CHAPTER 16
Reginaldd sighed as he flipped the page of the legal brief he was going over. His mind was definitely not in it, not since he was now aware that Laeyla had left him. He hadn't thought their last blow up to be any direr than the many they'd been through in the past. Yet her absence seemed to loom above him like an unwieldy air ship. He was certain his political career would continue without her. But they were such an excellent team for a reason, and certainly some of his ambitions would suffer as a result. Reginaldd suddenly slammed the brief shut and rubbed his eyelids closed with the tips of his fingers. He knew sleep would be difficult this night but when the light suddenly went out, his eyes flew open in alarm. The room had gone instantly pitch dark for the curtains had been drawn allowing for not even a sliver of moonlight. He knew almost instantly when he was no longer alone in the room."Who's there?!" Reginaldd managed to keep the alarm out of his voice. "This home is protected by several armed guards, you won't get far if malice is your intent." Even as the words left his mouth he realized that his security had already failed him. How could an intruder have made it to his personal bed chambers? It would only be possible if the secret passageways had been accessed and very few knew about them. He almost jumped several feet when he felt a slight breeze as something moved by him. Whoever it was seemed intent on toying with him.
Reginaldd got to his feet when he realized his options were limited. He normally did not practice sorcery within the house because the power could rage out of control quite easily depending on the spell. But all he needed was a little illumination so he could make his way out of the room and away from the intruder. Therefore he summoned a tiny ball of light that managed to chase away the darkness but still left the room cast in various shadows. A gasp escaped his lips as he made out the form of a male Castanic standing in the far corner of the room. From what he could see, the man was almost naked given the small swatches of light that revealed bare, tanned muscular limbs. Before he could begin tossing threats at the intruder, the man spoke and Reginaldd went completely still.
"Hello, Reggie."
Reginaldd's throat suddenly went dry and his light flickered as he began to question his sanity. The man standing in the shadows was very reminiscent of Winstone Magelus. One very telling fact was the pet name he'd referred to him by, that Winstone alone had used only when they were in private.
"It's ironic to meet again in this very room, where we shared such intimacies."
Reginaldd licked his dry lips as his mouth opened and closed several times before he finally got any words out. "Am I going insane?"
"If you think me a mirage, then come -- touch me."
The ball of light fell to the floor as Reginaldd was unable to keep it suspended by his wavering power. His emotions were going a millions miles per hour, and although his common sense argued the wisdom of complying with the apparition, Reginaldd found his feet moving forward as if of their own accord. He'd though of all the horrible things he would say or do if he ever saw Winstone again. He'd had a very long time to compile a vile list before and after the General had died. Yet here he was, just longing to be held in this man's strong embrace once more.
"You ... you can't be real." Although Reginaldd was standing less than a foot away from the Castanic he still could not make out his face. But he had his memories of a man too handsome for words with luscious lips that he could kiss forever and a day.
"Reggie -- my sweet Reggie."
Reginaldd stood still as the man closed the distance between them and suddenly he found himself encased in the warmth of familiar and welcoming arms. He struggled against simply melting into the embrace of this man who had hurt him so much but it was difficult, because he'd missed him so much. "I know you're not real, and I know I shouldn't even want this after what you've done. But please..." Reginaldd threw his arms around the taller man's neck bringing his face closer. "Take me!" He crushed his lips against his and felt a hesitant response. No, he didn't want this dream or whatever it was to be over yet!
Luceus was taken aback by Reginaldd's response, he'd expected more resistance from him, but hadn't counted on the older man melting like butter in his hands. However, making out with Tristtan's father was not part of the plan. But his next actions did nothing to alleviate the situation.
Reginaldd almost squealed in delight when he felt himself being lifted in Winstone's strong arms before he was deposited upon the bed. His former lover now towered above him, and Reginaldd was aware that he wore nothing but a pair of tiny briefs. He slipped his hands beneath those briefs to squeeze firm mounds of flesh. During his affairs with Penole he had taken the dominant position, but Reginaldd now found himself longing to be ploughed by Winstone's big dick just like he remembered. With a dry ass that hadn't been used in that manner for some time, Reginaldd had no doubt it would hurt, but it didn't stop him from beginning to hurriedly strip off his clothing.
Luceus realized he'd have to move the plan along and quickly, for not only would he have some explaining to do to Tristtan later, but Laeyla Stanhope was currently watching everything as it occurred from her hiding place. He quickly stilled the older man's movements by pressing his body atop him, his mouth lay close to Reginaldd's ear as he spoke.
"I'm sorry I let you go, Reggie. But I didn't want to ruin the relationship you had with your wife when you were on the verge of starting a family. I've regretted it ever since, and now I ask for you forgiveness." Luceus imagined that if his father had indeed lived, such a reunion may have occurred between them. This farce was only a shadow of what that moment would have truly been.
"Your betrayal took so much from me," Reginaldd began softly. "And I've been miserable ever since. But I just want things to go back to the way they were ... I still love you, Winstone."
"And therein lies the cause of all this malice."
Reginaldd stiffened beneath the man atop him when he heard Laeyla's voice. Within seconds the lights were on in the room once more and his wife was standing at the bed gazing calmly at him. He felt frustration sadness and anger all at the same time, when he realized the man lying atop him was no other than Winstone's son. The one he'd mistreated in the worst way because of his still broken and raw heart. "What is the meaning of this?!" He tried to take hold of the anger that had sustained him for all these years, but what Luceus had just done to him had left him slightly unmanned.
"I think you should have some idea." Laeyla watched as Luceus left the bed allowing Reginaldd to sit up. Her husband was minus his shirt and his normally well cropped hair was slightly disheveled. He looked like a man who'd been expecting to be well and truly fucked only a few seconds ago. Even his usually harsh features were softened as a result. "The Magelus brothers found Winstone's journal, and in it revealed the truth -- that he only left you because of me and Tristtan. He did love you Reginaldd. Therefore, all the animosity and hate you've directed towards his offspring would have tainted his memory of you. Luceus could have died. And on top of your unhappy ending, we'd have had Tristtan's to contend with as well."
"So, you planned this whole thing. Just what do you think is going to happen now, that I'm going to admit all wrong doing?!" Reginaldd couldn't help it as he raised his voice.
"Wake up and smell the roses!" Laeyla yelled back. "If you don't stop your persecution of Luceus, then Tristtan will end up like you! A bitter middle-aged man forever tormented by what you lost! And if you don't care about your own son's future, then think of Winstone's memory."
Reginaldd felt a sting of tears at his eyes and couldn't believe that their little tag team had hit home in more ways than one. "So, you want me to sacrifice my future, for his and Tristtan's?"
"Your future has been over for quite a while. And now it's time for you to be the bigger man and not let yours and Winstone's son pay the price for it." Laeyla could see that he was hurting and struggling to come to grips with what he wanted to do. She'd witnessed how much he'd wanted Luceus to be Winstone, so that he could be held by his lover one more time. His love which had once turned to hate, apparently only required a little trick to flip it back to the other side.
Reginaldd had trouble looking at Luceus as he stood silent beside Laeyla. He wanted so much to see the Winstone he knew standing there. And it did surprise him that the hate created by distance and death could so easily be overturned in such a brief moment. "Do you have nothing to say for yourself?"
"I didn't do this solely to save myself," Luceus began. "I had no idea what my father had shared with you. And honestly, I'm sorry you two never got a chance to truly be together. I still don't really know you, but what I do know is that my father would never have loved someone that wasn't deserving of it." Luceus was stunned when he saw a single tear slowly escape Reginaldd's right eye before he was burying his head in the mattress as his shoulders shook with the force of his sobs.
Laeyla turned to Luceus and realized they should not be privy to such a vulnerable moment. "It's time to go." She saw the hesitation in his eyes instantly, they still had not gotten the confession they'd come for. But it had been worth a shot, and regardless of the outcome now, at least Reginaldd would have some closure. In many ways he was still a victim in spite of all he had done. They left through the secret passage with Luceus stopping long enough to retrieve his clothing. Laeyla wondered how long it would be before Reginaldd even realized they were gone.
OOOLuceus had barely knocked on Tristtan's door before the boy answered it wearing not a stitch. His gaze took in slender creamy limbs appreciatively before he quipped. "Do you normally answer the door like this?"
"Not always..." There was a look of blatant lust in Tristtan's teal orbs. In truth he had been expecting Luceus. He quickly grabbed his lover by the arm and yanked him inside vaguely aware as the general kicked the door closed behind him. They were instantly in each other's arms as Luceus lips slanted against his tasting all he had to offer. Tristtan twirled his legs around Luceus' waist allowing him to choose where their coupling would take place. As it turns out, the recliner was the closest bet.
Luceus sat down with Tristtan atop him, their lips still doing battle as he quickly opened his pants freeing his hungry cock that glistened at the tip. "Are you ready for me?" He asked between kisses. Luceus would have stopped if need be to find some lubrication to ease penetration. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt Tristtan.
"I've been ready," Tristtan quickly replied before reaching underneath himself to guide Luceus throbbing cock to his moist, well-oiled hole. A soft grunt muffled with a moan escaped him as his general fully penetrated him. They remained still for several seconds with Luceus seated within him to the hilt. When a moist mouth latched on to his right nipple, Tristtan found himself leaning forward to give the General easier access. The Castanic's hands were not idle as they grabbed and squeezed the firm mounds of his buttocks that were currently spread wide by Luceus' giant cock.
"By the gods, I've missed you so." Those words had barely escaped Tristtan's lips when he felt Luceus begin to pump his hips beneath him. The General's cock slid in and out of him with relative ease, but did nothing to lessen the pleasurable friction or intensity of the rigid penis snaking through him.
Luceus pinched both of Tristtan's nipples between his fingers rhythmically while staring at the look of euphoria on the boy's face. "Did you miss me, or just my cock?" Luceus thrusts became much more forceful and he was appreciative when Tristtan began to grind his ass upon him.
There was a wanton look on Tristtan's face as he licked his lips. "What do you think?"
"I think it's a good thing my cock hasn't been fashioned as a sex toy for sale, as it would make me less important." There was a lazy grin on Luceus' face as he awaited Tristtan's response.
"If your cock were on the market, I would definitely buy it, but it doesn't mean I'd ever give up the real thing." Tristtan began to stroke his own stiff cock against the soft material of the black shirt Luceus wore. It didn't bother him to be completely naked while Luceus was still fully dressed. He knew that as the night progressed, his wonderful lover would join him in this state of undress.
"Really, so tell me -- just what else would be on your shopping list?" Luceus eyes glanced back and forth from the tight pebbled nubs of the nipples between his fingers to the glaze of lust with Tristtan's gaze.
"Just one more thing," Tristtan continued to grind his ass against the cock within him. "You making me come so hard that I scream."
"Done." Luceus quickly flipped their position before putting the chair into a recline. He did so without separating their bodies and was almost instantly pumping into the youth now located beneath him. He held Tristtan's legs apart with a firm grip on both his ankles as his gaze witnessed his cock vanish and re-emerge over and over again as his thrusts became quick jabs of blinding pleasure. When Tristtan placed two fingers in his mouth and closed his eyes while sucking the digits sweetly, Luceus thought he would lose his composure. He quickly angled his body to make certain that with each jab he hit Tristtan's prostrate. That did the trick.
A low moan escaped Tristtan's lips that quickly built into a crescendo culminating with his pinked cock spurting his pearly essence all over his pale chest. He didn't have to wait long before he felt Luceus pull out of him and soon, the General's warm semen joined the cooling mess upon his chest and stomach. Eventually the heaving of his chest subsided as he got his breathing under control. However, a giggle escaped him when he felt Luceus' warm tongue scooping up the creamy goodness of their own creation. The General's tongue continued to tickle him as he cleaned Tristtan's body of their leavings.
With the taste of both of them still on his lips, Luceus lifted Tristtan's body before laying out on the recliner then settling the boy's smaller frame atop him. "Were you satisfied with your order?" His fingers stroked through the dampened golden tresses of his lover's beautiful mane of hair.
"Yes, but..." Tristtan turned over to face Luceus with a wide grin on his face. "I'd like to double it."
Luceus found Tristtan's grin contagious, "Done and done."
"So, how did your mission go?" Tristtan snuggled in the crook of Luceus' arm still feeling completely sated in aftermath of their lovemaking. He'd decided he wouldn't tell Luceus about the little tiff he'd had with Saeylas. As far as order of importance, Luceus getting his life back took precedence over whether or not Tristtan got along with the boy that saved him.
"I do apologize for not getting into the details of the mission before given the stress caused by your reaction to Saeylas upon my return -- I hope you won't hold that against me," Luceus admitted.
Tristtan pressed his lips together briefly as he searched for the right words to say. Their reunion had seen him on the verge of committing suicide. He didn't want Luceus to feel the need to tiptoe around him for fear of setting his crazy off. "Luceus, I know I have a long road ahead of me before I can be the man I once was. Before Ulrikk I may have sometimes been unsure of myself, but never suicidal. The therapy sessions my mother forced me to endure didn't work because I didn't want them to work. But now -- now I will make them work because of it's importance to our future together. I don't want you to be stuck with a broken man."
Luceus took Tristtan's hand and placed it against his heart, allowing him to feel the steady beating there. "We're both broken. But as long as our hearts remain whole, we can see this through."
Tristtan nodded briskly, realizing that the tortures they'd both been put through only recently would have been enough to destroy any relationship. "Please tell me you succeeded against my father."
"Not exactly, the plan was to get a confession from him, and that didn't happen." Luceus had been surprised the plan had worked as well as it did, even with him mimicking Winstone's voice. It was possible that Reginaldd had been so desperate to believe that Winstone was still alive that he didn't notice the little telltale signs that would have indicated sooner that Luceus was not him. However, the aftermath of their outcome still stuck with him. "But, he did shed what I would consider real tears."
Tristtan's palm fell away from Luceus chest as he stared at his lover in disbelief. "My father -- cried?" He didn't think he could believe it, not when Reginaldd always looked down on Tristtan whenever he'd shed a tear.
Luceus nodded. "In the morning, Judge Phaeos will be notified of my return and I will have to travel to Velika. I would be honored if you'd accompany me."
"As if I would be anywhere else." Desire re-entered Tristtan's eyes as he allowed Luceus to claim his lips in another soul bruising kiss.
"It is possible I may never regain my rank as General. But I don't wish that to stop you from pursing a career in the Federation if that truly is your wish."
"I go where you go, that's all that matters to me now." Tristtan shifted his naked body atop Luceus, not hiding the fact that he was once again aroused. "I hope you're not too tired." Despite the sexual abuse Tristtan had suffered at the hands of Ulrikk's men, it had not dampened his libido in anyway when it came to being intimate with Luceus. And plus, they had a lot of making up for lost time to do.
"I'd never be too tired for you." Luceus opted to make love to Tristtan once more on the recliner before they retreated to the bed for several more rounds of lovemaking. It was well into the wee hours of the morning before sleep finally claimed them.
OOO
Saeylas had to admit he was not interested in the healing pamphlets Rosalinda was currently showcasing for him within the library in which they stood. He'd managed to heal the bruise inflicted by Tristtan's punch so that none who hadn't witnessed the altercation would be the wiser. After he'd been informed that Luceus and Tristtan had not risen yet, he hadn't been able to concentrate on anything after that. The thought of Luceus and that hated blond elf together caused signs of definite distress within him.
"So, Healing Immersion is a skill that is very useful for multiple injured parties." Rosalinda had barely finished her sentence before Saeylas was interrupting her.
"Do you know when General Magelus will be having breakfast?"
Rosalinda hid her sigh before responding truthfully. "I imagine soon, they are scheduled to depart for Velika later today."
"He's leaving?! I must go with him." Extreme distress suddenly entered Saeylas' bright gaze.
"We were making plans for you to begin attending a college here in Allemantheia."
"I go where Luceus goes." Saeylas realized perhaps a bit late that he was being too forceful. "If he hadn't come into my life, the gods only know what would have become of me. I must continue to show my gratitude."
"I don't think he'll ever forget that you saved his life, but that doesn't mean that your paths are tied from this point onward. The sooner you realize that the better." Rosalinda didn't want to be mean, but she'd seen many lives destroyed or very near so in the name of misplaced love. She didn't want to see Saeylas fall into the same trap. She'd read part of Luceus report and knew that Saeylas had been abused for most of his life. What the boy needed now was someone to call his own, not this fixation over a man that was already taken.
"I -- I need to talk to him. Sorry." Saeylas lowered his gaze before leaving the healer standing alone holding the pamphlets. He would take no advice from anyone where Luceus was concerned. All he cared about was being with the man himself.
OOO
Saeylas couldn't believe his luck when he entered the cafeteria and found Luceus sitting alone. His heart skipped a beat to see him looking so strong and healthy. For too long all he'd known was the half crippled Luceus riddled with injuries and scars, but now he was bearing witness to what was considered the norm. It was in the back of his mind that the General was planning to leave the city today and had yet to even inform him. Saeylas refused to believe that he'd suddenly become so inconsequential to Luceus. He was still important to him as the one who'd helped to give him his life back. He quickly made his way towards the General's table and the smile he'd plastered on his face was not too difficult to come by. What could he say, he simply adored being in this man's presence.
"General."
Luceus was slightly surprised to find Saeylas standing at his table. He'd expected to have a quiet breakfast with Tristtan before they met in Lektus' conference room and departed for Velika. He would have certainly found Saeylas to say goodbye before his departure.
"May I join you?" Saeylas hoped there was no pleading look on his face.
"Of course." Luceus hoped Saeylas did not notice his hesitation. Tristtan had gone to the restroom and would return at any minute and he'd wanted to spare Tristtan a repeat of the misunderstanding upon his return. He supposed now was a good time as any to get everything out in the open.
Saeylas took the chair opposite him and tried not to appear nervous now that he had the General's full attention. "I'd heard you were engaged with a serious matter yesterday, I would have liked to have seen you sooner."
"Yes, it was urgent and required my full attention," Luceus paused before continuing. "It's good that you've come, I'll be traveling to Velika today."
Saeylas smiled broadly, "What time do we leave?"
Luceus tapped his fingers lightly against the white table cloth as he regarded Saeylas intently. "I did not intend to take you with me. I figured you had many decisions to make in terms of the direction of your schooling and Rosalinda has volunteered to guide you."
Saeylas lowered his gaze as his eyes focused on a halved loaf of bread. "Have I upset you in some way?"
Luceus shook his head with slight confusion. "Why would you think that?"
"Because it seems like you've forgotten." Saeylas tore at the soft piece of the bread and rolled it into a little ball. "Have a Snowball." He brought the food to Luceus' lips and was grateful when they opened allowing him to pop the bread inside.
Luceus chewed slowly remembering when Saeylas had fed him because he'd been unable to do so himself. It was at that moment that Tristtan chose to return. There was no accusatory look in his lover's eyes but he could also tell that Tristtan wasn't happy to see Saeylas sitting in his chair.
"I don't believe you two have formally met. Saeylas, this is my future mate -- Tristtan Stanhope."
"We've met," Tristtan replied dryly, not taking his gaze away from the young elf.
"Oh yes, we have." Saeylas touched a hand to the now healed skin where Tristtan punched him.
"When was this?" Luceus was confused that Tristtan had not even mentioned having met Saeylas.
"It doesn't matter." Tristtan's gaze left Saeylas' dismissively. "Listen, we'll have to get going soon."
"I'd like to accompany you, please don't toss me aside. Not after what we've shared." The pleading had now entered his voice but Saeylas didn't care. He couldn't let Tristtan win, the blond elf was all wrong for Luceus.
"I'm not quite certain what you think we've shared." Luceus came to his feet, well aware that Tristtan was downright staring at him.
Saeylas stood slowly, his eyes not leaving the male Castanic before him. "I know you've felt it. The times when we were together -- we connected."
Tristtan felt his jealousy beginning to rage out of his control and was about to lay into Saeylas, but apparently Luceus had the matter well in hand.
"The connection you may have felt unfortunately was that of a man who had no memory of himself. I'm sorry if I may have misled you Saeylas -- but there is only one man for me." Luceus reached for Tristtan to guide him towards the direction of the exit. "I will never forget what you've done for me, and as I said you need never worry about financials again. But our relationship will never move past one of friendship. I will stay in contact but for now I must leave."
Saeylas stood there after they'd left for how long he wasn't sure. He was grateful there hadn't been too many in the cafeteria to witness his shame. When he finally managed to leave the area he found himself heading towards the offices on the upper levels of the buildings. He knew Luceus was still in the building and as long as he was in reach then perhaps Saeylas would be given the opportunity to change his mind. As lost as he was in his thoughts it was not surprising when he turned a corner in the hall and collided with the solid frame of a human male. Papers went flying everywhere as Saeylas took a step back realizing that he'd run into Sarrion.
"Mr. Desmais. I'm so sorry." He knelt and began to help the taller man retrieve the strewn papers.
"Oh it's no trouble, I'm just late for the meeting. I was late to finish packing because I had to find Brie, but apparently she won't be coming with us," Sarrion stated idly as he helped make short work of the mess of papers on the marble hall.
"You're going to Velika?" Saeylas surmised as they both stood -- the stack of papers now stacked neatly in Sarrion's hands.
"Yes, I'm Luceus' legal advisor so it's necessary I be present for his hearing," Sarrion explained.
Saeylas suddenly saw his ticket to Velika starting him in the face. "Mr. Desmais..."
"Please -- call me Sarrion," He replied with a smile.
"Sarrion." Saeylas had been with enough men to know when one was attracted to him. He would use this to his benefit, for he had no intention of giving up on Luceus' just yet. "I was wondering if you could do me a very big favor..."
