Kid wept for a few moments before he suddenly heard Stitch ram his fists against the ground. Kid lowered his hands from his face. Stitch actually had tears in his eyes. The small crowd around Dawn was silent. Stitch was gritting his teeth. "Damn it!!" He shouted. Kid saw Dawn, unmoving, lying in a pool of her own blood. She was staring off blankly, the side of her head against the ground as she lay on her back. Crying still, he crawled over to her, people getting out of his way. He got over her, shakily saying "D-Dawn!....Dawn!!..." She didn't respond. He grabbed her shoulders, shaking her lightly, loudly saying "Don't d-die, Dawn!! Dawn!!" She didn't reply. He gritted his teeth after a moment, shutting his eyes tight. He let out a choked cry, ramming his right knuckles into the ground by her head so hard he lost feeling in them, opening several cuts along his knuckles. "Please!!" He cried out.
She wasn't blinking. She wasn't breathing. She wasn't whispering that things would be okay. She wasn't wrapping her arms around him and comforting him with a kiss. She was dead. Dawn's dusk had come. Kid raised his hands up shakily, tears coursing down his face as he noticed that his blood was coating his right hand, Dawn's own blood partially covering his left. He looked down to her face. He realized by then that she was gone. He touched her chin, turning her head to look into his face. He bit his bottom lip nearly hard enough to draw blood, looking into her eyes one last time. He brought his face down slowly, pressing his lips to her unmoving ones, kissing her for a moment before pulling his face up. He moved his hand to her face, touching her eyelids, lowering them so her eyes would be closed. His next words were whispers nobody else could pick up. "...Thank you so much...For everything....I should've just let you kill Ace....I...I'll never forget you..."
One of his tears fell to her left cheek, running along her soft, pale skin. Everyone was quiet still, watching him sadly. Some people cried softly. Dawn meant a lot to her friends, it was easy to see. Kid stood up slowly. His jaw was strong, his bottom lip was no longer quivering in sadness. Tears were still running down his face as he turned from her body. He walked away, heading into the studio. He heard Stitch say "...The Super Stimpacks didn't work...She was just hit too badly in too many places...She lost too much blood..." Kid ran into the studio, running through the rooms and hallways until he reached Dawn's room. He ran inside, turning the light on. Tearfully, he grabbed the bag of supplies, grabbing Dawn's Gauss Rifle and shoving it into the now-stuffed bag. He grabbed Dawn's trenchcoat and used it as a bag of sorts, putting all of her pieces of armour on the inside. He grabbed the bag of Dawn's caps and put it in the trenchcoat, as well. When he picked up her helmet he froze, staring into it's blue lenses.
His bottom lip trembled again for a moment before he sobbed, shutting his eyes tight for a few moments as fresh, stinging tears appeared in them. He put the helmet down in the trenchcoat with the rest of the armour, pulling the sleeves up along with the bottom part, the part that would go against the back of someone's legs, grabbing the three pieces tight as a handle of sorts, keeping the gear inside steady. He grabbed the supply bag again, using all of his strength to pick up both bags, walking outside again. He walked over to Ace's car, seeing two junkies prowling around it. "Get the fuck away from that car!!" He shouted angrily, some of Dawn's friends turning and looking over. The junkies simply glared at him warningly, reaching for knives they had. Kid dropped the bag of supplies, pulling his pistol out of his waistband, pointing it at them. They kept looking at him, Kid narrowing his eyes and pulling the trigger a few times, firing a couple of bullets their way.
He hit one of the junkies a few times, killing him, the other fleeing and heading down a street. Kid pushed his pistol into the waistband of his pants again, grabbing the bag of supplies and walking over to the car. He pulled open the door with the fingers of his right hand, laying down Dawn's equipment and the supply bag in the back seat before closing the door. There was one more thing he wanted. He walked over to the group of Dawn's friends, finding Rocky. He tapped him on the shoulder, Rocky turning to Kid sadly. "...Kid, I...I don't even know what to say...Dawn was wonderful, in so many ways..." Kid gritted his teeth, shutting his eyes tight, trying to stop his tears. "...I have a favour to ask of you..." He finally said a few moments later. Rocky looked down into Kid's face. "Anything, my man...Name it...." Kid slowly said "Did...Did Dawn have anything really p-personal...You know...Something I could r-remember her by?..." Rocky thought for a moment. "I think I have just the thing, Kid. Wait one second."
Rocky walked back inside the studio, Kid staying put, refusing the look at Dawn any longer. His kiss and the closing of her eyes was the end. He knew if he looked at her, he'd just break down and cry more. He heard Rocky walk back outside. "Here, Kid...Only one I have of Dawn. Makin' these things ain't easy, you know...But you should have it, not me. I didn't realize the two of you were so close..." Kid opened his eyes, a few more tears falling from them. He looked to what Rocky was holding out. It was a thin piece of some sort of plastic. On it was a picture. He took it, softly saying "Oh!..." in surprise as he realized it was a picture of Dawn, Dawn smiling and looking into his eyes. She was dressed in what he had first seen her wear, a black leather jacket over a tight red crop top shirt, a pair of tight black jeans with it. The picture was of her from the thighs-up, the background being her room. "...Took it before she first left, months ago...."
Rocky said quietly. Kid smiled shakily and said "Thank you...Thank you, Rocky..." Rocky nodded, patting Kid on the shoulder for a moment comfortingly. "You have a home here, Kid. Might not be much of a good environment, but...Dawn's room is your's. I'm not touching it." Kid wordlessly nodded, gazing at the picture of Dawn silently. Rocky walked back to the group. Stitch and Krypt had picked Dawn up, Ice stepping over and helping them carry her body easily. Kid didn't know where they were taking her, but he didn't say anything. Kid quickly walked over to Ace's car with Dawn's picture. He had no intention of staying in New Reno. The city would remind him far too much of Dawn to be bearable. He pulled open the driver's side door, sitting down inside, closing the door. He realized someone was in the car beside him, looking over. It was Dominique. She didn't have her gasmask on, it was sitting on the dashboard. Her face was sad as she looked into his eyes. "You're planning on leaving, oui?" She asked.
He glanced down to Dawn's picture for a moment before nodding, looking back to her eyes. "Friends stay together...I don't want to leave you...I'm coming with you...." Kid nodded slightly, saying "...I...I don't know how to work this thing..." Dominique smiled gently as she said a few words in French. "Let's switch spots...I know how to drive a little...I practised on a few broken-down cars before..." Kid nodded, the two of them getting out, trading places, Kid sitting in the passenger side, Dominique sitting down in the driver's side. "Where do you want to go?..." She asked quietly. "Anywhere..." Kid said wearily, resting Dawn's picture on the dashboard. Dominique nodded, starting the car, slowly driving down the street, past the studio, past the group of Dawn's friends, going around a corner and then down a long street ahead. Kid's eyelids felt heavy. He resisted, but eventually they closed, Kid succumbing to a depressed and dreamless sleep.
Kid slowly woke up, opening his eyes, not knowing how long he had slept for. "Mmm..." He mumbled, sitting up in the passenger side seat. "I'm happy you're awake again...It's been hours since I noticed you had fallen asleep..." Kid looked over to the driver's side seat. They weren't moving anymore. It was getting close to morning. It was obvious that Dominique had driven all throughout the night. Looking into Dominique's face, it was clear to see that she was exhausted. Dominique looked back into his eyes for a few moments quietly before she slowly said "...I can't express to you how sorry I am about Dawn...I know you two meant a lot to each other..." Kid slowly exhaled a sigh of sorts, gritting his teeth a little as sadness rose in him once more. "...You should sleep....You look tired..." He quietly said, changing the subject. Dominique said "Well, let's switch places again...If something happens and we have to move, you can start the car and press down on the gas pedal to get us going..."
Kid nodded, the two of them getting out, changing seats again. Dominique rested in the passenger's side seat, trying to get a comfortable position, bringing her legs up on the seat and by her body, sitting on her side and facing him. She looked over at him as he sat down and made himself comfortable. He wasn't tired in the slightest, but still, he stayed quiet by her side to allow her an easy time of falling asleep. They were both quiet for a few moments. "...Kid?..." Dominique suddenly said. He looked over. "Mmm?" He mumbled. She looked down to his right arm, the arm closest to her. She slowly reached a hand out, laying it down on his. "I know I won't be able to replace Dawn...But...I'm here for you anyway...We're friends, right?..." Kid nodded softly, looking down to her face. "Yeah..." He said softly. Dominique looked down to his hand for a few seconds before softly asking "...Can I...Hold your hand?..." Kid slipped his hand out from under her's, quietly saying "...No. I...I only did that with Dawn."
Dominique nodded slightly, his rejection stinging a bit, but Dominique staying silent about it for a few moments, regardless. "...Sorry..." She murmured quietly. Kid looked out the window beside him, watching as sun rose on the horizon. Dominique kept her hand where his used to be, closing her eyes where she sat. Kid looked downwards slightly, letting out a soft sigh through his nose. He slowly reached his hand back over, resting it on Dominique's lightly, his palm going on the back of her hand. He felt her wordlessly turn her hand over, his palm resting down on her's, Dominique slowly tightening her fingers around his hand. He softly did the same in return, the two of them holding hands as the sun rose. Dominique eventually drifted off to sleep yet her hold on his hand never weakened, Kid holding her hand while she slept, Dominique unconsciously holding his hand back in the darkness of her mind.
"Dawn is dead. Ace came back and killed her. I never should have talked Dawn out of killing her...Now Dawn is gone. I miss her so much...Just thinking about her brings tears to my eyes. Dominique won't leave me for some reason. Her mission was to follow Dawn, not me, but still, she doesn't want to go. She says friends stick together. I don't know what I'm going to do now...Without Dawn, everything seems pointless...I guess I'll figure things out with Dominique once she wakes up again. Dawn was everything to me...I don't know what "love" means, but...From the way Dominique talked about it before...I think I loved Dawn."
Kid stayed quiet until noon, simply thinking of the things that had happened in the last few hours. About Ace coming back. About Dawn dying. About him shooting and killing Ace. About him and Dominique. About him having all of Dawn's old equipment and Ace's old car. About where he and Dominique were going. He looked to the picture of Dawn, still resting on the car's dashboard by Dominique's gasmask. He gritted his teeth a little, blinking once or twice to stop any tears from appearing in his eyes. Dominique slowly began to stir beside him, mumbling out "...Mmmm....Kid?..." Kid looked over to her. When he had written in his journal he had released her hand, Dominique seemingly wondering if he was still close, not being able to feel his hand. "I'm here." He said. She sat up, still keeping her eyes closed, stretching slightly in her seat before relaxing.
She opened her eyes, looking over to him. She couldn't help but notice a certain darkness in his eyes. They seemed to lack the shine of life now. She knew he was still hurting inside, it was clear. She looked over into his face for a few moments before he looked over to her, raising an eyebrow slightly. She smiled slightly, blinking twice quickly, glancing downwards for a moment before saying "...How about I teach you how to drive this thing?" Kid shrugged, looking forwards once more. "Sure." He said. Dominique leaned a little closer to him, pointing to the set of keys hanging from the ignition slot, pointing to the one inserted into it. "Well, to start it you have to turn that." Kid turned it, the car jumping to life. "The steering wheel in front of you controls the direction of the wheels, and the wheels will control how you turn. The pedal on the right makes the car move, pressing down on it harder will make you move faster, and the pedal on the left slows you down, but I wouldn't press on it too hard, stomping down on the brakes can lead to an accident."
Kid nodded. He pressed down on the gas pedal slightly, the car not moving. Dominique's face was curious. "Huh? Why aren't we...?" She moved a little closer to him, taking a look at the gas meter in the dashboard. It read "E" for empty. Dominique's face was annoyed. "Damn...We're out of gas..." Kid raised an eyebrow. Dominique's face was close to his. "So...We can't move, I guess?" He said. She nodded, turning her head and looking into his eyes. "We're stuck here..." She said softly. Kid pushed open the door to the car, stepping outside. Dominique's face was a little surprised. "Where are you going?" She asked. He closed the door. "I'm looking in the back. It looks like th-there's some sort of openable part in th-the back." He said. "That's the trunk." Dominique said simply. He walked around the car to the back, pulling open the unlocked trunk. It was filled with small rectangular canisters of some kind, coloured red and black and having a small red light on each one. "Is there anything inside?" He heard Dominique ask.
Kid slowly said "Yeah...Something....I'm not sure what, though..." Dominique opened the door beside her, stepping out of the Highwayman and walking over. She looked inside the trunk, her eyes widening. She murmured a few words in French, seemingly in shock. "Those are small energy cells...It can probably be used to fuel the car...I can also use it as ammo for my Pulse Pistol..." Kid quietly said "Let's juice the car. Forget about ammo right now, th-there's nothing dangerous here." Dominique nodded. He grabbed a few of the cells, saying "Where do we use these th-things?" Dominique said "There's an injection spot on it's side. Hang on, I'll show you." Dominique grabbed a few and walked over to the side he had walked onto, the driver's side. She found a small square-shaped hatch of sorts on the side of the car, pushing down on it and forcing it to pop open. She pulled it open, revealing a strange slot.
Dominique said "Microfusion Cells would fuel it better I bet, but those can be hard to find...Here, you'll see that when you press the top into the slot it fits a certain way, hold it like that until the red light on it dies, then just throw it away." "How will we know when it's full?" Kid asked. Dominique said "I'll check the meter in the car after a few injections." Dominique held the top of her first cell in the slot, keeping it there for a few seconds before the light on it died. She tossed it over her shoulder, doing the same to her next four cells, fuelling the car with them and tossing them away once they died. She walked over to the driver's side door, pulling it open and looking inside. "Okay, that got it about half full..." Kid began to do the same with his cells, fuelling the car with them, having held onto five like Dominique. "Alright, it's full now." Dominique said. Kid nodded. "I'll drive, okay? I have an idea of where we can go for a bit. It's pretty far, though."
Kid said "Alright." He walked around to the passenger side, pulling open the door. "Nice car, kiddies." A feminine voice suddenly said nearby. Kid didn't stop moving, instinctively reaching into the back seat, pulling out the first thing he felt from Ace's old duffel bag, grabbing the Calico Liberty 100. Dominique turned around, facing the raised HSI Mauser of a dirty woman dressed in fabric rags. Dominique didn't move. The woman's dark brown hair was cut and styled in a small mohawk. "I wouldn't try anything, girly. A bullet would mess your face up worse than those scars. And tell your friend to stop rummaging around in the back. I want this car." Kid carelessly raised up the Calico Liberty 100, holding the trigger, firing a spray of bullets over the car at the woman. A bullet hit her in the arm, another two in the chest, one in the side of her face. Her blood sprayed out on the air, her body falling to the ground in death.
Dominique was unharmed. She slowly said "...Thanks..." Kid tossed the weapon back in the duffel bag, not saying anything, simply getting back in the car. Dominique got inside, the both of them closing the doors of their sides. Dominique looked down to the steering wheel for a second before repeating her thanks. Kid said "...No problem..." before growing quiet once more, looking out the passenger side window. Dominique opened her mouth like she was going to say something, looking over to him. She closed her mouth, looking downwards, facing forwards once more. She gripped the steering wheel, pressing down on the gas pedal, slowly beginning to drive off, calmly picking up speed for a few moments, raising a trail of dust as the car headed off into the distance.
Slow minutes turned to even slower hours. Hours stretched into days. Days turned into a week. Another week passed by, making two. One injection of fuel turned into three. The radio softly played a rock song as they came to a stop. Kid was driving. Dominique looked over to him. He still didn't know where they were going, but Dominique had been guiding him along during her waking hours. She looked forwards. "...We're near it..." She said softly. Kid asked "Where?" Dominique looked over to him quietly. Kid narrowed his eyes and gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Enough with the silent treatment whenever I ask. Wh-Where the hell have we been going, Dom?" Dominique looked downwards slightly, softly saying "My home....The settlement outside Vault 15." Kid looked over to her. "Why?" He asked again. She didn't say anything for a few seconds. "...I want to see if my father is there..." She finally said, quietly.
Kid looked to the sky. It was nearly night by then. He pushed open the door to the car, stepping outside. He walked around the car, sitting down on the hood. He stared forwards, staying silent. He heard Dominique slowly open the door on her side, stepping outside, closing the door gently. She walked over to the hood, sitting down beside him. She was looking down to the ground quietly, Kid simply staring out into the distance. The sun was already setting, sending a bloody crimson across the sky. A flash of an image crossed Kid's mind, reminding him of the blood that used to be on his hands, both Dawn's and his own coating his hands before. He looked down from the horizon, looking to the ground like Dominique. They both heard the radio begin to play an urban song with fast lyrics. Dominique looked over to him without a word for a second or two. "Remember when you said I was cute?..." Kid nodded.
"...Did you mean it?" He nodded again. Dominique smiled slightly, a tint of red rushing to her cheeks. "...I think you're cute, too..." Kid glanced towards her for a moment before looking straight ahead to the ground again. Dominique slowly asked "...Do you...Feel for me...Kind of like you did for Dawn?..." Kid didn't say anything for a few moments. "...Not really." He said quietly. Dominique looked forwards, biting her bottom lip for a moment as tears appeared in her eyes. "...Oh..." She said softly. Kid softly said "You said "friends"...That's what we are...Friends. I don't think anyone will be able t-to make me forget Dawn. Nobody will be able t-to replace what she meant t-to me." Dominique looked over to him, a few tears gently running down her face. "I'm not trying to make you forget her..." Kid said nothing, looking down to the floor still. Dominique reached over, placing a hand against his chest lightly. He gently shrugged her hand away with a light movement of his body. She quietly said "Try not to be mad...Just relax...I want at least this..."
She moved around, pressing her hands to his chest, pushing him back lightly, getting his back against the hood of the car. "Dom, what are you-?" Dominique interrupted his words, bringing her face down to his, kissing him. She had her eyes closed. He couldn't help but blush lightly. She kissed him a few more times, seemingly ignoring that he wasn't kissing her back. He didn't struggle, feeling her kiss him silently. He eventually closed his eyes, letting her kiss him once more before a flicker of a return of a kiss came from him. Dominique paused for a moment. She smiled happily, one of her tears slipping down her face and falling to his, to his cheek. Kid lightly began to kiss her back, not knowing what he was doing, simply going with the moment. He and Dominique kissed a few more times before Kid pressed his hands against her stomach, pushing her up and off of him lightly. She looked down into his face sadly. He looked downwards slightly. "...Dom...I don't th-think this is right..."
Dominique slowly got up off of him, looking forwards into the distance just as the sun fell behind the land, the sky falling dark. Neither of them said anything for a few minutes. "...What's that?..." Dominique suddenly said, looking out into the distance to the left. Kid looked over, spotting a few large shapes and a few smaller ones heading in their direction. Kid hopped off the hood of the car, squinting slightly as he looked into the distance. The familiar shapes of carts being pulled by brahmin came into view. Kid actually smiled for the first time since Dawn had died. "It's a few old friends of mine, I think." He said in a low voice. Dominique raised an eyebrow slightly in wonderment, but said nothing more. "Come on. They might take a while to reach us, and I'd rather not wait. We'll drive over." Dominique nodded, Kid and her getting in their seats, Kid driving over quickly. He saw most of the guards raise their guns in wariness as he got closer, but Kid parked a little ways away from them, stepping out and calling out "Ronald! Is that your carts? It's Kid!" A voice called back to him from the darkness. "Well, bugger me! It's Kid! Everyone, you remember him, lower your guns!"
He heard Mandy excitedly say "Kid? Kid!" Kid smiled a little more. Kid spotted her waving to him, raising a hand in greeting, Kid doing the same in return. He quickly recognized the rest of Ronald's guards: Sheldon, Terra, Tansy, and the unnamed guard in metal armour with a shaved head. Ronald stepped out of the darkness, approaching him with his hands raised in surprise. "Well well well, you seem to be doing great for your very self! A car! Bollocks, that puts brahmin carts to shame, that's for damn sure. Who's the fine lass I see in your automobile, hmm?" Dominique hastily pulled on her gasmask, stepping out of the car. Ronald winked at Kid. "Eh heh, I see now, a little shag partner, hmm? Never can blame a mate for gettin' a little something'. Funny lookin' one though, all that leather. So, what happened in New Reno? What went on? Seems like you came out on top!"
Kid slowly said "Ahhhh, well....You know...Did some things here and th-there..." Ronald nodded, saying "Alright, I can tell when someone's hiding something, no biggie. Secrets aren't my business, everyone has their's. So...Which way are you headed?" Kid shrugged softly, taking in a deep breath, exhaling softly. "I don't know...My friend Dom wants to go to Vault 15...Where are y-you guys going?" Ronald said "We're headed for the NCR, gonna trade some stuff with them. We can keep the brahmin quiet and settled for tonight, why don't you guys hang out with us? We could start ourselves a little fire and have a crack, huh?" Kid shrugged gently. "Sure." He said simply, smiling a little.
Not long after, the entire group was seated around a bonfire, most of them drinking some sort of alcoholic beverage, the only ones not doing so being Kid, Dominique, and Mandy. Ronald had just told a joke, everyone laughing softly. Ronald had pulled out a radio, setting it down by himself, playing a classic tune through it. Kid was looking to Tansy, the girl with the black leather eyepatch. He had never paid much attention to her before when he first saw her, mostly because he was still messed up over Dawn, but now that they were all having a good time, he couldn't help but notice how pretty she was. A few locks of her wavy black hair hung down on her face, the light of the fire dancing along her features exotically. She sat by her black helmet, dressed in her red and black combat armour. She was drinking from a dark brown glass bottle, imbibing some regular beer. Kid smiled and said "So...Tansy...What's with your name?" Ronald let out a light sigh, shaking his head slightly as he quietly said "Oh bollocks, here we go..." Tansy glared across to him through the firelight. "What do you mean? Do you think my name is funny or something?"
Kid said "No, that's not what I-" Tansy cut him off, angrily saying "What kind of a name is "Kid", huh? Tell me what's up with your stupid-ass name before I tell you anything about mine!" Kid fell silent, looking down to the ground slightly. Everyone looked at him, Tansy glaring at him angrily. "...I don't remember my real name." Tansy raised an eyebrow. "Huh?" She mumbled. Kid kept looking to the ground without a smile. "...I woke up in the wasteland a while back. I don't remember anything before that. The second person I m-met...It was a bit of a nickname I guess, she didn't know my real name and she was older than me, s-so she just called me "kid". Eventually she asked me if I wanted it t-to be my actual name, because by then I had t-told her that I couldn't remember anything. I said that I did, and...I just took it as my name." Tansy's face softened. Kid looked up to her face. Everyone was silent. "I have nightmares every once in a while, and Dom thinks th-they might be of a vault or something...So...I might have come from one...I don't know..."
He heard Mandy gently say "Kid...I'm sorry..." Kid shrugged gently. "Not really much of a big deal." He said, looking over to her. Ronald said "Kid, can't help but notice...Ever since you went to New Reno, you've...Ahem...Stuttered a little less." Kid raised an eyebrow curiously. He didn't know what "stuttering" was. Ronald said "Well, you know, the little pauses when you talk mate, no offence, just sayin'. You make a few less of them ever since you went there." Kid looked down to the fire. "Huh." He said simply. Dominique sat beside him, close to him, looking over to his face. She reached over, lightly touching his hand. Kid didn't resist, Dominique holding his hand after a few seconds. "Most vaults have opened by these days. Not a lot of sealed ones anymore" Sheldon said absent-mindedly. Terra nodded. "He's right. Most are opened." Ronald said "Even if they've been opened, that doesn't mean people won't still live inside them. Kid, ah, I don't know if you want to talk about your dreams or not, probably a personal thing, but...What was the vault like? Anything special about it that might help us identify it?"
Kid shrugged. "Blue and yellow jumpsuits, sparkling white walls, a guy in a gasmask trying to shank me with some glowing g-green needle...That's all I've s-seen so far. Dom says it's not enough to figure it out." Ronald narrowed his eyes in thought. "Well, it wouldn't have been Vault City's vault, their vault is pretty much abandoned, none of them really use it anymore. Vault 15 is pretty old and messed up, so it wouldn't have "sparkling white walls"...Don't know much about Vault 13, but I do know that it's home to a bunch of talking deathclaws now, so it wouldn't have anybody with gasmasks trying to stab you with glowing green shite...Hmm...Maybe there's another vault kickin' around somewhere that nobody's seen yet?" Sheldon said "It's possible. But come on Ronald, these hills and mountains have been combed up and down for ages, don't you think someone would have found another vault and tried telling people about it?" Ronald said "Maybe, but maybe nobody would believe 'im? Maybe the vault had some sort of outside security that would kill him before he could even leave?"
"If that was the case, how would Kid leave?" Tansy asked. Ronald shrugged. "Vaults were advanced things, Tansy. Maybe any outside security knew Kid belonged to the vault and thought he was a friendly, so they didn't open fire. But that's all speculation, who knows what went down. I'm just guessing that it had some sort of outside security." Dominique whispered "I'm getting tired...I'm going to go get some sleep in the back of the car..." Kid nodded, Dominique releasing his hand and getting up, walking away. Sheldon got up, stretching and saying "Well, I'm gonna hit the hay..." Terra got up, nodding. They walked off, Ronald getting up, saying "Well, time to call it a night, then. Gonna put the fire out, Kid?" Kid nodded. Mandy and Tansy sat by the fire still. Tansy got up and walked over to Kid's side, sitting beside him. She had an apologetic face as she said "Hey...Kid..." Kid looked over. She slowly said "Um...Sorry. You know, about....Getting all angry before...I had no idea...Just...Sorry..."
Kid nodded, saying "It's fine..." Tansy slowly said "...I noticed you looking at me for a bit before you said anything...Mind if I ask why?" Kid shrugged gently, saying "I was just noticing how pretty you are." Tansy smiled a little. "Well, aren't you a flatterer." Kid chuckled softly, looking to the fire. "If you say so." He said calmly. Tansy looked to the fire, smirking slightly as she said "So, you find me pretty, huh?..." Kid nodded. Mandy watched them quietly, jealously rising in her. Tansy said "Well...You're not too bad yourself...A little change of clothing might spiff you up even more, but...Physically, you're not too shabby." Kid didn't say anything for a second. "...Thanks." He finally said. Tansy looked over to his face, asking "You and that other girl, the one that just went to your car...Are the two of you a couple?"
Kid shook his head. Tansy grinned a little as she said "Well...In that case...Since we both find each other good-looking...Wanna fuck in my cart or something?" Kid blushed faintly for a moment, his blush invisible in the firelight. He looked over to her, raising an eyebrow. Mandy made a face, getting up and putting out the fire with a few rocks, walking away in a huffy manner. Tansy laughed softly as Mandy walked off. Kid looked into her one visible eye. "Were you serious?" He asked. Tansy raised her eyebrows, looking into his eyes. "Hmm? Oh, of course! I wouldn't joke around about that. Wanna come back to my cart? I can make my apology stronger with my body..." Kid slowly let out a breath. "...Sure." He said. Tansy grinned more and got up, holding out her hands to Kid, helping him get up.
A few minutes later, they were both lying in her cart, Tansy down on her back, Kid over her. She had removed the pants of her combat armour, having pulled down her light red panties a moment before, dropping both articles of clothing beside her in the cart. She pulled his pants down, reaching to the side of her cart, grabbing a small item in the darkness, a soft tearing sound coming out, sounding like plastic. "What was that?" Kid softly asked. Tansy quietly said "A Jimmy Hat condom...The green type, very protective, pretty much guaranteed not to get me pregnant with this on...Stay still, let me put it on you..." Kid was already hard and aroused, watching curiously as Tansy pressed the inside of the green condom to the tip of his tool, rolling it down along him to the base of his tool. He couldn't help but tremble for a moment. The inside of the condom had some sort of cold lube on it, and based on the way Tansy wiped off her hands on a cloth in the cart a moment later, he assumed the outside had some on it, as well.
His member snugly gloved, Tansy lay back with a smile, spreading her legs as she whispered "We have to stay quiet....We don't want to disturb everyone, do we?..." Kid smiled softly. "Now...Do your thing..." She said in a seductive tone. Kid wasted no time, getting down between her creamy thighs, pushing into her pussy rapidly, earning a short cry of surprise from Tansy. Tansy raised a hand to her face, covering her own mouth, blushing deeply as Kid began to rapidly push back and forth inside her. It was a feeling he remembered, his mind drifting back to Dawn. Tansy slowly moved her hand from her mouth, softly moaning out. Kid noticed that the blissful sensation was taking longer to reach him. He felt her tight and warm walls squeeze along him, not feeling her fluid along him, instead feeling the quickly-warming lube inside the condom against his skin. Tansy softly cooed out "Ooh...You're...Pretty good..." Kid smiled a little. He was starting to feel some pleasure from the action. Tansy smiled and asked "How do I feel?..." Kid smiled a little and said "I don't really know, I can't feel you too good with this thing!"
Tansy laughed softly. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer, reaching up and putting her hands on his shoulders. She smiled and pulled his head to her's, kissing him passionately. He kissed her back, still thrusting into her, feeling warm pleasure beginning to wash along him. They kissed for a few more seconds before Tansy suddenly softly moaned. "Christ...Feels so...Good..." She said in a hushed tone. She reached down to her pussy, rubbing along her clit as Kid kept stuffing her with every movement. She let out a soft moan, closing her eyes, squeezing tight around him for a few moments before she stifled a cry. Kid kept moving, Tansy breathing heavily now. Kid hadn't realized it, but Tansy had just had an orgasm. He slowly felt his climax come over him, beginning to move a little faster and a little stronger, fire beginning to roar up inside him. Tansy kept rubbing herself, panting out "Ooh...Fuck...Kid!..."
Kid smiled a little. His climax slowly burned over him, Tansy moaning every few seconds, pleasure bursting through her every wonderful second that passed. Kid began to feel his orgasm approaching as Tansy began to quickly alternate between squeezing around him and relaxing, squeezing and relaxing, pushing him deeper into ecstasy. Tansy began to stifle loud moans and cries, cumming a second time, squirting a bit of fluid out on him. Kid went into a little burst of speed, moaning softly, feeling his muscles tense slightly as orgasm whipped into him. He let out a soft moan again, firing a burst of thick cum into the condom, Tansy cooing in joy, able to feel the warmth of his cum through the condom. He oozed several more loads, it having been quite a while since his last "release". He pulled out of her, Tansy grinning and raising her eyebrows, seeing the amount of jizz in his condom. "Damn man, you needed that, huh?"
Kid chuckled softly. Tansy pulled the condom from him gingerly, tossing it out the side of the cart, a soft splat sounding out as it hit the ground in the darkness. Tansy smiled and asked "Do you have a problem with cuddling, Kid? I sort of like to after sex..." Kid smiled. He lay down on Tansy, Tansy smiling and wrapping her arms around him, closing her eyes. They remained silent for a bit, both calming down and catching their breath, relaxing with one another close. "Kid...About before....Seriously, I'm sorry...If I had known you had lost your memories, I wouldn't have said anything..." Kid softly said "It's okay...You had no way of knowing..." Tansy smiled a little. "...Still...I was acting like a bitch...I apologize..." Kid said nothing in reply. Tansy slowly said "...If I can help you some how, let me know...If I can help you find where you're from, I will..." Kid slowly said "Well...Me and Dom are heading to Vault 15, but I don't know for how long...Are you guys going t-to be staying at NCR for long?...Where is it, anyway?..."
Tansy murmured "It's right beside the settlement around Vault 15, just to the west...And yeah, we'll be there for a few days...When you're done there come and find me...If you want to go and find your vault, I can figure things out with Ronald and help you..." Kid nodded. "Thanks...I appreciate it..." Tansy smiled and released him. "Don't mention it...I always make a point of trying to help hot people, heh." Kid smiled a little, getting up and saying "Well...I better get back to the car for some sleep..." Tansy nodded, stretching slightly. They both pulled on their pants, Tansy watching as Kid jumped out of her cart, walking off into the darkness towards his car. She smiled a little. She hadn't talked to him at all when Ronald's group had first met him, and now she regretted it. She liked him, she found him to be an alright guy. He was a year or two younger than her, but still, she found him sort of cute. She rested back in her cart, slowly falling asleep.
Kid walked over to his Highwayman, slowly pulling open the driver's side door, seeing Dominique asleep in the back seat. He sat down inside and quietly closed the door. He reached for his journal on the dashboard, having left it there. He pulled his pencil out of his pocket. He slowly pulled it open the most recent page, finding a blank spot to write.
"It's night. I still miss Dawn more than anything. I'd do anything I could to bring her back. But she's gone, I have to accept that. She wouldn't have wanted me getting so emotional over it, anyway. She'd say that there was nothing I could do, so I would just have to accept it. Just trying to push it out of my mid doesn't help, though. I'm heading to Vault 15 with Dominique, but I might get some help from Tansy later on to find out where I came from. Ronald and the rest think I might have come from a vault that nobody knows about yet. After Vault 15, I'll go to the NCR and find Ronald's caravans....I wish Dawn were still here....She'd know what to do right about now. She'd know where to look....I miss her so much..."
