Kalypso nodded. She took a step back to give the male room as he descended down below to the depths. Only then did she began removing her clothes. It wasn't like she was an enchantress to be able to use her powers to dry off. In fact, due to the material the clothes were made they were a pain in the ass to dry. She stood at the edge of the cliff, getting a feel of the way the air moved in these parts. Then she walked backwards, adding enough space to run.
As she flew off the cliff, she nose dived before her fin-like wings popped out and added the extra boost to glide further along the large open area. Only when she reached the darker depths did she dive down.
In the water, another set of fins appeared around her hips. These ones were more elegant in design. Almost similar to the way jelly fish were like. Between those and the large ones that settled at the lower base of her back, she was granted enough mobility and speed underwater. Able to easily move through terrifying currents.
Along with these changes were the way the lava cracks in her body shifted color. Instead of the warm colors naturally produced by the lava, these ones were cool. Ranging from icy blues to teals then to purple. They came to life, moving with a life of their own. There was even a soft shimmer that was produce around her fins. So anywhere she moved, she left a visible trail.
Luckily for the both of them Kalypso had the most control over the electricity in the water. Among all places. It was the water. But it wasn't all that odd should someone know the truth. Though it was in this moment she wasn't sure what she could to show her talents underwater that wasn't all that different from other aquatic creatures. So while she thought, she swam further to the bottom of the lake. Simply to explore her new surroundings, and to see how deep things went.
It seemed to go a lot further than she originally thought. However, there was something that caught her attention. Something many others would be unable to hear. It was like a soft whooshing sound. A gentle hum in her ears. A light pull of something that others would not be able to feel.
This feeling she knew.
But how odd it was here in a place like this? Perhaps it wasn't all that odd after all. The old Earthrealm she knew. This new one that's been altered by the destruction of humans, their technology and the effects of climate change.
Kalypso turned around and swam closer to Thane. "I found something of interest." She grinned, speaking telepathically. But it wasn't the kind like Kenshin. She wasn't a mind reader. This was more of a means of communicating on her part. But without her mark, she would have to be in close range in order to communicate.
She gestured for him to follow her as she swam further down into a crater of the depths. The further they went, the colder it became. The only effect it had on her was comfort and stabilization of her own powers.
They wouldn't go too far as she came to a stop. Webbed hands sprawled out over the rocky surface. "This doesn't belong here." She turned to look at him over her shoulder. "The last time I visited Earthrealm the realm was once had tunnels that connected all over the world." Including to some underground cities. "The ocean was well known for it." Not like humans could ever reach these. Let alone find them without help. "But Raiden once closed off most of the tunnels that connected to above. But he didn't close off all of them. With all the changes the realm has since undergone, I'm sure many have open up without him knowing. Care to learn which one this one goes to?"
Should Thane agree, he'd find her hand began to glow. The veins of light all over her body lit up. A buzzing sound hummed in the water. A second later electrict was sprawl out over the area like a spider web. A demostartion to show him just how much control she had with the ability under water.
The wall shattered, revealing a tunnel large enough for the taur-dragon to fit through. There was a current that was dangerous and powerful. Yet it did not draw them into it.
Kaylpso swam up over to Thane and settled herself along his back. "It'll be easy for us to seperate if we don't stick together like this." She explained. "When you're ready, jump in and keep your wings folded down around you to avoid harm. Whenever you feel the pressure and tempature drop and current getting faster, be prepared to be flung into the next tunnel." She explained. If there was one.
When the taur-creature was ready, they would embark on their journey.
As to be expected, riding the current of the tunnels was like a ride. Fast, harsh, cold. Everything was a blurr in the darkness. They were thrashed about at incredible speed. There was no stopping it even if Thane wanted to.
These tunnels were smaller than the ones found at the bottom of the ocean. Which mean these particular ones had some connections to the ones above. There was a good chance Raiden may have forgotten all about them. One thing was for certain, she could tell by the smell that they haven't been used in eons.
Luckily for them there were no other tunnels to be thrown at. Though they were eventually spat out into an opening. Up in the air. Kalypso was forced to let go of him and on instinct, her 'wings' flared out to keep her afloat. Allowing her to briefly glide to the landing of what appeared to be a cave. An air pocket? Maybe. But the cave was flush with life. An opening above the cave filled with warmth of sunlight.
