Disclaimer: Jealousy, violence, hurt/comfort, love, war... Everything, starts during the Threesome quest, but definitely doesn't end there! Also, any character that I did not create for this story DOES NOT belong to me, they belong to CDPR. |
Where the hell have I been? Right? Well here I am, I am back, I have been SO BUSY! Well, not really, but you judge that... I've been finishing up my freshman year, exams and all (Which I bombed, ugh...) I've also been making large edits to this story, as well as my other and making chapters for my other story, so yeah...Anyways
Spicy and rich chapter, almost in apologies for the long wait, I've been prio'ing my other story. Also because I've been making large edits to this story.
So Rita has been pardoned, she was found innocent, what is she going to do with her new life? Is she going to share it with someone else? Or will she remain an independent sorceress? BTW, she will be a large part of this story, she will have a large part to play, as you will see soon enough...
I also went back and edited the early chapters, like chapter 1 had some really bad mistakes, it should be bearable to read now. Chapter 5 also was bad, I added some things to it, not big changes but it definitely is better now IMO. Removed the Lady of the Lake discussion from Chapter 13, I know some might have liked that, but I just think it was OOC, especially after playing through the Witcher 1… Yikes, it wasn't a discussion he should have had with Triss.
This was my first story, so my writing and grammar started out bad, but it got better as I went on… They way I do it, is I fix spelling and grammar as I write, not after I finish. Which I only adopted that way of doing things like halfway into this story, so yeah.
BTW you're still gonna have to wait for the Francesca chapter… I know, but unfortunately it's gonna be a long wait.
Wait, do you guys even read these?
Chapter 18- Stranger things...
3rd Person POV.
This is roughly 5 minutes after the last line of last chapter.
Margarita had recovered her bearings, trying to let as few people as possible know that she had been in tears… Give her a break, FFS? She'd been having nightmares of being burned on a pyre, screaming in agony, every single night on that ship as they sailed here, now she was truly free. But everyone knew, sigh. The three of them were now once again facing toward Tankred, Triss in the front, being the assertive sorceress that she was...
"Thank you, sire." Triss gratified. (Is that how you say that? Is that even a thing?)
"Oh there is nothing to thank me for, if anything, thank you witcher friend, he's the one that spoke so… powerfully, with his speech." He said, nodding his head toward Geralt, who nodded in appreciation.
Triss glanced over her shoulder lightly, then she brought her head back to look at Tankred, smirked, and said: "Oh I will." She stated, sounding suggestive. Making half the men in the throne room instantly jealous of Geralt, and just as many of the women jealous of Triss. They weren't stupid, everyone could see how gorgeous Triss was, they also could make out the obvious detail that the two were lovers… The suggestive tone, the way they talked about each other, and the more perceptive eyes also could make out the detail of the bite mark on Triss's neck.
Tankred lightly chuckled, then he said: "Well that is all for today, please come in tomorrow and we can get everything moving, plenty of things to do… And again, welcome to Kovir." He announced, dismissing everyone and that meeting.
"Yes sire, thank you." Triss nodded.
The three of them nodded and bowed their heads in respect, turning and walking out of the throne room.
The three of them walked out of the main palace gates/ doors, walking down the line of guards that lined the entrance. The guards visibly stiffened, straightening to stand to attention as Triss walked down the landing, Geralt and Rita right behind her. In Kovir they actually respected mages, it was like it used to be, as Triss put it: "To think that guards used to bow to mages they passed in the streets." Now it is like that again, the only place left… Except maybe Dol Blathanna.
They walked to the middle of the main courtyard, it provided a beautiful view of the cities and the mountains, you could see the harbor and even their house from here. Rita gave Triss some of her power, allowing her to draw from Rita and open a large portal that could transport the three of them.
Triss raised her arms then with an elegant and slow stroke downwards, she opened the portal.
The three of them walked through, the destination being the front of their home. Little were they aware of the purple eyes that had been watching them from the shadows...
They had stepped out of the portal, not Triss opened the door and they walked in. They all agreed they'd get changed, so they went to their separate rooms and changed their clothes.
When Triss and Geralt walked into their room, Triss turned around and looped her arms around his neck, kissing him. He kissed back, putting his hands on her waist.
She pulled back and said: "Thank you, that was a very good speech, I… I just don't even know what to say. In the throne room I was just stunned, that was incredible. Did you write that down before hand?"
"What? Of course not, it just… came out, I guess. Rita is a good friend, I wasn't going to let her be persecuted or worse, for something she didn't do and had no part of." He explained.
She looked impressed, nodding her head in a way that showed her agreement. "Good job, it's needless to say that everyone has a respect for you now." She said.
"Well I don't plan to be visiting the palace again… not unless it's with you, so just tell them all that they can relay their compliments through you." He said.
She laughed and said: "Alright, I will," giggling.
They shed their clothes, and put on casual attire, which was really just their standard clothes. Triss had a short sleeved embroidered red shirt on, that hugged her body perfectly, with matching leggings. Geralt just had a close fitting blue shirt, and black pants.
They walked out to the living room together, where Rita was already waiting for them.
"Thank you, both of you." She said, looking up to greet them, she was sitting on the one person sofa with her legs crossed.
"Don't mention it, we weren't going to let you get hurt, you're family." Geralt replied, walking over to sit down on the larger love-seat, he put spread his arm wide along the top, inviting Triss to cuddle into his side. She smiled and did just that, settling into his side and he brought his arm down protectively around her.
"Well, we still got daylight left, amazingly… What are we gonna do?" Geralt asked.
The two girls consecutively groaned, clearly expressing their opinion of "doing anything."
"I'm exhausted, it's not very late, true… But this day has felt like it's lasted forever." Rita commented.
"Geralt… Would you mind going out to the wine cellar to see if there's any wine in there? There were soaps in the bathroom, so maybe they stocked up some wine for us too…" Triss asked, politely.
"Yes… Wine." Rita practically moaned.
"Mhm, hopefully I'll find some…" He said, getting up.
Triss did the favor of making some boots appear on his feet, she also threw him the key to the house, which also opened the wine cellar… She would have to bring the key to the keymaker to get copies, they would need more than one, especially since they were going to give Rita one.
"Thanks, that'll help…"
"Mhm, no problem, come back quick, I already miss my pillow." She called.
Rita giggled and he chuckled, walking out the door to the wine cellar.
Meanwhile, Rita and Triss took this opportunity to talk.
"So what did you think of his speech? I was surprised by some of things he said... Triss started.
"It was incredible, you really struck gold with him… But everything he said was true, I did come here to start a new life, and I am tired of the dirt thrown at me for my association with the Lodge. I lost everything because of them, I told Geralt what happened at Aretuza, and how I made a desperate attempt to reach you in Novigrad, because I knew you were planning an escape. But I failed, the cursed witch hunters ambushed me and my students, I couldn't protect them… I've never been very good with fighting, when we searched for the Sunstone I told him that, and he asked if that's one of the reasons I got captured, and I said yes." She finished, sounding depressed.
"What did they do to you while you were in prison? I remember all too well what the nilffuckers did to me…" She asked.
"We both owe him our lives, but in the Oxenfurt prison they beat me, tortured me… They made me watch as they did horrible things to my students, they knew who I was, and how bad it affected me. Every few days they would take another away, burning them all one by one… Leaving me for last." She was almost in tears, but after the last 5 days she didn't have any left.
Before Triss could say anything she continued.
"But then one day I heard fighting from the other room, and then there Geralt was, storming through the door… He killed all three of the witch hunters in that room with ease, I assume he killed the same amount in the other room. I thought I was hallucinating, I had lost hope of ever getting out of there, ever being saved… But he was real, he killed ever last witch hunter in that place, probably upwards of twenty, got the key from the warden and freed me. He claimed it was Yennefer's idea, her plan, she was the one that teleported me out of there. He's too discreet to take any credit, I didn't give Yenna any, none, because even if it was her plan, Geralt was the one that actually freed me, she was too prideful to get dirty and do it herself." She spat.
"Mental and emotional torture… As well as physical, he didn't take any credit? Sounds about right, he's very selfless, precisely the opposite of what they say about witchers. I'm extremely blessed that he picked me, I've never taken him for grant it, and I never will take advantage of him." She said.
"You'd better not, I know how much you sacrificed and fought to be here now, with him… He loves you very much, he chose you because he knew that you would treat him right, love him with all your heart, and treat him as an equal. I know that you kept secrets from him, I don't know how my star-student was so stupid but I'll just chose to stay ignorant and assume it's because we didn't have relationship classes at Aretuza… I also know how that ended up getting him landed in prison, being blamed for Foltest's death, then you betrayed his trust that one night by going along with Yen's revenge plan… But even through all of that, he still loves and trusts you with all his heart, I know because it's obvious. He forgave you, but just know this, if you screw up again, he won't be so forgiving… If you betray him again, he'll leave, and if by some miracle he doesn't, he won't trust you anymore. Gosh listen to me… Sounding like I know about relationships, you know all that already." She said.
"No, you're right, I do… But I really needed to hear it again, from someone beside myself, I remind myself of that every day… I've done a lot to wrong him in the past, I was foolish, it was stupid, and I almost lost him because of it. But he took me back, after he threw me out of his life, he still took me back. Even though it turned out with us fighting, I couldn't help but feel such overwhelming pride and triumphant when Yennefer teleported into the room that morning… That I was the one in the bed with him, oh the expression of indignation, rage and masked jealousy on her face was like the sweetest honey." She explained, sounding victorious, she had a huge grin on her face.
Rita chuckled, "how did you get into that situation to begin with?" She asked.
"How did she get into what situation?" Geralt interrupted, opening the door. He had two bottles of wine in his hands, along with a long gash right across his thigh.
"What took you so lon- Oh my gosh, what the hell happened!?" Triss exclaimed, rushing over to him her hands glowing. She lead him over to the couch, working her magic.
"Both questions have the same answer, Katakan in the cellar…" He explained.
"What?! How?" Rita exclaimed.
Geralt sat down on the couch, Triss at his side working her magic on his thigh, he set the wine bottles down on the table…
"I'm more interested in how you managed to survive without your armor or swords, why didn't you come back up here for help? Or at least break the tile..." Triss asked, sounding deeply worried.
"I'm a witcher, I don't need sorceresses, in order kill a lousy Katakan." He stated, as if it was obvious.
That effectively ended that conversation… Except for Triss mumbling to herself… He could hear her of course, she was mumbling about how he's always so stubborn and never asks for help, and if he doesn't need sorceresses to kill a Katakan he didn't need them to heal him after, either...
"How did you do it then?" Rita asked, curious.
"Witcher signs..." He started..
"Oh, no! How much of a mess is it down there? Don't tell me that our brand new house already has a wine soaked cellar floor..." Triss whined.
"I didn't make a mess, and besides, I think you know by now that I always clean up my messes." Geralt teased seductively.
Triss stopped for a moment, and blushed furiously, trying desperately to hide her rapidly heating face from the other two in the room...
Rita giggled and smiled knowingly, which was either funny or weird depending on how you look at it...
See the thing was, is that eventually Rita is going to become a big part of their lives, and then eventually aquire familiarly intimate details of their lives.
Meaning, she knows about how intimate they are. From walking in on them on the ship, while they were in a... compromising, position, and then being at home with them now, was spelling disaster of privacy... Especially when Triss was... less than quiet, in the bedroom, which was just one of the countless traits Geralt loved about her.
And they weren't about to put up sound spells in their own home, so Rita had to do it herself if she wanted to not hear them, she was their guest after all.
Meanwhile...
"Thank you, Triss." Geralt said, bring his hand arm down and putting his hand on her back.
She finished with his thigh, closing up the Katakan claw wound, which had been pretty deep, deep enough that Triss had been worried there had been irreversible damage, see a Sorceress can heal, but she can't heal internal injuries, not unless the healing process has begun within five second of the injury.
For a witcher that time can be extended, up to twenty seconds, due to a witcher's ability to slow their heartbeat...
But Triss hadn't vocalized her concern about their being internal injury, because there hadn't been any, she knew because Sorceresses could also run diagnostic spells, which was as ironic as Triss being an alchemist and Sorceress and bring allergic to potions... Because that she could see what's damaged, but she couldn't do anything about it, pretty triggering huh?
Triss smiled and leaned up to his face and put her hands on either side of his face, then she kissed him passionately, lovingly moving her lips against his in a sensual dance.
"You're welcome, Geralt, I'll always be here for you, just please don't put yourself in danger like that again..." Triss said, looking up at him with pure love and complete devotion I'm her beautiful green eyes.. Concern and worry in her voice toward the end, whereas she started off with love.
"I'm sorry, Triss, truly... If I ever get in that situation again I'll come back for help, or at least a silver sword..." He told her.
Triss looked at him thoughtfully, then looked away... Then she turned back to him with that loving expression again, and said: "Promise me."
She said it in the same tone she used to incentivize Geralt to come to that reception with her back in Vizima, the one she used when she asked him to do something for her, something substantial... The tone that she knew he knew meant: "You don't have to, but if you do what I ask, you'll be Very pleased you did."
He looked down at her lovingly, and smiled, then he said: "I promise, Triss, truly."
She smiled warmly and got an excitedly appreciative look on her face, and she leaned in quickly and kissed him, passionately...
"Ah-hem, face suckers... are we going to continue talking, or do I need to leave you two alone?" Rita interrupted.
They stopped, and pulled back, Triss blushing and Geralt frowning.
"Anyways..." Geralt started.
"Yes, anyways..." -Triss
"So, what situation was Triss in?" He asked.
"Oh, that... Well..."
"Wait! Before we get into that, we need to open that." Triss said, pointing at the lonely bottle of wine on the table.
Rita chuckled but agreed, and Geralt went to get some goblets.
When he came back he grabbed the wine bottle and starting pouring, Rita asked for half full, and Triss wanted a full glass... Which he cringed and asked her if she was serious, in which she told him to stop flapping his tongue and pour... He cringed because he knew she was intolerant to alcohol, and with Triss, the drunker she is the hornier she is... And there was still easily 4 hours of daylight left.
"Funny, I usually hear you preaching the opposite..." He teased.
Triss blushed again, as crimson as her hair, and crossed her legs protectively as if it would do her any good...
Geralt chuckled, and poured the wine, he gave Rita her goblet first (because she was their guest) but Triss still frowned at his gesture... Offended that he wouldn't go to her first, but then she must have understood because she visibly relaxed...
He came over to Triss on the couch and gave her her goblet, he leaned down and their lips met halfway.
"Thank you," Triss said.
"Yes, thank you, Geralt." Rita added.
He just nodded and grabbed his own goblet, which he had filled after the two girls...
He sat down on the couch and Triss cuddled into his side, as she usually did, whenever she had the chance...
"So, Rita, tell him what we were talking about..."
"Ahh yes, we were talking about how Triss got back together with you after the double break up..." Rita said to Geralt.
Geralt just looked at them, then took a big swig of his wine (that was more like a gulp) and pulled Triss closer, hugging her to him, a gesture that told Triss he hadn't liked being apart from her either. Which was a very nice comfort for her, knowing that he had missed her even a fraction of how much she had missed him.
Well that's what she wanted, right? for him to be gone? Isn't that what she had wanted? She had come that night with the intention to leave him horny and tied to the bed... So, she guessed she didn't have any right to think about how much he means to her, not when that memory was still fresh in both of their minds...
"What else could you possibly want to know about that..." Geralt said.
"Who said I was asking for more details?" Rita asked.
Triss just looked at her like: "Uhm, because you were?"
"Well in that case there's nothing else to talk about, the full of it is that Yen and Triss devised a plan to get revenge on me, they underestimated me and got tied to the bed instead, I did some... not nice, things to them, then told them it was over... Two days later I had a knock on my door while I was mediating, it was Triss in a beautiful dress, she all but begged for me to forgive her, and I did, now we're more in love then we ever were... What else is there to talk about?"
Triss was smiling widely, when he had said "plan to get revenge on me," she had just looked away in shame, but at that last part she perked up and started smiling with pride. Incredibly happy that he thought they were not only back to being in love, but in more love than ever! It was incredible!
"Rita, me and Geralt vowed we'd leave that in the pass, so please don't bring up the dark spots of the past in our relationship..." Triss said.
"Forgive me... I'm sorry." Rita apologized.
"It's alright, let's talk about something else." Geralt encouraged.
"Yes, I agre-" Triss was cut-off.
She was cut off because suddenly there was a knock at the door, but what cut her off was the pulse of magic coming from outside the house...
Rita must have felt it too, because she tensed up, looking toward the door worriedly.
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
Triss looked up at Geralt warily, and he nodded to her, she nodded back and Geralt got up from the couch, Triss did too, they both walked to their intricate house door and opened it.
Triss gasped... And Geralt groaned.
Standing outside...
Was Fringilla Vigo.
A/N- Didn't expect that did ya? What's her deal?
