Chapter 2: Ike X
Titania

Death.

Ike lie awake in
his bed, his arms and legs extended outwards over the edges of the
bed. He was staring up into the ceiling. As hard as he willed
himself to, Ike could not fall asleep. But then again, he hadn't
expected to. His father had, after all, just died a few hours ago.
After exchanging words with the others, Ike had gone to his quarters,

the hallway, shining of each rough stone. Ike found that the source
was an arched window that allowed the moon light to spill in. Ike
hopped up and sat on the window sill, staring into the moon. His
heart was heavy, his spirit diminished. And Ike, now a commander, he
knew that everybody felt the same, and that their preformance would
suffer.

“Gah, I'll
need to raise moral some way. But how can I when I don't even feel
motivated either?”

Ike raised his
hand to the sky. He didn't know what to do, he just wanted to pull
his dad back from heaven and ask his advice. However, Ike knew the
world didn't work that way and so he decided to return to his
quarters. As he turned to leave, Ike heard a soft sob. Ike looked
back out the window. It had come in the direction of the woods. Ike
let himself fall from the window, walking towards the woods. As he
neared, the sobbing became clearer. It was a women, he was sure of
that...but who? As Ike cleared away the branches in his path, Ike

“There is

bit taken aback, she had been expecting scolding for something else,
like abandoning post. She nodded.

“Y-Yes,
you're right, I'm sorry. I-I just can't believe it. I wish I could
have one moment, one second where I would forget it all...”

Ike sighed,
standing up.

“Well, It's
my job to raise moral. If you know a way I can do such a thing for
you, just tell me.”

As Ike began to
walk away, Titania grabbed his wrist, and he turned back around.
Titania was looking uneasily at the ground, and when she looked back
up at him, the look on her face would have led Ike to believe this
was not Titania.

Ike knelt down,

clearing the tear stains from her face and walking towards the
castle.

“Follow me.”

Ike complied as
Titania led him back into the castle. All of the troops had been
assigned to the first floor, so it took Ike by surprise as Titania
led him up the ancient stair case to the second and then third
levels. Titania led him down the halls as she checked each room they
passed, until they found a sizable room with a large bed against one
wall. Titania beckoned him in. As he entered, Titania closed the door
behind him. Ike turned to face her.

“Titania,
why are we up here?”

Titania said
nothing, she only came forward and kissed Ike forcefully on the lips.
