Engagement Day

The sun rose up to greet the sky and shined its light upon the little house. Inside the house, the two couples snuggled against each other for warmth. Sonic laid his head on Shadow's chest rising and falling as he breathed in and out. Sonic slowly opened his eye to stare at the quite room around him, then looked up to see his dark lover sleeping away the day. He smiled and kissed his lover's chest and slowly got out of bed being careful not to disturb his counterpart lover. Sonic looked back at his sleeping Koi and smiled, then quickly leaving the room to let Shadow sleep.

Once in the kitchen Sonic looked through the fridge to see what he could find, poured himself a glass of milk, and toasted some bread along with it. He ate slowly until he heard somebody walking down the hallway.

Knuckles peered out and sat right next to Sonic on the table. Sonic kept drinking and eating his toast. After his drink of milk, he smiled at Knuckles who looked at him with an emotionless face.

"What?" said Knuckles resting his head on his hand.

"Nothing...but, judging from the moans last night I can now ask that you and Tails...did it?” said Sonic with a smirk eating some more toast. Knuckles just smiled back at him and nodded.

"It was so...wonderful. Just to be one with him like that, it was as if we became one. He wanted it and I wasn't sure, I was afraid that I was going to hurt him but he reassured me that, that's what he wanted." Sonic just smiled and began to cry out of happiness. He took the box from shadow and covered him mouth with his left hand, leaving him breathless. Shadow took the ring from the box, grabbed Sonic’s left hand, and placed it on the ring finger. Sonic gazed at it and lunged into shadow's arms crying happily.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! A thousand times YES!!!" shouted sonic as he and shadow kissed each other and lay back down sonic resting his head on his dark lovers shoulder quietly both of them went to sleep.

Sonic sighed with love in his heart, he couldn't wait to tell the others but he decided to wait for shadow, so they both could tell all their friends./

"Sonic...Yo Sonic!” said Knuckles waving a hand right in front of his face to snap him out of his daze.

"Huh...what?" said Sonic moving out of the way of Knuckles gloved hand.

"I was asking you something. Did Shadow get you anything? Did he enjoy it?" asked Knuckles eagerly.

"Yes he enjoyed it very much. He enjoyed the suit and the music. It was such a romantic night." said Sonic trying to avoid the subject of Shadow and him getting engaged.

"So what about Tails and you? You two hit it off good...so what's next?" asked Sonic changing the subject. Knuckles got up and walked over to the coffee pot that he had brewing and poured a cup for himself and went back to sitting with Sonic on the table.

"Well I do not know. We'll just take it one day at a time." said Knuckles sipping some coffee.

Shadow woke up and noticed that Sonic wasn't in his arms so he got up and decided to take a quick shower.

After that he was dressed and headed into the kitchen there, he saw Sonic and Knuckles talking about what they did last night. As Shadow stepped into the room, Sonic and Knuckles looked over at him. Sonic gave a smile when shadow came and sat down beside him held his hand with the ring on it and gave Sonic a kiss.

"So what do you want to do today?" asked Shadow glaring at Sonic with a smile.

"Well how about we invite all of our Friends for a get Together Tonight and Discuss Things!” said Sonic winking his eye at shadow for him to catch the hint. Shadow just starred confusingly at Sonic and then caught on to what he was saying.

"Oh... of course we should. It'll be fun to discuss and meet with our friends again and talk about future activities." said Shadow with a raised eyebrow.

Knuckles starred at both of them in curiosity.

"You two want to have a party?! Today?! Why?" asked Knuckles.

"Just to see all of our friends again and chat. But not a party exactly a Dinner party. I am going to call everyone right now." said Sonic getting up and heading towards the living room. Shadow and Knuckles followed him and sat on the couch while Sonic called up all their friends when Knuckles stopped him.

"Wait! What about Rouge and Amy? My Island does not have telephones. Nor does Big the Cat have one either." said Knuckles stating the obvious.

"Yea. You are right but I will call the Chaotix Team and they can give the messages to Rouge and Amy, and Big. I will tell them to be here at five. Is that ok, Shadow?" asked Sonic looking in Shadow's direction awaiting his answer.

"Yes. It's alright with me." said Shadow giving his approval.

Sonic picked up the phone, dialed the number of the Chaotix team, and waited for someone to pick up the phone.

*RING RING*

"Can someone get that?! I'm trying to watch the movie!" said Hector starring at a TV. Screen.

"I'll get it!" called out Charmy buzzing over towards the phone and picking it up.

/Hello?/ asked Charmy.

/Hey, Charmy! It's me, Sonic! /

/Hey, Sonic! What's up?! Is anything wrong? / asked Charmy.

Upon saying his name, Hector got up from the TV. To see if Sonic's call was important.

/No. Everything is fine. Listen Shadow and I are going to have a dinner party here at the house, and we were going to ask you if you all could tell Rouge and Amy on the Island, and Big for us. Do you think you can tell them for us?/ asked Sonic.

/Sure we will tell them. What time is the party? /

/It's at five tonight. / said Sonic.

/Sure I will tell Hector and Espio and we will get on it right away. See ya tonight! Bye!/

/No problem. See you later./ and with that the two hung up the phone and Charmy turned to Hector to tell him the news.

"A party tonight, Huh? Well why not. We can go. It will be a blast. Where's Espio at? asked Hector.

"Ok, sounds good let's go party." said Espio ready to go.

"Yea! We can go get Mom, and Mommy! I'm coming to right?" said Cream not sure if it was an adult party or just a party with games and balloons.

"Yea kid you are coming too!" said Hector motioning for the girl to come along too.

Five O' clock rolled around and everybody was there having fun and eating pizza with sodas and junk food all around.

Sonic and Shadow sat in the living room alone because everybody was in the kitchen finishing up their food.

"Well yesterday was our anniversary day... and we had fun..." started Sonic as the room gave out whoops and whistles.

"W-We are getting married!” said Sonic waiting everybody’s reply.

The room fell dead silent and everyone was in shock until Amy got up and gave a hug to Sonic congratulating him and Shadow. Soon the whole room was in an up roar congratulating the two on their newest step of their relationship.

"Yea, way to go you two!" said the Guardian in his low tenor voice shaking Shadow's hand. Soon everybody was shaking and congratulating the two on their good news. Charmy kept buzzing around the room and Cream kept jumping up and down at the excitement.

"So when is the big day going to take place?" asked Rouge grabbing the small rabbit and placing it on her lap and then sat down next to Amy.

Through the rest of the day, the entire gang talked about the wedding day and how it was going to be. Sonic and Shadow were in the middle of all the attention. Soon everybody went home and the house was quiet again leaving the two couples to rest from the big party that was held earlier. The two couples sat in the living room looking at the mess left by all of their friends.

Tails sat in Knuckles lap while the guardian just sat and leaning his head onto his little fox. In the morning, the sun shined brightly over the land and smiled down upon the lovers in the house.

"First of all...it seems that you two had fun last night." said Sonic with a raised eyebrow. Knuckles eyes widened and starred at him.

"Sonic! You two could've made your own noise instead of listening to us, ya know!" snapped out Knuckles his cheeks turning a bright red.

"Yes well...Would you ever consider marring Tails?" he asked watching for any signs that might get the guardian mad. Knuckles has thought about asking Tails to marry him but was it too soon to ask or was it too late? In addition, they both lived together on his island. Sonic waited for a response out of the guardian but he said nothing. He was trapped in his own little world.

"Knuckles? Knuckles...?/ man he must really be taking this question seriously./ KNUCKLES!!!" shouted Sonic finally snapping him out of his dream world. Knuckles couldn't help but stare at the blue hero in front of him.

"I have thought of marriage. But...what if Tails isn't ready for that step?" said Knuckles having doubts about whether or not he should just ask Tails to marry him or not.

"Well he moved with you up there already and the two of you have been seeing each other for a while now. If you want just wait on the subject and ask later when you know you are ready." said Sonic biting out of his biscuit and sipping the rest of his coffee.

"Say why don't we go out for a jog or something we can talk better." said the blue hero thinking he could get Knuckles to talk better if they were alone. Knuckles agreed and soon after they finished their breakfast they headed out to the cliffs to talk because that's where knuckles felt more comfortable.

"So how long have you been thinking about proposing to tails?" asked Sonic sitting by the edge of the cliff along with Knuckles next to him. Knuckles starred out at the scenery and felt the wind blow on his fur.

"Well for a while now. I am just not sure that if I asked he would not be ready for such a big step. You and Shadow have been going out a lot longer and you two make such a great couple. I would love to ask Tails to marry me. Him and me get along so good we never fight and trust each other so much." said Knuckles bringing up his knees to his chest and hugging them. Sonic starred at his friend in wonder.

"So if you two get along so well then what's the problem. I mean he moved all the way to the island to be with you!” said Sonic not getting what Knuckles was trying to say.

"I mean that he is so young. He is still a child! He is a gorgeous genius, and acts mature and very intelligent for his age. However, he is still a child; can you imagine the new experiences that he and I would face together? What if it all scares him?" said Knuckles now starring at the blue hero’s emerald eyes. Sonic got mad, stood up, and grabbed Knuckles by his fur chest pulling him up with him. Sonic starred at him flat in the eyes.

"What are you talking about?! He went into this relationship with you because he loves you; he knew very well the steps that would take place if you two were to go so far in to your relationship! If it did scare him, he would have told you that he was not ready! He has already given himself to you! What more do you need? A big sign that says "I’m ready to get married?" Plastered all over the city! He is ready to move to the next level, you just are not reading the signals correctly. Marriage is about wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone that you love very much. It's supposed to be a surprise when you ask somebody to marry you."

Sonic then dropped Knuckles onto the ground surprised by Sonic's remark. Knuckles did nothing to fight back he just sat there starring in 'aw' at Sonic.

"Well me and Knuckles are going to head up there in a few days so you can start to plan your wedding day." said Tails going back to his reading, Shadow was about to say something when the door was opened and in came Sonic and Knuckles.
