Much to Roxas’s surprise, the area around the small boarded up studio was drier than a sun bleached bone. This was the secret castle that Riku and he shared. It didn’t look like much, but then again, if it did, they would never have been able to select it as their place of meeting. He hesitated outside for a moment, enjoying the warm rays of the sun on his damp face before proceeding into the dark building. Even though he couldn’t see where he was going, he knew the walk by heart. His sneakers screeched loudly on the dry tile floor in the entry way, but he didn’t let it bother him. Even though the studio was silent, he knew that he wasn’t alone. Riku would be on the second floor, waiting for him. He let his right hand graze the thick banister as he ascended up the winding oak staircase. Inside of him, his stomach twisted with each step, wondering what was in store for him today. There was never a dull moment when he and Riku were together intimately, but today, there seemed to be an odd atmosphere in the building. When he reached the top and last step, he was only vaguely surprised to see that Riku was paying no attention to him.
“You’re late.” It wasn’t a question, and Roxas wasn’t sure how to respond to it. Surely, he hadn’t meant to be.
“It won’t hap—”
“Roxas…” The blonde stopped immediately as his stomach began twisting in another manner, a far more unpleasant one. Had Riku just called him by his real name? Usually, Riku called him by another name—one that Roxas didn’t exactly adore, but tolerated all the same out of adoration for Riku. Unsure of what to say, he decided to just keep silent. “I found him,” the other male continued after a moment. Roxas stood completely still, even when Riku turned and gestured for him to come closer.
“You mean…Sora?”
“Come here, Roxas, I much prefer being able to see you.” Still, Roxas didn’t flinch. Why would Riku bring up Sora in that way? Wasn’t this supposed to be their time together? What else did Sora have to do with it? The blonde got the distinct feeling that this would be their last time together, that Riku would desert him and pursue the ‘better half’ of them both. Riku was silent while he waited for Roxas to obey, not saying another word nor moving an inch towards the blonde. It was a stalemate. Roxas knew that he could turn around and leave the studio right this second if so he desired—now was his one and only chance to do so. But, even if this would his last time with Riku, he didn’t want it to be any shorter or any less bittersweet. After a good long moment, he approached the other as requested.
“There’s a good boy,” Riku affirmed, standing from his seated position and flashing the glum Roxas an encouraging smile. He sifted some of the blond strands out of the other’s face, feeling the cold water run onto his hand as he did so. “Is that why you’re so down? Because of the rain? Usually you enjoy the rain, don’t you?”
Roxas pressed his lips tighter together. It was against the rules to tell Riku that he loved him. “I don’t want you to go,” he managed finally, his eyes down. He didn’t want to look up and see whatever expression Riku had. He didn’t want to know that he was right in thinking that the other was leaving. He continued standing where he was while the other circled him.
“Who said I was leaving?” Riku purred into his ear, rearing up behind him and moving his hands forwards over Roxas’ hips.
“You told me that I was your Sora. You don’t need to go back to him. You have me.” It was the best that he could do to keep his voice as neutral as possible, resulting in him feeling perhaps just a little bit too detached from the situation. His eyes slowly closed as Riku’s hands moved up his front, systematically discarding the heavy garments that he wore. Soon, he could feel beads of moisture dropping onto his naked neck from his hair. There was a dull thud as the drenched cloak hit the ground, streaking a thin dagger of water as it continued to slide on the beaten-down wood flooring. He shivered lightly as the warmth of Riku’s touch spread through his body, overtaking the chill it contained. Riku wasn’t answering him. At the moment, he seemed to be more interested in caressing Roxas’ smooth shoulder with his lips as slowly as possible. The blonde released a warm sigh when his completely exposed backside met for the first time with his lover’s form. Sure, he was completely naked in front of Riku, in this room… but it had long since stopped bothering him. His left hand rose over his shoulder and tucked far behind him, able to feel the thick, soft, and dry hair that blanketed the other male’s shoulders. “You can’t leave me, Riku. I’m everything you need,” he whispered softly. The other male hesitated for a moment, and Roxas wondered briefly if it meant that he agreed. He sure hoped that’s what it meant anyhow…
“Hm…” Roxas’ heart skipped a beat. That wasn’t necessarily a good sound coming from Riku’s mouth: at least not with the gravity in which he uttered it with. The other male’s touch retreated from his body until he felt Riku’s nimble fingers tangling themselves in the blonde’s wet locks at the nape of his neck. With practiced skill, the other male turned Roxas away from him as one might do while dancing. His grasp remained strong even after he managed to pull him against the wall, quite purposefully landing a thick bang of the head against it.
“Ngh—Augh—!” the blonde cried loudly in surprise and pain. It had happened so fast—but all the same, he should have been prepared for it. Had he been, perhaps his crown’s contact with the wall would have landed more on Riku’s fingers than the actual top of his head. Then again, Riku was pulling his hair awfully hard… he probably predicted that Roxas would know what he’d do. Instinct told him to stop Riku from painfully tugging at his hair, but the other male quite easily caught his wrists together and held them above his head on the wall. He knew better than to try and worm away though, and merely closed his eyes, hissing at the pain building at his roots.
“What did you just say, Roxas?” Riku’s voice came, not sounding very upset. His tone had a strong hint of ‘warning’ in it, and Roxas knew well to heed that tone, even if he had felt like he hadn’t actually usurped his position that time.
“I’m sorry, that was out of line,” he grunted, fidgeting up and down on the wall.
“And why?” Roxas didn’t answer right off. He knew what the true answer was, but he didn’t want to say it. When the pulling in his hair increased though, he answered in fear that Riku was going to rip that fist of hair right from his scalp. He had to say something!
“Because when we’re together, I submit to you,” he managed quickly, “not the other way around!” Riku’s grasp in his hair lessened for a moment as he considered Roxas’ words. They hadn’t been the ones that he was looking for. On the other hand, he wasn’t interested in beating Roxas up. He just had to assert his position in the relationship so that Roxas wouldn’t get confused. This was why he would have preferred Roxas to repeat to him that they didn’t love each other. Perhaps though, since Roxas allegedly hadn’t thought of that, Riku had nothing to worry about. Roxas knew that he wasn’t loved like that, so it would be foolish for him to love Riku.
The small gasps of air that had once been coming from Roxas’ lips changed dramatically into softer, more pleased noises when Riku took advantage of Roxas’ taught neck. “That’s right.” His lips closed around the protruding adam’s apple, pinching it gently between his teeth. “My lovely Sora…”
‘Yes,’ Roxas’ mind raced, ‘I’m the only Sora you’ll ever need. I’ll show you that, Riku.’ His fingers curled inwards, but he found that his wrists were too far away, and he couldn’t touch his love. No matter; he preferred having a dominant lover. It made it all the more thrilling when he submitted to an equal.
“Damn, I could take you right here and now, Sora…” Riku was saying, having pulled back for a moment to just run his eyes up and down Roxas’ body.
“Do it,” the blonde whispered meaningfully, closing his eyes. He let his back arc his body towards the other male’s, stretching his arms out from where his wrists were pinned tightly to the wall. If this was going to be his last time, this was his last chance to show Riku how much he wanted him, and how much he’d do for him if he only stayed. “Go ahead, master.” He opened his eyes a little bit more, but not entirely so he could look at the beautiful man in front of him through his eyelashes. Riku appeared to be smirking, but he entirely released the locks between his fingers and trailed a few fingers down Roxas’ spine. Automatically, the blonde’s body arched away from the shivers his love gave him. His eyes dwelt on Riku’s lips, wanting badly to feel their soft caress on his own. They both knew this, but Riku was making him wait. It was a cruel game that they sometimes played, and it seemed that Riku was in one of those moods today. No doubt it had something to do with the flip comments that Roxas had made before.
Suddenly, two digits dove into his tight and unprepared cavern His lips parted more generously as a soft groan escaped. Inside of him, Riku’s two dry fingers continued invading, moving apart in order to unnecessarily stretch him farther. It was the perfect enough distraction that Roxas didn’t initially feel Riku’s lips move back against his neck when they did. His mind was on three things: the stirring of blood in his sac, the two fingers creeping into him, and the prospect of this being his last time with the other male.
“You’re beautiful, Sora.” Roxas let his eyes focus on looking straight ahead. Riku was whispering into his ear. The grip on his wrists was starting to decrease, but the blonde kept his hands folded where they were. “You’ve always been beautiful,” the voice reminded him, a tongue tracing the rim of his ear. “I’m really a lucky guy.”
“I…” the blonde hesitated. His heart was beating out of his chest with anticipation. “I love you, too,” he continued almost breathlessly. That of course, hadn’t been what Riku was saying, but Roxas couldn’t help but feel like that is what the other male truly meant. He knew one thing for sure: HE wasn’t lying. The hand that had caught his wrists was gently trailing down his arms now, undoubtedly admiring just how smooth the clear skin was. His eyes were lifted up to meet Riku’s again when the hand grasped the tip of his chin and tilted it upwards. He’d broken the rules… he’d just told Riku of his true feelings when he was ‘supposed to be’ Sora. Imagine the surprise when all Riku did was carefully study his expression before crushing his lips against the blonde’s.
Roxas took them willingly, appreciating the softness of the other male’s lips while they forcefully kissed him. ‘Passion’ could just barely begin to describe it. Their tongues slid against one another as they tasted the sweetness of the others’ mouth. Roxas let his hands from the wall, resting his arms on Riku’s shoulders. In turn, he felt his back move from against the wall as Riku abandoned his insides to pull him tight against him again. Was it okay that Roxas had just admitted that aloud? Hadn’t they decided that they weren’t going to fall in love? ‘He does love me,’ Roxas whispered in his own mind. He didn’t have anything to worry about; since Riku loved him, he wouldn’t leave him.
Seconds later, he felt his toes leaving the ground. Instinctively, his legs wrapped around Riku’s waist as he was carried to the nearest flat surface that wasn’t the floor: it was a flat ebony wooden table that measured about five feet long and three feet deep. There were chairs there too, but they were ignored as the blonde’s weight dropped not so carefully on the higher surface. Warm hands moved from his back and smoothed down his sides as Riku started to pull away from him. The kiss was broken for only a second when the other male pulled his top over his head, dropping it carelessly on a chair that was pushed into the table. Roxas watched him undress carefully, his eyes feasting on the young pale skin that was now revealed to him. He realized that Riku was looking straight back to him, but it didn’t faze him. This was one thing that Riku couldn’t make him feel self-conscious about.
Despite his decision to sit up straighter for a better view, he soon found himself being eased back down. Once his shoulder blades met the cold wood again, he rolled his head to the side slightly, as if he were trying to look around his own body to see the other. He could feel Riku’s fingertips gently sliding up his thighs, and they continued to slide there even when Riku leaned into him.
“Riku… please,” the blonde whispered. Everything seemed to be moving so fast, but it never came as a surprise to him. He’d been waiting for this moment ever since Riku had stood up and walked out the door the last time that they had been together like this. His fingers met Riku’s now bare back and curled delicately into the skin in anticipation. The hand that had been caressing his thigh was dipping closer to the table again, the pad of Riku’s thumb stroking the underside of his erection one last time before entering him.
He found that it didn’t hurt as he expected that it might, the way that it sometimes did when they didn’t take their time with one another. Of course, it would be a lie to say that it didn’t hurt at all. His hands cheated up Riku’s body steadily until his arms were wrapped around his neck, pulling his lips down into a kiss.
Riku didn’t protest the kiss at all, and merely closed his eyes for the moment so he could picture it better. Now… Now it wasn’t Roxas underneath him, it was the true Sora. The energetic brunette was going to be in the throws of ecstasy, not Roxas. This made him both want to take him harder and to be gentler with him. He didn’t want to harm that body, but he didn’t want to not take advantage of it when it lay beneath him so openly. The sounds that poured from the lips he kissed became sharper as he began thrusting with more conviction. He was glad now that he had finally remembered to bring that tube with him. Roxas hadn’t seen him use it, so it must have been a surprise to him, even if his trained body did accept his length so willingly. He hadn’t been touching his thighs just to touch them. The gesture had also served as another distraction.
This table was almost the perfect height…
Almost.
Roxas squealed briefly as his back slid down the length of it suddenly, meeting with Riku’s deeper thrusts. His arms tightened around his neck and his legs around his torso, but Riku didn’t seem to need to pull him any closer since he was now fully sheathing himself inside of Roxas’ body every time he penetrated it. “R—Riku! Oh….I…”
“It’s okay…Sora. Do what you wish—…”
The blonde shook his head, though it was rather difficult to tell with the movement between the two of them. That wasn’t what he was trying to say. “I love you…so much…” he thought that he felt Riku’s muscles tighten on his shoulders, and was glad. That would mean that his words were getting through to him. “Always…have.” The other male didn’t say a word, but Roxas hadn’t expected him to. He didn’t hesitate for a moment in what he was doing though, so Roxas knew that the lack of reaction he was getting wasn’t a negative thing. Probably, Riku was just surprised. The way he continued however, was an inclination that he wasn’t disturbed by the news. ‘He does care for me,’ Roxas thought blissfully, gasping in some much needed oxygen. It wasn’t long before he put Riku’s words to use, releasing his essence when he couldn’t hold it in anymore. Riku followed suit, releasing his cream into Roxas’ body, filling any and all cavities in the other boy’s body.
Roxas lay his head back on the table and gazed contently up at Riku. His smile became weak however, when he noticed Riku’s now bland consonance for the first time. He brought one of his sticky hands up to touch the other’s cheek affectionately, a bit of worry showing through his lightly furrowed brow. “Are you okay?” Riku just continued looking at him almost blankly. Roxas started to get worried. This wasn’t a usual reaction when they were together. Sure, Riku had never been one to sing and dance, but he usually at least said something…he didn’t act as if he thought he’d been fucking someone of little importance. The blonde sat up as the other drew away from him, letting his legs fall over the edge of the table while the other moved to pick up his dry clothes. “Riku…?” he asked again, this time his tone a bit deeper and serious.
Riku finally answered with a question, “Do you really love me?” Roxas tried desperately to read his lover’s face.
“Yes,” he decided honestly, “That’s what I said, isn’t it?”
“Roxas. The truth. Do you—not Sora, but you—love me?”
Roxas wet his lips but then gave a short chuckle. Riku seemed a bit worried himself. “Don’t worry. Your Sora loves you,” he answered, dropping himself from the surface to his feet. “And he knows how you feel about him as well…” A small grin worked its way onto his face again, his fingers taking a hold of the fabric that Riku was now just holding. “…you won’t leave me, Riku. We’re not here because of physical necessity. Not anymore. You don’t have to pretend anymore. I’m not going to turn you away for your feelings.” What was with those eyes? There was something in them…some sort of hidden emotion… but Roxas couldn’t tell what sort of emotion it was.
“Roxas, listen to me,” Riku started in a serious tone.
“I am.”
“No—you’re not! You didn’t listen! You—you can’t love me Roxas! You’re an idiot! Fuck, I can’t believe this…”
“Excuse me? Can’t believe what, exactly?” Roxas asked, unable to keep a bit of a defensive edge out of his tone. “You do love me, Riku. I can see it in your eyes every time we meet.”
“No! I’m not looking at you! I’m looking at Sora!”
“I am your Sora—that means that you love me!”
“I love my Sora—yes—”
“Then what’s the problem?” Roxas asked, drawing himself up against Riku again, replacing his arms around his neck. “If you don’t want anyone to know that’s fine… I mean… it is a little unorthodox for two Nobodies to feel this way about one another—What the hell is wrong with you?! I’m telling you that this is an okay thing! There’s no need to get violent about it!”
Riku chuckled lightly to himself, turning away from the figure that he’d just pushed away from himself and onto the floor, “That’s a strange thing to hear from you.”
“I don’t get you!” Roxas answered once he was on his feet again, “Why are you saying that you don’t love me when I know that you do?”
“I don’t love you, Roxas! I love Sora! You are my pretend Sora! You’re my make-do Sora! I TOLD you at the beginning of all of this that I did not and would not ever love you! I told you that in order for this to work the way that it has that you could never love me either! You went and fell in love with me anyway! You ruin everything you dumb-ass blonde!”
Roxas steadied himself on the edge of the table with a trembling hand. This wasn’t going the way he planned at all. “That’s…not true…”
“Roxas, we can’t do this anymore.” Somehow, Roxas felt colder than the words Riku spoke.
“You’re not serious…”
“I’ll feel like I’m using you.”
“That’s what we’re doing anyhow…we’re just…using each other, right?” Roxas tried again. His pulse was quick again, but this time he felt like his heart had jumped up into his throat.
“It’s different when you actually care about someone.”
“What if I tell you that I only meant it as ‘Sora?’ Will that make you feel better? If I tell you that?” His answer from the other was silence. “Will that make you feel better, Riku?”
