The door slid shot behind her, and lights blazed to life above her, so bright she almost had to squint from the glare. The Shadow Broker reached for a control panel on his desk. "Humans. So full of pride, and yet so easy to humble. Just like your friend, Commander Shepard."

"Be quiet," the Shadow Broker commanded. "You are my possession now. My slave. And you would do well to remember that. It could save the lives of your friends."
