Part 20 - "She's A Pirate"

Link's vision slowly came back to him. He was standing by Malon and Talon's house across from the stable once again. Link remembered the Goddesses’ words, about there being another girl. "I wonder who it is?" Link thought. He turned, and began to walk over to the exit, leaving Lon Lon Ranch. Link felt bad about not going to see Malon. "I really do miss her...I hope she can wait a few more days." Link thought. Link walked away from the Ranch, the sky above slowly turning a bit red with dusk. Another thought crossed Link. "Are they going to bring her to me, or are they going to send me to her?" He thought. Link suddenly got an idea. "You know...It's been a while since I've been to Lake Hylia...Maybe I could see Hena." Link reached into his pack of items, and an annoyed face crossed him. "Oh wait, that's right...Zelda took the Ocarina of Time back...Damn it!"
He began to whistle a tune. A, down, right, right, left. Link felt a feeling of weightlessness come over him, a blue light coming up from under his feet. His vision turned white for a few moments. When he could see again, he saw the lake before him, and the gentle sounds of water surrounded him. The water shined from the dying of the light. Suddenly, a loud noise like cracking shot through the air, and Link realized a small black thundercloud was ahead in the sky, over the lake. Something large seemed to fall out of the cloud, and hit the water with a painful splash. The cloud disappeared almost instantly after the object hit the water. Link stepped closer to the edge of the water, his feet just a few meters above the entrance to the Water Temple. He saw something floating in the water. It took Link a few moments to realize what it was- It was a person!
Link's eyes widened. He immediately jumped forward, diving into the water. The person floated a bit away in the water. Link knew that the closest area of land was the land on top of the Water Temple, where he had been standing just moments before when he teleported. After a minute or two, Link finally reached her. He had been swimming as fast as he could. It was a girl, floating on her back. She appeared to be unconscious, her eyes closed, her mouth open slightly. Link put his left arm around her chest, and began to swim back to land, pulling her with him. "I hope she's okay!" Link thought, pulling her up onto the muddy shore. He picked her up, and carried her up the small slope that went down into the water, so now he was on actual grass. The bridge to his right, the tree to his left, Link brought the girl down to rest on the grass, near the marble plate in the ground, where he always appeared when he teleported to Lake Hylia. Link finally got a good look at the girl he had just saved.
She was a bit shorter than him. She had tanned skin. Her hair was bright blonde, contrasting with her skin. A mane of hair hung down in front of each of her ears, looking almost like a lightning bolt. The back of her hair came up in a kind of curl on the back of her head. On each of her wrists, she wore something that appeared to be bandages, but Link knew that they weren't. They just looked that way. She wore something like a blue vest, with a purple shirt beneath. She was wearing light grey pants that ended along her calves. Her shoes were a bit like sandals, a strap going over her foot just before her toes, and another strap around her ankles. Around her waist, she wore a belt-like cloth, red like fire. Around her neck, she wore a bandana, red like her cloth belt. It was tied behind her neck, and hung down on her upper chest. Link noticed she had a dagger's sheath attached to the left side of her belt, by her side. The dagger looked large, but it it didn't seem like it was a burden in any way. Link wasn't sure if she was alive or not.
Both of their clothes soaked, Link placed his hands on her chest, to feel if she was breathing. After a moment, he felt her chest rise gently, and fall peacefully. Link sighed, relieved she was okay. He realized the pant legs of his tunic bottom were coated in mud from around the mid calf down to his feet. He saw that the girl’s legs had a light coating of mud on the back part, on her calves. Link realized that because he had dragged her up the small island’s slope a bit before picking her up and carrying her to where they were at that moment, mud must have been covering a bit of her back, as well. Indeed, Link saw that a small amount of mud had gotten onto his hands from carrying her. Link looked over at the girl once more. She was still breathing peacefully, lying still on the grass. He noticed a small amount of mud had gotten on her chest, from Link touching her to see if she was okay. Link lay back on the grass, only a meter or two from her. He closed his eyes, feeling deeply tired. His mind felt strained. Sleep took him.
"Hey, wake up! Come on already, wake up!" Link suddenly heard. Link opened his eyes. It was night. The sky was a sheet of oily blackness, spanning across the heavens, broken only by the millions of tiny specks of white, shining in the darkness. The moon was directly above the two of them, washing them in it’s soft light. Link sat up, and looked to his left. The girl he had saved stood there, looking down at him. Link noticed her eyes were very dark brown. Link smiled. She gave him a small smile back, and quickly asked "Where am I?" Link stood up, and said "Lake Hylia." The girl gained a slightly confused face, and repeated "Hylia?" Link nodded. "...In Hyrule." The girl's face grew astonished. "Hyrule? But...That's not possible!..." She said, looking around. Link smiled, and said "I saw you fall from a dark cloud into the water, and I swam over. I got you, and swam with you over here. You were unconscious for a bit, and then I guess I must've fallen asleep, too." She nodded, and said "Makes sense...My ship was going through one hell of a storm the last I remember...I remember feeling weightless in darkness for a bit, and I thought I was knocked overboard. How did I end up here?" She muttered.
Link watched her look around for a few moments, before he said "How long have you been awake?" She looked at him, and said "Only a few minutes, I'm sure. I looked around for a minute or two when I woke up, then I started to wake you up." Link nodded. "So...You saved me, huh?" She asked, smiling lightly. Link nodded. "I suppose you could say that." He said. She smiled more, and said "I would've drowned, if you hadn't gotten me out!" Link smiled. "I'm Tetra. Nice to meet you." She said. Link smiled, and said "I'm Link." Tetra nodded, and said "Right...I need to get home....But how?..." She looked around, before looking down at her clothes. "Ah! Why is there mud all over me?!" She asked, looking at the back of her legs, and realizing her back had mud on it, as well. Link chuckled, and looked over the side of the small island, down the slope leading down to the liquidy entrance of the Water Temple. "I brought you up from down there for a bit, before I picked you up. I got mud on me, too."
Tetra sighed, and said "Any place around here I can wash up?" She asked. Link chuckled again, smiling. "Uh, you do realize you're at a lake, right?" Tetra laughed softly, and said "I see your point..." Link nodded, and said "Right, well...You just have to go down for a swim, and you'll be cleaned up." Tetra nodded, and said "Well, I wasn't really looking to take a swim...I was hoping there'd be a bath somewhere around here..." Link thought for a moment, and said "Well, we can go across the bridges near here, and on the other side of the lake there's the shore. You can kind of take a bath there, I guess. You wouldn't have to take a swim." Tetra smiled, and said "Sounds like a plan. Let's go!" Link smiled, and said "Wait, what do you mean? You can go take your bath, I have things to do. Surely you don't want me to watch you, you'll want your privacy." Tetra smiled, and said "No, I wasn't planning on you watching me, but if you do....Well...That's your business." Link smiled. Tetra took his hand in her's. "Come on, you're muddy too. You have to clean yourself, too. Maybe a little farther down the shore, but it needs to be done." Link nodded, and said "Alright, if you say so."
Link and Tetra had made their way across the two bridges, past the Observatory where the old man lived, and over to the watery platform. Just beneath the water was a tunnel that went to Zora's Domain. Tetra smiled, and said "Perfect!" Link nodded, and said "Yeah..." Tetra turned to him, and said "Thanks, you can go wash up somewhere down the way there..." Link gave out a small chuckle, and said "Alright, I can tell when I'm not wanted..." Tetra giggled softly, and said "Oh, come on...Don't be hurt. I like you, Link. You seem like a nice guy. And I'm thankful you saved me, I really am. But...I don't know, I don't really know you that well." Link nodded, and said "Don't worry about it." He turned, and began to walk down the shore, heading over to the Observatory. Just before he was out of earshot, she said "Wait, don't go, Link!"
Link turned, and said "Go on, wash up! I'll be down here if you need me!" Tetra took a few steps towards Link on the watery platform, and said "I need you now!" Link raised an eyebrow, sighing inwardly. He began to walk back over to the platform, and said "What?" Tetra blushed faintly, and said "Do you like me, Link?" Link was lost for words for a moment or two. "Um...Yeah, I suppose I do. You're a nice girl." Tetra smiled, and stopped blushing. "I, uh...I was wondering if you'd help me undress. You can bathe with me, if you'd like." Link smiled, and said "Are you sure?" Tetra nodded, and said "I don't have a problem with it if you don't." Link shook his head, and said "No complaints from me!"
Tetra approached Link, and slipped off her shoes. She took off her open blue vest-like shirt, revealing the purple shirt she wore beneath. She reached behind her neck, and untied the bandana from around her neck. She urged. Link took off his hat, and tossed it to the side. Link pulled his tunic top over his head, slipping his arms out of his sleeves. He tossed it onto the grass nearby, by Tetra's clothes. She undid the cloth belt from around her waist, and rolled it up into a clump, tossing it by her clothes. Tetra seemed to hesitate, just as she was about to lift up her purple shirt.
