"Can you believe this? We're finally going!" She shouted.
. . . "Kiram? What's wrong?" "My head...it hurts..." "We can go home-" "No!" her voice sounded distorted. "I mean no...I'm OK." x-d-a-r-k-n-e-s-s-x Yeshua shook his head, a small part of his memory returned. But nothing that helped at this time. He stood near a cracked brick wall. He explored many rooms and found various items. He found a first aid kit that helped with his wounds from earlier, then a flash light not too far from the first aid kit. It didn't work at first but in the supply closet, he manages to get batteries. He also found a sliver key in the storage room, it didn't go to any locked doors around here, and in fact when he looked at it. It looked like a hotel or store key. The flashlight fit in his shirt pocket; it was those clip-on lights that you might use for a hat or something simple. Still, any light would help. Yeshua ran into a few animals here and there: rats, mice, spiders, just small things. He was thrown off at first thinking another monster was coming but his mind had played tricks with him, which was good since he dropped the pipe he had in a hole. What is with this place and holes? He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small map of the area. He used a red pen, found in the supply closet as well, to mark off areas that were lock, impossible to access or to remind him where he could go or had to go to. "Alright...just this door left." he whispered, before putting the map back. He tried to open it but the knob fell off, frustrated he bashes his palm on the door. Its metal like sound echoed in the emptiness. Yeshua became tired and restless, he wanted out of this place. He glanced over at the wall, it was broken and thick crack was visible. Walking over to it, he could see the other side. It was a small room and there was a ladder. Yeshua looked around, finding something-anything-to break the wall even more. It looked as if he could slip through it but he didn't want to risk it. There were broken machines, wires sticking out and produce sparks of electricity. Water dripping from the ceiling, making dull thud noises as it hit the already damaged floor. Broken light fixtures, spots of what look like blood smeared in random spots. Laughter. Laughter? Yeshua turned around, catching a small figure running in the darkness. He pointed the light in the direction he heard it from. He saw what looked like a white dress. But then again, he wasn't sure. He heard the laughter again, this coming from the room he couldn't open. The door squeak opened. Yeshua hurried to it. "Wait!" he cried out. When he reached the room, nothing. There was a message on the wall. Written in paper. Yeshua, with caution, walked to it. He read it: Traveler. Lost Daughter. Dead Wife. Hidden Past. Innocent Receiver. Sacrifices- the rest of the paper is torn. Yeshua grabbed it and held on to it. Clearly, puzzles and clues were part of this places tricks. But what does it mean? Outside the room, a loud rumble interrupted his thoughts. Yeshua turned around, nearly frighten, he shouldn't be scared. There's nothing to be scared of. Was there? Looking outside, he saw a thin smoke in the air; the crack that was in the wall was gone and replaced by a hole. He could now gain access to the room with the ladder. The bricks were all over the floor. What's going on? He thought. As if he had much a choice, he went for the ladder. Climb up it. He lifted the heavy covering up on to the pavement. Yeshua got out, sat on the edge and looked around. "What...?" He was confused. He was outside, around him broken down buildings. But he was more concern about the way the layout was. Usually manholes were a way for entering the sewages, but-he stopped. The more he thought about this crazy place, the more it made his head hurt. Stepping onto the street he walked towards one of the buildings. It was a rundown shop, a pawn shop, maybe. In the reflection of the dirty glass, he saw another figure running. This time instead of a white dress. It looked like a young boy, in shorts. Yeshua turned around. "Hey!" He called out. Yeshua ran after him. He always only caught a glimpse of the figure. A foot or shorts. This fog didn't make it any better. Now he was going down an alley way. Trash thrown carelessly around. Doors and windows either broken or boarded up. Glass pieces crunched under his footsteps, as if someone just threw it around here. A few times, he saw bloody hand prints on the buildings side. Smeared, as if the person tried to get away. He slowed down and stopped in the middle of the street. Catching his breath, resting his hands on the top of his knees as he leaned over. Looking around, he was another different street. Apartment complex on one side, Jack's Inn on the other. Cars crashed into street lights, doors left opened. A bus a few feet ahead him, lying on its side. This wasn't normal. What happened here? He thought over and over. "Am...Am I chasing ghosts?" He said to himself. He heard a loud crash ahead of him. His body tensed up. It came from the apartments. Looking at the sign it read. "Blue Creek Apartments". But he saw no way of getting in. The front door was blocked too much to even attempt to try. He walked around to the intersection of the street he was on. There was another apartment building, so close to the Blue Creek complex. Yeshua hurried to the intersection of the street he was on. Going to the knocked down street signs, it said: Katz St. and Munson St. He walked down Katz Street. He reached the other complex, Wood Side Apartments. Strange enough, the door was clear of anything. As if, it was purposely left like that. Walking up to the door, he went to open it. Locked. Annoyed by this, he laid his head on the door's glass. Looking up, he saw a figure on the ground. What was different was this looked like a grown woman. Not child-like, like the other two. He banged on the door. "Hey! Open the door!" He yelled. But all that did was frighten her. She ran into a room. "No-!" Yeshua pounded the door then grabbed his short brown hair. Closing his eyes and walked in a circle. "Wait..." he reached in his pocket and pulled out the key he found earlier. With nothing to lose, he fit the object in the keyhole. It worked. The door opened and Yeshua walked in. The lobby was filled with dust on the walls and counters. The wood walls dirty, a bunch of scratches and marks covered it, making the once beautiful room, ugly. Picture frames on the side or on the floor. The fire extinguisher missed. Plants wilted away to nothing. The worst was the foul odor in the air. Like raw sewage and trash. Yeshua covered his nose and went to the door. Banging on it. "Go away! Go away! Go away!" the woman yelled in fright. He uncovered his nose, "I'm here to help! Please open the door!" He yelled back. Not thinking any of the noise he made could attract unwanted attention. The door opened, when the woman stopped crying. Walking in, and closing the door behind him. The office-like room now dark with a knock over lamp lighting it. Yeshua placed his hands on the back of the woman who kneel on the ground. In a praying like position. "Look, it's going to be okay..."he said, though he found it strange, not even he believed what he said. The woman looked up, her brown eyes red from tears. Her waved-frizzy hair a mess. Both of their eyes widen at each other. "Mariam!" Yeshua said. "M...my lord? Yeshua? How-" Mariam could barely speak. He held on to her, how did she get here? Yeshua didn't know what to think. But his mind blanked. He heard her saying 'she was glad he was here'. But this was short lived, a dreaded dragging noise, just outside the office door came close. Yeshua told her to be quiet. She tried, but her body shook hard and tears still spewed from her eyes. It made a death-like cry, as something heavy was being un-willing guided on the floor. "Y-yeshua..." Mariam whispered, "Wha-what's going on?" He couldn't answer her. x-d-a-r-k-n-e-s-s-x Lucifer reached the edge of town and stopped. The road was out. A smirk came on his pale skin face. "So, now that I am close enough, you're not letting me leave." He paused, "so cute, it's pathetic." Quickly he turned around and grabbed a creature the looked like it was imprisoned in its own skin. Snapping its neck and then throwing it in the abyss. Lucifer looked down and then at his hand, small amounts of acid tore at his flesh but it only healed itself. His eyes glared at the town in the distance, as if he dared it to try and keep him there. "Should be fun." He said in a malice tone.Authoress Note(s):
