It should be
fun now that the two main characters finally met. What will happen to them you will
have to read.
////////////////////////
Sheik clung
to the wall tightly as he was looking back seeing who was giggling at him. He
was curious as to who snuck up behind him without him hearing. He leaned back
slightly and turned his shoulders and his head till his vision caught the site
of a young blonde girl. He took a deep breath and turned red before he felt the
worse thing he could have imagined. His hand hold let go and he started to fall
to the ground.
Zelda looked
up to the boy giggling as she was curious as to how and why he was stuck to the
side of the cliff. She saw him turn around and face her then smiled up to him
she gave a little wave to him. She opened her mouth to call up to him to say
hello when she heard him cry out and fall. Zelda let out a shriek of fear as
she saw him fall.
Without
thinking she stepped forward twirling herself around as she swung her arms up.
Her hands pulled the air with them and caused and updraft as she brought her
hands up like she was going to catch him. Her magic had sparked up and she
summoned forth a large updraft of wind to slow his fall. She succeeded in the
spell however she was not strong enough and he landed with a bit of a thud but
wasn’t as badly hurt as he might have been.
“Oh I am so
sorry I didn’t mean to make you fall” Zelda reached her hand out dusting him
off a moment as she was really concerned that she hurt him.
“Mmm grr.”
Sheik sat up slowly rubbing his back a bit. “Naw I am fine. You didn’t do
anything but help. I shouldn’t have tried to look.”
“Good, I am
happy.” Zelda smiled brightly to Sheik
“Yea...” Sheik
turns and looked to Zelda before he pushed and back away quickly. “You’re a
Hylian! Stay away you filthy being!”
Sheik started to scream out loudly, “FATHER! FATHER! HELP! HELP ME!”
“What?”Zelda
looked to him before her face brightened again. “You’re a Sheikah! Wow I never thought
I would meet one!” Zelda back away hearing him call her filth they start crying
for help before she too started to actually cry. “I won’t hurt you, and…and… I
am not filth!”
Sheik silenced
quickly hearing her start crying. He backed away more before looking around
seeing his father wasn’t there nor anyone else. He moved from his crab walk
position to his hands and knee to crawl to her. She was actually crying and he
caused it leaving him dumbfounded and very confused.
“Please don’t
cry…I didn’t mean to.” Sheik reached a hand out to touch her arm. Before
jumping back as she looked up quickly. He was still very confused “Please...?”
“You called
me filth. I am not!” Zelda pouted out tears still rolling down her cheeks.
“I...um...hmm…
“Sheik looked to her actually a little sad himself because he made a girl cry.
“My name is
Zelda! What is yours?” She sniffled a bit and looked up to him.
“Huh? Oh my
name is Sheik” Sheik sat back on his feet a little relieved she stopped crying
or at least calmed down. “Um… Sorry I made you cry.”
“It’s okay.”
Zelda gave him a soft smile before she leaned forward looking to him closer.
“You wanna be my friend?”
“Uh, Okay,
why?” Sheik was confused as she was a Hylian he was a Sheikah and she was
asking to be friends.
“Why not?”
Zelda, the bright child that she was, answered with a bright question to answer
Sheik’s question. “Come one let’s go I found a fun place to be at.” Zelda stood
up quickly extending her hand to him.
Sheik reached
out hesitantly and took her hand before he was pulled up and running from where
he was. He was not sure what to do or
what would happen but he had a strange feeling in his stomach. He looked around
feeling like someone was watching him but he was not sure if someone was. He
didn’t like the feeling and decided to stay on guard as best he could for his
safety and that of the one with him for now.
Little did
they know from the shallows of the water behind a small ledge near the water
Shenka was watching them. He laid flat in the water holding his body down while
he pulled his head up to watch. The dark blue suit he wore hid him well in the
water allowing him to watch his son run off with a little girl. He didn’t know
who or what the little girl was so he watched not wanting to over react. When
they ran off he slipped out of the water and looked around spotting the royal
guard running away he himself hid quickly and fallowed his son.
Perched
behind a bush a royal had knelt and watched as Zelda spoke to the boy. He knew
boy was a Sheikah, he could tell by the attire he wore. The guard spoke quickly
to another whom then quickly and quietly ran back to the camp site and informed
Garret of what was going on. The guard watching Zelda slowly followed after
staying out of site as a child was not something to worry about just yet.
“Capitan, we
have a problem sir.” The guard Saluted Garret, his superior and waited till he
was saluted back and gestured to continue. “Princess Zelda had come in contact
with a Sheikah child sir. Your orders?”
“Stay here
and watch the Queen I will go get her. If there is a child near the parents
might not be very far away.” Garret spoke sternly and quietly before headed off
where the man came from. He was soon at a sprint heading to the other guard to
send him back to help protect the queen while he got Princess Zelda to safety.
Garret
approached the guard watching Zelda and tapped his shoulder before pointing to
have him go back. He takes the spot and watches Zelda as she was in a small
patch of flowers near the lake with the Sheikah boy. He looked around quickly
looking for another Sheikah an adult that was the parent of this boy. He snorts
not finding another and watches Zelda again waiting a moment as he planned his
attack.
Garret stood
up tall pulling his sword out and headed to the two children in the flowers.
Garret was going to fix the problem and make one less nuisance in the world. He
walked closer to them his sword turned and down so it didn’t shine or catch the
sun. As he got close Sheik spotted him and quickly moved in front of Zelda as
he saw a strange man with no symbol to tell who he was. Garret only smiled at the boy’s weak attempt
of protection.
“Princess
Zelda get away from him, he is dangerous. He is a Sheikah, our enemy.” Garret’s
voice boomed out loudly showing authority and strength.
“But he isn’t
bad he is really nice!” Zelda chirped out as she walked to Garret. “He hasn’t
hurt me.”
Garret moved
his free hand out to her and quickly reached his hand around the back of her
neck and used enough pressure in the right spot knocking her out and let her
fall to the ground. Garret looked up to Sheik and narrowed his eyes. This
caused Sheik to step back away from Garret not sure what to do.
“To day is
your unlucky day boy. I don’t like Sheikah of any kind, gender, or age.”Garret
walked closer to Sheik and snapped his blade quickly in to position. “Now you
will get to meet the three goddesses in person.”
Shenka had
sat off in the distance watching the Children play quite content with letting
them have fun. He didn’t know she was Hylian and he believes one shouldn’t
punish those who cannot control what the past did. He was actually very happy
his son was having fun, though angry for his son leaving practice. Shenka was
quiet relaxed until he saw Garret. He had the perfect view of Garrets sword and
he was up and running.
Shenka ran
quickly seeing the little girl fall at Garrets feet and approached his son. He
watched as the blade was raised to his son and watched as it came down. He was
fortunately quick on his feet and was under the blade with his own smaller
blades up. His two blades crossed and held back the large broad sword that
Garret had. Sheik stood shaking unable to move.
“Sheik RUN!
NOW” Shenka yelled at his son as he pushed Garret back.
Sheik quickly
shook from his fear and ran to the Zelda and dropped shaking her gently to wake
her up. She didn’t respond as she was out for the count. Shenka pushed Garret
back once more tripping him before he ran and grabbed Sheik around the waist
and taking off quickly away from Garret and Zelda to get to safe ground away
from them.
“I told you
to run!” Shenka yelled as he ran.
“But he hurt
her. I didn’t want to leave her with a guy like him.” Sheik whined back a bit
till he was dropped on the ground as his father stopped and dropped to his
knees sitting back. “I am sorry father.”
“Who was that
little girl?” Shenka asked calmly.
“She said her
name was Zelda and that man called her Princess.” Sheik looked down before back
up to his father. “Could that have been the Hylian Princess?
“Yes son I
think it might have been. We have to leave tonight your training here will be
done at the village.” Shenka sighed softly and got up. “Let’s go back to the
domain and rest we will leave as soon as the sun is up so we can get out of
here before they wake and leave themselves.”
“I am sorry
father.” Sheik looked down feeling horrible now for what happened.
“It is not
your fault my child, I knew they would be here but I never expected such an occurrence.”
Shenka looked back to his son and smiled as they both slipped in to the water
and swam down to the domain entrance so they could get some sleep that night
before heading out at dawn.
Garret walked
back to the princess and sheathed his sword before he knelt down and lifted her
up so he could bring her back to camp. He walked in and was instantly greeted
by a worried Queen. He smiled and handed the child over to the Queen and bowed
his head before fallowing her to their tent. He waited for his queen to speak
to him before he would speak.
“Where is the
Sheikah?” The Queen was quick and to the point.
“He was just
a young boy, his father I assume, grabbed and ran away with him. I fear we
cannot stay here longer. We must leave in the morning.” Garret spoke softly.
“Yes, we
must. What happened to her?”
“The boy had
knocked her out just as I got there. I do not know what he was planning but she
was lucky I showed up.”
“Thank you
Garret. This family would be at a loss with out you.” The queen sighed heavily
I relief that her daughter was going o be fine.
“I will step
out if I am no longer needed. To keep guard that is.” Garret bowed to her once
more before she nodded and excused him so he may take his spot once more.
“My child,”
The Queen too a spot next to Zelda sitting quietly stroking her head, “To think
is less then a month you shall be the age of courting. The time has slipped
through my fingers; I can only imagine where the time has fallen to.”
Out side the
tent Garret heard The Queen’s sad words. It was true; the time for the princess
to start courting was soon. His job would not change but the tension in the
castle shall triple in level. The time was soon and he had to prepare.
The night
came swiftly as the sun set in the horizon. Garret had finished his patrol and
had bid all those who were going to bed a good rest. He turned his head and
smiled at the full moon and he headed quickly over to a small tent near the
outside of the camp. Slowly he pushed the flap open and slipped inside. Inside
was Mendila readying for bed herself
“Mendila, my favorite half breed.” Garret
smiled as he entered the tent almost instantly cornering her in it. “I got a
few questions maybe you can answer for me.”
“My favorite arrogant
knight, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Mendila looked up to him. “Questions
here, hope they are not too important or difficult to answer.” She narrowed her
eyes showing distaste in the location he wanted to talk to her.
“How do The Princess’s
lessons go?” His voice was but a whisper to keep wandering ears from hearing.
“Fair though
she has the idea of reuniting all the races end the battle between Hylians and
Sheikahs.” She too spoke in whisper.
“Really who
put that thought in to her head?” Garret took a seat on the small cot.
“Not I, I believe
her mother might have done it that or her grandfather before he met his
unfortunate end.” Mendila smiled coyly. “Do you have anything you need me to do
to help your plans?”
“Yes I do,
the Queen is refusing my advances. I have tried everything to sway her to me
but I cannot sway for more then a kiss. When I tried to advance she stops me
and speaks of her daughter.” Garret hissed “If I keep chasing her I will never achieve
my goal.”
“Then why not
chase the child? She is younger yes but it’s not uncommon for an older man to
marry a much younger girl.” Mendila smiled to him taking a seat next to him. “But
do you think you can deal with her when she wishes to unite the two races.”
“You and I
are alike Mendila both half bloods both exiled and hated by everyone that knows
our heritage. And my goal is to eliminate all the Sheikahs for what they did to
my father. I had to watch as they tied him to a post and took turns using him
like a target for their blades and daggers. I will never forgive them for what
they had done.”
“I know
Garret, they did the same to my mother before they gave me the choice to fallow
her or leave. I will help you accomplish your goal, no matter what. I am your
spy, your guard, your subordinate. I will do what ever I can to help you.”
“I want you
to get me on to the list of suitor for the princess, and I want you to find
where the mix bloods are living because they are not wanted by either side.”
“I can get
you on that list but why do you want to know where those people are?”
“Because,
having people on my side will help me especially if I have to resort to other
means to achieve my goal.”
Garret smiled
and stood up before walking to the entrance. He looked back and nodded as
Mendila did the same as she rolled on to her cot for some sleep. Garret stepped
out and did a quick walk around camp before he himself went to bed. He had to
make plans in case his new plan failed.
“I failed to
sway the queen, now I will chase the daughter, if that fails then I have to
make the daughter come to me. I must be the best suitor for her and the only
one she will want. Soon I will have what I desire, power and the thrown.”
Garret smiled darkly as he plans ran through his head before he let the
darkness of slumber take hole.
Unknown to
the queen and princess their loyal caption of the guard was not very loyal and
was planning something to take the thrown or at least find a way to put himself
on to it. By force or by marriage and the young Zelda’s own life was about to
be flipped upside down as she herself had only a year left after her birthday
before she would be chased by suitors and families wish her to marry their son.
The morning
came and Shenka was waking Sheik up for their long trip back home. Sheik woke
up sluggishly before washing his face and fallowing his father for a quick
breakfast and then out of the domain. Shenka still had the horse from their
ride their and quickly mounted and pulling Sheik up.
The sun was
just gracing the sky when they started to ride off. Sheik was still sleepy and
fell asleep on the back of the horse. Shenka rode till they reached the ranch
in the middle of the field and dropped the horse off back home. From there they
walked back to the village. Because they left before they managed to get back
to the village before sunset.
The others in
the village waved and greeted them and even the village elder welcomed them
back. Shenka only smiled and nodded to
them before he and Sheik entered their home. They both remained quiet until
they had changed in to more comfortable clothing and had dinner.
“Father, who
was that man that attacked me yesterday?” Sheik asked very bluntly.
“That my son
was a royal guard for the Hylian family. A high ranking one if I was to guess,
he was quick and very strong. If you ever see him again run away, do not fight
him.” Shenka’s words were cold and hard not because of his son but because of
that man, the man he knew to have taken many lives of his
“Yes Father.”
Sheik looked down and sighed softly. “Father I really enjoyed that short time
with that girl, Zelda. She was not mean like you said Hylians to be.”
“That my
child is because she has not had the see of hate planted in her yet. If we are
lucky maybe it will never be planted though I highly doubt it. She is not a
friend and she will never be Sheik. So forget you ever met her because later
she may be your enemy.” Shenka stood from the table and took his dishes to washing
basin to be cleaned. “I only prey that some time when your generation grow the
hatred will stop.”
“I do to, but
why is there hatred? Why do the elders hate so much?”
“That’s a
long story Sheik very long. If you go by the story itself, then the first
Hylian and the first Sheikah were born twins. The Hylians were given the wisdom
of the gods and the Sheikah were given the strength. Like all siblings they fought
and neither won. However they grew older like most and a hatred burned because they
wanted what the other had and still wanted to keep what they had, refused to
trade.
“They both
had families and the families hated and fought and the goddesses got angry and
told them if they refuse to get along then they will make them get along. But
from then to this day our races cannot live together. Now wash up and get ready
for bed it’s your birthday in a few weeks you should tell me what you want. And
don’t forget your old man is going to try for the village council again. Maybe
I’ll make it this time.” Shenka smiled to his son and hurried him to wash and
get ready for bed.
“I want my
own short sword like you dad!” Sheik smiled and ran out of the room to wash and
get ready for bed. Sheik loved his birthdays and always enjoyed celebrating it
with his father because the entire village got involved on special ones. He
knew this year was not special but the next year was.
Shenka only
smiled watching his song leave. He was almost a man by the village standard one
more year of training and he would have to go on a survival mission on his own.
Shenka was not so sure he was ready to see his son grow up. He was losing his
child slowly everyday. He was losing his little boy to time and time was making
him a man. He only had one year left to teach his son everything he had not
yet. Most of It was little things but still very important.

Thank you all for reading this
chapter was a bit shorter then my usual (by like 3 paragraphs) I know shame on
me. But anyways thank you for reading and I hope you are enjoining it. For the
next chapter I will have a time jump to their 13th birthday when Sheik
need to do his survival mission and when Zelda finds herself neck deep in
unwanted suitors. Spice thing up especially now that they are at the age when
hormones are flying and when rebellion sets in. Should be fun hope you come
back to read.
