For Whom the Bell Tolls
Quasimodo was sitting in Notre Dam thinking about whether he should tell Esmeralda about his feelings and Sora's offer to take him away from the cruel townspeople. "What do you think I should do Gargoyle," he said as he spoke to his imaginary friends.
"Hmm but if I do leave the here who will ring the bells. Wait what do you mean that anybody can ring a bell," Quasi said as he talked to himself.
"You say that I should I should focus more on Esmeralda. What do you mean she's my girl," Quasimodo said shocked.
"I should Tell her how I feel about her? Your right I should tell her I love her. The next Time I see her I will tell her," Quasimodo said confidently.
Just at that moment, the door opened, and Esmeralda walked in. "Esmeralda, you're here?" Quasimodo said both shocked and delighted at seeing the love of his life so soon.
"Quasi we need your help," Esmeralda said as she saw him.
"We," Quasi said. Soon the rest of the party carried in an injured Sora. "Sora your hurt and why is Cloud with you?"
"It's a long story, but it seems like Sora knows where to find an old friend of mine. And if I help him then he helped me find her again," Cloud explained.
"Listen we need a place to treat Sora's wounds," Rapunzel said. "So could we stay the night."
"Um of corse come this way, there is a spare room," Quasi said. He knew that he couldn't confess his feelings to Esmeralda right now so he would have to wait until morning.
The Morning.
Esmeralda had gotten up early to make Sora some breakfast and even get some alone time with Sora.
She made Sora some hot Portage and went to his side. Sora was still sleeping so she gently woke him up.
"Err so nice to wake up to a beautiful face in the morning," Sora said slightly in pain.
"You just woke up, and you're flirting with pretty women. I would say that I'm worried about what kind of man you would be when you grow up, but it's all too clear how you're going to treat woman since you have a harem.
"Is that a problem for you," Sora said sweetly.
"It was at first, but after I had got to know you better, it was all clear why so many women are in love with you," Esmeralda said sweetly.
"Why, thank you. Though I wish when I met a new girl I don't end up fighting monsters," Sora joked.
"You lucky that those Heartless monsters didn't take your heart by now."
"Don't worry about my heart, I only lose it to the beautiful I rescue," Sora said as he pulled Esmeralda closer.
Esmeralda gave no resistance as her lips moved closer his. As her soft lips pressed against his, she closed her eyes to savor the feeling. Sora's tongue pushed against her lips trying to gain entrance into her mouth. Esmeralda parted her lips to allow him access to her mouth. Soon they were tenderly sharing a kiss full of tenderness and caring.
When they parted, Sora tried to move his hands down to her breasts. However, when Esmeralda felt his hand moving towers her untouched bosom, she pulled away in surprise. "Um its too soon for that kind of thing. And this is a church it would wrong to flirt here, much less make love," Esmeralda said as she explained why she was hesitating nervously. "We can do it later when we get out of the city, but not now. Still, how about I feed you your breakfast in bed." As Esmeralda began to feed her new love, she didn't know the Quasimoto was watching the whole thing with a broken heart. He soon left to cry in a corner.
After breakfast, Rapunzel came down and with her powers restored after a goods night rest. She healed Sora, and the group decided to head out and raid the dungeons in hopes of finding Kairi
The team left Esmeralda behind as they didn't want to endanger her. To truly make it appear that Cloud had captured them they were all wearing shackles as they were lead to The dungeons.
"Do we have to wear these shackles," Rapunzel asked. "It makes me feel like a prisoner."
"That's a the point," Kim said. "We want them to think we're actually captured. That way we can take them by surprise."
"It's a waste of time," PJ said. "If it were up to me I would just attack the place head on."
"I've read up on your military history. That's the only battle plan you have and it never really works that well," Sora said. "Now if we keep talking about or plan out in the open it's going to tip off everyone. So let us just are quiet and shut up."
Soon the group was at the castle. Cloud led them up to door until one of the guards stopped him. "Captain Cloud your all right. Everyone was worried when you disappeared last night," the guard said surprised to see him.
"It's not the first time that I have just taken some time off without telling anyone," Cloud said.
"Well, the city wasn't in total chaos before. And Captain Phoebus is also missing. We finally got the shadow creatures under control and using them to combat the gypsies menace. However, the peasants are treating us like we are the bad guys and talks about rebellion are growing. And despite all this going on our two highest ranking officers go missing."
"Well, I was working. I have arrested these gypsies sympathizer. I hope a few days in the dungeons will loosen their tongues," Cloud said coldly.
"Um I should tell Judge about this," the guard said.
"Where is the Judge I don't see him around?" Cloud asked.
"He's probing the city for gypsies at the moment."
"Well, then I will inform him about my progress when he gets back then. Now stop wasting my time and let me in," Cloud said angrily
.
"Yes, of course, sir," the guard said afraid as everyone knew that getting Cloud upset was a very bad idea.
Cloud led them down to the dungeons. However, the group had no idea of what was happening back the Notre Dame and how it would complicate things.
Quasi was still crying after seeing the only woman he ever loved kissing the only man he thought was his friend.
"Why is life so cruel to me. All I wanted was for Esmeralda to love me but she rejected me for some pretty boy. Am I too ugly to ever be loved," Quasi cried out as his heart was filled with pain and sadness?
Creak creak
Quasi stopped crying as he thought he heard something when he went towards the source of the sound a Heartless jumped out and attacked him.
Quasimoto was too surprised to put up a fight, and his heart was taken from him, and he started to turn into a powerful Heartless
Soon Cloud had led Sora and his friends down to the dungeon. Sounds of pain and hopelessness filled the air. "All this moaning and screams really unnerve a girl," Rapunzel said a little frightened.
"I've been in villain lairs before, but none of them ever inflicted such pain and misery on people before," Kim said as she walked through the halls unnerved by all the noise.
"Oh this is nothing," PJ said unaffected by the atmosphere. "When the old Overlord was in power he had at least ten dungeons just like this."
"I kind of hope Kairi isn't here," Sora said not wanting his lover to be put through this.
"Here is the deepest part of the dungeons where they keep what Jude Frollo calls the truely crazy," Cloud explained, However, it seems like they are just refugees from another world like us that are just disoriented from their experience," Cloud explained.
As they came to the area in the dungeon, Sora looked around for Kairi. With mixed emotions, Sora realized that Kairi wasn't here, in fact there was only abut six people there. "Well I don't know if I'm glad to say it or not but it looks like Kairi;s not here."
"Yes, where is Perry have you seen in Ferb? I don't know what I would do if I can't dance with my platypus," Said one of the prisoners who's head kinda of looked like the letter P. The young man was about two years younger than Sora and he had red hair.
"Forgive my brother he's gone a little insane from being locked up," said another boy about two ears younger than Sora with green hair and a head that looks like an F. Also it seemed like the kid named Ferb had a British accent. "Before we were lost to the darkness we did whatever we wanted to do. Now, however, my brother and I have lost everything, and even worse we are chained to the walls unable to even move. It seems my brothers only hope for refuge were to escaped into his mind and constantly live out the wonderful memory in his mind," said the boy with green hair.
"Oh, but where are my manners. My name is Ferb, and this is my brother Phineas.
"We should cheer up our sister. Time to build a giant mix and mingle machine so she can speed date," Phineas said.
"Is it just me or have we found someone even crazier than Lilo," PJ said showing a complete and utter lack of manners.
"Hey you haven't lost everything," said a woman in her late teens, who was in a different cell. "Hi, my name's Vanessa. and despite our situation, Ferb and I have you could say that we have hooked up and have a long distance relationship."
"Or you could say that you have a short distance relationship," said a woman in her mid-twenties and Sora noted that she had quite nice breasts. "My name is Lara Croft, and I am an adventure. I was the best around before everything fell into darkness and I ended up getting locked up in here.
"You know if your such a great adventure why haven't you escaped yet," said a young man with blond hair.
"In case you haven't realized were all chained to the wall," Lara said annoyed. "And it's not like I have a plan of what to do after I escape so what's the point."
"Hey this place is worse than my old School," said a young man in worn clothes and an old red baseball hat. "I what Jump at the Chance to get even a small recess from this place. Oh, my names T.J."
"Now that's introductions are out of the way lets ask the million dollar question," Ferb said I a British accent. "Could you get us out of here."
"Don't feel like you oh them any favors my lord," Oswald said over the com. "If the people are useless you don't really need to do anything other than kill them."
"Don't you think that's a little heartless," Jeremy said.
"It's also unnecessary," Ferb said. "If you get all of us out of here I will help you out with something using my and my brother's skills in inventing," Ferb said.
"So Ferb what do you want to do today? Dig a hole to the center of the earth, built an elevator to the moon, or make giant spinning tops of doom," Phineas said.
"Hmmm, it sounds like these two will be very handy around the lab," Jumba said over the com. "I could use some evil apprentices so could you bring them back to the tower too."
"Well it might make the trip back a little cramped but why not," Sora said as he summoned his Keyblade and used its power to unlock the cells and shackles that held them."
"Well its seems like were finally let out for recess," T.J. said enjoying his first taste of freedom in a long time.
"I kind of hope I get to bust some heads on the way out," Lara said.
"So are we secret agents today," Phineas said as he somehow changes his clothes into spy gear.
"Well time to get going my love," Ferb said as he held onto Vanessa and took out his grappling hook and made his escape out of the dungeon with his brother following close behind.
"Where did he get those spy tools," Kim asked.
"Well those two have always been quite the pair," Jermaine said.
"Hey what's going on down here?" Said a group of guards coming down to investigate.
"Cloud you are a traitor. How dare you betray the judge," the guards shouted as they realized what was going on. The group of guards tried to rush the group, but Lara and Cloud went on the attack first. The guards were no match for the two of them and just by using their fists they were able to knock out the guards.
"That was way to easy," Lara said.
"It's because most of the guards are too incompetent to be fighters. They are only good for pushing around regular citizen, and most of the time they can't even do that very well.
Soon the group made their way out of the dungeon and into the street level, but they were not prepaid for the scene outside. The city was under attack by a giant and disfigured Heartless; however Sora thought that it looked familiar. Getting a closer look at it, it was at least 20ft tall and seemed to resemble a misshapen gargoyle. It had stubby legs, its wings were different sizes, and its body had a large bell with the heartless emblem in it. "Sora then realized that it reminded him of Quasimodo.
"Is that Quasi," Rapunzel said clearly shaken at looking at her former friend.
"A heartless must have gotten to him and exposed the monster of his heart," PJ said.
"Wait are you saying that misshapen creature is Quasimoto's true self," Kim said.
"Not really, Oswald said over the com. "To be more accurate that creature is the embodiment of Quasimodo's pain that he kept in his heart.
"In any case, I can't just let that monster destroy Paris," Cloud said. "I have to slay it before we go anywhere," Clould said as he jumped up to fight the Heartless.
"Hey I just thought of something," Kim said. "Where's Esmeralda?"
"Hmmm, well I don't know. But knowing Esmeralda and how resourceful she is, she most likely has already fled to the court of miracles," Sora said.
When they looked back to see how Cloud was doing, it was not going well. Despite Clouds power, he was unable to harm the giant heartless. The Gargoyles Heartless then began to hit the bell on his chest, and the loud ringing caused Cloud to fall to the ground in pain. Seeing its chance the heartless kicked Cloud into a building knocking Clould out.
"This isn't good if Cloud can't even give that monster a scratch what chance to we have," PJ said as he started to freak out.
"I don't know, build a giant robot to fight it," Sora said sarcastically.
"Good idea we haven't made a robot in a long time," Phineas said.
"Um, I don't think we have time?" Kim said.
"Good point we should use an old design and a song montage to save time," Phineas said.
"Still not enough time," Ferb said. "Let us just use the fade out of a scene and come back with the robot."
Fade out
As the Gargoyle Heartless was destroying the city a massive tree-like monster came up to it. Its head looked like a treehouse. "Why does this look like a cross between a treehouse and a giant robot," T.J. said as he sat at the controls, which looked like a PlayStation controller.
"It's because will used one of our old designs," Phineas said over the com.
"But where did you find things like PlayStation controllers on a primitive world like this?" Kim said as she sat at the other driver station.
"You be surprised at the things you can find laying around," Ferb said.
"Okay?" Sora said a little confused. "Just be ready to shot it with the weapons when we get close enough."
"Don't worry my brother and I are down here waiting by the giant cannon," Phineas said.
As the Tree House Robot got closer, it opened up its chest to reveal a large canon. T.J. and Kim took aim and fired. Unfortunately, the Canon only shot a massive amount of water balloons. While the Heartless was soaked in water, it was completely undamaged and then turned his attention towards them.
"Why dose the canon shot water balloons," Sora yelled into the com.
"Well I could hurt someone if it shot something hard," Phineas said apparently not reading the situation.
"Well, then the two of you will have to fight it hand to hand," Sora said to T.J. and Kim.
"Um is this a bad time to tell you, I'm, not really a gamer," Kim said.
"Honestly I'm not that good at video games either," T.J. said.
"Well don't look at me," Sora said. "We don't even have video games on my island." While they were talking the Giant Heartless landed used its arms to land a massive blow to it causing it to crash to the ground.
"Ow this plan isn't working," PJ said after he landed on his head.
"And I thought cats land on their feet, or are you some kind of dog," Sora said as he landed on his feet.
"Um, shouldn't we worry about the monster," Rapunzel said as she hung in the air. She seemed to avoid getting thrown around by the crash by using her hair to anchor herself.
"Your right Rapunzel. You two just try and attack it, and I'll use my magic to attack," Sora said as he headed to the roof to get a better attack position.
"Let us get this thing on its feet, and let's just mash the bottoms to attack," Kim said.
Soon the Treehouse Robot was back on its feet and attacking wildly due to the wild button pressing. As the Giant heartless traded blows with the Treehouse Robot Sora in his Overlord Armor summoned a huge light bolt that stunned the beast. Whether seizing the moment or a giant mistake, but the Treehouse Robot body slammed the Giant Heartless to the ground. The shock of the Treehouse Roby landing on top of the Giant Heartless shock the entire robot causing Sora and his party to get thrown around a lot.
As the Robot laid on top of the Heartless Sora came up with a plan. "Everyone get out of the Robot," Sora said over the com.
Obeying his orders every abanded the robot.
"Wait a sec are you sure that this is a good idea?" PJ asked. "How are wee supposed to fight that monster now?"
"Oh I have a plan," Sora said as he formed a massive fireball and fired it at the treehouse robot. Since it was made of wood, it quickly caught on fire and instantly became a raging inferno. The Giant Heartless was too hurt from the body slam and was consumed by the fire.
"Oh, goodie a fire for roasting marshmallows. Phineas said already holding his Marshmallow stick. "It's a shame that Isabella and the Fireside Girls aren't here."
"Wait you know Isabella," Sora said shocked to hear a familiar name. "Does that mean you know Candace too?"
"Oh, you know our sister?" Ferb said with his voice displaying actual emotion for once.
"And my girlfriend," Jermy said surprised. "Where is she, is she all right, has she found someone new," he said talking a mile a minuet.
"Well it's a long story, but why don't just get my friend then I will bring everyone along for a reunion. "Just wait by Notre Dame for a while," Sora said.
"Hey Sora I think I found out how to find this Croat of Miracles," Kim said.
"Really how?" Rapunzel asked.
"Well this amulet Esmeralda gave us is supposed to show us how to get there. Well it seems like this is really a crude map of the city, and if this is the front gate and this is Note Ra dam than the last mart here should be the Court of Miracles," Kim Explained
"Let's go then, the sooner we get this over with the sooner we can go to Aries," Cloud said.
Fade out.
Soon Sora's party was going through a tunnel.
"Um are sure this will bring us to the Court of Miracles," PJ asked. "Because it seems like we're just wasting our time.
"Well, it dose seems there is a lack of security here," Kim said.
"Like what?" Sora asked.
"Well if this is the main entrance to the court of miracles than they should have better security," Kim said. "Like guards or traps," Kim said, but she was cut off when the lights went out, and they were left in the dark. "Or an ambush."
The surprise attack was quick and effective as the whole party was tied up and taken away as the attackers sang a song.
Soon they were brought up to the gallows. "Listen, everyone; we have captured the infamous Captain Cloud and a search party. Now let's get the trial over quickly because it's the sentence is the fun part."
"Wait, stop," Esmeralda yelled out. "These are my friends. Even the former captain Cloud helped me get away from the Judge and those Shadow monsters.
"Well why didn't they say so," the gypsies said.
"It's because you gagged us," Sora said. "And Esmeralda its good to see you again."
"After Quasi had fallen to those monsters I ran to the only place that still seemed safe," Esmeralda said.
"Well, are you ready to finally run away with me?" Sora asked.
"Oh yes from now on please take care of me?" Esmeralda asked.
"Oh it sounds like a wedding is going to happen," one of the gypsies said.
"Get married before you go?" The crowd chanted.
"Well if that's what everyone wants they I will marry Sora here and now," Esmeralda said all but surrendering herself to Sora.
"Can I marry him too," Rapunzel asked.
"I would also like to get in on this," Kim said. "I know that were particle married, but I always wanted a romantic wedding ceremony.
"Well if that is the only way then we have no choice," Sora said.
"I'm afraid there will be not such disgraceful and blasphemous ceremony today," Judge Frollo said appearing in the entrance with a platoon of heavily armed guards and heartless. Lilith was with him as well.
"Wait how did you find this place?" Cloud said surprised. "You were never smart enough even to have the remotest idea where even to start looking for this place."
"It seems like these holy creatures are quite adapt at finding dens of sin and wickedness," Frollo said in a high and mighty tone.
"Actually it is all Sora's fault," Lillith said.
"What do you mean by that?" Sora said.
"Well the Keyblade is a powerful weapon against the Heartless, but it's easy to track. All we had to do was keep an eye on you, and you led us straight here," Lilith said. "Now why don't you be good and surrender."
Cloud reposed by swinging his sword so powerfully that it created a shock wave that knocked back many of the guards and Heartless. Sora's also became to use his Blizzard magic to freeze his enemies in ice.
"Well it's my fault for asking an Overlord to be good," Lilith said before she joined the fight. Using her magic, she created a giant wall of fire that kept advancing towards Sora's party and the gypsies.
Cloud and tried in vain to beat back the flames. "Sora this isn't working. We have to try a combo attack.
"What's that?" Sora asked.
"Just charge your blade up with ice magic and follow my lead.
Okay, Sora said as followed Clouds plan. Cloud then crossed blades with Sora's and let it soak up some of the Ice magic. "Now jump high into the air with me and slam your blade into the ground," Cloud said as both of them leaped into the air.
"Double Ice Meteor Impact," They yelled out as they finished the attack. Due the the force of the impacted a and the magic in the blades caused an explosion of ice and frost that smothered the fire and turned the ground into an icy wasteland.
Before Cloud and Sora could make another move Lilith cast another spell. Green mist flooded the cave. Sora's and Cloud were already breathing heavily from fighting. As they breathed in the magical mist, they felt their eyelids growing heavy And All The Energy leaving their bodies. Soon Everyone but Lilith and Judge Frollo.
"Finally I do not only have the sinful gypsie in my hands," Judge Frollo said talking about Esmeralda. "But I have crushed this Court of Miracles. This calls for a show of power, make sure the gypsies vial friends have the best spot to watch the show."
Soon Sora Cloud and the rest of the party woke up to find themselves in chains atop Notre Dame in the middle of the night. Down below them, Esmeralda was tried to a giant wooden stake atop piles of hay; it was clear that she was going to be burned at stake like a witch. She was only dressed in a white nightgown that the people in this world used for underwear.
Frollo was in surrounded by many Heartless, and he had gathered the townsfolk to witness his display of power.
"When now Gypsy it time to decide to be mine of burn for eternity," Frollo said.
"One moment," Lilith said. "I need to inspect her first."
"Whatever an angel of heaven desires,"
"You call that witch an angel of heaven," the priests of Notre Dame yelled out. "You have apparently given yourself over to the darkness in your pride and are against."
"Blasphemy, my agents of purity, punish them," Frollo said talking about his Heartless. What followed was a slaughter the monks who spent their days in prayer were rushed by a large Heartless. All he needed to do was use his belly slide attack knock every one of them off their feet then the Winged Heartless swarmed them and extracted their hearts in front of the terrified crowd.
As the townsfolk watched on in horror as these men of the light were killed in front of them, they realized just how powerless they are, and they were getting a glimpse of what the rest of their lives would be like.
"You're a monster," was all that Esmeralda said in near disbelief.
"Who cares, " Lilith said. "What's important is that your not Princess of the Heart so I have no problem handing you over to that monster."
"Now choose me or the fire," Frollo demand with a crazed look in his eyes.
"The fire would be more pleasant or the two," Esmeralda replied making Frollo throw down a burning torch in anger. It seemed like he took on a look of maniacal glee and the friends slowly advanced towards the bound damsel.
As Sora and his party watched a scene unfold all but PJ struggle against the chains that bound them.
"You know PJ if wouldn't hurt if you actually tried to fight against the chains so we can save Esmeralda, Kim said.
What's the Point? We'll never be able to fight against that kind of odds. We should just cut our losses and escape. PJ said.
"I'm not running. I just need to get out of these chains," Sora said.
Well, it's a good thing we're still here," Ferb said as he and the rest of the freed prisoners appeared. Before anyone could say anything else, French took out his tricked out Swiss Army knife and took out the laser saw and cut Sora's chains.
"I'll free the others you go play the hero and rescue the fair maiden.
Sora's then leaped off the church and using Flowmotion moved down onto the execution platform. Knocking both Frollo and Lilith to the side, he quickly cast the Blizzard spell to quench the flames. He then used his Keyblade to cut the ropes holding her.
Esmeralda had passed out by this point, so he took her limp body and then using Flowmotion ran up the side of Notre Dame. Once he once he reached the top pf the landmark he handed Esmeralda over to Lara for safe keeping.
"Nice work Sora now for the next part of my plan," Oswald said over the com.
Which is what exactly, Sora asked.
"Well, it's simple, since the inhabitants of this church have all been killed off you are free to claim it as your base," Oswald said.
Good idea," Sora said taking out the magical device he needs to establish a connection to the Dark Heart. As soon as the device hit the floor and black mist whirled around, and a large minion portal was formed.
Sora's minion army poured through the portal to meet the Heartless horde. Within moments the streets were filled with violence as the two monsters hordes clashed with each other. The sky was filled with the Winged Heartless and Minions trying to tear each other apart. On the ground, the electric minions were fighting with the Soldier Heartless until a Fat Heartless used it's body slam to flatten everything under him. Before the Fat Heartless could get up, a Brute Minion picked up the large monster and slam education it into the ground over and over until it dissolved into black mist.
Above the battle, Sora and his party were fighting as well. Sora was firing well-aimed lightning bolts and fireballs down at the battle below.
Lara and PJ were in the main hall fighting assume the Heartless that were trying to get in. At the moment PJ was Covered in Soldier Heartless. "Don't worry PJ this should get them off you," Lara said as she pulled out a Gatling gun and aimed it at PJ.
"Are you crazy? Do you know how much Gatling guns hurt," PJ yelled out as he realized that he would be shot hundreds of times.
"Okay you can worry a little," Lara said as she fired off a hundred rounds a minute striking not only the Heartless hoard but also the hapless PJ. As PJ felt the rain of bullets beat down upon him causing him to fail around like a fool.
At the top of Notre Dame, the rest of the party was working catapults that Phineas and Ferb just made. "Well, it looks like we're defending the fort today. Fire the water balloons" Phineas said as they filled the air with water balloons that rained down harmlessly on the enemy.
"Um, shouldn't we load the catapults with something heavy like blocks of wood or stone that's lying around"? Rapunzel asked.
"That could hurt someone," Phineas said.
"But everyone's wearing their safety gear," Venice said.
"Well, I guess if fine then," he replied. Rapunzel wasted no time using her hair to load the weapons of war with the rubble that was around them.
Down below.
As Frollo watch as decided he needed to finish things himself, so he summoned the Winged Heartless to carry him up to the top of the Cathedral. Thanks to Rapunzel heal powers Esmeralda had recovered her strength and joined Sora out on the balcony.
"Oh Esmeralda your up," Sora said happily.
"What's did I miss?" Esmeralda asked confused as to what was happening.
"Well I claimed Notre Dame as my seat of power in this world and summoned my army to fight against Frollo and save the city," Sora explained.
"What's you have done was open the gates of Hell," Frollo said as he got up to the balcony. Both Sora and Frollo drew their blades and started to clash.
