Chris Redfield stirred from his slumber.
He sat up as the remanents of sleep evaporated, and he was half-convinced he heard incomprehensible whispers that vanished with as his waking mind woke. "Just a dream" He muttered as he got out of bed.
He stretched and made his way to the bathroom. As he blurrily made preparations for the day. Joseph Frost and Forest Speyer were itching to go drinking in the suburbs again. Christ smiled to himself.
As he looked at a picture of them in a photo. It was never major shit but being a nuisance while having a few was oddly freeing. It reminded him of his military days.
He spiked his hair as he spied his blue eyes in the mirror. He brushed his teeth and then the phone rang.
He answered the phone and he could feel his blood run cold.
"Bravo team has gone missing. Rendezvous at the station immediately." Wesker spoke, the line went dead.
Hours later, Alpha Team's Helicopter swept over Arklay Mountains the sodden misty air giving the mountains an almost omnious sense. Chris clutched his flashlight and double checked that his fire arm was ready.
"Look there!" Jill exclaimed and he followed her gloved finger. There was Bravo Team's helicopter visible below the tree line. Albert Wesker immediately motioned to have them dropped off at the nearest safe point.
The resounding clicks of their flashlights resounded on the night air. The air was unnaturally quiet. Chris was on high alert as his boots crunched the leaves beneath his feet.
Joseph Frost was the first to Bravo Team's helicopter. His distinct red bandana gave him away as he lurched away from the helicopter.
Kevin Dooley, was only identifiable by his uniform. He'd been eaten!
"Spread out!" Albert Wesker commanded and Chris held his gun steady.
Then Joseph Forst went down. The ungodly sounds of his screams and tearing flesh. Jill's gun went off before as Chris dashed towards her. He managed to grab her arm and pull her to moving. If she didn't move she was dead.
Part of her thankfully knew it as she ran with him.
"Come on!" He tried not to think about Frost... There was nothing he could do...
As they began to dash. "This way!" Albert Wesker waved as the helicopter's lights illuminated the way as it flew over and vanished.
All the mattered was that they survived. Legs burning from the dash as the rabid dogs chased them.
There in the distance, was a mansion. It was their only chance as they sped towards the mansion.
They were going to make it! Albert Wesker had reached the front yard. Calm and composed as he always was.
The Mansion Doors exploded outwards.
Albert Wesker's head vanished and Chris tripped as something hit his boots and he smashed onto the pavement.
Chris groaned and scrambled to his feet. What had he tripped on? His curious gaze turned to horror as the object that had tripped him...
Was Albert Wesker's Head.
That perfectly slicked back blond hair and the telltale sign of those signature shades were a dead ringer.
Albert Wesker's body stood upright as blood sprayed as a massive claw punched through wesker's torso and held it aloft.
A giant white monstrosity calmly strode through the ruins of the doors. It's milky white eyes didn't seem to notice him. Chris gaped in horror as its massive beating heart only further emphasized its monsterous nature!
Chris looked around for Jill but she nor the dogs at their heels were anywhere to be seen!
The mansion's windows shattered. As humanoid reptiles with claws and teeth with dexterous agility landed onto the front yard to the mansion
Chris drew the combat knife on his vest.
Chris Redfield fell back into a defensive crouch. He cursed that he had dropped his weapon on the sudden dash towards this place.
The reptile monsters squawked and chirped to themselves. They lunged and jumped swallowed by Arklay's mist and were gone.
Wesker's body hit the ground with a final thud.
It lumbered at him suddenly and sent him flying back and he hit the ground with a hard thud.
There was no way he could fight that thing... But he had to try. He had to find Jill and avenge Wesker.
He scrambled to his feet. His combat knife in a defensive position. It footsteps thundered like giants as it strode to him.
Chris only had one shot! Chris lunged aiming his combat knife directly at the massive beating heart. He would plunge his knife into that beating heart!
The monster snatched his arm. Chris's eyes widen as his wrist shattered, and the knife clattered to ground. Its metal clanging against stone as it lifted him off his feet.
Pain raced down his arm as the bones in his arms broke. Chris struggled but the monster was far too strong to be troubled by Chris's desperate flailing.
His boots connected on the creature with no visible effect. He kicked again and again.
Chris Redfield shuddered, and his entire body went limp. The air blasted from his lungs.
He could only look down. The monster's arm was through him. The monstrous clawed appendage had punched right through his chest.
Chris blinked.
He realized he was dead...
Clarie! I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise!
The pallid creature flicked his arm. Chris sailed through air and landed in a ruined heap. His perforated body was no longer conducive to life.
Where had Jill go- Chris died.
No Surviors...
A pity.
Why was this human so brimming with potential? It wondered itself. It was The Circle Of The Bad End. The Architect Of Tragedies. It's presence a portent of doom and destruction.
It pondered.
What set these S.T.A.R.S apart? What made them heroes? What made their emotions so intricately decadent? Doctor Marcus was like a cheap beer.
Albert Wesker's emotions were watered down piss in comparison to rich one of a kind vintage that was Chris Redfield.
It had been unfair. S.T.A.R.S should not have brutally perished for the existence of the thing hiding in their midst. It could admit it liked them. Some were brighter than others but he'd find uses for their timeline duplicates.
But to be fair.... it hated Albert Wesker so really it was his fault for this unsatisfying conclusion.
It might be a shrike. Feeding on aborted and doomed timelines and feasting on death and sinfully decadent emotions....
A god merely taking its due.
La Entité spoke of a similar creature. Called the shape, She didn't control it.
All she had done was call it to her hunting grounds. And it had came of its own volition. Wesker was like that thing.
Unworthy of anything but its scorn. Chris should see just what he tried to avenge and he'd agree with it.
Hmmm.. It would have to investigate further. It would not make the same mistake as the Elder God. Done in by his own tool.
It snipped the dead timeline and added it to its tesseract nest
Initiating Recursion Event!
It would take closer attention to the events of July 24 and the actions of the Queen Leech...
Dr. Marcus was owed a Reunion. Albert Wesker was sure to enjoy it or well... At least it would.
Dr. Birkin wouldn't escape it's attentions either.
3.2.1... As it focused on specifics.
July 24 repeated...
