Training day
After that oh so interesting morning that Samus had with Falcon, She headed down to the dojo for her morning workout. After receiving a locker, she went over and took her Varia suit off. She had a feeling she'd be having it off at some point this tournament, so she needed to work on her skills with her paralyzer. The ranged combat area was empty and only a few other contenders were even in the dojo. Captain Olimer was training with his pikmin in another area, and so were Metakinght and Pit. She liked to keep her skills in shape, so she usually spent pairing day training until the fighters were called together for the pairings.
Several hours passed, and she had already destroyed 100 sandbags with her training. An attendee at the dojo walked in, "The pairings will be announced in about 15 minutes in the fighting area." she nodded as the man walked off. She figured she should go get back in her suit and that is exactly what she did. On the road to the fighting area though, she was stopped by Peach and Zelda. The two girls walked up besides her. Peach looked at her, "Hey Sammy, what do you think about Captain Falcon? Just curious." "Yeah, Do you think he's cute or anything?" Zelda said with a smirk on her face. Samus looked at the both of them. "Captain Falcon is a selfish pig who only cares about sex and racing. I will say though there have been a couple times he has.....flustered me." She felt uncomfortable telling the other two that she sometimes liked to think about Falcon in a more......'friendly' way.
The questions kept up as the three walked until they reached the arena. All the other fighters were conversing, arguing, or just meditating. She walked away from the two women as their husbands met with them. She knelled down behind the pink marshmallow Kirby, "Have fun this morning?" He turned around with a smile, "Yep! i went down to the dojo early with Metakinght to train and I feel great right now!" "Well you missed all the fun back at my room. Captain falcon came crashing through my window this morning." He gasped, "Is he all right?" Kirby seemed to get along with everyone but Wario, Bowser, and Gannondorf, so the question was expected. "Yeah. He's fine." At that moment, Falcon walked in and over to Samus, "Umm, about this morning Samus.......I'm sorry about crashing in like that. I got in a fight with a local beast this morning and I just happened to crash into your room." She accepted his apology only because Kirby and everyone else was watching.
One of the dojo workers came on the stage, "Everyone, I have the regular match pairings for tomorrow in my hand. The next two days will be the qualifying rounds for this years tournament. The matches tomorrow are as follows- Mario VS Nana and Popo, Lucario VS Gannondorf, Lucas VS Mr. Game and Watch, The Pokemon Trainer VS Pit, Marth VS Link, Falco VS Jigglypuff, Pikachu VS Samus, Fox VS Ike, and ROBOT VS Luigi.� Mario and his brother did their usual �go for it� handshake. Fox walked over to Samus, �You know, if we both win our matches, we�ll have to fight each other in the next round.� She smiled, �I�m looking forward to it.� Falco walked over and kicked his reflector around, �Jigglypuff is gonna be a piece of cake. Just like last time.� Samus chuckled a little, �I wouldn�t underestimate that pink fluff ball. He did get past round one last year. Anyway I just want to hear the teams. I entered it and I want to find out who I get to torture next.�
Another dojo worker walked on stage, �In our team battle event, everyone entered except for the Ice Climbers. If you would all listen up, I will tell you your teammate based on advantage in battle. Link and Zelda, Peach and Kirby, Mario and Pit, Samus and Falcon, Wolf and Pikachu, Sonic and Gannondorf, Snake and Metakinght, Game and watch and ROBOT, Luigi and fox, Bowser and Wario, DK and Jigglypuff, Diddy Kong and King Dedede, Falco and Yoshi, Lucas and Olimar, Teen Link and Ike, Marth and Ness, and the Pokemon trainer and Lucario. Those are the teams. The pairings will be announced after the first round of the regular tournament is complete.�
Samus Couldn�t believe her ears. She was paired with Captain Falcon of all people! She stormed over to him, �It�s bad enough I�ll have to put up with you in the ring as my teammate, so just don�t get in my way or I will make sure you won�t be attending the next smash tournament.� Falcon smiled at her and put a hand on her shoulder, �come on now Samus, we�ll get along just fine. I�m sure there is a perfectly good reason besides how perfect we look together that they paired us up.� This was going to be a long tournament.
