We can make it in a few hours if we leave now." Medli nodded. "Alright! I'm ready to go whenever you are!" Medli grinned happily, closing her eyes.
Link smiled happily. Link rubbed his hands along her hips, his eyes half-closed. Medli blushed slightly, and opened her eyes. She leaned down until her face was close to Link's. They began to make their way across the grass, heading in the direction of the Kokiri Woods.
Their trip was rather peaceful, the two of them smiling and holding hands the entire time. They talked for a bit, mostly Medli asking about the Kokiri Woods. Link told her about it as well as he could, answering each of her questions with honesty. After about two hours, they finally reached the entrance to the Woods, a large tunnel-like passageway that went off into darkness amid many dense trees. Medli held Link's hand a bit tighter. Link smiled. "Don't worry, Medli. It's perfectly fine. This is my home, after all." Medli smiled after a moment, and nodded slightly. "Okay...." She murmured. As they walked through the tunnel, Link thought of Saria. "It's been so long...." He thought. "What will she think? I'm with Medli, after all..." Link shook his head, and thought "I hope she doesn't get angry." The tunnel ended, and they found themselves on a wooden bridge. Link kept walking across to the other tunnel on the other side. Medli kept up with him, holding his hand. In a few moments, they found themselves in the soft light of the Kokiri Woods, the gentle sounds and scents of nature peacefully floating around them.
Link smiled, and said "I'm home." Medli smiled softly. The two of them kept walking, heading for Link's house. Nearly every Kokiri that saw Link smiled and waved, but then they saw Medli, and a puzzled face would come across them. Within a few minutes, they had walked over to Link's house. Link said "Okay, this is it...Go on, climb up, Medli." Medli nodded, and said "Okay." She began to climb up, Link watching her progress. When she reached the top, Link climbed up after her. They both walked into his house, Medli gasping slightly when she saw it. "It's wonderful! This is really your house?" Link nodded. "Had it since I first came to the Kokiri Woods when I was a baby. It's mine, no doubt about it." Medli looked around Link's house with happy curiosity. After a few minutes, she sat down on the edge of his bed. She smiled at Link, who was still standing by the entrance to his house. Medli held out her hand, still sitting on his bed. Link walked over, reaching out and holding her hand. Medli tugged on his hand until Link sat beside her. Medli smiled, leaning against Link. Link put his arm around her. "There's more to the Kokiri Woods than just my house, you know....I can show you a lot more around here..." Medli grinned, saying "It's okay, I'm happy enough right where I am..."
Link smiled. Just then, he heard someone climbing up the ladder to his house. A moment later, Saria walked in. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Link with his arm around Medli. Medli looked at Saria, not saying anything. Link put on a smile. "Saria, this is Medli. Medli, this is Saria." Saria still said nothing, her eyes wide, watching Link. "Saria, I met Medli not too long ago in one of my adventures. Medli, Saria is kind of like a big sister to me....She's been a very close friend to me throughout my life." Medli smiled, and said "Oh, okay....Hi, it's nice to meet you, Saria." Saria nodded, and said "Umm...Nice to meet you, too." There was an awkward silence that lasted a few moments. Saria blinked a few times before saying "Uhh...Link?....I'm sorry, but I have to go do something....Talk to you later..." Saria turned and left. Link heard her hastily climb down his ladder. Link sighed. "That could've gone better." He thought.
Medli looked into Link's face. "She seemed a bit....Sad....Does she like you, Link? Do you two have something between you?" Link nodded. "A while ago, I came home after a big adventure. "Okay....But I still don't know what to say." Link stood up, and was about to leave, when he heard someone climbing up his ladder once more. A few moments later, Saria stepped into his house.
