The situation at Nagiar is beyond explanation. Nagiar is open plain without any mean for cover. Bunker and landmine sit around, non-stop gunfire, mortar fling around. It was hell. It is said there is life breathing in this blazing field until war started. Now this battlefield will be the one who decide the victor between two country.
"man this is gun testing area but with real target!" frown Felix
"i admit now, i'm scared" said Giulio
"don't be. that whip lady are more than eager to see anyone to say that" said Anastagi
"are even strategy needed in this kind of situation? i don't think any of us won't go back without additional ass hole if we come back alive that is" said Cedric "but aren't you armored like fuck?"
Anastagi frown "sniper bullet can still pierce if it aimed right"
"okay squad, i want your attention now. on this battle, our chance to live is very slim. i won't lie to you although i know you guys already aware of that fact. as for the battle plan, we are going to claim bunker both solid and makeshift. there could be landmine so i want out tech armor to play their role here. Anastagi, you can cover 56. as the field clear, i lead the assault squad to takeover. we gonna repeat this progress. and for others..."
Anastagi attention averted to woman on his side "teach?"
"y-yes?"
"you scared?"
"...who didn't"
Anastagi laugh a little "nobody"
All squad ready themselves to geared up for their greatest fight they ever faced. This time, their target is clearly Empire which mean no hesitation. No Raven on sight but 422 knew better that they are somewhere. Squad 7 also warned that they may face an entity which by no other mean, a Valkyria. Kurt assured Riela that she can control her power who in return let him to hold her leash. Although releasing her power may give them advantage, it won't last if she's out cold later. As they ready in line on their mark, they hold their breath to relax themselves. When the siren goes off, the base camp gate is open and all unit pouring out to attack any imperial dead ahead.
422 squad goes with the plan and Anastagi taking the lead as he got thicker armor than others. It is however giving him hard time to hear what the radio said as he got rain of bullet to his armor and shield.
"56, fuck you! hurry up!"
"be grateful! i'm as sweating up as you!" shout Deit
"hey we got raining hell in here! take that camp!" shout Felix
"on it!" shout Serge who snipe the enemy on makeshift bunker
"use the tank wreck for cover!"
"oh shit mortar!"
Anastagi sure his ear is ringing badly now. Thankfully Deit is on his side as he snap his consciousness back.
"fuck! this is bull!"
"that mortar seems having a cooldown" said Kurt "use the trench when it fire!"
"uhh...negative cap. there's bunch of bedwetter on this side. it's full" mutter Cedric
It take another step of effort until first bunker taken. Now for another side.
"bunker with a 3 stories tower. Empire know their own talent" said Deit
The regular taking the place to give supressing fire as the 422 marching on. When they see the big gun blaze, they shout out another incoming mortar. Anastagi were lucky as he near one. But it do give him another realization.
"teach! did you face that attack head on?"
"as if i got a choice!" grumble Carissa inside the tank
Now they reach the second bunker, Anastagi back on the job as walking shield. Meanwhile on the other line, Felix and his group move rather slower thanks to the tank up ahead along with squad 7.
"why those fucker got thicker shit than us!" shout Felix shooting the grenade launcer
"shut it! at least you got something to fight that thing!" said Giulio who scrambled with his Lancer
"not good, another group heavy armor is coming in!" said Serge
"if only my falcon title is real falcon!" shout Alfons as he throw grenade
Seeing the distressed comrade, Carissa taking the front to give them cover. This however turn out bad as three tanks fire at her. Giulio manage to destroy one and Carissa take the one ahead of her. The last one is too damaged and it pull back.
"mortar!" shout their radio
Carissa barely hold her sense after the shock being shot at by three tanks. Now she brace for another impact, the impact jolt her tanks and she accidently knocked her head. Sounds of static radio can be heard but she can't make it out what it said.
"oh my..." she rub her head. blood.
"...teach!"
Carissa sigh "can't you just do your job? i'm fine"
"huh? i'm talking to captain that we have reach another bunker. what are you talking about teach?"
Carissa flustered "never mind...good job..."
After their second capture, now for the third. This one is rather large and they met with many resistance. But the cramped place only give easier job for Anastagi as he cut the path. When the squad reach spliting path, they decide to take the route each. As Anastagi push the iron door, he got a swing of blade that almost cut his head.
"shit! that thing is jagged! you want to rip my head off!?" shout Anastagi
"oh we meet again" said the fencer
Anastagi smirk "you're that Raven brat with the sword back in Yuell. care for rematch?"
"as if i lose in the first place!"
While Anastagi busy in his duel, Kurt met with a somewhat intense resistance. It was lead by the person he met in Ghirlandio fort. General Jager.
"so we finally meet up again! glad to see you well after pulling stunt in front of our ace!" said Jager
"we're busy, out of the way!" shout Kurt while returning fire
The fight goes on for too long and either side showing no sign of retreat yet on the other hands, their supply is diminished and too many soldier has fallen. Even the mortar somehow stop firing. 422 squad still intact although Felix, Giulio, Cedric, Annika, Leila, and new member Gisel is pulling back.
"this can't go forever. what should we do!" said Amy
"our cap seems busy with the last bunker, we can't do nothing but stay here until that place is occupied. otherwise we're swiss cheesed by those bunker" said Gloria
"oh shit! it's her! fall back!" shout one of regular
"who?" ask Amy
"there!"
Not only they got overrun, now they see a Valkyria taking the field. This turn bad real fast as the Valkyria destroy the heavy armor unit in a flash.
"oh no...this is bad but..." Riela look around "i can't lose them..."
"Riela, i know this sounds wrong but you're the only one who can stop her now" said Valerie
"but...i'm not sure. she's look like handling that power easily"
"i know. but if you don't use it, we will perish! forgive me but i won't forgive you if that happen!"
"Riela! i see it!"
"Kurt?"
"i don't know what you feel right now but don't be scared to use your power. you are not monster like her!"
"...alright..."
Still hesitate, Riela activate her ability as Valkyria. Seeing another being like her, the empire valkyria gave a cold stare.
"so i'm not alone"
"i won't let you pass here" said Riela
"try me. your power seems just awaken not too long ago" she ready her spear
"i'm not like you! and i don't know until i tried!" shout Riela
It was fast paced battle on everyone eyes. Riela do her best to stop empire Valkyria to harm her retreating friends. But even so this new power indeed still too much for her. Yet she force herself to limit just for the sake of them. The other Valkyria however realize her dangerous state.
"cease" said the maiden
"...as if!" said Riela
"you are by no mean to hold that power for long. another attempt, death is assured"
Riela shudder at the thought "lies!"
"i'm not stopping you. just blame yourself in afterlife!"
Riela guard start to fall off and incredibly, her shield begin to crack. This send realization that she is indeed not that powerful. Seeing the chance, the empire valkyria attempt to end her with last thrust. Riela prepare for incoming pain but she felt nothing. And then it was revealed. Another Valkyria has appear.
"what's this!?" shout the maiden
"Alicia!?"
It was the squad 7 lieutenant who block the attack. The empire maiden take a step back and see it for herself. This Valkyria is the same as Riela, just awake her power now. Yet, those gesture and empty stare prove other thing. She is losing herself.
"what the-"
Riela move back quickly as Alicia attack her all of sudden.
"Alicia! it's me! 13!" shout Riela
"it's useless. this poor maiden is lost in her power. it will attack us indiscirminately" said the empire maiden
As she finish her words, she was surprised by the attack coming from Alicia. Had she late any seconds, she would be dead. It attack empire maiden relentlessly but still taking chance to attack Riela. Those two end up in defense state as they got their target confused. Then it hit the empire maiden that Alicia is at her limit.
"tch, this is bad" mutter the maiden
"what? what happen to her!?"
"brace yourself!" shout the maiden as the engulfing light consume the battlefield
