Starr woke with a start as Shin jostled her shoulder roughly. Memories from her previous enslavement by Micardrin were foremost in her mind and she reacted swiftly. For a moment she forgot where she was and immediately moved off the bed and into the subservient position that she’d been taught while uttering a dark elven phrase that Micardrin had savagely drilled into her.
“Get up and go bathe, now!” Shin rasped hoarsely. Her actions puzzled him, but he didn’t dare stop and question her on them. And while he was aware that she’d spoken, he hadn’t been able to make out the words because she’d spoken them too quickly.
As she fled the room, he uttered a swift spell. The room became flooded with light as the various candles sparked into life. Standing, he ripped the linens from the bed and tossed them out into the central room. That done, he began looking for the cursed herb, intent on destroying it.
Starr meanwhile stepped into the now frigid water of the bathing basin, her mind clouded by sleep and fear. Hissing at the cold water, she dunked her head underneath the surface briefly before beginning the task of scrubbing. As she did so, she gradually remembered that she was no longer held captive by Micardrin, and that it must’ve been Shin who’d awoken her. She frowned in thought as a violent shiver coursed through her.
She was relatively safe with Shin. She knew that much for certain, and slowly began practicing the methods that the healer had taught her to bring her fear level down to a more manageable level. Her eyes stared at the water in front of her, focusing on the purple petals of lavender. Breathing steadily, in and out, she reached blindly for the rune carved into the basin. As soon as her fingers grazed it, the water rapidly began heating as magic coursed through the sides. Reaching out to a small table, she grabbed a large handful of dried lavender and tossed it carelessly into the water and watched the steam rise in slow undulating wisps.
Shin groaned in frustration as he searched through the chambers. He really should’ve taken that human woman up on her offer while he and Nathavin had been in Gludio. Then the scent of that wretched plant wouldn’t have been quite so…pronounced. He was almost tempted to go in search of any willing female he could run across to sort out his problem. Almost.
Unable to locate the herb, he returned to the bedchambers only to find that the scent was even more pronounced now. The sound of water sloshing caused him to look towards the adjoining bathing chambers and he cursed under his breath as he grasped the doorframe with an iron grip. Everything became crystal clear.
She’d smelled like it earlier because she’d bathed in it. He hadn’t noticed it because the cover had been obscuring the scent until she’d removed it. He hadn’t scented it from the bathing chambers earlier either because the water had been too cold.
Stepping out of the tub, Starr dried off quickly and stepped back into her gown and removed her hair from the twisted knot that she’d put it in to remain dry, allowing the blonde strands to cascade down her back. Biting her lower lip, she nervously stepped back into the bedchambers.
“Throw them away!” Shin snapped. “The flowers that you’re bathing in, throw them away!” Shilen, she smelled so strongly now! So focused on trying to get his point across, he didn’t notice that she’d gone quite pale, even for a light elf, before blushing bright red.
As soon as she’d stepped out of the bathing chambers, she’d noticed that he was as bare as the day he was born. And their dark goddess had clearly blessed him. Face flaming, she averted her gaze swiftly, casting her eyes to the floor.
When she didn’t acknowledge him, either by words or action, he swore in dark elvish. “Starr!” He commanded firmly in an effort get her attention.
Her gaze snapped to his.
“Throw. It. Away.” He stated with quiet emphasis.
Her brow furrowed in confusion. “Throw what away?” The brutal training from Micardrin reared it’s ugly head, demanding that she not ask questions, but she valiantly shoved it aside. Shin wasn’t Micardrin, in far more ways than one. It was taking considerable effort to keep her eyes from wondering where they shouldn’t. The glance she’d gotten suggested that her former captor wasn’t as endowed…
“The rabenda!” He elaborated. “Throw it away!” At her still questioning gaze, he clarified. “The purple flowers! Get rid of them! And go take another bath, get that smell off of you!” If she continued to smell like that he’d never get any sleep. And she might not either. As it was, he was likely going to have to go take of this problem himself. But it wouldn’t make a difference if she didn’t lose the scent.
“It helps me to relax.” She protested softly.
Shin’s head rolled back and he gazed at the stone ceiling in frustration. Of course. The one thing that helped her to relax was the one thing that drove him insane with lust. Just fucking perfect.
NO! Not fucking perfect! He snarled lowly to himself…
As he continued to stare upwards, she took the opportunity to study him. Her mouth fell open unconsciously. She’d had exactly two lovers. One a light elf she’d briefly trained with in her younger days and a human. Neither had been this impressive. Apparently the rumors she’d often heard from human women were true… She swiftly snapped her gaze to the side as he dropped his gaze from the ceiling.
As his eyes refocused on her, he caught her swiftly looking away from him. Had she been staring at him? Her face was hidden by her hair, so he glanced at her long ears. The tips were uncharacteristically pink. He blinked in shock. She had been staring at him.
Well, at least he knew he impressed her.
For some reason, the knowledge that she was impressed by him was satisfying. Immensely satisfying, in fact. However, it didn’t resolve his current predicament.
She began speaking softly. “A healer, Valekinsia, gave me the herbs to help relax.”
He snorted lowly. “They do not help me. Get rid of them, now.” He hesitated. “Please.”
Starr ducked back inside the bathing chamber and grabbed the dried flowers. Glancing around, she placed the bundle in an empty candle saucer then grabbed a tapered candle and set the bundle ablaze before draining the great basin and opening the valves that allowed water to spill into it. She sighed heavily to herself. Three baths in a single night was a bit excessive…
Shin left to find a separate bathing chamber in the guest suite. He needed to relieve himself. Stepping into the nearly blistering hot water, he sunk down low. Closing his eyes, he gripped himself firmly and began stroking while envisioning her.
In the main bathing chambers, Starr leaned back with a sigh and swiped lazily at the bubbles. Since she no longer had the flowers to scent the water, she’d resorted to the scented oils and potions. The soft fragrance of cocos nucifera filled the air, reminding her of the ocean.
Her thoughts drifted back to the events from earlier. Why had he reacted the way he had? Why had she not been more afraid of him? As she focused on her memories of her time spent with Micardrin, she shuddered with fear, both remembered and new. But, she didn’t get the same gut-wrenching fear when she thought of Shin.
It was puzzling.
Putting it out of her mind, she closed her eyes and leaned her head back. Unbidden, her thoughts turned to Shin, standing in the doorway of the bedchambers without a stitch of clothing. If he’d been another light elf she would’ve approached him and pulled him to the bed with her before pushing him down and straddling him. Had he been human she would’ve gladly bent over the bed, allowing him to take her from behind…
But he wasn’t either one.
She scowled at the water. Why was she even thinking this? She resolved to put those thoughts out of her head.
But the thoughts wouldn’t leave her.
With a huff, she focused and imagined an encounter with a human male. A tall and strong hell knight. She trailed her right hand down between her legs and slid her middle finger into her own depths, somewhat surprised by how slick she already was. Her left hand gripped and pinched at her right tit as she slowly pumped her middle finger in and out of her pussy.
She frowned as the anonymous hell knight of her fantasy morphed into Shin. Shaking her head, she refocused on her imagined knight. Minutes passed and she was distressed to find herself unable to find her own pleasure as she had to constantly ‘adjust’ her fantasy to get rid of the intrusive thoughts of Shin.
With a faint hiss of irritation, she gave up on correcting her fantasy and allowed her mind to do as it wished. She came hard with a barely stifled groan. For a few moments afterward she lay still and silent before washing up with a washcloth. A glance at the nearby timepiece indicated that she’d spent more time in the bath than she’d anticipated, she’d taken almost two hours, and she huffed in exasperation.
Shin, who’d long finished his own bath, silently stepped back from the door and retreated to the bath chambers he’d vacated. Initially he’d been drawn to the door of her bathing chambers by the sound of labored breathing. Concerned that something had befallen her, he’d quietly opened the door to check on her. Once he saw the cause for her labored breathing, he became captivated and unable to look away.
The unexpected sight had been incredibly erotic. Once again, he’d found himself with a hard cock. This time, however, he hadn’t gone to the other room. No, he’d stayed and stroked himself while watching her, timing his movements to match hers. He’d cum when she had, and he was glad that he’d had the presence of mind to keep his bathing towel with him to spill into.
Making his way back to the spare bathing chambers to clean up, he wondered who she’d been thinking about. She’d clearly had some difficulty with whatever fantasy she’d been creating for herself though if her conflicting expressions were anything to go by.
When he returned, she was back under the covers and yawning. Saying nothing, he slid under the covers with her and they both fell asleep in record time.
