Following the pale man Keba caught up to him in a small grove, a gentle breeze swirled the delicate pink sakura petals through the air giving the area a light sweet smell, grabbing his shoulder Keba turned him around to face him “wait just a minute, I said avoid Tsumi where are you going?”
Hadrian closed his eyes for a moment and breathed the sweet smelling air and enjoying the feel of the setting sun on his cool skin, “does it matter…ugh” Hadrian grabbed at his side where the assassin’s dagger cut him “…I guess one naga wasn’t enough” as he pulled back his hand he saw a small palm sized spot of blood “besides what does it matter to a blood thirsty hunter” he looked up at said hunter, who had his emotions well hidden, Keba dropped his head, he’d never been ashamed of what he’d become since his family’s death never cared about what people whispered when he walked by, how did this one man who was just as feared as he was make him feel ashamed of the lives he’d taken, perhaps it was because he knew what it was like to be feared and hated that Keba felt strangely connected to him, “let me look at you side” he said moving toward Hadrian, ignoring the necromancers protests he pushed him down until he was setting against the tree reaching out he focused on the buckles and zippers holding Hadrian’s shirt closed only to have Hadrian knock his hands away “stop it why are you even doing this” Yanking his mask away Keba glared at him “if you don’t treat the injury it will get worse now hold still” Hadrian froze for a moment the face under the mask was not what he’d expected, without the mask the man he’d thought cold and emotionless was sad, remorseful and at the moment annoyed, realizing that while he’d been distracted the assassin had managed to get the top of his shirt open Hadrian renewed his struggle “why do you even care if the wound you made gets worse?” Keba glared as his hand was smacked away again “I care because… because you’re not… what I thought you were, I can’t take back the blade I threw but I can help fix the damage it caused” Hadrian blushed, he was so touch-starved and had never been shown kindness he was unsure how to react to the situation. Reaching out clawed finger tips slowly and nervously, Hadrian started to push the assassin’s hand away, whispering very softly almost too soft to hear “. . . How can I trust you, I don’t even know who you are!” Hadrian looked up to see worried eyes stare right back at him, he tried to think of a way to escape it was the only thing on his mind at the moment. Keba eased back he could tell Hadrian was close to his breaking point he needed to put him at ease before the pale man tried to bolt, “easy now, you can call me Keba I’m a member of the assassin clan Tempest” He gave the nervous man more space “I don’t blame you for not trusting me, not after I attacked you. In my defense the people I spoke to seemed to be certain you were the necromancer I was hired to kill, still I should have taken more time to observe you before I acted, perhaps I’m letting past experience effect my judgment” At Hadrian’s questioning look Keba shook his head “it doesn’t matter, what matters right now is that you’re bleeding, Please let me help you if you don’t agree with how I’m treating the cut I’ll stop” he met Hadrian’s pale white eyes “you have my word” “Ke…ba?” Hadrian tested out the name liking how it sounded thou not letting his slight fear of the Tempest clan show, the stories he has heard, taking a short deep breath and exhaling Hadrian tried to calm down, feeling a slight wave of dizziness hit him Hadrian knew something had to be done about the bleeding or he could very well pass out “ok…alright, just …just don’t freak out when you see my skin” Hadrian leaned his head back against the sakura tree trying to will the dizzy spell away, and breathed deeply the sweet scent of the floating sakura petals that lazily danced on the wind and watched as one almost landed in Keba’s hair. Keba nodded and finished unfastening Hadrian’s shirt, pushing it back Keba forced himself not to whence, Hadrian was far too thin his bone’s, muscles and the tale-tale blue of vanes stood out sharply under his milky white skin, the scars littering Hadrian’s chest angered him but try as he might he couldn’t understand why the knowledge that Hadrian had been injured before bothered him, shoving the confusing feelings aside Keba focused on the deep wound in Hadrian’s side, the blood oozed out sluggishly prof that Hadrian had managed to slow the bleeding with his magic, removing gauze and bandages from a pouch at his side Keba cleaned the wound as gently as he could, despite his efforts Hadrian still seemed to flinch any time their skin made contact. “lean forward a little” He said pressing a gauze patch to the wound Hadrian grimaced but did as he was told, wrapping the bandage around the thin man’s waist Keba decided it would be best not to mention the fact the Hadrian was shivering it was clear that he wasn’t comfortable being around people. Tying the bandage he sat back and nodded “there we go all done” Hadrian leaned back and looked at the bandages sighing a bit that the whole ordeal was over he turned his head to look at Keba “th-thanks …I guess” as he started to stand up Hadrian felt the dizziness hit him at full force, “ah!” as he gasped out in surprise little black spots invaded his vision and he felt himself falling, clawed hands reached out to stop the fall but it seemed to be in vain. “wow” Keba barely caught Hadrian as the thin man swayed and fell forward, a quick check of his vitals made Keba realize that Hadrian must have passed out from the blood loss, sighing Keba lifted the necromancer frowning at how little he weighed, getting his Barings Keba realized they weren’t too far from the cemetery, it was quite and rarely visited so it should serve as an adequate place to rest, decided he set off the unconscious man held in his arms. you can find pictures and screen shots of the cast of A Change of Fate on out Live Journal http://sakura-grove.livejournal.com/While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
