act like she would accept me!~
Chance took a deep breath. "E-ester... do I scare you at all? Twili aren't exactly known for being... I mean we have forbidden magic in our veins and... Look just... aren't you afraid of my people???" he asked, barely able to get the jumble of words out.

Ester gave a little nod, though she peered over at him curiously. What was he blushing about? She watched him, cocking her head a little. "Well, you don't act like one of those snooty rich people, which is always a plus." As they kept walking, Ester was getting more confused about how he was acting.
She stopped, giving him a calm look. "Chance... I never really knew who or what the Twili are until I went on this journey with you. So far, the only bad thing you're guilty of is showing yourself off in front of my dad" She gave a little smirk, though her cheeks grew a bit pink. "No, you don't scare me. Really, the only thing I have to worry about right now is what will happen when I put on my Goron mask in Goron territory. And I'm pretty sure you'll at least try to block their view." She gave a little, slightly nervous giggle at that, then patted his shoulder gently. "I'm not too concerned with you going back on me. I said I was gonna help get your memory back, and I will. I promise"

When Ester mentioned showing off in front of her dad, Chance blushed. "That was a mistake and you know it. Besides, he did hit me for it." He listened to the rest of her answer in silence. When she finished speaking, he stopped in his tracks.
"You are ok with this then?" he asked her, pulling her into a hug. he didn't know why he decided to do that, and frankly, right now he didn't care. She was being nice to him when no one else had shown anything more than disgust or at best, they left him alone altogether. Letting go of her, he mumbled "Sorry. Not many people like me. I'm glad I lost my memory now, or I wouldn't have met you." He smirked. "And besides, someone's got to keep you away from prying eyes." he motioned towards a Goron who had noticed them.
As they neared the black market, Chance opened the door for Ester. ~Shouldn't they have tighter security at a black market?~ he thought as he shut the door behind them. His answer came sooner than expected.
"Who let two puny little meatsacks in here?" a burly Goron shouted. Chance shrugged, and they were both picked up and thrown out the door. "Looks like that Goron mask will be handy after all! Don't worry, I got you covered." he said, not realizing the double implications. putting his hands out, he formed a dark black box-like barrier that was large enough to hide a Goron and himself.
"I wouldn't advise touching the walls of this. The results would be... unwanted, but it's the best I've got to shield you from view." he said as he kept the black cube up.

Ester let her arms dangle as she was suddenly pulled into a hug. She blushed sheepishly, uncertain of what to do or say in response. She gave him a sympathetic look. "Well, if it's any consolation, I like you too." The Terminian smiled, continuing on close to him.
Once they were inside, Ester looked around at all the odd looking weapons and vials of unknown substances, likely poison. The first thing that popped into her head was how her father knew about this place. He wasn't a criminal; far from! So how could he have known about this place, and even have a friend on the other side?? Before she could react, she felt thick arms grab her and she stumbled out the door, landing hard on her buttocks. "Oww..." she mumbled, rubbing it irritatedly.
"Alright, so walking right in isn't going to work... as much as I don't want to use it, it probably will be worth using..." She gave a minute pout, not wanting him to see her so lewdly dressed as she had been before. But what choice did she have. Getting up, she put it on, soon becoming the scantily-clad female Goron once again. Her cheeks flushed, she rustled through her things, quickly pulling on the shirt and letting out a sigh. "Alright Chance, let's go."
