"Dawn and I are in Rister now. We've been here for a day or two, and she's still teaching me how to shoot right. We have a new friend now. She's a reaver, and her name is Dominique. Dawn says her name is French, but I don't know what "French" is. When I asked Dominique what French was, she spoke a few words to me, but I didn't understand them. She laughed and just said that it was another language.
Dominique is helping me learn how to fight with my hands, and she says she might make me a glove like the one her sister had if she can find any more fish hooks. I still don't know what she looks like. She never seems to take off her gas mask. Dawn's gone out to get some food for us all, the food in the supply bag ran out yesterday. It's just me and Dominique right now. I'm starting to like her, she's nice to me. We've all been staying at the hideout since we got here, Julian says we can stay here as long as we want."
Kid suddenly stopped writing, hearing footsteps approach his room. Dominique appeared in the doorway, waving a hand to him as she said "Hey, Kid. Want to practice?" "Fighting?" Kid asked. Dominique nodded. Kid got up from the bed. "Well, alright..." He said. He walked over to the doorway, the two of them walking down the nearby set of stairs, heading down to the main floor. They walked outside into the gentle evening sun, stepping across the dusty and grassless front lawn of the house towards it's side. "Dominique, before we f-fight, can I ask you something?" Kid said. Dominique nodded. "Of course." She said. He slowly said "Well...I can't help b-but notice...You never s-seem to take off your mask..." Dominique's eyes suddenly grew a bit depressed. She looked down and to the side.
Kid noticed her reaction, quickly saying "Sorry, I d-don't mean to...Um...Make you uncomfortable or anything....It's just s-something I noticed, you know?" She took in a breath as she said "I'm not uncomfortable. It's just...It saddens me to think of what my visage looks like." Kid asked "What's wrong with it?" Dominique slowly said "When my sister and I were both young, we...Eh..." She looked back to his eyes with a bit of a brighter emotion in her eyes. "I have an idea. Go through my little training and I'll tell you, okay?" Kid nodded. Dominique said "Okay...Now...You remember how to block my punches, right?" Kid nodded. Dominique said "Good, that could come in handy. Not very many people fight totally unarmed, but you never know. Now, let me show you some headlocks and kicks, okay?" Kid nodded, the two of them sparring a little and training.
Ace sat in the driver's seat of her Highwayman, her legs crossed with her feet up on the dashboard in the passenger's side. The car was on, the radio playing softly, playing a rock song. She was reading a Cat's Paw magazine, reading an article on laser pistols. She kept her Sig Sauer pistol on her stomach, able to easily grab it in case anything happened. A voice drifted out on the wind. "Is that a car? Daaaaaaaamn!" Ace looked up from her magazine, closing it and tossing it onto the passenger-side seat, grabbing her pistol with her right hand and sitting down in her seat properly, taking her feet down from the dashboard. A group of about three men and a woman were approaching the car from the side, still being several minutes of walking time away from the car but still being close enough for Ace to pick up their chattering. "Looks like a girl's in it, though..."
The woman was grinning. "Shouldn't be too hard to trick her out of it." Ace grinned darkly. These people meant to trick her? That was funny to her. She rolled down her window and tossed her Sig Sauer into her left hand, holding it out the window. None of them noticed. Ace waited about a minute until they were close enough. Without warning she opened fire, emptying her clip at them, killing two of the men and hitting the woman, the third man turning and running. Ace began to drive, driving after the last man, laughing softly to herself. Picking up speed, she closed in on him rapidly, hitting the back of his legs and flipping him over the hood. Ace stopped the car, ejecting the clip form her Sig Sauer, quickly loading a fresh one in. She opened the door to her Highwayman and stepped outside. She looked at the man she had hit. The man's left leg was clearly broken, a shard of bone jutting out from the front of his leg. The man was groaning loudly in pain.
Ace walked up to him and said "What are you, a fucking moron? Don't you think that someone with a car would pay attention to the things people say?" The man said nothing, simply groaning in pain, screaming as Ace stomped down on his broken leg. Ace pointed her pistol down at the side of his head, pulling the trigger, watching the other side of his head burst open with the exit wound, blood and gray matter spilling out into the dusty ground. Ace walked back over to her Highwayman, sitting inside and closing the door. "Now...Where to..." She thought. She dropped her pistol down on the passenger side seat, raising her arms to the steering wheel, leaning on it slightly as she thought about her revenge. "I need to find a way to get into New Reno without losing this car...Hmm...Well...I don't even know if they're still in there...They might have decided to split after I found them...Hmm...I'll have to check it out, but how?..." Ace slowly began to drive, taking her time, heading in the general direction of New Reno.
Dawn was fully dressed in her suit of black armour, keeping her Gauss Rifle shouldered with a strap she had bought not long before. Dawn had bought a slightly-rusted machete from a merchant, and was keeping it under her trenchcoat, finding a perfect little strap of leather to slip the machete down through. She stood at the counter of a store, ordering several bottles of Nuka-Cola and some bottles of alcohol along with several wrapped-up pieces of food. She had filled several of her pockets with caps in order to pay for the things she had been buying that day. A few men and women in the room watched her curiously, some not even realizing that she was a female, mostly due to the extensive covering of her armour. The few that had heard her voice or simply figured she was female because of her visible long hair knew the truth. None of them dared mess with her, knowing she could wipe them out with her Gauss Rifle.
There was one particular person, an unscrupulous young man by the name of Anton, who had easily figured out that Dawn was a female, having heard her voice and simply put it together with her hair in his mind, began to notice the curves of Dawn's body through her armour. A small radio began playing a song in a corner of the room, Dawn tapping her hand on the counter in time with the song as it started. The man behind the counter laid Dawn's bag of supplies up on the counter, Dawn having brought it with her to get it refilled. She had emptied it of caps and guns before however, so now it only had food and drinks. She reached into her pockets and pulled out two handfuls of caps, passing them to the man, the man counting them up and nodding, slipping one back to Dawn as her change. Dawn dropped it in one of her pockets, Anton grinning and walking over to the counter from behind Dawn.
People watched him as he moved, wondering if trouble would break out. Anton was of medium height for a sixteen year old boy, wearing a dirty white muscle shirt and dark blue jeans, the jeans in relatively good condition. He wore a pair of dark green and white sneakers, but no socks. His hair was shaggy and dark brown. He walked up behind Dawn and gave her a rather hard slap over where he figured her ass would be, being accurate in his belief, successfully slapping Dawn's ass with his left hand. Dawn gasped softly, Anton rather quickly bringing his right elbow up onto the counter and saying "So, what's with all the food, hmm? Wanna share some with me, your old buddy, old pal?" Dawn turned her head to him, menacingly reaching into her trenchcoat and pulling out her machete. Dawn stared at him through the blue lenses of her helmet, the lenses being lit up from within, Anton unable to see Dawn's eyes or the fury that they held. Rather calmly she asked "Which hand did you touch me with?"
Anton's eyes widened, taking a few slow steps back from her. Dawn turned to the side, facing the several people in the room. This time when she spoke, it was clear that she was angry. "Which hand did he touch me with? Whoever tells me truthfully gets a free glass of whiskey!" Everyone in the room, all eleven of them, piped up. "His left!" They all said. Dawn turned back to him. "Lay your left hand on the counter." She said darkly, nearly muttering her words. Anton shook his head. He knew she probably wanted to cut off his hand. "Are you fucking crazy? No! I'm sorry, okay?" Dawn pointed her machete at him. "Put your damn hand on the counter before I cut your pathetic little head off!!" She nearly shrieked. Anton stared into the lenses of her helmet for a few seconds before slowly reaching his left hand to the counter, resting it on top of it rather shakily. Dawn grabbed his hand by the fingers and held it still. Anton was nearly crying as he realized that Dawn was going to actually cut his hand off.
Dawn raised up her machete, Anton gritting his teeth and shutting his eyes as Dawn brought it down like a reaper's scythe, her machete cutting all the way through his wrist and ramming into the counter beneath it. Anton fell to the ground screaming in pain, Dawn yanking the edge of her machete out of the counter, replacing it back into her trenchcoat. "Fucker..." Dawn muttered, looking at him. "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's asshats that try to touch me without my permission..." The man behind the counter looked at her fearfully. Dawn looked at him for a moment longer before reaching a hand into her pocket, pulling out a few more caps, laying them on the counter. "For the damage to the counter." She paused for a moment before reaching into her pockets again, pulling out another handful of caps. "A round of shots for everyone, hmm?" She said before grabbing the bag of supplies, calmly walking through the doorway of the building as Anton kept screaming, Dawn heading back for the hideout.
Kid and Dominique were both sweating lightly, panting gently as they sat down on the ground across from one another. "Think...You'll be able to...Use that on...Someone?..." She asked. Kid nodded, saying nothing, simply breathing hard. A few minutes passed where they simply caught their breath. "So...Will you tell me why you never t-take off your mask?" Kid asked. Dominique took in a breath before exhaling deeply. "Okay...I said I would, so I will." She stood up and said "Come on, let's go inside." Kid nodded, getting up and walking inside with her. Standing in the cool darkness of the room, Dominique leaned against a wall near the doorway, Kid standing close to her. She didn't say anything for a few seconds. Eventually she started her story.
"When I was younger, my dad started to see the truth in the Reaver Movement. Eventually, my sister and I saw the truth in the Holy One as well and embraced Him. My mother...She did not take to the Holy One as we did. But still, we loved her, nothing could change what she was to us. We were the only family in the Vault 15 settlement to believe in the Reaver Movement...The people of the area grew superstitious of us. They believed we were starting a dangerous cult, as the rest of the settlement had never even heard of the Movement. They warned us to leave town, but my father did not want to...We had lived there for generations, it wasn't right that they could just push us out, oui? Well...Eventually they attacked us. They killed our mother. My father was so mad he killed many of them. While he was out though, a few of the townspeople, they....They came to our home...They attacked my sister and I..."
Kid's face was sad as he slowly said "I'm sorry..." Dominique didn't say anything more for a few moments. She raised her hands to her head, grabbing her gas mask. She slowly pulled it from her head, rather forcefully throwing it to the ground, almost in frustration. Kid took in what she looked like. She had thick blonde hair that reached down to her neck in slightly curly locks. Her eyes were as they were before, deep blue but with some glorious green near the edges. Her face had a few scars to it, a long jagged line of pale scar tissue running from the left corner of her mouth up to nearly her ear in a wicked half-smile. Her right cheek had a simple pale horizontal line of scar tissue across it, not connected to the corner of her mouth. A thin line of scarring went from the middle of her forehead to her right temple, the scar being crooked and looking like the wound it had come from had caused much pain. Her skin was light and creamy, like his. She had plump, rather sexy lips.
She looked into his eyes. "They cut across my sister's face and cut out her right eye, badly slicing her other one...They left her on the ground to bleed to death...She didn't have any weapon to defend herself with, and neither did I...They held me down....They cut up my face for a bit before our father came back, hearing our screams for help...He killed them all...He rushed the both of us out of the settlement then, taking us to the NCR on a cart pulled by several dogs...A few doctors there helped us...They gave my sister a cybernetic eye to replace the one she had lost, and they used a few stimpacks on me along with some injections of Med-X..." Kid watched as Dominique raised a hand to her face, feeling along her scars. "Our father tried to get someone in NCR to help him get back at the people in the settlement, but nobody wanted to get involved...Eventually the police even threw him out for conspiring to commit mass murder...He took us north to Rister, and that's that..."
Kid asked "Where is he now?" Dominique slowly took in a breath, shaking her head gently. "We were accepted here, and although life seemed to be getting better, I don't think my father could really just accept that we had been hurt and that our mother had been killed, not to mention that we were driven from our home...He left to go back to the settlement for revenge about a month ago...We haven't seen him since..." Kid looked down to the floor, softly saying "I'm sorry..." Dominique raised a hand to her face, wiping away the tears that appeared there. "It's okay...This all happened long ago. Thank you though, it means something to me to hear that you care..." Kid looked up to her face. Even with her scars, he couldn't deny that she was a rather pretty girl. "I don't know if it'll m-make you feel any b-better, but I think you're cute, regardless of your sc-scars."
Dominique's eyes widened a little as she looked into his. "...Really?" She asked. He nodded, smiling a little. For a moment she didn't react, but then a gentle smile came on her face. Just seeing her smile made Kid feel good inside, causing him to smile a little more. Dominique's cheeks grew a few tints pink as she thought more on his words. Footsteps began to approach the house. Dominique scrambled to grab her gasmask, pulling it back on just as the door opened. Dawn walked in, holding the bag of supplies in her hands. She closed the door behind herself with her foot, looking at the two of them. Her voice came out from the helmet. "Let's eat, guys!" Kid smiled, Dominique smiling from within her gasmask.
They were all sitting in the kitchen, Dawn on one of the four sides, Kid beside her, Dominique on Dawn's other side, across from Kid. It was the first time Dominique had sat with them at the table, she normally took her food up to her room and ate in private. Dawn had taken her helmet off, laying it by her plate. She had taken off her trenchcoat, hanging it on the back of her chair. She had also pulled off her gloves, laying them down on top of her helmet. Her Gauss Rifle leaned against the table beside her chair. Her plate had a sandwich on it, along with a small piece of Salisbury Steak. She had a bottle of Gamma Gulp Beer by her plate, as well. Kid's plate had a few pieces of Mutfruit, as well as some Ant Meat. A bottle of Cherry Nuka-Cola sat by his plate. Dominique had some Pork N' Beans scooped out onto her plate, as well as some Meat Jerky and some Cheezy Poofs. She had a bottle of Classic Nuka-Cola by her plate. Dawn and Kid began to eat, Kid noticing that Dominique wasn't eating, Dominique sort of shooting worried glances in Dawn's direction every few seconds.
Kid stopped eating, looking into Dominique's eyes from across the table. He smiled. "Dom, she won't mind, go ahead and t-take off your gas mask, eat with us." Dawn stopped eating, looking over to Dominique. Dominique seemed shy and perhaps a bit nervous now that Dawn was actually paying attention to her. She slowly raised her hands to her gasmask, pulling it up, resting it down on the table by her plate and showing her face to Dawn. Dawn smiled. "You were wearing the gasmask just to hide that? Trust me, I've seen worse. Don't worry, you're still a pretty one." Dominique smiled softly, looking down to her food. "...Thank you..." She murmured in reply, a tint of pink entering her cheeks. Kid smiled at Dominique's expression. They all began to eat, Dominique eating with them finally, still smiling softly. Dawn finished her food first, Kid second, Dominique last. They were all chatting together now that their meal was finished, drinking their beverages slowly, taking their time and relaxing with one another. Suddenly, interrupting their pleasant moment, a shout rang out. "Are you in there, you bitch? You think you can cut my son's hand off and just walk away? Get the fuck out here, it's time for justice!"
Dawn narrowed her eyes. Kid looked at Dawn. "Dawn?..." He said. Dawn shook her head slowly, raising a hand to her face as she muttered "Stupid sons of bitches don't know when to just let things go..." She sighed, lowering her hand from her face. "Just stay here, Kid. I'll take care of this. Dominique, if you think you can help, then come on." Dominique nodded, pulling on her gasmask. "Hey, I can help, too!" Kid said, standing up as the two of them did just that. Dawn pulled on her gloves and slipped on her trenchcoat, looking into Kid's eyes with a bit of hesitation. She seemed to think for a few moments before shaking her head. "No, you need a bit more training before I can trust you to take care of yourself. I don't want to put you to any unnecessary risks. Stay here, Kid." Kid looked disappointed and like he was going to argue, but eventually he stopped.
Dawn stepped closer to him, raising a gloved hand to his face, touching his left cheek gently. She looked down into his eyes. "Kid, just stay here, you'll be safe...I don't want you to be in any danger at all...Please..." Kid nodded gently. Dawn closed her eyes and brought her face closer to his, pressing a passionate kiss to his lips for a moment. Kid kissed her back. Dawn pulled away, grabbing her helmet, pulling it on. "Just stay put." She said. He nodded. "My friends saw you go in here, so get out here before we start throwing grenades in through the windows!" Dawn grabbed her Gauss Rifle and headed for the front door of the house. Dominique pulled out her Pulse Pistol and whipped her left hand to the side, the claws of her glove extending out nearly thirty centimeters from the back of her hand. She followed Dawn, the two of them heading out into the relative darkness of the outside, the day turning to it's dusk.
Three men stood outside along with Anton, an angry face on them all. Anton's wound had been closed with the help of several stimpacks, but his hand was gone, there was no hope of reattaching it. "That's her, daddy. The one in the dark armour." Anton said. Dawn smiled from inside her helmet. "Nice to see you again too. Aw, poor baby couldn't get his hand back on? I hope you jerk off with your other one, then." One of the men glared at Dawn. The one that was glaring at her was dressed in metal armour, the other two were dressed in leather armour. They were all armed with combat shotguns. Anton had a M9FS Beretta in his right hand. "You think you can just go around doing as you please, like you own the wastes? Think you can just fuck around with anyone and just get away with it?!" The man questioned furiously. Dawn raised a hand to Anton. "Ask him that, the little bastard came up behind me and slapped my ass, I mean, I'll let a lot of guys I know do that, but not some little snot-nosed punk that I've never seen before!"
The man raised his combat shotgun, the rest of them all doing the same, Dawn raising up her Gauss Rifle, Dominique raising up her Pulse Pistol. "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's some little bitch who thinks she's all that. Kill 'em, boys." Dawn immediately pulled the trigger of her Gauss Rifle, blowing a fist-sized hole right through the man's chest, killing him and even pushing his body back a foot or two before he fell to the ground. The other two men looked at his body in shock, Anton ignoring the body and firing a shot at Dawn. The bullet hit her in the chest, her armour stopping it easily. Dawn turned her gun to him, Anton's eyes going wide. Dawn pulled the trigger, a magnetic whine sounding out as another bullet was fired from the rifle. The top half of Anton's head burst apart, sending pieces of gore all over. One of the last remaining men turn and ran, saying "Fuck this!"
Dominique pulled the trigger of her Pulse Pistol, an electrical hum sounding out as a short purple beam of electricity flew from the red tip of the pistol, the electricity hitting the fleeing man square in the back. An anguished cry came from him as his body almost immediately turned to total ash, electricity visible and running along his skeleton, his body falling into a small pile of fine dust. The last man dropped his gun and raised his hands. "Please don't kill me, this was all my brother's idea, I know his son can be a little prick at times, I'm sorry!" Dominique lowered her gun, but Dawn did not. She pointed it at him. "Please!" He cried. "Dawn?" Dominique said. Dawn pulled the trigger, a portion of the man's stomach blowing open. Dominique flinched as the man's innards spilled to the ground, his body toppling over in death. "Why did you do that?!" Dominique questioned, her eyes wide. "He surrendered! He dropped his gun! He didn't want to fight anymore!"
Dawn looked to Dominique. "He was a spineless coward, that's what he was. They all were. They probably thought they could gang up on me just because I'm a girl. Fools." Dominique looked between the bodies and Dawn for a few moments. "Dawn, where I come from, if someone surrenders in a fight, you let them go!" Dawn said "And where I come from we watch as those people, the very same people let go to live, come back with more people and more guns and kill the idiot that showed them mercy. I don't tolerate any stupid bastard that stands up to me, I end their life, end of story." Dominique murmured a few words to herself in French before saying "That's pretty cold, Dawn..." Dawn started walking towards the bodies of the slain men. "So what? I'm a cold person." She said matter-of-factly.
Dominique watched as Dawn grabbed the men's combat shotguns, along with Anton's Beretta. "...You don't seem cold with Kid..." She said in a bit of a quiet tone. Dawn looked over her shoulder at Dominique. She stood up with the gear from the dead men, saying "That's because...He's different....Let's leave it at that." Dominique quickly asked "Are the two of you in love?" Dawn froze in place. She had never thought of that, love had never entered her head. She said "Come in inside if you're going to." Dominique repeated her question, asking "Are you?" Dawn stayed silent for a moment before simply saying "...I'm locking the door. If you're not inside in ten seconds, you'll be locked out." Dawn walked inside, Dominique wanting an answer to her question, but figuring that it'd probably be for the best is she dropped it for the time being. She rushed inside, Dawn closing and locking the door behind her.
"It's been another two days since my last entry. Dawn and Dominique keep helping me learn how to fight properly. Dominique wears her gasmask less, but she still wears it a lot. Dawn and Dominique seem a little tense with each other now. I wonder what happened between them? I hope Dawn doesn't hurt Dominique like she did with Ace. I wonder what Ace is doing now? I hope she's okay. Dawn and I made love last night, but we had to be careful not to let Dominique hear us. It wasn't too hard because unlike fucking, it seems like making love is pretty quiet. Neither Dawn nor I make much noise, we just sort of make each other feel good. It's nice, I like it. Dominique has been much more friendly to me since I said she was cute. She was already nice before that, but now she seems...Sweeter, if that even makes sense."
Kid looked up from his book as there was a knocking at the front door of the house. It was about three in the afternoon by that point in the day. He closed his book and laid his pencil down by it as Dawn approached the door, dressed in her armour and holding her Gauss Rifle, just to be safe. Dawn opened the door. A man of Asian descent stood in the doorway, dressed in metal armour and holding two Colt M1911s, one in each hand. His eyes had a certain darkness to them, like he was just looking for something to hurt. Dawn raised up her Gauss Rifle, the man quickly raising his eyebrows and softly saying "Load up on guns and bring your friends..." Dawn froze. "It's fun to lose and to pretend..." Dawn smiled from within her helmet. "She's overboard and self-assured..." He said, smiling. They spoke in unison with their next words. "Oh no, I know a dirty word."
They both didn't react for a moment. Dawn lowered her Gauss Rifle, holding a hand out with a smile. He grinned and slipped one of his pistols into a pocket on his pants, shaking her hand with it once it was free. "Nice to hear from a messenger of the Wrights. What's your name?" Dawn said. The man released her hand, saying "Hiro. Please, hold the jokes." Dawn chuckled gently. Hiro raised an eyebrow. "You're Dawn, I assume?" Dawn nodded. "I am. Let me guess...Keith was worried about me?" Hiro shrugged. "More or less. There's more, though." Dawn sighed softly, waiting for Hiro to continue. Hiro quickly said "The Wrights are taking out the Salvatores to gain full control over New Reno. Keith wants your help." Dawn seemed to perk up a little at this piece of news. "Really? Taking down the Salvatores, huh?...Well, that is a big deal. Good thing too, if he had sent you to tell me that he was inviting me to a tea party or some shit, I'd be pissed." Hiro chuckled. "If he told me to send that message, I think I'd just go home and have a drink, heh!"
Dawn smiled. "When does he need me?" Hiro shrugged softly. "As soon as possible, I'd guess." Dawn nodded a little. "Right...Well...Alright, I've got plenty of supplies for a trip back, I've got two friends with me though, so...With you, that'd be four. But still, the supplies should hold. I guess you'd be ready to head back right away?" Hiro nodded. Dawn said "Alright...One second." She turned and looked to Kid, who stood in the kitchen still. "Kid, we're heading back to New Reno for a bit. Go get our stuff with Dominique, we're leaving right away." Kid nodded, slipping his book and pencil into one of his back pockets, heading upstairs to get Dominique. She was in her room relaxing, Kid telling her that they were all heading for New Reno, that Dominique was welcome to come, too. Dominique wanted to come along, helping him gather up all the weapons and supplies they had, meeting at the front door in a few minutes. Dawn stepped outside with them all, Dawn and Hiro leading the way, walking in the direction of New Reno and away from Rister in no time at all, walking off into the afternoon sun.
Marv raced away from Redding, holding the terrified Heather in his arms. People had discovered the three bodies that they had eaten together, the townspeople realizing it was them. They chased after them with sledgehammers and knives, none of the townspeople using guns for some reason. They headed south, inadvertently heading for the not-so-far New Reno, the city that truly never sleeps.
Ace had found out that Dawn and Kid weren't in New Reno any longer. She had hired a few people to find out for her, and after hardly an hour, they came back to her car, Ace parked near the outskirts. Ace thanked them for the information by tossing one of her Acid Grenades their way, none of them even wearing armour, resulting in all of them being reduced to a goopy puddle of liquified flesh and muscle. She got back in her Highwayman, driving for Rister with a dark look on her face.
"Myself, Dawn, Dominique, and this man named Hiro have all been travelling together for two days now. We'll reach New Reno again in another five or six. Hiro seems like an okay guy, but he seems to really like hurting things. Not too long ago we were all attacked by a few mole rats and radscorpions, and we all killed some, even me. I'm getting better at shooting things. Hiro held one down on the ground and shot it several times, but it still wouldn't die. He was laughing as he shot it's eyes out, it was a little freaky. Just an hour ago, we all heard something loud in the distance. Dawn said it was a car. She looked really surprised. We didn't see it, we just heard it, but still. I don't know what a "car" is, but Dawn looked really surprised. Hiro didn't seem to care much. Anyway, it's time to get some sleep. Dawn's telling me to put my book away and get in bed with her. I'll write more later on."
