Jorrvaskr was the best place to be on a cold winters night. There was a great fire pit in the middle of the room, enough food to feed an entire army and enough mead to put a restless werewolf down for the night. Just what I need she thought as she hung her cloak by the door. This was the one place she could show her face and still be comfortable. There were three things she inherited from her Altmer father; her height, her pointed ears and her amber coloured eyes. She hated all three nearly as much as she hated him.
Taking a seat next to the fire, she spilled the contents of the purse out onto the table. Stacking it into neat piles as she counted, she was tempted to start again. Seven hundred and fifty septims! Being a madman must be a lucrative business.

"I hope you didn't steal all that coin, Aja" came a voice behind her. She turned with a smile to see Vilkas, patting the seat beside her, she shook her head and reached for a scroll of paper. Pulling a piece of charcoal from her knapsack, she quickly scrawled I met a jester and we made a bet. If I made him laugh before he made me, I won.
Vilkas nodded slowly, "and how does someone who can't speak make a jester laugh?" he asked.
I'm good with my hands she scribbled and when he looked up at her, she winked and wiggled her brows at him over her mead.

She heard him chuckle under his breath and she pointed at him, smiling. When he smiled back at her, her heart skipped a beat. His smile could charm the Gods, I wish it wasn't this way.

The rest of the night was spent with mead and flirting. Light touches turning to lingering caresses as the drinks flowed. When she left alone, he looked disappointed.
