*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The innocence of children never ceased to amaze Vol'jin. The child, Chiya, and asked no questions, and had not hesitated to go with him, trusting him completely. Vol'jin looked down at the sleeping form, wrapped up entirely in his cape, huddled against his chest. He figured it'd be easier to get her into Grom'gol and ultimately, into Orgrimmar, if people couldn't see her for what she was. He would send word to Vanira, to inform her of the situation when he arrived in Grom'gol. The last thing he wanted was for her to try and eat his face off over bringing home a night elf child. He would also have to remember to contact Thrall, asking him for his guidance in his current predicament. The logical part of Vol'jin's conscience told him that it would be better for him to take the child to Dalaran and leave her there, at the orphanage. At least then, she could be properly adopted by someone at least within the same faction. The larger part of Vol'jin's conscience wanted to keep the child, raise her as his own. And why shouldn't he? He could make sure she was safe, that she never had to witness anything, like the tragedy that happened to her parents, again. He could teach her everything he knew, from what it meant to be a troll and a hunter, to how to look at all sides before passing judgment. Such a dilemma he had landed himself in. As if sensing that his thoughts were on her, Chiya yawned quietly and snuggled a little closer to the protection Vol'jin's body provided. He watched her for a few minutes, smiling at just how at peace she seemed. Her aqua hair starting to form ringlets that plastered themselves against her lavender skin from the humidity of Stranglethorn. This was going to be one of the hardest decisions he was ever forced to make. Should he keep the girl, raise her as his own, accepting her completely for who and what she was? Or should he listen to his inner voice of reason and leave the girl with people who could bring her up knowing the traditions of her own people? Vol'jin sighed and felt the warm splatter of rain hit his nose. He looked up and noticed that it was starting to rain. Not wanting to have the child out, exposed to the elements he pulled his cape a little tighter around the girl and edged his raptor on a little faster. He was almost to Grom'gol now. Just a little further and he could settle in for the night and write to Vanira. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Vol'jin was grateful that orcs, in general, did not ask questions. The innkeeper in Grom'gol had only eyed the bundle that Vol'jin so gingerly carried, but thought better of asking and let the questions die before they reached his lips. Once settled in, Vol'jin set to work writing that letter to Vanira. He only hoped that it would reach her before he did. He explained that while he didn't find anything of interest to Garrosh, or to the Horde as a whole, he did stumble upon a troubling incident. He explained everything, from the pair of night elves, to the human rogue. Every little detail that was etched in his memory he scribbled down in the parchment. As he tried to decide how best to phrase that he was bringing the child that he found home with him, he heard a rustling coming from the bed on the other side of the room. Turning, he watched as Chiya sat up, yawned and rubbed her eyes with her tiny little fists. Vol'jin couldn't help but smile. She reminded him so much of himself when he was a child. Vol'jin stood up and walked over to his bags laying next to the bed. Chiya watched him intently as he dug around and pulled out what appeared to be a flask. Vol'jin then stood and then proceeded to walk over to the stand next to the door and grabbed the plate that had been set there with bread and cheese. He figured that she would be hungry when she finally woke up. She had slept almost the entire trip to Grom'gol from Darkshire. He set the plate of food and the flask next to her on the bed and returned to the desk. He needed to finish his letter... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Some time later, after sending off his finished letter, Vol'jin joined Chiya, who refused to eat until he did. When the food was finished, Vol'jin stretched out on the bed while he watched Chiya, who was enamored by the hammock in the room. She inspected it thoroughly, lifting it up, looking through the holes, babbling in Darnassian here and there over this thing or that. When she had obviously had enough of trying to figure out what in the world that odd thing was, she climbed up on the bed and curled up against Vol'jin's side. He yawned and stretched, deciding that sleep wasn't such a bad idea. After all, they had quite a journey ahead of themselves tomorrow. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
