Disclaimer: Jealousy, violence, hurt/comfort, love, war... Everything, starts during the Threesome quest, but definitely doesn't end there! Also, any character that I did not create for this story DOES NOT belong to me, they belong to CDPR. |
Finally! Right? Took a day or two to write a short story on Percy Jackson... Nothing big, just something to spice things up for me. Also got baited into starting to play The Witcher 1... 14 year old game, and it's good! All three of the Witcher games are fantastic for their era's. Tests at school, then serious conflict of interest about how to write this chapter...
SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT!
Also got me thinking, about how to pick this plot back up, more boat scenes? Well, as a wise shagging sorceress once said: "I'm sick to death of boats." Yeah... I agree wholeheartedly, Fringilla.
Anyway...
I was online searching for Witcher maps... and I realized that the Witcher 3 map is WILDLY inaccurate. I was thinking and hoping that Dol Blathanna was near Kovir... Ha! NOPE! Worlds away! Damn. Just search up the Witcher 3 and witcher maps and see for yourself how inaccurate the former is.
So I think it's time to be in Kovir already, Eh? Well here we go! This chapter is going to have LOTS of details (of all kinds) so you have been warned...
Also, this is unfortunately not going to be a Francesca chapter like I debated about making it, but don't worry, she will get her screen time... Just gonna have to wait a bit. Also, no one left reviews and even less left guesses at the foreshadow from last chapter, so I suppose you'll have to just wait and see what comes into fruition:)
Chapter 16- Triss's high, and her audience.
THIRD Pov... Duh. (I need to fix all those chapters that say 2nd... Yikes.) Time skip: A few days later.
Triss, Geralt and Rita had a smooth voyage after all. No storms, no problems, no more nails... yikes. Triss had sent a letter to Tancred letting him know that she was on her way to Kovir, and that she was bringing some 'friends,' with her too. Geralt didn't really like the idea of being called just a 'friend,' but he understood that Tancred didn't need to know about him yet, and leaving him anonymous and not mentioning she was bringing her lover, was a good political strategy or whatever she called it...
They had gotten off the boat in the port of Pont Vanis this morning, they walked through the town, trying to look normal... They probably looked like sea people, fresh off the boat. (Ha! We're fresh off da boat!) So they hoped that they didn't attract attention, yet...They must have avoided any because (not many) people noticed them, they wanted to make a surprise entrance at the palace... Not have some guard or someone notice a girl with red hair (Read: Triss) and ring the bell like a fucking idiot that Triss Merigold had arrived.
Thankfully that didn't happen, as far as they knew at least... Now they were right outside the door to their new home while Triss looked for the key like a stereotypical home owner.
"Real great mage advisor she's gonna make... Can't even find the key." Geralt thought while he crossed his arms and looked around Triss's/their estate. It wasn't actually an estate, it was just a large house on a hillside, overlooking the entire city, you could see the Thyssen palace better from here, than you could see the palace of Toussaint from the Toussaint road. (You know when the BLOOD AND WINE EXPANSION PACK text appears on the screen?)
There was a barn to the right of the house, a decent ways away, leaving a good sized space in front of the house for practicing and playing outside. There was of course a stable connected to the barn, no horses in it, yet...
On the side of the house, off to the left a ways was a cellar door, the wine cellar most likely.
The house was impressive, it looked like the home of a Sorceress, custom made for the mage advisor of Kovir. Geralt, knowing Triss and having seen her luxurious house on the main square of the Temerian capital Square, knew that she preferred the finer things in life, and she certainly got it here... Though he knew that she couldn't care less about where she lived, only that he was there with her.
"Here it is!" Triss exclaimed, triumphantly pulling out a metal object from the bottomless depths of one or her bags.
"Geralt, do you ever get used to this?" Rita asked him.
"Sorry Rita, but I live off the "never answer questions that could be offensive to my girlfriend," life style." He replied nonchalantly, and without hesitation.
"Well I can see she has you wrapped around her finger about as tightly as Ye-"
"Rita, just go suck on some chalk or something." Triss said bluntly, cutting her off and opening the door.
"Pfft..." Rita said, crossing her arms and huffing in defeat.
Geralt laughed, picking up their stuff and walking inside.
When they got inside they were impressed at how cozy and spacious it was, the three of them could have easily lived there comfortably.
A warm kitchen lined the far wall, a dining room just to the right of that, to the left of the room there was a fireplace and two comfy couches.
(Other than that I won't force my view of their home onto you, notice I didn't describe any colors or anything.)
Then on the end was one large dark wood door with intricate blue vines carved on it, their master bedroom.
They took this all in, breathing in the new home scent, well of them except Triss that is... She was day dreaming.
Well this was her dream... Everything was perfect for her now, this is the life she yearned for. She would have ended up here almost no matter what, but that's not what mattered to her. What mattered was that she was here with Geralt, together, she had wanted this for so long... Dreamed about it, craved it, fantasized and wished for it more than anything. Worked and tried so hard, sacrificed so many pieces of herself along the way, and now every single bit was worth it, more than worth it! She could squeal and roll around on the floor like a child at how happy she felt, it was heaven to her.
"Triss," Geralt called to her, breaking her out of her day-dream, "Come here." He said, holding his arms out inviting.
She smiled wide and jump into his arms, latching her limbs around him and kissing him passionately.
They kissed and held each other for a few moments, oblivious of their audience, all that mattered was each other.
They pulled back for a moment and Geralt said: "We're finally here, Triss, together."
Triss smiled happily and she had tears of happiness in her eyes, she kissed him again, only wanting to feel his lips against hers in that moment.
"There are not words to convey how happy I am, Geralt. Thank you." She cried to him, burying her face in his neck.
"I reciprocated the feeling." He said to her, heartfelt, cradling her head into his neck and resting his chin on her. His other hand was on her ass holding her up to him, he was sure that she could have supported herself, but it's about love and trust, not so much about strength. Trust in him that if she falls, he will catch her, and the trust to let him hold her there.
"Ahem, sorry to butt in on your happy moment... But what now?" Rita interrupted.
Triss sighed audibly and she squeezed Geralt's arm, letting him know to let her down.
He set her down and she walked around a bit, taking everything in, then she said: "Well, we should get ready for the audience with the King, and me and Geralt need to go shopping..." Geralt groaned, and she smirked. "We need to get some paintings, gods it's as barren as I am in here!" She exclaimed and both Geralt and Rita raised eyebrows at that comment.
After some silence she said: "What? I've been cooped up on a boat for the past four days and I haven't had a glass of wine in over a week, and a few other things that Rita doesn't need to know about..." She said, sounding giddy.
"You sure you should see the king? Now? Like this?" Geralt asked her.
"Well... Which would make me look more professional? Going in now, like this? Or waiting till the morning after getting blind drunk and fucking all night, then waking up with a hangover?" She asked.
Geralt raised both his eyebrows now, then he nodded... "Well when you put it like, yeah, the first one." He conceded.
"Thought so... Rita?"
"After what happened that one time... I'd definitely agree with Geralt, although I don't know about-"
"Nor do you need to!" Triss interrupted.
"Maybe you should take a short nap?" Geralt said to her, trying NOT to sound pushy.
"That actually sounds like a great idea, but maybe we should get baths first? Rita?" Triss asked.
"I'd love to, but I don't want to intrude... You're doing so much for me as it is."
"Nonsense! You're basically family! Of course you're welcome, you can use the baths and stay in our guest room."
"Mhm," Geralt agreed.
"Yeah, it's not like you got anywhere else to stay... Besides, until you get asylum from Tancred you're basically a war criminal..." Triss finished, she got a little too much satisfaction out of saying that.
"Gee, thanks for reminding me..." she huffed, "But anyways, thank you very much Triss, I'd be very grateful if I could stay here until I get a place for myself."
"Then welcome to our home, come, I'll get you set in in the guest room, then we can all take a bath and get a nap..." She said.
"All?" Rita asked, a blush creeping up her cheeks.
"Yeah, all, but we'll split the room in half with magic, you know... for privacy, it'll save time." She explained
"Alright, that will work, smart..." She agreed.
"Great, me and Geralt will go in and draw the baths and put up the barrier, then we'll call for you."
"Mhm, I'll wait out here." She offered and Triss nodded.
Geralt just watched the two sorceresses exchange silently, not bothering to add any comments.
"Good, come on Geralt, let's draw the baths." She beckoned and they set off toward the bathroom, which they didn't find until the third door they opened...
Time skip: 5 minutes, two steaming baths, along with a magic barrier later.
Geralt and Triss stood on the right side of the ceiling height barrier that split the room in half, they had filled both baths and were ready to call Rita, the barrier was split at the door so that they could get out without deactivating the barrier. Thankfully there were already soap and shampoo in the bathroom for them,
"Ok Rita, you can come in now, it's ready, yours is on the left." Triss called.
They heard the door open and close signalling that Rita had entered and was getting ready to take her bath on the other side.
Geralt took off his shirt and peeled off his boots and pants, before he could pull off his boxers though, Triss dispelled all her clothes, leaving her bare with her back to him... The entire expanse of her bare back and perfect butt exposed to her lover, he was sure that she was teasing him on purpose. She reached up and undid her twin buns, allowing it to cascade across her shoulders. She threw her head, untangling any tangles that may have developed in her luscious, wavy auburn hair. The sight was extremely enticing, and he just couldn't resist his girl, especially not when she was standing there completely nude and looking gorgeous...
He walked up behind her and kissed her neck, reaching in front of her and palming her perfect breasts, rubbing his covered shaft against her ass.
She gasped at the surprise but quickly moaned, his mouth on her neck and his hands on her breasts combined with the feeling of his aroused member rubbing against her ass was doing wonders to turn her on and reduce her into a moaning mess. This is what happened every time he did this...
"Geeeerrraaaalt, ahhh... Gosh this is blissful, and you know how much I love your hands on me... But we have to clean ourselves and get a nap, we have things to do. We can have fun later, ahhhh, please let me go, Geralt." She told him, trying to recover her composure, but she was losing it quickly.
He stopped kneading her, bit her neck lightly then stopped and stepped back, sighing.
"AHHH! Really? You just HAD to bite me, too!? Now I have to make my first appearance in court with a love bite on my neck! You best pray that Tancred has a sense of humor and doesn't take me any less seriously because of this!" She yelled at him, genuinely upset, before she could fume anymore she turned away and climbed into the bath. Triss always preferred and chose to avoid conflict with him, if at all possible, she didn't like to fight with him, ever.
Geralt looked away in shame, he hadn't even thought of that... The last thing he wanted to do was making things harder for her in court, this was her dream, to have the same life she did in Temeria, with him at her side and to be the mage advisor... Grant it this was a lot better of a situation than they had in Temeria under Foltest, lots, but he could still at least try and not get in her way. In Temeria, Geralt had to act as Foltest's personal bodyguard and he hated it, following that fool as he waged stupid wars and fucked his sister... But he tolerated and did it because that he could be with Triss by proxy, and she made it more than worth it for him. Even with the fallout that ensued from Foltest being assassinated and Geralt getting blamed for it, it was still worth it, to have her. And it would be the same here in Kovir, she had been offered and accepted the position of Mage advisor at Tancred's court, so here they were... Hopefully he wouldn't have to protect any kings, but even if he did, it would be worth it to be with Triss. But she loved him far more than the court, and she wouldn't make him do that, but he also wouldn't want her to, or let her give it up.
To people on the outside, this life and relationship probably was considered unfair for Geralt. But he didn't see it that way, the sacrificed and pain she had gone through for him was unfair, and in the end she got the perfect life she wanted. Just being with her made anything more than worth it, but there was nothing for her to make worth it here, because he liked Kovir, and hopefully he would stay out of politics this time. Warm house, warm bed, and above all the warmth of his Triss, it was the perfect life if you ask him. He couldn't complain if he tried, truly.
Geralt took off his boxers and walked over to the tub, still feeling bad. Triss was standing in the tub, facing away from him and soaping her hair in the shampoo. When she heard him get in the tub with her she stopped, and you could noticeably see her tense up. He waded in the tub until he was right behind her, reaching up and resuming her massaging, rubbing the soap into her hair. His strokes soothing and apologetic, he hoped she would pick up on the message he was trying to convey.
She sighed in content, loving the feeling of his strokes in her hair.
"Triss, I-" He started but was cut off.
"Don't, I really don't want to have this meaningless bicker, It's fine... I'll just wear a scarf or something, or just not hide it all." She said to him, putting an end to that.
"Yes... don't hide it so that every man in that palace will know that you're mine." He growled into her ear, his voice sounding husky and possessive. The sound would have made any submissive woman's knees buckle.
She moaned in arousal hearing that, her knees wobbled and she shivered, even despite the burning fire inside her and the steaming bath.
"Yessssss, Geralt, I'm yours!" She exclaimed, her voice full of love and desire.
"Yes you are, now get down so I can rinse your hair." He commanded.
He commanded, and she obeyed.
Twenty minutes later Triss and Geralt were drying themselves off with a towel, taking great satisfaction in running the towel over each other, making sure to dry every inch of one anothers skin...
Washing, drying, dressing, undressing... if they could do it for the other, they did, that's how they were and that didn't even drop a bobber to how deep their bond and their love for each other ran.
When they were done drying each other off, Triss waved her hands and clothes appeared on them. Just a bra and pantie set for her, with a thin nightgown over top of it for modesty (Which she would of course shed when she got in the bedroom...)
Boxers, pants, and a shirt appeared on him, most of which would also come off when they got in the bedroom.
They nodded and opened the door to the hallway, stepping out.
Rita was standing against the well right outside, combing her hair.
"Well you two certainly took your time..." She said.
"Of course, it takes twice the time to watch two people." Geralt replied, nonchalantly. Smooth save...
"Oh... In that case forgive me, we taught magic at the school, not math." She stated.
Geralt chuckled, while Triss just looked at her incredulously like: "bullshit!"
"Anyways, Rita you can stay in the room on the right, it's got a dresser/ mirror and stand/ window... Everything you need, make yourself at home." Triss said to her.
"Mhm, thank you." Rita replied and headed off toward her room.
Triss and Geralt did the same, making the walk to the master bedrooms intricate door.
"Oh, and one more thing Rita... At night, put a sound spell on the room, and always knock." Triss called to her, stopping.
Rita looked back, consumed for a second before her eyes widened and she blushed.
"Mhm," she replied in embarrassment, and opened the door to her room to get some sleep.
"I think you successfully just planted images in her mind that she won't forget for a long while..." Geralt mumbled to her.
"Good," was all she said and opened the door to their bedroom.
It was large, and cozy... To the left at the end of the room there was an eight-pane window, with a long dresser-shoe-cabinet-counter underneath of it. To the right of the room there was a stand alone mirror, then a mirror and chair for Triss to comb her hair. Farther down the wall from that there was a large cabinet.
Slightly to the right of the middle of the room, (slightly off center), was their large king sized bed, plenty of room of for the both of them to sleep and... play on, with no lack of space.
To the left of the bed there was a small nightstand, and then to the left of that there was a door. The door almost guaranteed, led into a walk in closet. Geralt would bet 50 crowns, or whatever that's worth in Bezants, that Triss would have it filled before a weeks time.
"This is perfect, even better than our room in Kaer Morhen..." Geralt commented.
"Oh? I'm so relieved that you like it..."
"Really, and of course I like it, Triss... This house is beautiful and very cozy, and besides... my home is with you."
She looked at him with eyes that screamed: "If you don't kiss me right now then I will definitely burst into tears."
So he did, he put on hand to her cheek and the other to her back and kisser her... Passionately and full of love and assurance.
She kissed back and they stayed there for a few moments before they pulled away.
They knew that they needed to get a nap... They would be intimate later, but that didn't mean they wouldn't tease each other.
He stepped back and pulled his shirt up and off him, making sure to flex each of his muscles while doing so, giving her a show.
She stood there, gazing at him (his chest) intently, her eyes were dark and she was biting her lip, trying to restrain from rubbing her thighs together but failing miserably.
He smiled and looked at her lustfully, a sexy grin on his face.
This proved to turn her on even more and she whimpered, grinding her thighs as she stood there, like a... well, like a bitch in heat.
He stalked over to her and stopped in front of her, gazing down at her with a gaze that would make a woman's knees buckle then bend over, the gaze that left no doubt in her mind who the Alpha was.
She looked up at him with dark eyes, her legs trembling and rubbing together with lust, she was already on a whole other level of high as it was... then he went and turned her on on top of that, results? Extremely horny Maribor Sorceresses, IE: Triss.
He decided to get a little payback for what she did to him in the bathroom, teasing him like that.
He brought his hands up to her shoulders and massaged, effectively breaking her out of her trance but setting her on fire at the same time... She purred in arousal, she was so wet he could smell it, good...
He moved his hands down her shoulders, over her arms and to her breasts, she moaned loudly when he put his hands above them. He latched on and gave them one nice squeeze then pulled away, making her whimper. He started running his hands down her sides, slowly and agonizing, when he got to her waist she moaned loudly again, quivering in anticipation.
When he touched the band of her panties she... well, she panted, lol. She panted and she waved her hands, making all her clothes vanished and his pants vanish. He smirked and grabbed her breasts, kneading her precious globe in his hand and twisting her nipple, making her moan in pleasure. He traveled his hand down her leg to her dripping core, he heard her whimper in arousal and she spread her legs while standing, giving him perfect access to her dripping snatch.
Haha, he brought a finger down and brushed her clit, making her gasp. He took his hand and made a fist, then retracted his thumb and his pointed finger and middle finger , making a perfect tool to make a woman scream.
His thumb would rub her clit and his finger together would plunge into her tight and slick heat, penetrating her.
"Curl the fingers inside to hit her feminine spot, use my thumbnail on her clit, and she'll be gushing harder than a creak... That is, if I was intending to let her climax." He thought to himself with a smirk.
He then pinched her nipple, plunged his fingers inside her then curled them and clawed her clit lightly, he clamped his mouth over hers, muffling her loud and intense scream of pleasure.
He grinned against her mouth and then pulled away and turned and walked to the bed, leaving her there completely naked and quivering with lust and desire, on edge...
He got into bed and lay down on the far side, making room for her when she came to sleep too.
It took her a few moments to figure out what just happened, before she snapped out her shock and whimpered.
"Geralt, please... don't leave me on edge like this, please." She begged, her voice pleading.
"Nuh uh, Triss... We need to get a nap and go for the audience, I seem to remember you also mentioning shopping for paintings, amongst other things... I'm afraid relieving your pent up sexual frustration is far down on the list of priorities." He mocked, his voice coated with pity and sarcasm.
Triss glared daggers at him and crossed her arms, looking like she wanted to just scream in frustration... Which looked pretty unconvincing considering she was stark naked, her crossed arms pushing them together enticingly, her nipples painfully hard and begging to be sucked. Guaranteed she was doing this on purpose, trying to get him to lose it, pounce on her, then she'd get revenge on him by denying him... Haha, he was smarter then that.
"You're cute when you're upset, ok how about this, if you be a good girl, I'll finish what I started, tonight." He cooed, laying his arm out invitingly.
She wasn't in the winning position here, she was the one not in the bed, she was the one naked, and she was the one dripping in arousal lusting for release... Not a great position to be in.
She sighed in defeat and waved her hands, making her bra and panties appear back on her. She walked over to the bed and got in, snuggling herself into his arms to take a nap. It felt unfair but in reality she knew that she had done practically the exact same thing to him in the bathroom...
He smiled and stroked her hair, wrapping his arm protectively around her and bringing her to him.
"Good girl," he whispered to her and they fell asleep in each others arms a few minutes later.
An hour or so later Geralt awoke, refreshed and feeling ready to go see the King...
He didn't want to go, going into another king's court is one of the last things he wanted to do... But he would because Triss wants him to, asked him to, and would be pleased if he accompanied her and Rita.
He wasn't doing it for gold, or for favors, he was doing it because he loved her, more than he's ever loved anyone.
But... knowing Triss, whenever he does something like this that she knows he doesn't want to, but is doing it for her, she usually makes it more than worth while for him afterwards.
But regardless, he loved her and he would do anything for her, he'd give his life to save hers if he was ever, gods forbid, given the choice or in the horrible situation where he needed to.
She was everything to him, and he realizes that she always has been, with Ciri and Vesemir gone, Kaer Morhen abandoned... She is his family and his home, his greatest friend and confidant, his strongest supporter and follower, and most of all she is his lover... but she was still more to him than that.
(A/N What? What is it with "She was," that doesn't make sense! It should be: "She is," but that doesn't sound right does it? Stupid English language...)
He turned his head and watched her as she blissfully slept, tucked into his side, his arm around her securely.
She looked and sounded so in peace, purring softly in his arms, she had wanted this and fought to have this life for so long, sacrificed so much for this, for him... and now to see her so happy and in peace laying her with him, brought an amazing feeling of happiness into his heart. She was so beautiful, perfect, a pure heart of love and kindness... He was extremely lucky and blessed to have her, to have all of her love, all of her heart, that she was completely devoted to him.
He vowed long ago that he would never hurt her again, but in that moment he made the vow again, as a reminder of the incomprehensible sacrifices and hardships his lover has made and gone through to be with him, for him, and the unimaginable love she has for him.
He smiled warmly and tenderly reached his hand up and used two fingers to lovingly stroke her cheek, using his other hand that was around her body to rub the bare skin of her back.
She groaned and her eyes fluttered open, revealing her beautiful green eyes.
"Sleep well, beautiful?" He asked her.
She yawned and replied: "With you as my pillow? Wonderful."
"Mhm, we should get dressed and join Rita."
"Ugh... you're right, let's get dressed." She resigned and got up from the bed, walking over to the place where she had placed the one suitcase she had brought into the bedroom with her, swaying her hips as she did.
She waved her hands and made the bra and panties she was currently wearing disappear, then she waved them again and a much more modest set appeared on her. She then opened the case, inside was the exact same outfit she had worn to fight the last battle with the hunt, her personal armor.
She smiled and waved her hands again, they lit up, making her and the case glow. With a flash it was perfectly fitted onto her, she rolled her shoulders and smoothed it out. She then knelt down and grabbed a object from the case, it was a dagger, she slipped it into the sheath at her side with a click. She also made a small strap appear on her leg, a holder for potions, which was ironic since she was allergic... She then cast her spell on her back and summoned her staff, putting it on her back with the crystal end pointing at the floor...
" I sure hope that razor is stuck inside that thing snug, or she's in serious risk of losing some hair..." Geralt thought to himself with a chuckle.
She must have noticed this because she turned to him and said: "What's so funny?"
"Nothing... Just that if the razor on that thing springs out, you're gonna lose some of you're beautiful hair." He commented.
Triss's eyes widened and she looked over her shoulder, then she sighed.
"It won't come out unless I give it the magic it needs to pop out." She explained, confident.
"Good, anyways... You look absolutely amazing, as usual. What do you want me to wear?"
"Just wear what you usually wear, best armor and swords. You need to be a Witcher for this, not a chaperone." She explained.
"Honestly I'm not interested in wearing cat school armor into a throne room alongside Rita..."
"What?" Triss asked, like she didn't get it.
"I'll wear a different armor, people could get the wrong idea." He explained.
"What idea?"
"That the Lodge is recruiting cat school witchers to kill kings with Triss Merigold as their invitation handout." He explained.
"Don't ins- Oh, well I doubt it... But better safe than sorry, I suppose. Did you bring any other armor with you? I didn't see any..." She pondered.
"Well, I do have one other set. I think... It's super easy to carry with me, so I bring it in my bag, folded up."
"Which set?"
"Raven set." He said with a smirk.
"Mhm... My favorite." She said, licking her lips.
"Oh I know. It's very durable and very light, making it easy to carry around and fold up. Perfect witcher set, I just prefer the cat school armor for better protection, and it's much warmer in the cold." He explained
"Whatever," she pffted like he was boring her.
"Yeah, that's what I say, every time you get done talking about kings and influence..." Geralt mocked.
"Bullshit, you act like the perfect companion and just listen, acting interested. Probably thinking that if you bare through it, I'll reward you for being a good listener..."
"Exactly, and you do... Works every time." He explained.
Triss just put a hand to her face and shook her head slowly, like she can't believe all the times she's been baited.
"Anyway, I love to hear your voice, so I'm not entirely acting..."
"Pfft..." She exclaimed.
"Ehhh, can you make clothes appear on me so I can go get my bag?" He asked, and she waved her hand with a nod and clothes appeared on him. He got up off the bed and walked to the door.
"At least you have a sense of modesty when we have guests..." She mumbled as he opened the door and walked out, which of course he heard.
He didn't say anything in response, just walked to the living room where he had left his travel bag.
When he got into the living room he saw Rita there, already ready to go with her hair done nicely and wearing a stunning green dress. She was so deep in thought that she didn't even see him, sigh...
He just walked over and picked up his travel bag, full of all his gear, potions, bombs and all that. He didn't carry a lot with him, since he was a witcher... They didn't usually stay in one place for too long, never settled down. That is, the ones that weren't him didn't. He also grabbed his sword belt, both of his best swords still on it.
He smiled at the thought, his place was here, with Triss.
He carried his travel case back to their room, he also grabbed his sword belt, both of his best swords still on it from the bathroom where he had sled all his clothes.
When he opened the door and walked into their bedroom Triss was at the mirror combing her hair, she didn't turn and see what he was doing, but he was pretty sure she was watching him through the mirror though.
He put his bag down next to the bed, and started rummaging around, he pulled out a good many things, he hadn't gotten the ravens armor out since... well a long time ago.
Swords, potions, a silver chain, whetstones... Finally, there it was, folded up on the bottom. He pulled out the ravens suit, chest/legs/boots/gloves from the bag then put everything back in. He wouldn't need to put it back in afterwards because he would just hang it up in their closet, or just wear it for casual walking around the city.
"Here we go... Damn this thing's dusty." He exclaimed, coughing for dramatics and shaking it out.
Triss just shook her head like she was watching a child, not turning from the mirror, she waved her hands and his 'modest' clothes, disappeared. He could have sworn that he heard a sound like drool coming from the mirror area... Instead of doing her usual twin buns, she was pulling her hair into two loose buns in the back, and had two thin rivulets of hair held together with a gold sleeve hanging from either side of her head. She also had her beautiful flower hair pin in her hair on her left. She was wearing her favorite earrings, that she could now wear against since Geralt found the one she lost. Then she had a beautiful gem necklace around her neck, that was very similar but still not as good as the one she gave away to pay her rent back in Novigrad...
Once he had gotten done shaking it out, he grabbed the leggings and slipped them up his legs, belting them in place. Then he took the boots and put them on his feet, he grabbed the chest piece and slid it over his head, wiggling a bit and rolling his shoulders much like Triss had done, settling it into place. Lastly he put the gloves on one by one, then he strapped his sword belt on his chest, putting them on his back.
"There... How do I look? Haven't seen this in a while, eh?"
She turned around at that, acting like she hadn't been watching him in the mirror since he walked in... She strode over to him, looking him up and down, then she said: "Very nice, I haven't seen this in a long time... I miss it, so tight." She commented, licking her lips and running her hands over his chest.
"True... It's tight, but not nearly as tight as you." He teased.
She smacked him in the chest and blushed bright red, her eyes wide.
He laughed at her expression and eventually she did too, giggling like a little girl.
"Witty witcher," she mocked.
"Mhm, only for you."
"Ok, this is going south very quickly, let's go meet Rita." She said and walked toward the door, he followed and they walked to the living room. Rita was there, waiting patiently.
"Well you two took a long time..." She commented.
"How long have you been out here Rita?" Triss asked.
"Oh... About a half hour." She replied.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for the wait!" Triss apologized.
"It's perfectly alright, you needed the sleep, and I needed the time anyways."
"Hmmm, alright... Shall we go?"
"Let's." she agreed and they walked to the door.
Outside the three of them gathered waiting.
"Ok, I think I can teleport us there... But I'll need your help, both of you."
"What do you want me to do?" Geralt asked.
"Use your incredible eyes to watch the palace door, if a black circle appears then you'll know I hit what I was aiming for." She explained.
"Alright..."
"Lemme guess, you want some of my power?" Rita asked.
"Mhm."
"Sure... It's better than walking there, ugh." She groaned, giving Triss some of her power.
"Oh boohoo..." Geralt mocked.
"Shush," Triss told him and she walked to the middle of their yard, looking intensely at the palace, squinting.
"Alright, start watching, here's the first shot..." She said, sounding a bit skeptical.
She raised her hands and they glowed, she took a deep breath and then she brought them down and shoved.
BOOM
A portal boomed to life in front of her, swirling into blackness, with the power of both of the Sorceresses it was stronger than usual. Triss exhaled and then she peered around her portal, squinting.
"Well? Did I hit it?" She asked.
"If you were aiming for right in front of the doors, yeah." He said.
"Perfect, thanks, alright let's go." She stated and they got right behind her then the three walked through.
(A/N, I know that was very shitty and not explained, just go with it for now... To put it short, she used lime of sight teleportation, If you still have question you can always ask in a review, I'm just trying to thin the useless details as much as possible...)
When they stepped out, they were right in front of the palace, the beautiful structure hanging hundred of feet above their heads.
"Wow..." Rita said.
"Bigger than the one in Toussaint..." Geralt replied.
"You would know..." Triss added, then she walked forward toward the guards lining the interior entryway. Rita and Geralt just shrugged and followed their leader.
"Halt!" the lead guard shouted, stopping Triss and the group from passing. The three looked about as matching as lace frills on a battle axe, and they looked like a special forces military group, ready for battle... No wonder he stopped them.
Triss sighed and said: "I'm Triss Merigold and I'd like to see the king, as soon as possible please." She finished, sounding and confident and powerful.
The guard was slightly taken aback, then he got it together and said: "My lady, forgive me, this way please." He said, turning around and walking into the palace, they followed right behind. Triss walked like she was born a monarch, striding confidently and elegantly. Rita tried to act confident, the sorceress exterior and interior the only thing that kept any subtlety to the fact that she'd rather be just about anywhere else... Geralt walked like a witcher, confidently striding, believe it or not he was actually used to being in these kinds of places...
All three of them watched the interior of the palace, gazing at decorations and tapestries, light chandeliers on the ceiling... It was the Koviri palace, of course it was decadent and decorated with expensive decor.
As they walked Triss told them that when they went in front of the King, when she kneeled they needed to as well... They both nodded along the way. Before they knew it the guard had reached an expansive door, intricate designs that were too intricate to describe were carved into the golden (seemed to be) door. Two guards were posted on either side, along with a man that looked suspiciously like a chamberlain...
He stopped on the left side of the doors, turning around and reaching his hand to grab the door handle. He also told the chamberlain who they were, and to accompany them. His eyes widened and he nodded, waiting.
"His Majesty is currently in the throne room past here," the guard said, looking at them (read: Triss) for a signal.
Triss looked around, then she looked at Geralt. He nodded with a smile, then she looked at Rita, who gave a nod like:"If I'm gonna be burned alive today I'd like to be home for dinner!"
She looked at the guard and nodded her head, he opened the door for them and they walked in, Triss first, then Geralt and then Rita. The chamberlain followed behind them... once they got through the door the three of them spread back into their triangle formation.
The throne room was large, a chandeliers and stained glass windows lined the ceiling and the upper walls, the walls had paintings, banners, insignias and armor sets decorating and illustrating the power of Kovir, or trying to.
There were two lines of pillars lining from the entrance to the end of the room, where there was a raised platform, a chair that had to be the throne, and a small gather of people standing next to it.
Amongst the pillars to each side there were people, Geralt could see some mages, sorceresses, and other nobleman in the group. The mages and sorceresses were watching their group, the power radiating from Triss, with the added aura from Rita was probably about as subtle as a fiend.
The floor was covered with a long and intricate fine carpet, leading from the entrance to the throne, which they were currently walking along right now.
Triss was walking with so much confidence and grace you could mistake her for the Queen or the monarch. She strode with grace and purpose, not nervous a bit. Rita and Geralt just followed, him with almost as much confidence as Triss, and Rita... Well, she was walking like you would walk to your execution, her eyes darted along the guards lining the throne room, you could have dropped a pin and she'd flinch.
He leaned over and whispered to her: "It's gonna be alright, Rita, Triss knows what she's doing." Reassuring.
She nearly stumbled, then she looked at him and smiled, nodding her head.
When they were just approaching the front of the dais, one of the men talking to the King, at least Geralt assumed it was the king based off his clothing and crown. Anyways, one of the men talking to him cleared his throat and pointed behind the king with a nod, he turned and saw them and his eyes widened a tad, he walked away from the noblemen and came to stand on the edge of the dais.
Triss and the group stopped, and they all kneeled, Triss was by far the most practiced at this... She looked like she'd been doing this for years, Geralt tried as hard as he could to mimic what Triss had showed him, and Rita knew how they bowed in Kovir so she was good. Although she looked like she was trying to do everything she could to avoid attention.
Suddenly they heard the chamberlain speak, announcing their (read: Triss's) arrival...
"Your Majesty," the man paused- "Triss Merigold," he finished with a low bow, gesturing with his arm as he did.
The king nodded, then he announced: "Please, rise." They did just that, once they were all up on their feet they looked to the King. The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop... Which proved to only make Rita more nervous, or that's what Geralt observed.
"Your majesty," Triss started, bowing her head respectively.
The king chuckled, then he said: "Well I must admit, I am surprised... Pleasantly so, we finally meet in person, and I'm impressed to say the least, you certainly know how to make an entrance! I received your messages in the past weeks, but both were rather... erm, vague. But no matter, have you been in Kovir long?" He asked.
Without skipping a beat, Triss replied: "Thank you, and no sire, we arrived this morning, to clear skies and a beautiful city." She finished, curtly and graciously.
He pondered for a moment, obviously hearing the 'we' that she used, and looking behind her at Geralt... Then at Rita.
"Hmm, this morning? Well, I've certainly waited with baited breath for your arrival, so I much appreciate the haste. Now... We can catch up later, but right now, although I've heard some rumors, who are your friends?" He asked, looking at the two of them.
She hesitated for a second, just a second, then she sighed.
She held out her hand in the direction of Geralt, and she said: "To my right, is the Geralt of Rivia, witcher... and my lover." She announced, earning a few murmurs and 'ahhs,' from the crowd in the throne room.
The king nodded, raising an eyebrow of interest, and the nod urging her to continue.
She took a deep breath, then she extended her left arm and said: "and to my right, is Margarita Laux-Antille, co-founder of the Lodge of Sorceresses and former-Recrtress of Aretuza, the same woman who raised and taught me." She finished, sounding confident but unsure.
Gasps echoed through the throne room, and Tancred raised both his eyebrows.
Margarita was attempting to remain calm, after all she did nothing wrong, but it was up to her former student and basically daughter, to get them to understand that... and all the rooms attention,
was on her.
A/N- Yeah, yeah I know... Big cliffhanger, and lots of boring details... yada yada yada.
